President Obama won’t be going to the Antonin Scalia funeral, though he and Mrs. Obama will pay their respects Friday as Justice Scalia lies in repose.  There is no reason given for why they won’t go to the services on Saturday of this man who gave thirty years of his life to this court, who was a brilliant Constitution defender.

“He will no doubt be remembered as one of the most consequential judges and thinkers to serve on the Supreme Court,” Obama said in remarks Saturday night.   “Consequential and thinkers”…interesting adjectives, aren’t they?  Not exactly compliments?!

President Obama will be going to Cuba in March.  The news is calling it an “historic visit.”  I’ll say.  Here’s a country whose people still don’t elect their leader,  which houses a woman who killed an American policeman, and you all know the rest of Cuba’s ‘delights.’

Apparently, Obama wants to talk to pro-democracy dissidents:  “If I go on a visit, then part of the deal is that I get to talk to everybody,” Obama said. “I’ve made very clear in my conversations directly with President [Raul] Castro that we would continue to reach out to those who want to broaden the scope for, you know, free expression inside of Cuba.”    Ya, we ‘know,’ Barack.

I got to thinking about these two facts announced in one day and kind of liked the visual; what a guy, huh?   The people he honors really solidifies what most of us have recognized about him for years.   Once again, I suppose he really doesn’t give a darn what any of us thinks.

Marco Rubio says he wouldn’t go to Cuba until it was a “free Cuba” for its people.  Do you agree?

What aggravates and disgusts me most about the illicit Obamanacy is that after
    eroding American international influence,
    destabilizing the once-robust American economy,
tainting the already polluted American political system,
    utterly destroying American free enterprise,
adding millions of non-taxpaying foreigners to the American social benefits systems,
saddling every American citizen with a 6-figure component of the national debt,
further aggravating relations between the various American ethnic groups,
    and accomplishing virtually NOTHING positive,
the alien fraud contaminating the American White House will one day leave the job as a millionaire and hit the lecture circuit with assurances of huge appearance and speaking fees, all while basking in the fame, the stipends, the health care, the Secret Service protection, and the emeritus status for which he by no means is eligible or has in any way earned.

The grinning, posturing, lying, hypocritical, racist popinjay will write slanted books, make controversial speeches, allow staged interviews, provide biased commentary, promote Islamic law and culture, and give disastrous advice while having streets, airports, buildings, schools, libraries, and programs named after him. Like a con-man who has stumbled upon the password to the Teamsters’ Retirement Fund account, he will live the good life at the expense of racial loyalists, white apologists, academic quixotics, and anti-American socialist merdistes.

When time comes for the US Mint to produce his coin, it should read “Africa Princeps” on the front in a ring around his grinning face and “Thanks, Suckers” on the back where he is mooning the viewer.

  2. Obama visit would sully the funeral, but not Cuba.
Why should he go to Cuba if he won’t talk to freedom lovers here?

I’m not surprised that O’boy won’t attend a funeral for someone as decent as Judge Scalia. He’d much rather hob knob with his communist ‘travelers’ in Cuba. I wish they’d do us a favor and just keep him.

bocopro; that is quite a scenario…and probably too true!

Ed…..the juxtaposition is so clear, isn’t it? And he thinks his cohorts are freedom lovers. He doesn’t know the meaning of the word, does he.

Sparky, no, no surprises…but a delicious and very obvious showing of who HE IS. How he doesn’t represent US but represents himself…as when he sent the Churchill bust back to England. I wonder if Air Force One HAS “one way tickets!” 🙂

Is there some way for us to arrange for him to stay there when he goes to Cuba?

Bunkerville; at least most Cubans usually turn into Republicans! And most aren’t radical islamists…but, yes…more and more refugees……and Obama goes to visit the country people are streaming to get OUT OF?

I think Obama is skipping Scalia’s funeral because Scalia skipped Obama’s State of the Union address last year. Obama is a petulant little weasel who needs to pick up his marbles and go home.

Just for fun, I’d love to see a Trump-obama debate without prepared questions and no teleprompter. Can you imagine ? Um, er, ah, er, um, but, let me be ah perfectly clear, uh, er um.

It was an amusing thought, so I thought I’d pass it along.

Yeah, I’d love to see a Trump/Soetoro debate on general topics such as economics, education, or even border security. Soetoro is an empty suit with a fragile ego educated beyond his natural intelligence and Trump is a street-smart manipulator with a quick mind and all the chutzpah of a career E-5 Bosun’s mate in a Hong Kong titty bar.

