Homeland Secretary Johnson suggests term ‘violent extremism’ used at behest of Muslim leaders

Well, SURPRISE SURPRISE, right?  Aren’t you STUNNED?  (not)

  1. Muslim leaders, from which ALL Islamic “reformers” had been preemptively ‘purged’

  2. John M. Berger says:

“At the summit, Obama and other officials insisted there is no link between Islam and the Islamist extremist groups that have been at the forefront of a dramatic spike in terrorist violence worldwide”
Well, if that’s true what then is the [common denominator] for all of those Muslim terrorist groups, too numerous to mention?

  3. silverfiddle says:

It’s a vacuous term, like Bush’s War on Terror.

I do believe our government should refrain from giving offense, but they could simply call the group by its name, ISIL, and be done with it. Leave it to Muslims and their leaders to condemn ISIL’s version of Islam and explain why it is a perversion of their faith.

Would you listen to a Buddhist explain who is and is not a Christian?

(I blogged about this today, by the way)

  4. geeez2014 says:

FJ: that makes perfect sense, of course. REFORM Muslims might have represented a lot of American people who believe in them and look at them as the ONLY way to conquering islamist extremism. Obama can’t have that, and I’m sure the reformers go against everything the White House employees who are Muslim want. Isn’t that astonishing?

John, it’s like they just think we are FAR too stupid to understand the truth looking right at us. unreal.

SF? I’ll be happy to read your article when I’m back today (gotta run) but we’re only asking MUSLIMS to decide who’s violent and who’s not. We can’t condemn people who beheaded Americans?
As you know, I’m about the only blogger here who doesn’t believe ALL MUSLIMS WANT US DEAD, but to suggest we shouldn’t be condemning it sounds like we don’t know the facts…it is NOT a ‘version of Islam’ …it’s a version of the KORAN………and that’s GOT to be made known so reform can happen. I’ll come by Western Hero later..thanks.

  5. John M. Berger says:

“I’m about the only blogger here who doesn’t believe ALL MUSLIMS WANT US DEAD”
I don’t either but unless and until I see a halt of those joining ISIS and a greater effort on the part of those who don’t “WANT US DEAD”, to defeat those who do, my overall skepticism will remain.

  6. Meanwhile, Al-Azhar University Says, ISIS Not Apostates. Al-Azhar University has some significance:

It is today the chief centre of Arabic literature and Islamic learning in the world.

  7. bunkerville says:

Not to worry. Soon tens of thousands will join their Mexican counterparts here in America to achieve Obama’s dream of a non white, poverty ridden Republic formerly known as the United States of America.

  8. Well, I have to agree that not all Muslims are “potential want us dead” because as I believe I mentioned in an earlier blog both my late Father and Grandfather were warned by a Muslim Turk that they were coming for them the next day and suggested they leave town immediately. This was 100 years ago when they lived in Turkey, where they were both born and lived for generations when it was part of Armenia, so its hard for me not to agree with Z. That being said, however, all countries including America should somehow limit the numbers entering before its too late because its impossible to tell who is and who isn’t a potential terrorist. Its like a cancer that is spreading to every continent on the globe.

  9. Baysider says:

I don’t buy it – not that explanation. I think AOW’s link is more to the point: ISIS isn’t really all that radical to the core messages of Islam. If Johnson’s explanation were true, I think a rational man would be exceedingly anxious to label them as extremists in contrast to ‘mainstream’ Islam, and thus prevent ‘real’ Islam from being tainted by the Islamic State.

  10. John M. Berger says:

    Bunker & Mal,
Ditto; If I could, I would “limit their numbers entering” to zero until such time it becomes clear that [they] offer no further threat. NO, I don’t know how that can be done in our current PC climate. With the exception of certain skills and educational needs, in short supply, I don’t see the need for further immigration until our domestic ‘labor participation’ problem has been solved and we darn sure don’t need to expand the entitlement/welfare debt!

  11. Mustang says:

“The thing I hear from leaders in the Muslim community in this country is ISIL is attempting to hijack my religion.” Jeh Johnson.

He may have actually said that, and leaders in the Moslem community may have actually told him that … but the bottom line is that these Moslem leaders are liars, and Jeh Johnson is providing aid and comfort to the enemy. The word traitor comes to mind … which is precisely what Obama is, too.

