Washington (CNN) — Attorney General Eric Holder says he sees “racial animus” in strident Republican opposition to some Obama administration policies. Some media conservatives say he’s playing racial politics.
Holder on Sunday told ABC’s “This Week” that “there’s a certain level of vehemence, it seems to me, that’s directed at me (and) directed at the President. … There’s a certain racial component to this for some people.” (Z: why can’t it definitely be directed at them and NOT BE RACIST!?? That’s just amazingly stupid)
Holder said he also stood by comments from a 2009 speech in which he said America is a “nation of cowards” on race and sees a crop of new voter identification laws, many of them passed by GOP-controlled state legislatures, as a way to disenfranchise minority voters.
Some conservative figures accused Holder and the White House of “playing to the fears and anxieties of minorities in hopes of scaring them to the polls in November,” as Wall Street Journal (Black) opinion writer Jason L. Riley wrote in an editorial for the paper on Monday. ……..HERE is more…make sure you read the whole article because it’s important.
Z: To be fair, Holder said “Some Americans..” But, I think that’s dangerous. Why bring racism up? And, if asked about whether it played any part in criticism aimed at him or Obama, why not say “I think we’re past that at this point. I hope it’s not the case, I don’t think it’s the case, and it doesn’t help to ‘go there’.” I’m not a big fan of Karl Rove’s but he’s right when he asked on TV yesterday if Holder thought that Democrats who criticized Condi Rice were racists?

I don’t see how people could have seen lies he told CONFIRMED and still voted for him, or the way he handled so many things in the first term and still voted for him. It’s an enigma. Well, let’s put it this way; I’d feel better if it WAS an enigma. I think we know why people voted for him. They want their goodies, they feel better electing a Black man than an experienced man, they drank the Kool Aid. And look what we’ve got NOW. And then they call us RACIST when any of us would have probably voted for a Black Conservative candidate ANY day of the year if he had our values!

Wherever racism had been toned ( total elimination is impossible ) down or just ignored…it’s now open and full blown. It’s in your face everyday but the media denies, lies or excuses it. 50 years after LBJ signed the CRA into law….we’ve seen a total abandonment and reversal of race relations in this country. Ovomit and Holder have completely unravelled it’s intended purpose by giving blacks the go ahead to hate whites. And to blame them for their lack of progress. Both of them should be impeached for aiding and abetting a crime.

Playing the race card is effective because Americans — particularly white Americans — have been so indoctrinated in white guilt. I see it all the time — even among conservatives.
Once again, I mention Howard Zinn, whose views have been included in on way or another in so many teaching materials. Thus we have some 30 years of brainwashing, and many of those upon whom the race card is played today fall for the ruse.
We cannot undo the past. What was done is what was done — and I refuse to feel guilty about something my ancestors did. What matter is what I do. I will not be held accountable collectively.
Ultimately, people like Eric Holder are taking us back to race war.

I am not a racist, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. I’ve always been led to believe that whomever first makes the claim of racism is likely a racist himself. This would appear to apply to both Holder and Obama. And for the record, I detest both of those fools, but not because they are black. I loathe them because they are human scum and the enemy of the United States and its people.

That as conservatives and off the demrat plantation, they deserved the Oreo and Tom labels that they attacked them with? You see…I fervently believe that dems really hate blacks and they save their vitriol for those blacks on the right. Baysider, outside of black towards white, racism doesn’t exist.. Any sane person wants everyone to be successful. Those who are not in a position to profit for their efforts for whatever reason will use that which best provides for them. Usually this is playing the race card. Given that the obama administration enhances people’s ability to do that this will only get worse over the short term.

To interject something positive, I have to say that I realize that those of us born in the 50s have lived probably the best decades in American or World history. 50’s-60-70-80-90’s an a touch into 2000. 5 decades. Not bad if this is what it comes to. Yet still WE are the gatekeepers. We revolt at evil gaining an inch anywhere. We will win this one way or another.

Not sure I agree with your racist comment, though. Our country is so devoid of racism compared to most of the world for most of history, except for caricatures of it from deep in our history. And, of course, the growing envy, jealousy and resentment of ‘white privilege’ among non-whites with the greatest opportunities available to them just about anywhere at any time. Yet, there are still ‘good ‘ol boys’ around. While I believe they are way less in proportion to Hollywood’s imagination, I’ve run into 1 or 2 over the years.
Racism is everywhere because human hearts are everywhere. How many people know the book “The Cleanest Race: How North Koreans See Themselves and Why it Matters” for example?
