jeb bush

So, JEB has officially announced his candidacy for the presidency.

Positives about him?  Negatives about him?  What do you think?

Something just occurred to me that I’ve not heard before:   Bush/Rubio ticket?

That dope, Geraldo, is on THE FIVE inferring that you’d better speak Spanish to run for the presidency….you can’t make this stuff up.

  2. It was a good speech-but…………………………
I can’t wait to see what Mustang has to say. Yeah, Geraldo is irritating to say the least.

  3. Mustang says:
I personally think that a bilingual president is a plus, but Jeb’s proficiency in Spanish and his affinity for Hispanic culture leads many to conclude that he intends grant immunity to millions of illegal Hispanics. I also find it interesting that Bush classified himself as Hispanic on a 2009 voter registration form. Look, there is nothing wrong with being Hispanic. Not at all, and it is true that Rubio’s story is very compelling. Personally, however, I am looking for an American President, rather than another hyphenated quest for social justice. Plus, Common Core sucks. At this stage, I have no idea who I will support for the presidency. Now, if Kid would enter the race, I’d announce my support of his campaign immediately. No monetary support, of course, but I would put a Kid 2016 sticker on my neighbor’s bumper.

  4. geeez2014 says:

“on my neighbor’s bumper”. Mustang, that is HILARIOUS!

Yes, we certainly can’t elect a president whose only good points are HE SPEAKS SPANISH, whether GERALDO thinks so or not! (What talent does that guy have, anyway? He’s like the Kim Kardashian of FOX…come to think of it)

I don’t like Common Core, either, but I know very conservative teachers who’ve decided they like the way some of the stuff’s taught. I don’t quite understand how Bush can be FOR that and FOR vouchers, but.. that, I was glad he included in today’s speech; Come to think of it, I think he mentioned vouchers and not COmmon Core.

I don’t think his Hispanic family /language means he’s going to give immunity to millions of illegals but he’ll certainly find a ‘softer’ way to lead them to legalization.

Mustang, what about Bush/Rubio? I’m a Walker fan, but he’s suddenly disappeared rather like Paul Ryan did on the Romney ticket.

  5. I think that Jeb Bush’s bid for the Oval Office is more of the tired, old crap — that is, “It’s ______________ turn now.”

Is our republic supposed to be about taking turns?

  6. Mustang says:

    What about Bush/Rubio?

I like Rubio. I really do. I do not know of another politician as articulate and sincere as he, but I think he is too young and too new to national politics for the presidency. Moreover, I would hate to see Rubio leave the Senate at this stage (leaving Florida in the hands of Slug Nelson) except if I thought Attorney General Pam Bondi would run for Rubio’s seat.

Walker’s delay in announcing his candidacy is the budgetary process in Wisconsin. I think he will announce at the end of June, or early July.

  7. Imp says:

I wanted to take a minute to thank all of my friends here for their prayers, condolences, support and concern for my family these past two weeks and more. We had the Funeral for my sister Friday, June 12. The pain has stopped, our love for her never will, and she’s now at peace.

    God Bless you all.

  8. Z’s mind must run in the same circle as mine because just this a.m. I was thinking it might be good for two of the dozen candidates for the GOP to get together and run as a team AHEAD of time and separate themselves from the pack. I had no one particular in mind, just the concept. Two (great?) minds run in the same circles! 🙂

  9. geeez2014 says:

AOW: I think we might want to put that family thing behind us. Bush has done a pretty good job as governor and I don’t know why he shouldn’t capitalize on that. I agree that we don’t want anybody just because they’re in some family line, but ….
It makes me laugh, however, when the Left titters over “JEB” saying he’s not using his last name, when every Hillary advertisement is HILLARY, not HILLARY CLINTON.
The thing is, Bush is far far from perfect, but he’s closer to perfect than a woman like Hillary who has NO good track record .
She’s now running not on that lousy record but some ridiculous future for America that’s so fraught with socialism it takes our breaths away. At least Jeb isn’t THAT, right?
By the way, I’d not pick him today if I had to vote….It’d be between Rubio, Walker…Carson.

