FBI Director COMEY

james comey

Do you think it’s too much on the part of the Republicans?   What do you think they expect to come from this?  Do they really think anything earth shaking enough will come from Comey that can change the no-indictment decision?

Is it just to further elucidate the lies and negligence on Hillary’s part, or does the public have enough information on that?

Z  (he’s 6’8″ tall, so since I’m almost 5’10”, I’m kind of for Comey :-))

  1. They’re going to ask about the Clinton Foundation parallel investigation, Z. That’s my guess. And we won’t like what he has to say about that either. The Clintons are free – NOTHING is going to be done to them about any of their corruption. N O T H I N G !

We will have to get rid of them ourselves by defeating Hillary at the ballot box in November. And THEN we could get a special prosecutor appointed to go after them like President George W. Bush should have done. But….. I doubt we’ll do that either. Sickening, isn’t it?

  2. I think that the GOP should just let this go — and let Donald Trump make hay with the issue.

Nothing is going to be accomplished by having these Congressional hearings — except for giving HRC and her adherents fodder for their vast-right-wing-conspiracy screeching.

  3. FW,
    Yes, sickening.

These days, I feel like puking when I follow political stories.

  4. bocopro says:

Paraphrasing Will Rogers, there oughta be at least one day when it’s open season on politicians.

  5. Bocopro, the Left isn’t going to ever respect the rights of the free. They’ve even successfully infiltrated the Republican Party establishment to destroy it from within. Our only hope is to elect Trump to take a wrecking ball to it & build it anew. I hope & pray that we see it happen. If he’s not elected, then we were already gone as the nation we all once loved.

  6. bunkerville says:

I am with AOW. Drop it. Why go after Comey? He gave the GOP a gift. He could have given it to Lynch and that would have been the end of hearing anything about it.
Comey will fold like a cheap suit. IMO.

  7. bocopro says:

What bothers me most is that it’s entirely apparent, virtually inarguable, that leftistas WANT a corrupt administration and that lie, duck, dodge, hide, spin, and repeat are the new norm. If that weren’t so, why are they so insistent upon defending and elevating crooks to positions of high authority?

  8. Silverfiddle says:

    * Nothing will happen

    * It is not “too much on the part of the Republicans,” but it is too late–Gowdy is a boob who completely botched a simple investigation–The only success may be that based on Comey’s information, Hillary perjured herself multiple times during the Benghazi hearings, but since JustUs doesn’t prosecute gross mishandling of top secret information, I doubt they will trifle with perjury.

    * The Republican Congress is exercising their oversight, but it will be portrayed as all politics by Hellary and her scribbling monkeys in the Infotainment-Media Complex.

    * Vast swathes of America don’t care and/or don’t understand this issue, so nothing will come of it and we get the corrupt government we deserve.

    * Nothing will happen — Hillary is the next president — The fix was in long ago. This is just bread and circuses

  9. Silverfiddle says:

I don’t trust Comey, and I don’t think anyone else should, either. He is one more political hack, you have to be to get those high positions and travel in those circles.

Face is, my fellow Americans: We have a rotten, corrupt government–it is no better than that of Sudan, Venezuela or South Crapistan.

My advice to my fellow Americans is to study up on how people survive and thrive in corrupt societies run by the Criminal Elite. Italy and Mexico would be a good start.

  10. Adrienne says:

I’ve got the live stream up, too. Don’t miss this years greatest Kubuki theater.

I think we’re pretty much all in agreement that Comey handed Trump a wonderful gift.

  11. SF,
    I see that we agree.

  12. Silverfiddle says:

AOW: Yes we do. My only difference with your opinion is that the GOP owes it to the American people to ask the questions, regardless of the mud that will be slung their way. They have discredited themselves, so none of it will matter, but they need to do their duty anyway.

I can’t believe, as old as I am, that I am just now beginning to see what a corrupt-interlocking system it is that rules this nation.

No one in government is clean–It’s like the mafia.

I don’t single out Comey for particular censure; he’s just one more. He’s been in and out of private practice and corporate jobs, and if he wants any kind of future that involves anything higher than nickle-dime lawyer arguing cases in city court, he must play ball. Everybody at that level must play ball–The system is set up to suborn compliance.

  13. Sparky says:

What do I think will happen after this Dog and Pony show? Nothing. Our feckless Congress are such pantywaists, they’ll just flex their muscles, pound their chests, said “we did something about the injustice”, then slink back to their lairs and do nothing. Period.

  14. Bocopro, the Left ONLY cares about malfeasance and corruption of Republicans. If you are one of them, nothing you do wrong matters.

