HERE is a report on the Hannukah Celebration at the White House this year.   I don’t know if many of you know that there are Rabbis within America who hate Israel and don’t pray to God in services.   I had a close friend, a Rabbi, go through something recently at an event at a Reform temple in Los Angeles (no, this isn’t confined to California, this is a national situation).   A Russian Jew, a young woman who has lived in Israel for about 15 years, got up to speak to the congregation about the many soldiers in Israel willing to die for their country.

The Rabbi of the Temple called her a liar and said they do NOT want to fight for Israel, they were made to.  My own Rabbi friend who travels to Israel at least twice a year and knows several Israelis, said the young woman is right, the Israelis he knows are keen on fighting for their country.  When the Russian Jew went on to say how one of her jobs was to care for Jews from around the world when they first arrive in Israel, the Rabbi spoke up saying “I’ll bet you don’t treat non Jews as well as that when they want to live in Israel.”

Even my Rabbi friend, who knows what’s going on in Judaism these days, was stunned at this discussion.  The Synagogue’s Rabbi, the anti Zionist, is also a woman.

So, in keeping with this rather new “hate Israel first” attitude of even Rabbis in the Jewish community,  Mr. Obama invited a non Zionist, hate-Israel, Black Lives Matter advocate, Susan Talve.  Susan Talve, by the way, is a Reform Rabbi herself, extremely controversial among Jews in America and championed by far leftwingers for her stances on their causes.

The Jewish faith is the backbone of our Christian faith….please pray for Jews around the world as anti Semitism creeps up even among its own, those who put ‘social justice’ (totally pro Palestinian, etc.) before their faith.   Keep the candles burning.

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! ‘May they be secure who love you!'”  Psalm 122:6

Have a good Sunday….z

Have a great Sunday to you as well Z!

  2. We are “Friends of Israel”.
Just attended the annual banquet here a couple weeks ago.
We know better. Israel is a light among the nations.

  3. Mustang says:

The hatefulness of that “discussion” astonishes me. There is plenty of room in our world for differing opinions, but they can be expressed intelligently and without vitriol. Maybe the fellow has a mental condition … yes, we must pray about this.

  4. Farmer John says:

Happy Holidays to all those currently celebrating Chanukah!

May we all jointly pray that the Occupy the White House Movement soon comes to an end!

Mustang, all in that story are females except my own friend Rabbi Hal……
And it’s not a mental condition, it’s a serious situation now plaguing Judaism. As you know, leftwing Jews have long denounced Israel in its “Zionism”…but now RABBIS are there….and they do NOT mention GOD…at Passovers, Services…nada. It’s quite a horrible situation.
WE know it IS a mental condition, but these are perfectly sane haters…of themselves.

FJ….love that….Yes, Happy Hannukah and That Movement is MY FAVORITE! Sadly…it’s another year.

Ed…..so many Jews feel complacent in America and they really shouldn’t…they need to know what’s at stake. obviously, we like immigrants to love America FIRST and cherish their homeland traditions in their homes or at events asking for country traditions, but this thing with Jews and Israel is astonishing. Israel is so important politically that we ALL must protect her…in any way we can.
God gave them manna that only lasted for a day……no guarantee of forever freedom…until they come to Him…

  6. Mal says:

This “Hate Israel” message was new to me. I know there are non-practicing Jews and even though we have visited Israel and have many Jewish friends here, I’d not heard of this.

  7. Bob says:

Pretty soon, we will all be like Jews in the world view. We are now hated around the world, but not quite as much as the Jews. Muslims can’t abide Christians because of our belief in the Trinity. They cannot manage to grasp the three-in-one idea.

Muhammed had to demote Jesus to just a prophet just to have some relevance in the Biblical world. The idea that Jesus is God is one that makes Muslims bristle. I don’t know what the Jews think. I have never asked one.

As a Christian I don’t think I have a choice but to stand with Israel. Things are going to get worse before they get better. That’s the way of the world.

  8. Mal says:

In a related matter, a week or two back the subject of when does the Spirit enter, at conception, birth, or somewhere in between, well this a.m. at church the sermon was about baptism (mainly because a new baby girl was being baptized) and the Pastor mentioned not everyone receives the Spirit, that only Christians do…………..AT BAPTISM. I didn’t think about that being the option when it was discussed. Any thoughts?

