In my community??? Well, it’s down the road a bit, but obama is in Michigan today giving away promises of free community college… You mean like that, Z? Free stuff!!!

  2. Jerry. Get with the program.

  3. Bible study resumes tonight.
I get my truck back from the shop tonight for 100s less than it could have been.
Jesus is still on the throne and promises to come down here and straighten things out.
    Four day work week.

Best news I can share is that we’re now at the peak of the Atlantic hurrycane season and haven’t had a storm on the Gulf Coast yet. In fact, we haven’t had a ‘cane here in P’cola since Ivan, 10 years ago (knock wood). Did have that massive flood last year, tho, that nearly wiped me out.

Also, none of our children or grandchildren are deceased, in jail, or addicted to narcotics. We owe no one money, own the house clear, and have retirement incomes with cash reserves in the bank. Wife & I still able to walk, work, drive, and take care of ourselves.

Ain’t ‘zactly news, but it’s purty damned good from this ol’ country boy’s perspective.

  5. Yesterday, the neurologist gave Mr. AOW an order for more physical therapy. It’s been a few years since he’s had PT, so he’s looking forward to another try for improvement to his gait.

I’m loving these…thanks! (OK, not loving JERRY’S!!…Ed’s right, Jer…GET WITH THE PROGRAM :-))

    Ed, great list!

bocopro…can I come move in with you?!

AOW…that is REALLY REALLY GOOD NEWS! Thanks for that…I’m so glad.

  7. John M. Berger says:

Yea, I just got a notice from my credit union. My credit card now has a [positive] balance of $97.

    Lt. Cmdr. Wesley Modder Exonerated!

The Pink Mafia was handed a decisive defeat in our ongoing cultural wars. Chaplain has won his battle against the saboteurs in the Navy who purposely tried to scuttle his career for the heinous charge of delivering Biblical counseling to sailors.

This is truly a cause to celebrate!

The best way to celebrate, imho, is to contribute to the Liberty Institute who fought and won this case for him. Send them a thank you note with some money attached so they can continue their great work.

Laughter is the best news, Z – God gave it to us, and we haven’t lost it.
This one from Comedy Plus is worth passing on:

    A Retired Persons Perspective:
    * I’m not saying let’s go kill all the stupid people. I’m just saying let’s remove all the warning labels and let the problem work itself out.
    * I changed my car horn to gunshot sounds. People move out of the way much faster now.
    * You can tell a lot about a woman’s mood just by her hands. If they are holding a gun, she’s probably pretty upset.
    * Gone are the days when girls cooked like their mothers. Now they drink like their fathers.
    * You know that tingly little feeling you get when you really like someone you’ve just met? That’s common sense leaving your body.
    * I don’t like making plans for the day. Because then the word “premeditated” gets thrown around in the courtroom.
    * I didn’t make it to the gym today. That makes 1,500 days in a row.
    * I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
    * Dear paranoid people who check behind shower curtains for murderers. If you find one, what’s your plan?
    * Everyone has a right to be stupid. Politicians just abuse the privilege.

    Hat tip: Jerry T.

My wife and I visited a wonderful friend who bought us dinner, gave us a card and a book on Modigliani for our anniversary.

    Life is good!

  11. I got outta bed this morning…

  12. Mustang says:
I feel closer to the Almighty every single day, and I mean this in every possible way you can imagine. I feel blessed by friends that I have had for more than 35 years; equally blessed by friends whom I’ve never met, but who nevertheless enrich my life. They know who they are; one of them runs this blog, another drives a yellow mustang, and then there is my littermate Kid, who is helping me to get rich through his near-genius 503(c) scams. By the way, Kid and I are working on a new project … if an apple a day keeps the doctor away, what will it take to get the government to mind its own business? As soon as we figure this out, we’ll sell it to you.

  13. geeez2014 says:

    JMB; that’s a good thing 🙂

Silverfiddle…thanks for this fantastic update! This is really good news. And I hope people learned their lesson for even trying to hurt this man for those reasons!

Alec, these are very funny! Thanks a LOT!!!
So many of them are SO GOOOD!

Ray, my something good is that i had friends who’d detour all the way here so we could all get together 🙂 And a friend who’d drive all the way here, hours and hours, to be with me six years ago.

Vrag; How OLD are you? 🙂

Mustang; Funny, I often talk about the ‘friend I’ve never met but is such a good friend’….the friend whose flowers were the first I rec’d when Mr. Z passed.

FRIENDS ARE A VERY VERY GOOD THING, aren’t they, everybody.

  14. Jules says:

I started MMA workouts. I’m well on my way to finally realizing my dream of becoming a human weapon. I don’t know if that counts as good news …. 🙂

  15. geeez2014 says:

Jules, it counts as good news except for the poor chump who tries to attack you ! Enjoy!

  16. Kid says:

Well, nothing spectacular here, but like Bocopro, able to handle the bills and emergencies, immediate family and pets are healthy and happy. More and more it is obvious that if you have your health, you have a lot more than you generally think.
I enjoy my work and have the uncanny ability to completely ignore news and opinion from ‘them’. Friends who know who they are are a big plus, and lastly, Mustang hasn’t told me kiss off yet.

@SF, Thanks for that bit of news. Nice to hear about a win.

  17. Lisa says:

Same here kid everyone healthy and happy.Oh and I fired my accountant and got someone for 1/3 the price. Since I am an LLC I do not have the luxury of doing them myself

  18. geeez2014 says:

Kid….health is all that really matters, isn’t it. So many are hurting and we forget that and take our own good health for granted.
Wait; you wouldn’t care if I TOLD YOU TO KISS OFF? 😦 !!!!

Lisa…great price there! Thanks for that good news! “healthy and happy”….great!

I’m off to a new printer on a business idea; Please, someone, if you can just utter a quick prayer that all goes REALLY smoothly and well for me. Thanks!!!
THAT will be a REALLY “GOOD” THING!

  19. baysider says:

I was heart warming to read. It’s been bad news all about, from dentists, to the heat & humidity, to a summer cold, to Mr. B’s back, to termites. (I think they call that life?) But …. we’ve had 2 lovely walks in high surf at the end of the day this week with a yummy coconut drink. And I’m particularly enjoying a project I’m working on now for a client. Hope to repeat surf tonight if I get back in time.
    Alex, loved the lines, too.

  20. baysider says:

And SF – Hallelujah! But who will guide the next generation?

  21. jerrydablade says:

Haha!! I got nuttin’.. except some laughs. and that’s something, so thanks!

  22. Mal says:

Well, we learned last night a penny stock we invested in earlier this year is starting to take off. We don’t usually invest in them but happily made an exception on this one, so…………hopefully??
Hey! I also got a kick out of Alec’s one liners. I love it!

  23. geeez2014 says:

Baysider…so glad you’re enjoying the ocean walks with Mr. B.

Jerry; You had ALASKA, that’s a good thing, right? 🙂

    Mal, good luck with that.

Alec, your one-liners are just fabulous, as we are all saying!…….thanks so much.

  24. FB says:

Good news is that I’ve stopped focusing on the bad stuff. You get to see a lot more good news when you do that 🙂

  25. Mal says:

Good, FB. From now on your cup will be half FULL then, right? 🙂

  26. How OLD are you?

Young enough to appreciate waking up in the morning, yet old enough to understand that the desire to do something with it is something else entirely… 😉

  27. Mustang.Koji says:

    1. My neighbor brought in another neighbor’s trash bins.
    2. A neighbor’s awesome son in high school was approached by West Point.
    3. I had a cigar… Make that two.