  15. Silverfiddle, I feel the same way. I can’t believe it took me so long to figure out what has been apparent right under my nose for decades. Why else would the problems related to immigration, both illegal and legal, still exist? We’ve been experiencing these problems going back to President Reagan’s amnesty. He lived up to his word and granted amnesty to 4 million illegals and the rest of the government reneged on their promises to secure the border and restore compliance & enforcement of our immigration laws.

We were all betrayed and continue to be betrayed. Republicans have had several opportunities when they’ve held the White House and Congress, to remedy this but did nothing. That should have given me pause. I don’t think I started to wise up to what the Republican Party really was until they savaged Sarah Palin. I wrote letters and sent emails to the RNC while the trashing of Sarah Palin was ongoing, demanding that the leadership of our party come to her defense. I received NO replies from RNC and the mud continued to be slung at Mrs. Palin.

The final nail in the coffin for me was the $1.8 Trillion Omnibus Tax and Spending passed on December 18. 2015. A Republican majority House and Senate passed that monstrosity, fully funding EVERYTHING on the Democrat agenda; ObamaCare, Executive Amnesty, Illegal & Muslim Refugee Resettement (they actually funded this at a higher level than requested), Common Core, Planned Parenthood, etc., etc. etc. There was Majority Leader McConnell openly mocking us, laughing at us for having believed his promises to repeal and defund everything they’d just funded.

That was it for me. Stick a fork in me I’m done!

  16. geeez2014 says:

I don’t agree with many of you so I’m going to go easy on this.

But after watching most of the hearing, I believe it makes the Right look far worse than Hillary, sadly. I believe Comey’s right in the fact that INTENT was what the FBI had to prove; and they can’t.
We base all of this on a MOUNTAIN of Hillary scandals she’s got away with; the FBI can’t base findings on all of that.

This hearing was preposterous….but I can’t blame Gowdy or any of them for wanting to expose Hillary with some of their questions to COmey.
Sadly, the leftist bastard hacks are MUCH meaner and sounding more effective; things like “The Right is so frightened of their narcissistic racist candidate who calls Mexicans rapists and (etc) that this is all they have to fight Hillary with”.
I found that HIGHLY inappropriate for a hearing…

    what an ugly s****.

  17. Silverfiddle says:

I just passed by a TV with Fox News on. The Comey hearing looked like a theater of the absurd.

For those of us who think and feel, America is descending into tragicomedy.

  18. geeez2014 says:

Connolly is the biggest jerk on the planet…unprofessional, a hack, really awful.

MY BIGGEST QUESTION that has arisen from this questioning is about WHY HER LAWYERS WERE ALLOWED TO DESTROY CERTAIN EMAILS AND SHE SUPPOSEDLY DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT THAT. WHY would lawyers make that decision?
BUT, of course, I’m either not quite understanding that point OR WHY DIDN’T THE GUYS ON OUR SIDE PURSUE THAT???

  19. FB says:

I think that the GOP should just let this go — and let Donald Trump make hay with the issue.

The GOP will lose the communication battle again. Just let Trump use ridicule and other tactics instead of having the GOP look bad.

  20. FB says:

I disagree on the fact intent cannot be proven. When you have multiple servers, you delete gov-related emails, clearly there’s an intent of hiding things. It’s not for convenience. The most convenient thing to do is to use the gov’s servers. So there is intent.

  21. FB says:

Stephan Molineux has been the best so far in terms of analysis

  22. Silverfiddle says:

This scene from the Godfather sums up how Hillary is protected:

Senator Pat Geary: Mr. Cici, was there always a buffer involved?
    Willi Cici: A what?
Senator Pat Geary: A buffer. Someone in between you and your possible superiors who passed on to you the actual order to kill someone.
Willi Cici: Oh yeah, a buffer. The family had a lot of buffers!

  23. geeez2014 says:

    FB (funny, i almost typed FBI!) ; the problem is you can’t PROVE any ‘hiding things’;
You and I, and everyone above, believes this, but legally, it’s VERY hard to prove. And we can’t decide these things based on past history (Unfortunately) of a person OR inference.
The R’s are making VERY few points today that can supersede the decision…I’m very sad about this whole thing.

And, by the way, have you noticed most of the Black panel keep bringing up civil rights/law enforcement problems? HOW INAPPROPRIATE IS THAT? WHAT SWINE!

FB…I just listened to a little of the video; all his points are things we’ve all heard on FOX and elsewhere; SO, why the HECK doesn’t this panel ask those questions?
There are some very good points…. “at the time,” for example. She said they weren’t classified AT THE TIME, Comey says some WERE. And that goes unnoticed?

Ugh…..I just know one thing: this hearing’s going to do NOTHING.
FB: You said “Just let Trump use ridicule and other tactics instead of having the GOP look bad.:” What do you mean by that? You don’t think the awful way in which Trump says things doesn’t make Conservatives look bad?