  12. geeez2014 says:

John, I’m 100% with you on that (and I did clean up my quickly typed words from before that you quoted, did you notice? 🙂 And ABSOLUTELY…NO MORE MUSLIMS for now…. PERIOD.

bunkerville. I SO hope you’re wrong, but I worry you are definitely NOT WRONG 😦

Mal, it IS like a cancer and I WORRY THAT:

And Mal, remember the muslim who saved the Jews at the Parisian Deli shooting?

Baysider…you don’t buy what? …that the Muslims asked them to keep a lid on it? I DO. Muslims are saying “Jump!” and the WH is saying “How HIGH?!”
And I agree that any rational man should know to contrast….and could if he wasn’t SO afraid of them. THAT is where this White House has to get…FINALLY, to say “Yes, we believe this brand of islam is all about terror and we ask all good muslims to join us in the fight.”:

Mustang, I do believe they’re both TRAITORS. You are correct, as usual 🙂

  13. Impertinent says:

Johnson sickens me…he’s another quisling and a coward for not speaking the truth.
Here’s what I’d have hoped an American who has the guts to face a real enemy would have said:

“Men, all this stuff you’ve heard about America not wanting to fight, wanting to stay out of the war, is a lot of horse dung. Americans traditionally love to fight. All real Americans love the sting of battle. When you were kids, you all admired the champion marble shooter, the fastest runner, big league ball players, the toughest boxers. Americans love a winner and will not tolerate a loser. Americans play to win all the time. I wouldn’t give a hoot in hell for a man who lost and laughed. That’s why Americans have never lost, and will never lose a war… because the very thought of losing is hateful to Americans.”

What are we now? What are are leaders made of when they have to hear BS, pandering and appeasement like this, knowing full well that the Islamists embedded in this government, are driving this cowardice?

  14. Kid says:

There is no part of islam that integrates with any free society. It should be rejected on that basis at the very least. I also don’t believe anything a moslem says because the koran encourages them to lie like rugs to infidels. I hear many of the ones who are here are not paying taxes, not paying back their credit card debt etc. This is exactly what the koran tells them to do – live on the backs of the infidels. I want them all out personally as well as islam no longer recognized as a religion and redefined as a cult.

Our society has no method to deal with them effectively.

They’re calling for mass murder in shopping malls now. Have things gotten better or worse since 9-11. Rhetorical question. And it will only continue to get worse until we mirror the hell holes they’ve created in Europe.

  15. But isn’t all this predicted in the Bible for the end times? Also, the result of our country turning away from God? When we do that, “KA-KA OCCURS!”

  16. geeez2014 says:

SilverFiddle does have a good post and a mostly good conversation going on…I wrote way too long, but I think it’s pertinent.

Kid, you and I don’t agree on the fact that I know there are muslims who don’t mean us harm, but on everything else I totally agree with you.

Mal…turning away from God…..someone ought to do a graph showing our culture starting from the earliest times in America till now….there’d be a total correlation of lines on the chart…going DOWN together,….one line showing the times when we started taking God out of schools, prayer gone, fighting the 10 Commandments at courts, stopping taking kids to religious training….and the other line showing the decline in our culture…abortions, drugs, etc.

Of course, the biggest problem is the lefties who’ll say “How is abortion or drugs or encouraging transgender children, etc etc ETC, SO bad?” that’s a HUGE dilemma.

  17. Silverfiddle says:

Z: Thanks for the linky love!

  18. FB says:

Now I think it’s because it’s another crisis to exploit. Maybe some people find ISIS convenient. Maybe they think it’ll trigger another massive war and we’ll sell more weapons. So we may as well let it spread really bad until for example ISIS goes to Turkey and threatens Europe more. Or maybe Satan is at work via ISIS and God knows Evil is in government. Maybe I’m too much into conspiracy but I’m not seeing a lot of urgency against those SOBs.

  19. Mustang says:
I have to say that Americans have an interesting set of morons running our government. One of my favorites is John McCain, who first wanted to send taxpayer-funded arms to “Free Syrian Rebels” to help them defeat al-Asad. I wondered then why John McCain was so interested in helping Sunnis defeat a non-Sunni regime. I wondered this because I could not recall the last time the US was attacked by Syrian forces. Well, it was because al-Asad used chemical weapons on the Syrian rebels —but as it turns out, this isn’t true either. It was an Al Qaeda group that employed chemical agents against al-Asad’s army and, typical of most Moslems, they didn’t account for shifting wind conditions. And then we learned that the Free Syrian Rebels that excited McCain so much was actually ISIS in their infancy. I wondered then why McCain isn’t in a maximum security prison.

