Bernie calls the Pope a Socialist

Brilliant….old hippie Bernie is calling the Pope a Socialist and it’s so good for Socialists on so many levels:

-Leftwingers gone berserk will love it.

-Catholics might be persuaded Socialism must be a good thing, and Bernie’s running, so……..

-It makes Socialism sound almost mainstream somehow, acceptable

From THIS article: “Sanders praised what the pope has done “in a very bold way” to “raise the issue of the worship of money, the idolatry of money, and to say maybe that’s not what human life should be about, and that is a very, very radical critique of the hypercapitalist system, world system, that we’re living in today,” Sanders said.”

Does it mean you worship and idolize money when you work very hard and succeed?   Is hypercapitalism better than any kind of socialism?

Very, very clever of ol’ Bernie…..Don’t you think so?

Or not?

So if you’re a socialist, claiming that you don’t worship money, why is it that the main thing you want is other people’s money?

There is no way to describe socialism as a success using examples in practice around the world, or by using valid logic.

As always, Sanders and others lower the conversation to the level of a third-grader’s cartoon.

We have a real problem with wealthy, unaccountable people and corporations acting with impunity, trashing whole sections of society, and moving on.

The rich in this country are the engine behind rampant immigration, exporting jobs under the guise of “free trade,” lax drug laws, pornification of our society and pop culture, the entire panoply of progressive causes. Who do you think funds the progressive agenda? Poor people?

No. affluent latte leftists, rich enough to live in gated communities and wall themselves and their families off from the societal dysfunction they create.

We are in a very strange place, and until people wake up and see what is going on, we will be unable to address our problems.

The Pope IS a socialist. There are many socialist Catholics, especially in Europe. Catholicism was the Big Gov of the medieval time raising money and providing, let’s admit it, charity and some healthcare. French kings needed the approval of the Pope. Clovis converted to get to power.
The Catholic church has a tradition of collectivism and wealth redistribution. Max Weber pointed that out. So nothing new with this Pope.

When I look at very devoted Catholics I know in France they are either nationalist and very conservative or socialist. All in all they are collectivist minded. The individual has to submit itself to the will and values of the collective. It’s very different from what I read in Charles Stanley where it is about the individuality of the soul and that the submission is to God.

FB, would you agree that in older times the raising of money and providing healthcare, food, charity, schooling, etc., were good things? (and they did a LOT of that).
As long as nobody’s taking money away forcibly, via taxes or even subliminal threat (you won’t go to heaven unless you..$$$), I believe collecting money for the poor is a Conservative value, don’t you?
Yes, we shouldn’t ‘submit’ to any church, but only to God. The church is there to inspire us, to involve us with the all-important worship (I’m just now realizing how much God wants our praise and thanks and that our prayers should include a lot of that before we start with the supplication!), to help us form friendships with like minded (and usually very good-charactered) people, to study the Bible in more-than-usual depth and academia together, to have great times together, to raise money for the community and missionaries…etc.

Those were good things but if you abstract it, the Church was the State. Even before there was an official king of France, the Church was the established power. I personally do not distinguish the two. The Church was raising money by selling people pieces of paper that would make them go to heaven. Not moral in my book (merci Luther!) and equivalent to gov stealing your income. The Church is the richest real estate owner in my hometown for example.

The pope is a self professed Socialist. Socialism is satan worship. It’s a sin to steal from one group to give to another just because “they don’t / do deserve it”. ‘Nuff said.

FB. yes, and that kind of raising money is a lie from the pit of hell (as a friend puts it so quaintly!) and WRONG. But raising money for good causes, leaving it completely up to the individual to decide to give or not, is great!

I get really upset when I see people like Bernie and all the left that want other peoples money. They need to be told to go live in a country where they have socialism. You know the kind of countries I’m talking about. The ones where nobody is trying to sneak in or live in; only leave.
Then watch how fast they change their attitude and want to come back.
In a few hours I will be leaving for the Nevada Caucus to cast my vote. Thus far, Trump has it. I love to shake up the “good ‘ol boys” in the GOP!

You make great sense about socialism…Baysider’s right.
Except I’m starting to think this Conservative hate for the Republicans isn’t going to REALLY bit us in the behind BAD. I wish everybody could have heard Paul Ryan on Megyn Kelly last night; i knew there were things we got in that stinkin’ budget and I look forward to his doing more…but more VOCAL.

  14. Well, as long as we’re trump-talking, did you see the politico article where a survey of Trump supporters found almost every last one of them were authoritarian.

    http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/01/donald-trump-2016-authoritarian-213533

It fits with the fact that when I suggest to Trumpsters that they are backing a strongman, they all say they’re ok with that.
“At least he’s our strongman “.
    As if.

Ed, The money quote that I saw was right after the SC caucus. They said S Carolina voters are voting with their middle finger. (directed at teh GOP and oBAMa) Yep. Let’s hope they start voting with the brain instead. Cruz is the only one who even has a chance of putting Conservatives on the SC.

BUT, I agree that the voters are ANGRY and that’s why otherwise decent people are going for a foul mouthed conceited blowhard…

Ed, which reminds me of a dear friend who was in her early nineties when she died…a sweet very, old fashioned, dear Christian lady; She once told a bunch of us that her teenaged grand daughter sometimes dressed like a prostitute but “she’s my little prostitute” 🙂 Talk about unconditional love!!

I don’t have total confidence in Cruz, but I do think he is the best bet of the bunch.

I just listened to about half the audio and I feel quite relieved…I’ve always thought Ryan was a good man and I still do. My intuition was right. I’m glad you got an apology, too.
Ryan’s about 3x the man alcoholic, foul-mouthed Boehner was. Not sure Boehner was ALL bad, but my experience with him in person, and MUCH of the way he caved to the Left, really left a terrible taste in my mouth, believe me. And Mr. Z’s.