By the way, everyone: WHAT is this NEW HEARING some of the GOP are mentioning? Something that’ll go on?

  24. Silverfiddle says:

Z: ‘Intent’ is a canard. The law doesn’t say you need intent to prosecute. All kinds of people get punished all the time for violating those federal statutes through carelessness, but “what difference, at this point, does it make, anyway?”

  25. Mal says:

Over my lifetime spanning almost 9 decades, I’ve witnessed a trend by both political parties to lean further and further to the Left. JFK today would be considered a Republican. So would FDR and Truman. The GOP today is only a shell of what it use to be while the Left has fallen completely off the charts! We haven’t progressed. We’ve digressed. This is another reason to try and shake things up via Trump, IMO.

  26. geeez2014 says:

SF…I believe INTENT is the linchpin on this….very difficult to prove. I listened carefully just now to Comey talking about what would happen to lesser positions who did this and he made sense.
I get your point, totally do, about intent….it’s a tough one.
I don’t disparage Comey. Never have, I’ve always admired him and I continue to do so.

MAL..YES, JFK WOULD BE A REPUBLICAN….Not FDR..NO WAY. He pretty much sped up all this progressive rubbish!

  27. Silverfiddle says:

I tried embedding a pic, I guess that’s not supported.

    Giant Meteor 2016

  28. geeez2014 says:

Comey just can’t say, let alone think, “Gee it’s that scoundrel Hillary with a million scandals she’s got away with so I am FINALLY going to get her on this one.”
That’s how WE FEEL, don’t we…and rightfully so, but…nobody in his position can.

  29. Silverfiddle says:

Z: Comey is one more political hack. They all are. Normal Rockwell has left the building.

  30. FB says:

    Intent is easy to prove:
    – She knew information was classified.
    – She knew that she could not use private servers. She didn’t use 1 but multiple ones.
    – She knew that gov-related emails cannot be destroyed because of the information act. She destroyed gov property as well.
    – She’s not stupid
    – She ignored all of it

    So there’s intent.

  31. FB says:

The only reason why it’s not prosecuted is because it’ll open a can of worms with a lot of emails coming from very important people, including the White House, to her private servers. Those people knew, hence broke the law and could also be prosecuted.

  32. geeez2014 says:

    SF: I don’t think so.

FB….and, as I said above, she’s also had “burned” daily schedules which is totally against the law but not part of this case, sadly.

The one place I HIGHLY disagree with Comey on is PRECEDENT…I don’t give a DAMN what’s been prosecuted before…that shouldn’t enter into THIS CASE. But, if it DOES, legally, then he’s doing everything by the law.

  33. Mal says:

Z, yes. You are correct about FDR. All I was alluding to is their patriotism, putting country first ahead of self, that’s all. Today, the Dems are putting self first and to Hell with we peons. Its interesting to note this has all come to a head during this President’s tenure. He has so cleverly manipulated his drones to the point they don’t even realize they have been manipulated. That takes the skill only the Devil would possess.

  34. geeez2014 says:

And, believe me, all, while I think the Reps have lost this fight and should have known nothing would come of this (it never EVER EVER does…except make all Cons look ridiculous), they have asked SOME GOOD QUESTIONS…..
so far, they can’t trip him up; is he that good or that evil?

  35. FB says:

I also think another reason is why it’s not prosecuted is because it would set a very important precedent and they all have done it and will continue to do so. Because gov is bigger than citizens now.

  36. FB says:

Maybe we should create a new city and we’ll call it “Sanctuary City.” All gov and fed laws will not be applicable. Only local laws. Since the law only apply when the politicians or the FBI want to apply it, I think this would be ok. This “Sanctuary City” will not arrest citizens for not paying the income tax or other taxes, will have no gun control at all, etc…

  37. geeez2014 says:

SF, by the way; I’m older than you are and I recognize, probably more acutely, that our world is NORMAN ROCKWELL FREE now. But I do believe, still, in some of our politicians and some of the systems.

By the way, did YOU come up with the JustUs moniker/ for JUSTICE? Briliant.

  38. Silverfiddle says:

Z: I probably plagiarized it from somewhere… I’m not that clever, and please don’t take my commentary as adversarial. I respect your point of view, and I admit I have become incredibly jaded.

  39. Silverfiddle says:

FB: I agree, and I share your sentiments

The Sanctuary City you describe already exists. It’s called DC, District of Criminals.

I feel the worst for those, like people very close to me, who immigrated here and are now watching as the scenery and scaffolding fall, to reveal just another third-world toilet.

  40. FB says:

That is sadly very funny SF.

Yes it is sad. You come for a dream of liberty and rule of law (and not just making $$$$ and owning a house) and they turn it into a 3rd world country POS.

