Planned Parenthood and the shootings…

THIS fascinates me.   All 3 Democrat candidates for president have weighed in on the terrible killings in Colorado Springs.  Only one Republican has addressed it to date.

The article infers that it’s the Democrats who really care about the deaths.  It also infers that the murders at PP have something to do with abortion.  It probably has, but nobody at the Justice Department, or law enforcement right there in Colorado, has said anything about any ideological agenda of the killer.    The article infers also that only Cruz has responded, saying that he is “Praying for the loved ones of those killed, those injured & first responders who bravely got the situation under control in Colorado Springs,” which is appropriate, considering we don’t know many more facts than that at this point.

So, what’s it mean when Republicans haven’t responded?  Maybe it means they’re letting the situation be clarified through interrogation of Dear, the killer, instead of jumping to conclusions like Obama so often has, and the 3 Democrats have?  After all, what do you think Sanders is inferring when he said today that “…I hope people realize that bitter rhetoric can have unintended consequences.”   Hmmm

What do you think?  If you were Rubio or Fiorina or Trump or Carson, what would you say TODAY?

And, though 19 Muslims apparently didn’t represent all Muslims on 9/11, and 8 Muslims who just killed about 150 innocent people in Paris don’t represent all Muslims, will we hear, again, from so many liberals even here in our corner of the blogosphere, that this ‘Christian’ is typical of them all?

Cruz’s response was the right one. We don’t know much about the killer. My first thought was a religious kook, be he doesn’t appear to fit that category.

I’m blogging about this at Western Hero Sunday.

I think Cruz’ was the right one, too. Looking forward to your post tomorrow, SF. Thanks.

  3. Mal says:

Z, its not fair to compare the Muslims Jihadists to a Christian killing someone because, unlike the Koran, nowhere in our Holy Bible do we condone killing ANYONE. In fact it teaches us to treat your neighbors as yourself, right? How can you compare the two? You also notice Obama was quick to respond again hinting to stricter gun control.

  4. Mustang says:

Some news reports argue that the Planned Parenthood was collateral damage. The shooter intended to rob a bank, ducked into PP after he shot the first responder. True? I have no idea; this is why we have investigations.

  5. Baysider says:

Totally with Cruz. Wait for facts, statements, any manifest, video or diary of the killer. IF there is a PP connection, and he/she was targeting them, condemn it soundly in contradistinction to the Koran as Mal points out, if possible. Offer sympathy and hard condemnation.

“I know I stand with millions of Americans who have felt deep injury by this holocaust in our country. Who are offended beyond expression at the sale of baby body parts. Yet there’s a reason why followers of Jesus don’t do what M/s Read did. We work lovingly and compassionately as Jesus did to offer hope and help to women to choose life. We grieve for those who died. We honor the brave officers who quickly brought this situation under control. We ache for justice for the innocent, and unilaterally condemn Read’s murders.”

From what I’ve read not one PP employee was killed or injured. Which tells me that the mad man had no agenda. He was simply someone suffering with a mental disorder. But it didn’t take 15 minutes for the left to blame this on Christians. All you have to do is see his mugshot to know he was a mad man. No different that the killer in the movie theater of the Gabby Gifford shooter.

We need to be addressing mental health issues, not what supposed ideology the shooter happens to latch on to.

  7. Had you heard that on his voter registration, he identified as “female”?
I’m glad he survived the arrest. I want to know more about what drove him.
Of course we haven’t heard much about the Aurora shooter’s motives.
    Just that he was nuts.

  8. geeez2014 says:

Mal, you’re being rhetorical, right? I hope you didn’t think I equate the two! Something I neglected to add to my post, but thought of adding, is exactly that; we are not told or taught to KILL in our faith. Quite the contrary, right?

Oh, and I had to laugh at Obama’s statement..”Enough is ENOUGH!” I’m sure gun owners are quaking in their shoes at his toughness, huh:? (sarcasm!!)O
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Ya, you and who else…..?!!! 🙂

Rita…he looks stark raving MAD, doesn’t he.

Mustang, that’s an interesting thought…..the media’s all over the fact that he had some kind of cross made of twigs in his cabin….you get the inference!

Ed…FEMALE!? Oh, my gosh! Yes, just NUTS, poor man.

And POOR GARRETT SWASEY….he sounded like one SUPER guy, that cop who is now in heaven. God be with his wife and two young kids…HOW AWFUL..utterly AWFUL

A liberal who lurks and occasionally comments to me says this “This shooting is a direct result of Republican rhetoric. Carly Fiorina us culpable. ‘Planned Parenthood Shooting Suspect Made Comment About ‘No More Baby Parts””

You see, to a liberal, it’s not a problem that PP was dealing in baby body parts but that it was exposed. Am not sure, but I think about every Republican on the planet agreed, and many pro life Democrats, too (by the way) so I’m surprised he’d single Carly out 🙂 But, this is the thinking.

It’s ALL OUR FAULT…millions of Republicans and other parties heard about the terrors at PP but it’s THE REPUBLICAN’S fault because this nut killed people.
    Before we have the facts.

This is problematic, folks…this is a sad liberal who should get more information before spewing. It just makes sense, doesn’t it, to be sure of what you say?

  10. Not all muslims shot up Paris?
Not all conservatives shoot up PP.
Liberals. You can reason with them,
    You just can’t expect results.

    good point, ed

  12. So little is yet known about this shooter, who appears to have been a whack job. Didn’t he actually list his gender as female on a voting registration form?

  13. Maybe Dear was moonshining up there in the mountains above Asheville and drank too much of his own product.

Those hills in the Asheville area are loaded with stills.

  14. So, what’s it mean when Republicans haven’t responded? Maybe it means they’re letting the situation be clarified through interrogation of Dear, the killer, instead of jumping to conclusions like Obama so often has, and the 3 Democrats have?

Have the GOP candidates stepped forward and explained? If not, huge mistake!

  15. Mal says:

Okay, Z. I went back and reread it. I must’ve misunderstood the first time. (sorry!)

  16. Kid says:

Most of the mass murderers were on psychotic drugs. Unintended sonsequences or psychologist aided disasters? I don’t know but either would be easy to believe in today’s environment where the narrative is that the abilty of self-protection and a total fake global warming scam are the most important issues facing civilization.
