Communism vs Socialism in America; Please chime in

ayn randI found this fascinating….and true.   The way today’s Leftist candidates are promising goodies, pandering for votes, taking from the successful and showering it on the unaccomplished is depraved.  It’s so far from American values!

Of course,  having said that, a liberal would be insisting that “Republicans don’t care about the POOR!”    We have to realize people actually believe that.   I think you all must have seen that homework or test in an American school where the correct answer of a multiple choice question on people who don’t care about the poor  was “Republicans”?

republicans don't help the poor

HERE is the article and what happened.  This only came to light because a student asked his mother how it could be that anybody would not help the poor…..how many other students just absorb and will regurgitate in the voting booth?

And because parents don’t get as involved as they used to, and teachers know that, how do we stop this ridiculous indoctrination?  We have to fight to educate kids to do better, speak better, do better in school, and succeed so they can help the poor but not make the poor (or themselves) dependent on government.   We need to make sure those who can’t help themselves are helped and stop our people from only being given the choice Ayn Rand so well states above.

Can we?  Do you, too, think Rand was right?

And I just got this so I thought I’d add it to this post because it suits it perfectly:

One day while in class at a large college, a professor noticed one young man, an exchange student, who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt.  The professor asked the young man what was the matter.

The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country’s government and install a new communist regime.

In the midst of his story, the student looked at the professor and asked a strange question , “Do you know how to catch wild pigs?”

The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line.  The young man assured the professor that his question was no joke and went on to say.

“You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free corn.

When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence.

They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side.

The pigs, which are now used to and want the free corn, eventually begin to come through the gate to get to the free corn.

When all the pigs get inside, you slam the gate and catch the whole herd.

Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They are confused and run around inside the fence, but soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity.”

The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening in America

The government keeps pushing us toward Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tax exemptions, tobacco subsidies, welfare entitlements, medicine, drugs, etc., while we continually lose our freedoms, just a little at a time.

God help us all when the gate slams shut!

Marx once said, “Remove one freedom per generation and soon you will have no freedom and no one would have noticed.”

CAN we survive as an economically sound America full of mostly the self-reliant, proud Americans we once were?

HOW?

First of all, I liked the poster. It indeed captures the essence of the two – neither which is appealing. But I read your question as can we survive with the recent surge in folks with the entitlement mentality? If that’s the question, no. We will go by way of the Romans. But if you are asking if we revert to the early post-war years of working for your family’s food and future, yes!

America is no longer “economically sound”. A nation of “shopkeepers” has become a nation of wage labourers.

Well, with Communism, I’m forced to buy a snow blower that doesn’t work. With Socialism, I get one that works but I have to pay 10 times what it should cost because it takes 40 lazy union workers to put it together instead of 3 motivated people. Anyway, yes both are a form of genocide of human spirit and slavery of the physical person.

In the 60’s there were a lot more conservative patriotic people than there are today so we know there are more forces at work creating the liberal and progressive communists than there are forces creating conservative patriotic people.

Given that the commies have the school, media, and entertainment pretty much wrapped up, then I say no – will have to go much further down before there is an opportunity to turn back. The majority of people will need to deeply feel the pain of bad choices before they snap out of their fantasy world and realize who is doing all the lying, cheating, stealing, and enslaving.

    Not in our lifetime.

BTW, Much of what she said about liberty and tyranny is great, but I am not an Ayn Rand fan. She was a horrible, crusty, dogmatic and twisted person, and she openly displayed downright contempt for anyone who believed in God, and her books were turgid tomes full of chapter-long diatribes poorly disguised as dialog.

No one can survive without self reliance. Without self reliance there wouldn’t have been any evolution and we’d still be monkeys. It’s self reliance that fosters cooperation. Cooperation is a means to survival for the individuals willing to cooperate. When you suck up the system it’s not cooperation anymore. That’s where communism and socialism fail and lead to death. And that’s why with communism, the State is a tyrant forcing the cooperation. Because there’s no benefit and motivation to cooperating for oneself vs the collective, individuals must be forced to do so. In a socialist country like France, they basically enforce things via regulations and taxes.

So maybe she’s right in the quote using that angle.

Pandering for votes is part of the flagrant dishonesty of the political left. They realize that there are a large number of people in our country capable of selling their votes in exchange for free stuff —benefits paid for by the hard work of others. Now the left, in its decadence, pretends that these are all needy, downtrodden, abused citizens. And of course they are. They are the product of leftist/communist politics.
Let me say, however, that there was no dishonesty in Barack Obama’s approach: he told everyone he was a Marxist from the day he announced his campaign for the presidency. Sadly, since most high school graduates in our country today do not know what Marxism means, this was not a problem for millions of voters supporting Obama. And make no mistake—they’ll be back again to vote for the Hildebeast.
Yes, Rand was right. The proof of this is that the left hates her with unparalleled intensity.