  41. geeez2014 says:

SF “I have become incredibly jaded.” I think MOST of us have, SF….who can blame you!? I’m sorry if I react so defensively so often.

Sanctuary Cities are probably THE most OVERLOOKED ILLEGAL thing in our country today. We have laws but you do NOT have to follow them?

  42. geeez2014 says:

Allen West’s take on the decision is probably important to read…take a look. I found it thought provoking, for sure. He doesn’t say anything much more than you’ve all said above, but it’s well thought out.

  43. Silverfiddle says:

Laws are for the little people–we live in a third world banana republic.

  44. Bob says:

Comey did a lot of dancing. Nothing important was learned. No, I don’t think it was too much for the Republicans to do, it is only common sense that they follow up with hearings.

Of course the hearings are political. The US Congress is a political body, and therefore, anything they do is political. Of course Comey was under political pressure. That’s the way the world operates.

If I were Comey I am not sure if I would have come up with a different recommendation. After all, I like barbecue, cold beer, pizza, more cold beer, and living in general. Comey is no dummy.

What a revolting development this turned out to be. (William Bendix, Life of Riley).

  45. Silverfiddle says:

Bob, I don’t think Comey feared for his life. I think he feared of ever finding meaningful employment again. The District of Criminals is a “go along to get along” place. The Criminal Ruling class suborns everyone. No one is above it.

  46. Bob says:

SF: I’ll go along with you, there.

  47. Silverfiddle says:

I posted this over at a fever swamp website where true believers are still holding out hope the FBI is…*snicker* wait for it… investigating the Clinton Foundation…

This is rightwing fantasy porn. IF there is an FBI investigation, it is only for the purpose of further exonerating the Clintons.

Haven’t people caught on by now? Jim and Tammy Faye from Hot Springs have been subjecting us to soap opera cliffhangers for decades now. Bill or Hillary get into some peril involving nefarious rightwing persecutors, an official body like the US Senate or FBI steps in and its –Uh Oh! The Clintons are going to get it now!– only to end in exoneration for the Clintons, with Hellary grinning like the cat that ate the canary.

The Clintons have clawed their way to the top of the world by suborning stamps of approval from entire official institutions. Am I the only guy who sees this?

  48. geeez2014 says:

BOB! I remember LIFE OF RILEY! I was SO little but I think I developed my great love of old TV and old movies from it….ADORED Father Knows Best and have nearly EVERY SINGLE episode on DVD….and would you believe I now watch ANDY OF MAYBERRY if it’s on? I used to laugh at my EXTREMELY bright bro-in-law for doing so, but I think it’s calming…reminiscent of better times, and helps us all COOL OFF.

SF…Comey, I believe, is in office until 2023 (it’s a ten year term), at which time he’ll probably retire, so I’m not sure about that applies but could be.

  49. Silverfiddle says:

Z: You also must consider that we all skeletons, and we all commit three felonies a day (google civil libertarian Harvey Silverglate).

Comey–or any public official–steps out of line, and he’s on the pointy end of a messy investigation.

  50. Excellent question, Z!! Hilary’s lawyers were Cheryl “Shredding Party Free-For-All” Mills & David Kendall, I presume. Mills was a target of this investigation, wasn’t she? I’m so disgusted.

  51. Bob says:

SF: It’s time to go to our God, and our guns. Will that get me on some PC list?

  52. geeez2014 says:

SF….I think that’s probably true…altho I can’t think of ONE felony I’ve committed ever…..but….not that I’m perfect but I think of felonies as…well, I’ll Google it…OKAY..here they are (see list:)
I may have “been near an illegal controlled substance” from time to time in my misguided youth, but burglary? Murder? theft? (okay, I might have taken a paper clip home from an office!), etc? THREE A DAY?! 🙂

  53. FB says:

The ruling class is like the mob. At some point the ruling class will deserve the guillotine again. Mark my words.

  54. geeez2014 says:

    FB…FB! You’re showing YOUR FRENCHNESS! 🙂
    ‘Qu’on leur coupe la tête.’

  55. FB says:

I wouldn’t do it (I’m more like Lafayette) but I’d put them in jail. Since laws don’t apply to them, I’d apply the same logic and would put them in jail without due process.

  56. FB says:

Also the behavior of some cops going crazy like yesterday is in line with a gov that’s above the law and is treating citizens like merde.

  57. geeez2014 says:

FB, I don’t know about the cops….I’m too busy grieving for the one who died and his poor family, and those seriously injured who are undergoing surgery right now.

Those killings of the 2 black men are AWFUL, then innocent cops have to pay by lawless asses hopped up by their BLACK LIVES MATTER buddies? Disgusting.