Mustang, the age thing works for him; if he did take VP and win, and if things went well (how, I can’t imagine), he’d be on the upswing as president, no problem, but you make a good point about the senate and I think he’s very articulate and sincere, too.
I still like the idea of both of them together.

Imp: You’re family…not “OT”….but thanks so much for coming by. We miss you and have been praying and hope that pain continues to subside……you know it’ll never be totally gone, but time does help. God bless you and your family. You were a terrific brother to her.

Mal; there is a kind of interesting concept to two hooking up at this point. I’d suggest it could happen kind of loosely, but the big money donors wouldn’t stand for ‘maybe’…they’d have to have it solidified; so since they really can’t do that, I guess that idea won’t work. Well, Armenian minds ARE GREAT, right!? 🙂 Still, I like the idea of the two of them.
Of course, Walker/Rubio or vice versa, is good, too.

Imagine any of these younger guys debating the old shrill hillary? I LOVE THAT VISION IN MY MIND!

  10. Z,
I wasn’t referring exactly to the dynasty thing when I spoke of the taking-turns attitude.

There was somewhat of that attitude with running Romney’s run for the Oval Office — and even John McCain’s run.

Hillary is trying to capitalize on the it’s-a-woman’s-turn thing, just as Obama capitalized on the it’s-an-African American’s-turn thing.

In my view, good governance does not result taking turns per se. It is a matter of experience and good leadership at an executive or legislative level. Let us recognize and reward people for what they have accomplished instead of for who they are.

  11. I believe that name recognition and vague positive feelings about that name will be two main factors in the coming election.

Many who vote don’t look at any details about candidates other than Party affiliation and, worse, vote based upon “I know that name and recall this sound byte about that name!” In that regard, the media will play yet again a huge role in our National Election.

  12. Sparky says:

I will not vote for another Bush. Jeb is just another Country Club Republican (i.e. Socialist). I take voting very seriously and consider it a priviledge to do so but if it’s Bush or Clinton next election, for the first time in my life I’ll stay home and won’t vote.

  13. geeez2014 says:

AOW: I’m sorry…I thought you meant the legacy thing. I COMPLETELY agree with you. I didn’t expect her to be QUITE so ‘out there’ on the woman thing because any thinking person her age ought to realize that’s a very weak stance. Or maybe her polling of leftwingers shows what we know; Not much thinking going on there.

Sparky, I like you, so do me a favor and never tell me you finally didn’t vote if it does come down to Bush, PROMISE? I respect you and I have to admit I don’t respect the stance. We got OBAMA last time folks didn’t vote for Romney for not being Conservative ENOUGH…America won’t last another five years with Hillary in power….maybe Bush’ll get us another ten years on top of that. Particularly with a Republican congress keeping him relatively straight.

  14. Kid says:

IMP, It’s nice to hear from you. I’m glad you and yours are feeling more peace and comfort than not now.

  15. Kid says:

Well, it’s like this. The Blue states will vote blue and the Red states will vote read, and the Swing states will be subject to fraudulent vote tallying. Slam Bam Thank Ya Ma’am. Next.

  16. lisa says:

    No Bush/No Clinton
Who excites me now is Carson/Fiorina . I really would have Supported Allen West also.
Sparky why not just pull the lever for Hillary? Staying home is not an option for me

  17. lisa says:

Imp I am so sorry for the loss of your sister. My sincere condolences to you and your family.
Sorry I just saw this now

  18. geeez2014 says:

Kid, that is a HUGE problem; and the Left (as they have the last elections on the blogs) accuse Republicans of the shenanigans when 90% of any evidence points to the left. So funny! They just won’t admit…

Lisa….that excites me, too…BIG TIME. What a different country, what a better country, but….NEVER HAPPEN, sadly.

