The FAMOUS knew…..

GOT A FAVORITE FROM THIS LIST?

In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, and two or more is a government.
  John  Adams

If you don’t read the newspaper you are uninformed, if you do read the newspaper you are misinformed.     (how true is that!!!)
   Mark  Twain

Suppose you were an idiot.  And suppose you were a member of government.  But then I repeat myself.
   Mark Twain

I  contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.
Winston Churchill

A government which robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul.
George Bernard  Shaw

Foreign aid might be defined as a  transfer of money from poor people in rich countries to rich people in poor countries.
Douglas Casey,  Classmate of Bill Clinton at Georgetown  University

Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage  boys.
P.J. O’Rourke,  Civil Libertarian

Government is the great fiction, through which everybody endeavours to live at the expense of everybody else.
Frederic  Bastiat,  French economist(1801-1850)

I don’t make jokes. I just watch the government and report the facts.

Here’s a new one I just heard from some leftie politico on TV: “Any Republican office holder who supports Trump shouldn’t be able to sit in government”
Yup….cute, eh? UNBELIEVABLE..THIS is where we’ve sunk to in this land of the Once-Free…

Good job Z. These things will always stand the test of time. I have another one that I’ll add later.
Which is more a sign of the times we live in today. And another conundrum.

Got to turn CNN off.. I’m happy to have about 2 hours of errands ahead of me today because:

The news just was released that Trump will get classified info now….
They’re saying on CNN “Will Trump USE it in public as a cudgel against Hillary…can he keep it to himself and not release it to the masses?”

And “Well, it’s not too much information, is it? It’s just mild information…nothing that could endanger anybody” What a message they’re giving their watchers!

The DISDAIN, the LOATHSOME behavior to this candidate is absolutely hideous….

Kid and Imp…they are really good…and I wish we could release these to the public..as if it’d make a dent in their thick heads.
Imp…there are TONS of phrases like this…..can you pick one from here that resonates the most with you!? Hard to pick one, as I’d asked, isn’t it.

I like them all, but particularly the last one by Will Rogers. A friend of ours here in Vegas for several years sported a bumper sticker “Will Rogers never met Harry Reid.” I loved it!

THey’re releasing 15 more from Gitmo; one is an explosives expert known to have worked to kill Americans……These are people Obama’d once said were too dangerous to let out.
    Maybe they found Jesus, right?
    AS IF.

They (OBAMA!) are releasing 15 more from Gitmo and you can believe the place will be empty by next January when O leaves office! Perhaps we should send the famous Arizona sheriff to round ’em up & hold ’em till next January so he can put ’em back!

They’re all spot on, but my favorite would have to be John Adams. Thomas Jefferson has many quotable statements too. Why can’t we have leaders like that now? Oh, yeah, the current scumbags reflect most of our society.

“Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it.” — ??? (Usually attributed to Mark Twain)

Here’s another good one that Twain probably did say (it sounds like him):

“Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society.”

There are several conundrums we face as American voters.

America is capitalistic and greedy, yet half of our population is subsidized.

Half the population is subsidized yet they think they are victims.

They think they are victims, yet their representatives run the government.

Their representatives run the government, yet the poor keep getting poorer.

The poor keep getting poorer, yet they have the things that other people only dream about.

They have things that people in other countries only dream about, yet they want America to be like those other countries. Think about it. Who’s in charge?

Wonder if Prager finally got involved. He was invited, but delaying.

All good quotes. I’ll go with Shaw – perfect for this election season. Yet I’ve always loved that O’Rourke quote about whiskey and car keys to teenagers!

Baysider…invited to help Trump? I’m really surprised Prager would divulge that if he did or if he didn’t! But, these days,. I shouldn’t be surprised at ANYTHING!

I adore O’Rourke… (Did I ever tell you that Heather MacDonald is Courtney’s stepdaughter?)

The Prager story is that he volunteered to write Romney speeches for free. Got introduced. There was a glad handshake and a smile from the team manager, but clearly had no idea what was being offered him. That man later said he didn’t have any ideology but was pragmatic. Well, that’s why Romney never put out a successful message attacking not just Obama, but the failed left in clear language that would get people behind him (as the Prager U videos are doing).

Now, in 2016 he was invited to an intimate candidate event. Met a far more receptive audience in a key PR man and has promised to write speeches.

Yes, I think of Courtney (and some of the friction) every time I hear Heather interviewed.
