Some of you prayed for Jason, the prison guard hurt so badly in that Texas bus crash we heard about this last week…here was my prayer request:

Prayers needed

I just got this email from an acquaintance…if you’re a pray-er, please do!
“Needing prayer!  My sister-in-law’s brother, Jason, is a prison guard and one of the 5 survivors from the prison bus crash this morning in west Texas.  He is currently in critical condition.  Please pray that God would spare Jason’s life, for his wife, Michelle, and their 5 kids.”

I just got this email this morning and wanted to share it with you:

“There is lots of great news on Jason this afternoon; only God could be causing so much healing to happen so quickly!  Thank you for praying so faithfully.   As of last night:

Jason was in a medically induced coma with internal injuries, a broken neck, a broken arm, a broken leg, a punctured lung and a ruptured spleen.  The good news was that his vital signs were good, he did not seem to have spinal cord damage because he had some movement in his arms and legs, and his brain scan came back good.    As of this afternoon: (Friday afternoon)

They are looking to do surgery on Jason’s neck as early as Monday.  They originally thought they would have to fuse C1 through C4 vertebrae which would have severely limited his range of motion (and quality of life).  Now they think they will only have to fuse C1 and C2, which will be much less limiting.  His swelling around his face has reduced in the last 48 hours and he generally looks MUCH better.  He does NOT have a broken leg.  (He does have a fracture in his pelvis, but that’s not considered major.)  My brother who lives in Lubbock visited Jason today and said they were removing the intubation tube.  Wow, just wow!  I really sensed this morning, as I was praying, that God has his physical hands on Jason’s body, healing the broken parts.  I’m so grateful for all of you talking to God the Healer with us.  He is working.”

Z:  So THANK YOU FOR THE PRAYERS!   It sounds like a lot of this improvement wasn’t expected, or not expected quite this soon!    Prayers work and I thought you should see the update!   We all need to pray SO MUCH MORE.   Try it! 🙂

“…The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective” (James 5:16). –

Thanks again for praying for Jason.

Bob, it is such a pleasure to get an email for prayer and know I can count on more people from GeeeZ…thank YOU for all YOU do in that way…

We often have prayer requests emailed from church members and no follow-up, so I’m kind of sensitive to it and figured all your pray-ers should know that Jason has improved beyond expected. I don’t know him or his family, but it feels good to get you all praying!