  19. Bob says:

Mustang said, “except if I thought Attorney General Pam Bondi would run for Rubio’s seat.”

I want one of those “Kid For President” bumper stickers, too.

  20. Bob says:

I like Jeb Bush. I have always thought he was a very good guy, and that I would vote for him. but, he has to show me something worth while. like, some new ideas and some fire in his belly. It seems like everybody running for office is really boring, especially that old, ugly, rich white woman, HIllary Clinton.

  21. Imp. Condolences. Don’t know what else to say.

  22. Lisa:
My friend wrote about Carly on my blog:
    Pascal FervorJune 10, 2015 at 2:59 AM
Yes. Had the California GOP not been undermined by the GOPe backed closet Democrat in the statehouse (Schwarzenegger), Chuck Devore would have won the GOP nomination for senate. Here is one commentary from that time.

In that one story alone, by a conservative rabbi, is revealed the many ways Fiorina is not what she is aiming to appear to be today. The media and the GOPe makes sure that nobody out of California knows the details of her Prog activities. And I am sure I don’t need to tell Always On Watch how most people have short memories to begin with.

  23. Mustang:
    Nothing wrong with Hispanics.
I was trimming the hedges and mowing my grass when I realized that I was born to
I realized the source of my unhappiness. I was living a lie.
I no longer identify with being Ukranian.

I’ve decided that if Bruce Jenner can call himself a woman,
Rachel Dolezal can pretend to be black and is an NAACP leader (!),
then I’m going to be Mexican (I’ve got Rodriguez relatives) and join La Raza.
From now on you must refer to me as a Mexican.

From now on, my vote will be sought by presidential candidates and not taken for granted.
    I may get special status.

But for now I have to “press 2”.

    You anglos tick me off.

But I am still your neighbor:
    Vote for me.

  24. Kid says:

    Bob. Lol.
I have heard your pleas and I have responded. Find your bumper sticker here.

The campaign is in it’s fetal stages and there will be No Abortion ! I have decided to Serve !

  25. lisa says:

Thanks Ed,I will read that tomorrow and comment back

  26. What about Bush/Rubio?

“I like Rubio.

I think he will announce at the end of June, or early July.”

    What about a Walker/Rubio ticket ?

  27. Kid says:

    What about a Cruz/Kid ticket ? Or a Kid/Cruz ticket?

  28. “What about a Cruz/Kid ticket ? Or a Kid/Cruz ticket?”

It beats the $#!T out of anything else that I’ve heard about lately.

  29. geeez2014 says:

Bob, that information from Freerepublic, of all places, might have some truth in it (uncharacteristically), but I believe Fiorina’s a straighter shooter than that. By the way, you’d be very hard pressed to find one executive who hasn’t paid shake down money to Jesse Jackson; I’ve been told by folks who know that that IS how he lives; screwing Black folks who are giving companies/unions trouble.
AND, she hasn’t a chance in hell to win BUT she shakes Hillary down pretty darn well..THAT, I like, right? She can screech at Hillary forever and never be called a ‘woman hater’! I honestly believe the GOP might be using her exactly for that reason…have for a few months. !!

  30. Imp says:

This ain’t Jeb or Marco……this is why I like Paul…or Gowdy:

  31. geeez2014 says:

Oh, Imp! it’s all “the heat of partisanship”…Hillary is innocent! Right? (Smile) “I believe in transparency”?
When did she EVER take responsibility for the deaths like Paul suggests? I missed that one.

  32. geeez2014 says:

The Obamas apparently paid to bring in Prince and Stevie Wonder to the WH for a private party of friends and family.
Here’s a tweet from the multimillion dollar tax cheater who is close enough to them to get invited. :
    “Reverend Al Sharpton ✔@TheRevAl
Leaving the White House party w/POTUS and FLOTUS. Awesome to see Prince and Stevie Wonder on keyboards together. Unbelievable experience”

Z: Ya, unbelievable experience……now you should be in jail.
