We had news of the TSA last week, which I think we were all made even more nervous by (67 of 70 ‘fake’ bombs, etc., were not found by agents, so the real stuff could very well have got on any flight). Today, we have news that not only has that been happening, but:
“THE TSA HAS FAILED TO DISQUALIFY 73 AIRLINE WORKERS ON TERROR WATCH LISTS.” ON TERROR WATCH LISTS!!?
Ready for this information from the article? On the heels of Transportation Security Administration workers flunking a security test at airport checkpoints, the results of a new audit show that — while the agency keeps a robust system for screening commercial airport workers — it still failed to flag 73 airport workers “linked to terrorism.” (Z: what’s ‘robust’ about that failure?) Apparently, TSA does not have access to all the terror watchlist information it needs to make those judgments. (Z: “need” being the operative word in that sentence.)
Obviously, people not on watch lists can be potential terrorists and they could lie and appear like a good ol’ American who loves his country and plan a terrible breach in our airline systems and cause havoc. But to not have noticed workers, and that many of them, who ARE ON terror watch lists?
America’s being hacked in dangerous ways (they’re suggesting now that our really highly secret information is at risk), we have a muslim terrorist group beheading Americans, we have SO much going on where we’re apparently CLUELESS and DEFENSELESS, and now we can’t be assured that we at least don’t have possible terrorists working on airlines? When we have them on lists?
Can any of you even imagine hiring people on terrorist watch lists for AIRLINES?