John…thanks so much; People NEED to hear these things, don’t they. I’m honored.

Mal and FB… I don’t think there’s a believer in the world who doesn’t believe some evolution has happened. The diet with more fresh milk and vitamins has grown taller grandchildren than their grandparents, etc…. People are adapted to their countries…dark skin doesn’t sun as badly in African heat and sun as some Scandinavians would with their very pale skin and blue eyes. There are definitely changes….
But, if you believe in Adam and Eve, which nobody HAS to, of course, it’s hard to consider them as the original chimps 🙂

    Bunker…she sure did.
    SF:
Actually, I like her books mostly just for the story: I was too young to read them with any political thoughts when I read them!

Baysider, I like that idea of a CENTRAL POST…a CENTRAL BLOG area/website, where people can get advised of what’s going on. Do we think that many would care?

Mustang…Oh, I WISH you were wrong, but alas…….you’re too correct.
And you are SO right about Rand…the left despises her.. “Someone telling the TRUTH? SILENCE her…burn the books!”
Heck, they still believe that, because she pushed for killing babies, Margaret Sanger, wasn’t a racist!

To JERSEY: Thanks for your ridiculous comment which I ‘trashed’ so you can’t comment here. You think “Chime In!” is funny because YOU can’t chime in? YOU can’t chime in because I had to FINALLY, after about 8 years of blogging, eliminate the Leftwingers…not all, some actually added something to the discussions, but people like you and others who know who they are, had to go. I fought HARD to keep my blog on Blogger because I DID NOT WANT a ‘Conservative echo chamber’ and most of my readers heard me say that several times, but I finally realized that leftwingers can’t participate with intelligence and kindness because they’re void of curiosity; they believe all they hear: Republicans are racist, they hate the poor and hate women (I’m a woman, and they knew that and STILL told me I hated women :-)) You must know and like SOME Republicans….do you believe ANY of that about any of them? You must THINK, you have to put OUR COUNTRY FIRST, you must open your mind. And yet…
So, think twice before your comments to me …you will NEVER EVER comment here and I wanted you to know. Sad, isn’t it? You made your own bed, buster. \

Pandering for votes is so much easier on the left. Anybody can do it. Free this, free that. That’s all you have to do. That’s why I honestly do not believe in Western democracy anymore. That is also why the income tax should not be legal. As soon as you can tap into someone’s wallet like this everything crumbles. Leftists see disposable income as taxable income, even if it’s not much. They don’t care people want to save or invest for their future. That’s why French leftists were thinking of taxing people who finished paying their mortgage like my mom. I despise them. They’re thieves.

The very thought that the greedy thieves in France would tax your mother now that she’ll have some extra money after years of working hard to get that home paid for is HORRIBLE. That’s supposed to be the retired dream..home paid for. WOW.
I watch old films which portray clubs in NYC, for example, where there are huge bands and entertainment every night, people paying a lot for food and drink….cigarette girls making a living selling cigarettes….and I’ve often wondered “How the heck did that club afford live entertainment like that?” Apparently, in the USA, withholding tax began in 1943……….that’s about the time these clubs were starting to close and that interests me….

We need a tax but not an income tax. But in my books, we need to pay fees that are allocated to budgets specifically. Not everything has to be progressive. Everybody benefits from the military or the justice system so why would those expenses be backed by just a few? That’s my dream world. And it wouldn’t be taken off the pay check. We’d get a bill and everyone would fill the pain. It’s too easy to have zombies think taxes are ok when they don’t even know what they’re paying.

  22. FB says:

But our politicians wouldn’t like that because they can use the budget as a way to bribe people. They’re worse than people who want freebies. There’s a reason why everybody talks about simplifying the tax code but nobody does it. Simplicity = clarity and transparency. The last thing people in Washington wants.

FB, Z, AOW recently commented somewhere that she had given assignments to students to list all the taxes they pay. No one did that well. Not a direct quote, but it would be interesting for people to realize all the taxes they pay. A lot of tax gets paid in the price of products and services they buy for example. Taxes get paid via trumped up idiotic misdemeanors. There were tens of thousands of new laws put on the books a couple years ago. Politicians are adept at playing the what the heck can we tax next game to keep their cocaine type addiction for money fed.