I see this as giving Cuba a chance to change. Now if Raul wants to impress us, he should create a democracy by holding votes (which, if he did, would probably be sure he got re-elected!) and do so before November when a Republican president will hopefully be elected who could reverse the whole agreement. I believe sooner or later Cuba will be free. Hopefully this could be the beginning. Think I’m dreamin’?

Kid; I WISH they’d debate….what an image!! Who do you think would win?

bocopro; I don’t think Trump’s mind is any quicker than Obama’s….he just throws in superfluous words and sometimes nasty words to bide his time till he thinks of something, the jerk.

ED; I doubt THEY’d even notice

Mal, I think a president ought only go to a country, thereby honoring it because (like it or not) he does represent our country (gad)….only if the country’s people are FREE. That country’s just using this liberal jerk president and loving it$$$$ They couldn’t BE more excited about this visit, I’m sure. Imagine Obama asking to meet democratic dissidents? GOod luck with that.

Re Trump’s mind: you’ve touched on his basic technique there: Argument By Fast Talking, which has a corollary in Argument By Changing the Subject.

Trump throws hand grenades to deny his audience time to think about what he’s saying. He blows something up and then goes to the next target so quickly that the listener hears the thesis without analyzing any facts in depth.

To fully believe something, you need at the very least a quick belief in it, usually heavily dependent on tone or context or setting in which it’s delivered. Machine-gun delivery of ideas, done properly, gives people time to comprehend the general concept what’s being said but not enough to fully consider it enough to reject it. The ideas pile up and convince by weight alone.

That strategy actually works with lots of people — it’s essentially the carnival barker gambit, a rapid-fire assault on the senses before common sense has a chance to get involved. Then once that brief moment of assent is registered in the mind, a synapse has been formed, and all the speaker has to do is periodically refer to it from time to time to strengthen it, kinda like a post-hypnotic suggestion.

Of course Trump also relies on other techniques, such as Ambiguous Assertions, Sweeping Generalizations, Argument By Scenario, Red Herring, Meaningless Questions, Selective Observations, Argument By Repetition, Slippery Slope Caveat, Bandwagoning, Ad Hominem, False Analogy, and the Kruschev Ploy (Argument by Vehemence or Threat).

bocopro, I think Trump mostly does the techniques in your last paragraph….people like him because he spews BIG sweeping nasty stuff that gets them thinking “Yaa!! That’s RIGHT…let’s GET ‘EM” etc etc……..they’re so busy celebrating the obnoxious HIT he makes, the HUGE assertion, the ENORMOUS (pick any of the terms you used above here) and VOILA, they don’t even wait around to hear “HOW WILL HE DO THAT?
That’s the whole secret to his popularity…WOW THEM, then when they have time to settle down and think, WOW them again..OR, call someone a LIAR ..OR….swear…or whatever it takes.
    Some presidential material.

AND, did you hear that the WH is now saying that O’s not going to Scalia’s funeral because of the ‘large security footprint”…apparently, it’s okay for Obama to attend a Black church in D.C. but he can’t go to Scalia’s funeral because of SECURITY.
But Biden and his wife are going……how much less security do THEY have?

Unbelievable….they really DO think we’re super stupid

Bocopro – exzctly on questions, economics, foreign policy, trade, etc. obama doesn’t have a clue, but then hs supporters don’t either. They would notice his inability to put sentences together.

Ed – I thkhnk the first sentence off the prompters would give it away.

Z, Trump would win, obama would be convinced he won. The strategy sould be for Trump to get obama mad enough to topple over the podium and run off like the 3 yr old he is. Now that would be hilarious.

Trump can make ME that mad, that’s for sure.

Z, Trump also pplays golf way too fast. You can tell more about a person playing a round of golf with them than being in social situations with them for a decade. What this tells me is he is far too impatient. Impatient people are prone to big mistakes. How many times ahs he declared bankruptcy?

I disagree with Rubio. Sometimes you have to go to the country to be able to speak there so people can hear you. You never know what it can trigger. Jesse Owens went to and won in Munich.
Plus Rubio wouldn’t have any problem to go where his neo-cons friends tell him to go i.e. Saudi Arabia where they’re not very tender with their people either. But as I keep saying he’s a big phony.

Bloomberg’s never had a business bankruptcy…..what’s that tell us about Trump? Not QUITE so good with money?

FB..he’s Cuban, he’s sensitive about his people being free and that country being honored for not allowing its people to be free. Jesse Owens’ win only made Hitler look even worse for having said “these Olympics will show Whites are better”….
I don’t know that Rubio has problems going to Saudi Arabia…but I’m thinking a deal with the Saudis is HUGELY more important than Cuba, where we SHOULD, and always have been until now, the superior, don’t you think?
