Cards: Soldiers and Scripture….Have you seen this??

You might have seen this before, and I think I had ages ago, but I thought it was worth watching again today.   Just the idea of a young man finding this so important is touching.  “Card playing with Christianity?”  Yes!  No gambling here, no telling the future….just an astonishing talent with cards and the clear desire to represent his beliefs in an amusing, catchy way.

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” 2nd Corinthians 3:17

Let’s hope young people,  more and more, recognize the sacrifices of our military, love America this much, and love God as much as this young man does.  Kind of appropriate this day before the Fourth.   I’m afraid you won’t find a very cheerful blog here tomorrow, but I do hope you come by!

See you on the Fourth!  (bring Kleenex :-))

  1. That is neat, Z. I hadn’t seen it before. Have you ever watched “The Carbanaro Effect” on TV? He is a magician and is really good. He is on TruTV on some evenings.

  2. Ooops! Its spelled Carbonaro.

  3. Pretty good stuff. Bears repeating.

  4. No rainbow pride flag there.

Wow, I’m really struck by this. It is absolutely 180 degrees from everything I learned about the history of playing cards, or “the devil’s picture book” as the Puritans called them. While I don’t think it changes the history, it’s amazing that their meaning could be so re-constructed as to be used to worship God!

Baysider, it truly is. I don’t look at it as evil, but as my post said “No gambling here, no telling the future….just an astonishing talent with cards and the clear desire to represent his beliefs in an amusing, catchy way.” Just finished off the cookies..>DELICIOUS and thanks again!

    Ed,no…no rainbow pride flag. Hurrah.

Mal…I love spaghetti a la carbonara…but that’s different, right? (Smile)

Loved the card story, Z. Church and country. They are both under assault. The latter is in tatters. The former, not even the gates of hell can overpower it. Certainly not obama and his ilk.

Baysider, they’re really nice nights, aren’t they? I’m enjoying them, too. Great people, too.

Jerry; well said! AMEN TO THAT 🙂
