President Joe Biden?

biden 3

Does he have a CHANCE?

Let’s talk about it…………….very interesting to consider.

From THIS article:  “Though he recently suffered the loss of his son Beau, the death was not unexpected, and Biden was soon back in circulation. His son, who died of brain cancer, urged him to run; throwing his hat into the ring might pay genuine homage to Beau’s memory.

President Obama is known to be very fond of his vice president, to whom he has frequently turned for help with Congress, and with voters. He is not fond of Hillary, and the Beltway gossip mills for months have suggested that the White House is quietly engineering Hillary’s defeat.”

Focusing on all that Obama conjecture, or putting it entirely aside, what do you think are Biden’s chances of running instead of Hillary…or actually being elected?

  1. Confabulating Joe as POTUS? I think not!

    About confabulation:

Confabulation (verb: confabulate) is a memory disturbance, defined as the production of fabricated, distorted or misinterpreted memories about oneself or the world, without the conscious intention to deceive….

    […]

Most known cases of confabulation are symptomatic of brain damage…such as aneurysm…

Joe Biden has had two known aneurysms — dating back to 1988.

I bring up confabulation because Mr. AOW had a bad case of it for several months after his stroke. He still has to fight the tendency to confabulate.

  2. Confabulation or not, he’s creepy .around women with inappropriate touching.
He’s demonstrably wrong on every foreign policy issue he’s opined on.
Forign policy is supposed to be his forte.
He’s closely attached to Obama’s domestic policies, which we know to be harmful.
He’ll have the media covering for him.
    He’s a shoe in.

I don’t give Biden a pass because he likely has organically-based brain issues.

Will the Democratic Party seriously consider running Biden as a candidate for POTUS?

  5. Sorry, AOW. Previous comment not a reply to you.
    This is.
I wasn’t suggesting that you were excusing Biden with confabulation, just acknowledging that I read your comments, which I agree with.

  6. AOW asks “Will the Democratic Party seriously consider running Biden as a candidate for POTUS?”.
I heard a guy on the radio telling the host that he was sick of the Republican PArty force feeding us non-conservative candidates.
Mark Davis replied that the party doesn’t make those decisions.
The convention caucusing back room cigar smoke candidates are a thing of the past.
We, and they (the dems), get who we primary.
Sure, the deep pocket donors have a say as to presentation (along with a complicit media), but the party doesn’t run someone. They get behind someone.
So if by your (and by extension Z’s) question, “will the dems run Biden?” you mean will the left support him in a primary run? He has the implicit Obama support and is more charming than Hillary.
And he is less indictable at the moment 🙂
    Would he win?
I said, “He’s a shoe in” in a humorous way, but it’s not so funny.

The mere chance that a nut like Biden could be considered for POTUS should be stunning but I guess that we are used to it by now! I always thought of Biden (VP) as a form of life insurance for the current Fraud-in-Chief and nothing more, whatsoever.

Ed,,,,:”The convention caucusing back room cigar smoke candidates are a thing of the past.”
I’ve said on my blog for years that smoke filled rooms are greatly underrated…..it got people TALKING. Conventions are one thing, all are the same party and so talk isn’t THAT big a deal, but when the Congressional representatives all lived in Washington (when it wasn’t so easy to get home every weekend so most moved TO Washington over the years), they smoked and drank together, partied together with their wives, went to school events for their kids…all different parties, all being civil. This ability to NOT live in D.C. is another BIG PROBLEM. People don'[t TALK.

AOW….yes, confabulation is still happening from time to time with ol’ Joe…and with Ed’s list of gaffes we’ve all seen over the years, and the video that jarred us all a few years back, I’d have THOUGHT there was NO WAY Joe could run; but those were the days when these things would be exposed again not just to and by Conservatives but to everyone, because our media USED TO cover stories fairly, with less bias. It was an unspoken rule. Not any more.

And I think he is a possible ‘shoe in’, by the way.

SF…I’m with you; I’d take Biden over Hillary ANY ANY ANY day…I do believe he loves this country.

JMB…it IS amazing how much we can being inured to, isn’t it….after ALL the gaffes, how COULD he be considered seriously…but he will be.

Woodster; I’d laugh at your very clever comment but it IS too true to be funny….in normal days, we’d have howled.

I agree with Silverfiddle that at least Biden has America’s best interest at heart. I was unaware of his brain issues. How did he ever get into public office with that? I had always considered him a yo-yo but never knew about his confabulation problems. THAT’S all we need, folks! i mean, is that the best the left can come up with? Actually, given the direction his party has taken us I don’t believe they have any chance in 2016 no matter WHO they select to run. Meanwhile, Donald keeps gaining momentum from the left, right, and the middle despite anything he says, and the left tries to belittle him which doesn’t work, either. The more he is attacked, the stronger he gets. Why? Because people are tired of politics as usual and want REAL change, not what Obama’s change turned out to be. They are actually looking at the candidates accomplishments instead of simply accepting them based on their speeches.

    EVERYBODY:
Did you all see Debbie Wasserman Schultz say on Matthews’ show that “the Democrats are a BIG TENT PARTY, unlike the Republcians”?
I almost howled laughing in my car when I heard that…..”ya, Deb…..you have about 4 nominees, we have about 20, all of whom have varying ideas on how to solve the problems in America (thanks to you Dems) and YOU have the BIG TENT?” 🙂
She also found it SO DIFFICULT to justify an avowed Socialist like Sanders speaking at the Dem National Convention….AOW’s blog covered this and that made me laugh, too…….I was surprised Matthews even thought there WAS a difference in his party and Socialism.

Does anybody here remember when Chris Matthews actually had pretty centrist opinions? Mr Z and I liked him back in the day for that….. Wow, has he changed, though he was laughing that Debbie would allow a Socialist like Bernie to speak in prime time at the DNC Convention!

Well, Hillary is sinking – now. And HE is all political animal in the clubbish sense. Perfect for Obama because of his deep relationships with Senate – which O was totally lacking in. That is the ONLY explanation in my book of how he ended up at VEEP – especially after saying Obama was the first articulate, bright and clean black candidate.

As a long-time member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations he was shockingly ignorant of some of the most basic facts on the ground vis-a-vis our own neighbors in South America. Confabulation or not, he’s just a pretty face who’s embedded in the political club. The horror of someone ‘going after’ Obama has always been magnified by the prospect of this dolt succeeding him. I believe many have mused that he’s a life insurance policy, of sorts, for Mr. O.

and I hope, that in November, 2016, you come and say “See Z! The Republicans WON!” but I pray to God it won’t be Donald “I’m so rich” Trump.
Do you know he was emailing Hugh Hewitt, the talk show host, about why he couldn’t come speak to him the other day and said something like “Hugh, I’ll come next week, this week I’m in Great Britain at a golf course (WHICH I OWN) watching a tournament”/ “WHICH I OWN”…gad, does he EVER stop loving himself and what he’s got?

Something happens that gives obummer a chance to declare Martial Law, in which case there WILL be a revolution. 2. Donald the braggart asshole Trump manages to BUY the Republican primary. 3. Same asshole as #2 loses primary but runs as an independent or 3rd party candidate because he is such an egomaniacle asshole.

In all 3 scenarios it won’t matter whether Clinton, Biden, or Sanders is the demon.

The reason I (and probably others) like him is because he not only can take what the left will sling at him like they did Palin and Romney, but also dish it back, and I also believe they would have a certain amount of restraint due to fear of backlash from the guy. Drastic situations require drastic measures, and boy! are we in drastic times right now. The Left has had a field day with the Right the past 6 or 7 years and the “Trumpet”
