hope heals

Amazing story:  Thursday, I heard Katherine Wolf talk about how FAITH and HOPE have healed her in so many ways since the stroke, which permanently disfigured half of her (drop dead gorgeous) face, caused her never to be able to walk well again,  have double vision, etc etc…but she feels HEALED in much more important ways.  HERE is her blog…scroll down, there is amazing news there!!  AMAZING~!…Some of you have seen it before when I’ve published it here but NOT the big amazing news!

ANYWAY, she told me I could relate this story she told Thursday:

She and her husband were expecting their first child (the stroke happened at 26 years old, when her son was 6 months old), and her husband was in law school at Pepperdine.  She was modeling and they lived in Malibu.

One Sunday, their church asked for pledges and she and her husband both felt God moving them to pledge $5000 over their normal tithing..knowing this amount was impossible for a law school student’s family, they pledged that amount anyway!
Shortly after that, she was in an area new to her, in a coffee shop completely new to her, and a stranger approached her and asked if she’d be a contestant on ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5 YEAR OLD? hosted by Jeff Foxworthy.  She accepted and she WON.

She won FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS.   Tithing, as most of you know, is normally 10% of one’s income.  What’s 10% of $50K?  Yup….exactly $5,000.   She had the stroke about a year later.  The rest of that cash helped them when that happened.

That is such a miracle, such a “God thing” I had to share it with you.

She and her husband live on HOPE and go around the country now talking about their story and HOPE …and they TOTALLY trust God and see their HOPES answered, in God’s ways, all the time.  So, okay, you don’t have to go on her blog…I’ll tell you the astonishing news:  They’re expecting their second child in about 5 months!   The doctors okayed it but are concerned.   But she is THRILLED.  Please keep their family, and especially that new baby, in your prayers!   Pray Katherine won’t fall, which she is very prone to, that her health maintains, etc.  Thank you!

2 Corinthians 4:16-18  So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Happy Sunday!   Believe in miracles and never lose HOPE!

Also: God is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him.
That part in my post you commented on this morning (thanks) where I talked about “going Hollywood” and disfigurement and entering the Kingdom came to mind as I read again about Kathy’s stroke. Not in a judgmental way, but coincidental.

What a wonderful story of love and redemption! Praying that she will stay strong, have a safe pregnancy, and enjoy every minute of it. God is GOOD!

    Isn’t that wonderful, Linda!?

Ed, thanks for the quote…You’re right; it can’t be judgmental because it isn’t like Katherine and Jay weren’t faithful believers before the stroke; it didn’t take that to bring them to their knees, in other words. They never did “go Hollywood” …but yes! The disfigurement and entering the Kingdom…a good coincidence!

Did anybody notice the point of their feeling moved to pledge so much money and then having it practically fall in their laps!?

    I found that amazing!

Beautiful story. It is easy to say you have faith in God when all is going well, but that faith really gets tested when your life takes a bad turn down a rocky road.
