Sunday Faith Blog

I have to share this with you because the couple in the video, who I blogged on some time ago, spoke at the High School I’m associated with on Friday and inspired all our students to build a faith that will get them through trials and tribulations as bad as this couple has gone through, and I thought we could all use the reminder:

Here is the website which tells the story behind that video:

I encourage you to read it……..you’ll be changed.   If SHE can have HOPE, we can ALL have HOPE.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.”  Romans 8:28

If Katherine and Jay can possibly believe this, WE can believe it.

Have a wonderful, hope-filled Sunday!  Katherine’s unable to walk on her own, has a paralyzed vocal chord, half her incredibly beautiful face is frozen forever, she has constant discomfort….and she will have a hope-filled, wonderful Sunday…..

Life is mysterious. It takes a catastrophic event to shake us out of our complacency.

SF…their faith and their faith family; real family, friends at church and otherwise, are what got them through this. Thankfully, they’d never been complacent in their faith….
Such an amazing story…and yes, ‘mysterious’….at first, Katherine said she would think “God! You made a mistake….I’m a very young mother, I was going to be an actress, this can’t happen!”
They’re making a ministry out of their nightmare…..wonderful stuff.

“If there really is a God, why does he let this happen?” Sound familiar? This constant challenge to the existence of God has been said since the beginning of time. The idea that He has a divine reason for allowing this is also mentioned. But is any of this really true? We learn from the scriptures that during the time of Jesus he did a lot of healing, from letting the blind see, the lame walk, and the curing of leprosy. However, we also know we live in a sinful world where evil abounds and bad things happen………a lot! Its how we come together to handle them, as individuals and as a society that is important and how we will finally be judged in the end.
The fact they are handling it the way they are is a testament to their faith and how they will be judged. How others respond to their plight will also be considered in the end. May God bless them.

Mal, we’ll be ‘judged’ by our faith and you’re so right that ‘just’ trusting isn’t all that’s expected, we will also ‘obey’ in the best ways….
Yes, how they’re handling it is a HUGE testament to their faith, so it’s exciting to see how they’re becoming known and sharing this….they’ve become close friends with Joni Erickson Tada, too….amazing couple.

Ed, he IS 🙂 And he’s written my blog post for tomorrow, so make sure you come by!!