I remain confused about the motivation for the USA (John McCain/Lindsey Graham) to involve itself in Islamic sectarianism. Why are we taking sides at all? Why are we supporting any Sunni effort at anything? ISIS is Sunni. Al Qaeda is Sunni. The Moslem Brotherhood is Sunni. Wahhabis is Sunni. By supporting the Sunni against al-Asad, are we saying that we prefer to lend our support to the Shi’a of Iran? If we oppose Iranian Shi’a, does this mean we are the useful idiots helping ISIS kill us?

What this should lead us to is this conclusion: no one inside the beltway is smart enough to figure out Middle Eastern politics. If we don’t understand Middle Eastern politics, wouldn’t it be better to stay out of it? As Kid and I were discussing this a week or so ago, we came to an agreement. The bombs we are using in the air campaign are way too small.

  20. Impertinent says:

@Mustang…as our bounty of boobs & bubbleheads in state would say…”that may be too nuanced for some”. There’s only one solution to ISIS….ONE.

  21. silverfiddle says:

Mustang: A cogent summary. You have a much better grasp that Obama’s laughing gas girls or anyone else in his government.

  22. Impertinent says:

Kids say the darndest things, don’t they?

  23. Mustang, “Does this mean we are the useful idiots helping ISIS kill us”. Was it Pogo that said “We have met the enemy and it is us?”

  24. geeez2014 says:

Imp; I’d like to meet that young man’s parents, wouldn’t you? I’d slobber on them in appreciation and delight; WOW. They taught him WELL. UNBELIEVABLE!! Thanks for posting that!

Mustang…what can we say? you do know more about this than most and I wish more people could read your expertise.

FB; The thing about weapons is that so fewer weapons need to be used these days. I’m not sure we’ll ever fight a war for that anymore.
Imp’s right…………it should only take ONE.

Mal… IS us, at least it’s OUR leadership (God help us!)

  25. Mustang says:

    Pogo for President.

  26. Impertinent says:

“Does Obama lie to Americans because he loves them? Does he weaken America abroad because he loves it? And if Obama loves America, what does he love about it and how does he show that love? Does he love the Constitution? If he did, he wouldn’t constantly violate it. Does he love Americans? Which Americans? The ones whose health plans he took away for ObamaCare or the ones whose jobs he took away to legalize illegal aliens? The ones whose votes and wishes he ignores and snidely mocks?”

    Worth the read friends…

  27. You people have all been distracted from the big picture:
does Scott Walker believe in evolution?

  28. Imp: good read.
    Does Obama love America?
When a man beats his wife, we pretty much agree that he doesn’t love her.
Not with the meaning of love that is commonly accepted.
    No psychiatric exam.
    He doesn’t love her.
Obama needs to stop slapping America around.
    We need a restraining order.

  29. Impertinent says:

ISIS has us all jumping around like stupid puppets on a string. Mall of America…then what? Bus Stops, any or all 7-11’s? Movie Theaters? Mobile Gas stations? parking lots? Sub ways? Train Stations? College Campus? Schools?

Maybe he’d like us all to hide in place.

  30. Impertinent says:

““Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views.”
    Ain’t that the truth.

  31. Mustang says:

ISIS has us all jumping around like stupid puppets

That’s how terrorism works, Imp. Now for all those people in Minnesota that laughed when conservatives sounded a warning bell about the danger from within … I wonder if they’re laughing now. There are 330 million people living in our country today (discounting illegal Obamaites); Somali Moslem taxi drivers may refuse to carry you in their cab if you are wearing a crucifix, but there is no way those bastards can kill us all. BTW, isn’t Minnesota one of those states that hates for citizens to carry guns?

  32. Baysider says:

    “Baysider…you don’t buy what?”
This explanation smells. I think he wants us to believe that Obama is doing this because peaceful muslims want him to. While I think this group walks him like a dog on a leash, it makes no sense that they want to not have him speak out on the Islamic state. Even if they’re FOR the IS they would make more headway by denouncing it and gaining more credibility from the rest of us.

    Just like this story:
I was encouraged by the weekend’s story of 1300 Muslims who joined to protect a synagogue in Oslo. Breitbart exposed it as a hoax of 20 people and organized by a virulent anti-semite. A media event to accomplish precisely what I’m talking about above.