  9. Baysider says:

Uh-oh, Mal. Your pastor has opened a hornet’s nest. Baptism is a sacrament, “a Christian rite recognized as of particular importance and significance.” This ‘work’ of course is one our Lord’s giving, along with communion. Last I checked, works do not bring on salvation or the HS.

Z, Offline, I would LOVE TO KNOW which synagogue, and if this rabbi recently moved to the east coast. Please email me what you do know, and I’ll elaborate back.

I don’t expect a Jew – or anyone – to reflexively ‘stand with Israel.’ So I’m not misunderstood, let me be clear: it should be a thoughtful choice with your MIND engaged, not just ‘how you feel.’ This is the same self-loathing of the left that ‘feels bad’ and wants to destroy everything HERE if it isn’t perfect, but that leaves all sorts of wiggle room for the ‘noble savage’ to misbehave however they want. So they excuse 1,000’s of rockets fired into Israel from Gaza, but weep when Israel fires back. They want Jews to pay reparations for Arab properties lost, but not Arabs to pay for Jewish properties taken. Etc. Indeed, you’ve given us a much needed reminder to pray for.

  10. Baysider says:

More …. “She rambled on about how the ‘gates of this nation would stay open for all immigrants and all refugees’ ” I wonder what she was chanting when muslims were killing a million Christians in the Sudan. This woman stinks.

  11. geeez2014 says:

Baysider, it’s a synagogue in Brentwood, I believe….haven’t a clue of where exactly. But I do know the Rabbi woman was up on drunk driving charges in the Midwest then suddenly showed up here about two years ago, if memory serves me right. Literally doesn’t mention GOD in services.
Which is amazing, considering that normal Jewish services are SO joyous….and Godly.

I think a Rabbi might want to show she or he stands for Israel…it’s practically an oxymoron not to. But we’ve often talked here over the years of Jews who are not Zionists and I get why leftwing, or secular, Jews aren’t. They are also referred to as Self-Hating Jews in some circles…Not sure I’d go that far.

Living in Paris, I saw much better what’s going on in Israel….I had been fairly pro Palestinian before, buying into the poverty, the whole seductive ‘reasoning’ of the Left. UNTIL seeing news in Paris and watching whole buses of Jews blown to smitherines in Haifa and getting five minutes of coverage while Israel’s retribution got twenty minutes of pictures, story, and condemnation from CNN Int’l, which is quite different from our CNN, by the way. I remember pounding the arms of the chair in our apartment in the TV room and saying “That’s IT!”….It’s when I started learning more about the situation and have come down hard on the side of Israel.

Bay and Mal…please let’s not get into a discussion like the one that could start here re baptism……..thanks!

  12. Sparky says:

There’s a lot of leftist libtard Jews now. I don’t know why they’re so intent on committing Jew-icide.

  13. geeez2014 says:

I saw a pal of mine at church this morning…she’d accompanied her dad to New York where he filmed a few segments about a way to hold crying babies…He’s a pediatrician. My friend told me FOX’s crew were, by FAR, the nicest of all of them to work with..He was on FOX and Friends and I happened to turn it on when I woke up…there he was….She told me that Ainsley Earhart prayed for Dr. Bob before his segment. How’s that for nice people?

  14. Alec says:

    (hyphens added to avoid auto-moderation)

Scapegoating the J-ws is not limited to Muslims. Plenty of liberal J-ws do it too. Of course they would deny that they are anti-Semitic J-w haters. But what Shakespeare said of a Rose applies here too.

A well-regarded novel by Leon Uris will fill in anyone’s understanding of the Israeli-Palestinian issue. It’s called The Haj. The characters (Arab, British and Jewish) are well-drawn, interesting and mostly likeable. There’s enough (accurate) history in there to satisfy those who hate novels.

    Alec

PS Mal and Baysider, google “Baptismal regeneration”. It’s a longstanding discussion. I respect Z’s wishes for not opening it up here – but I will on my site on a future post. 😉