  33. Baysider says:

Kid said “There is no part of islam that integrates with any free society.” I’m reading a book, White Gold, about the 1 million European slaves in Africa, in the Islamic crescent across the top. Oh boy, is Kid’s comment SO TRUE. I have to give you a book report when we have lunch this week. I think I will start putting a few stickies in key parts. Man!

  34. geeez2014 says:

Baysider, I disagree; I think it’s astonishing that Johnson would even mention that “muslim leaders” want him quiet on “violent extremism” because it makes the president look exactly like he’s being led around by the nose, and HE IS. I believe those leaders never want to admit any Muslim could be this horrid and so if the Pres said so, they’d be furious.
if they were really SMART they’d admit extremism is horrid and, as muslims, they want to help stop it…but their pride can’t get them there.
And yes, let’s meet in the courtyard on Thursday after the lecture, OK?

Imp and Mustang; That’s what bugs me the MOST…that feeling like the scum has AMERICA REACTING instead of ACTING…
I didn’t know that islam is the third largest religion in America after Christianity and Judaism…
    But it apparently is.
    How nice, huh? (not)

Ed, I LOVE your dialogue there…we DO need a restraining order; WELL SAID!!!

  35. Impertinent says:

@Muatang….”isn’t Minnesota one of those states that hates for citizens to carry guns?”

Tee hee… it is friend…there’s a movement on now to allow people to carry in the mall…..but the weak kneed pacifists ( knowingly make the Mall another “gun Safe” zone / aka killers welcome ) are fighting it.

“The terrorist threat against the nation’s largest shopping mall over the weekend has led one state lawmaker to announce plans to challenge the Mall of America’s policy prohibiting patrons from carrying firearms inside.
State Rep. Tony Cornish, the Republican chairman of the Minnesota House of Representative Public Safety Committee, told WCCO in Minnesota on Sunday that the threat by the North African terrorist group al-Shabab showed the mall’s policy is misguided.

“This is completely ridiculous. The complete opposite of what they should be doing,” Cornish said. “If we’re threatened with an attack, the last thing you want to do is disarm citizens.”
The mall currently bans all patrons from carrying firearms inside on the grounds that it’s private property. Under Cornish’s proposal, firearms would be allowed in public areas of the mall, while individual stores would have the option of prohibiting guns if they chose.”

So unarmed sheeple are welcome to the mall…..making them as usual easy targets with no means to protect themselves. Ya think the Mall owners are going to hire a militia to do the job then?

When they attack…this will make Mumbai and Kenya look like a playground.

  36. Baysider says:

Well, I think the Muslim groups Obama’s in contact with are dissimulators. So I think it goes beyond pride to not want to acknowledge what’s going on with the IS. But trickery should be acceptable enough for them to put the spotlight on the IS. I do think there are many just regular, American muslims. But these Trojan Horses are not among them.

Yes, let’s meet up in the courtyard. I usually walk. Shall we drive – with you?

  37. Impertinent says:

@Z..”makes the president look exactly like he’s being led around by the nose”…

Perhaps led around by his true identity, resume and background? Maybe they really know who he is who paid for his Paki trips and Indonesian upbringing….maybe they have the documents and goods on the mutt and are willing to expose him? I truly believe someone has the goods on him…someone somewhere has it in a nice safe place. Which might explain his reluctance to call ISLIME what it is.

  38. Impertinent says:

How many here think we’ll have another 911 or worse before the end of the year?

  39. Baysider says:

I think we’ll see more of the series of one- or two-cell hit-and-runs inspired by all the videos of the violence floating around out there. Random, unpredictable, without leadership, hierarchy but probably not dossiers in police files. Very hard to stop, and especially in countries where the police hardly carry weapons. I don’t think it will fly in Texas. Not after one or two run into an armed citizen.

  40. Imp,
How many here think we’ll have another 911 or worse before the end of the year?

    Very likely, IMO.

  41. People still shop at malls?
I went a few years ago for Lencrafters, saw the no gun sign and haven’t been back.

  42. Kid says:

IMP, I think capitalism will solve this problem. When the stores in that mall have 90%+ fewer customers, they will break. And if people go spend their money there while being forced to be disarmed then they deserve what they get. Life’s lessons are often painful.

  43. Impertinent says:

@Bay…”He was soon captured outside a nearby fast-food restaurant, deputies said.”

Yea…there was a sale on chicken wings.

  44. Impertinent says:

@Kid…we’re talking about Minnesota remember? Frozen brains that don’t thaw out until August. I think half on Minneapolis lives there too.
