I don’t know if it’ll hurt Trump’s campaign or not. And Roger Ailes has only been accused of harassment. It is a bit of a risk on Trump’s part though. Quite frankly, between me, thee and the fence post, I think Gretchen Carlson is a bit of a nut. I’ve never liked her but that doesn’t mean she’s not telling the truth. And there are supposedly other women that claim Ailes’ has harassed them too. Guess I’ll have to put this one in the Maybe Pile.

On Roger Ailes helping Trump… It won’t even register with ordinary people, especially if Ailes stays in the background and out of the spotlight (which I’m sure he will) and provides his advice and strategery in private.
Here is why the lefties are screaming about Ailes: Ailes is a political genius, and Trump bringing him on spells trouble for Hillary. Also, Ailes is another rich man with a powerful ego–one of the few people who can look Trump in the eye and tell him he’s %$#*&@ing up. Trump will listen to him. Look for the Trump campaign to start making all the right moves.

With regard to debate preparation assistance from Roger Ailes? I think it’s untrue, another false story put out by Hillary’s campaign. I don’t think Donald Trump has any respect for Ailes, because Ailes orchestrated the attacks against him. Ailes is part of the Ruling Class Establishment.
To Sparky, I read something yesterday that Fox News is in discussions with Gretchen Carlson to settle her lawsuit. The settlement offer being reported is in excess of $10 million dollars. They wouldn’t be offering that if their exposure wasn’t 10-fold that amount. Ailes did it and Fox News knows it. He propositioned Gretchen on multiple occasions, he was rejected and he deliberately set her up to fail, instead of promoting her like he did so many other Foxettes, Megyn Kelly being the highest star he built up.
I admit, when this story first broke, I was one of “those women” who thought Gretchen was just a woman scorned. I’ve changed my mind because Fox News fired Roger Ailes; the man who made the network what it is. They wouldn’t have done that unless the evidence against him was overwhelming.

Fairest Witness is probably right….I think there had to be a lot of smoke to not be some fire…it would take a lot to fire Ailes. I don’t mind that Ailes is a ‘ruling class establishment,’ we desperately need that type, too, but if he’s a cheap hustler for women, he had to go.
Still, he is GOOD; He got NIXON ELECTED! If he could get HIM elected, maybe he can help Trump…
Ed, they’re saying the Trump campaign is hesitant to admit it…If Trump ISN’T using Ailes and his incredible experience, Trump is dumber than even I thought.
SF: I believe Ailes’ consulting for Trump is the best thing Trump could do. I do worry because the media made it their main point yesterday on the news: “How could Trump hire a WOMANIZER like Ailes,” etc etc…. That’s why I tied Hillary’s ‘cartoons’ in with this…:

Truthfully I’m not that familiar with the guy. As to the Left using him in Hillary’s campaign with her and Bill’s record, its the old “sometimes the best defense is an offense”. Keep the spotlight off of me and on the other guy. They’ve been doing that right along and its proven successful, unfortunately for us.

Everything Hillary has ever touched has failed, been engulfed in scandal, resulted in massive investigations, litigation, financial ruin, prison or death. The final stage of any Hillary enterprise is a grand announcement that Hillary did not technically break the law. Or no one can prove she did. Or, even if she did, no one ever gets prosecuted for it. Or…she “misspoke, misunderstood or short circuited”.
It is only the extremely gullible, idealistic, uneducated or mentally handicapped that would give a moment of thought to the idea that those millionaires who push socialism would give up their
current lives of luxury and rub elbow with us common folk.
If they would, if they are serious about their Ideology, let them prove it by starting now; let them sell all that they own, that is above and beyond the possessions of the average world citizen, and share it with those in need, keeping only their sources of income and then continuing to share all they earn from those sources that amounts to more than what is needed for a humble, average existence.
The idea is laughable! Go ahead, laugh.

The Ailes move just looks bad to people who only know the most superficial part of the story – people like me. And that’s most. Will mitigating factors take explanations that will be drowned out by sour headlines? Or will anyone notice. That makes be agnostic on the issue.

I’m sure THE VIEW and other shows women voters watch carried it, too. It never ends….Yes, they have to notice.

Ed…the word is that Ailes is with Trump…they’re just denying it for the reasons I have in my post and what I explained just above here to Baysider… The news cycle on this is over and now Trump’s people don’t have to address that again, thankfully.
If I was Carlson or another of the women he supposedly harassed (and even right wing experts think that FOX’s settling with her probably shows he HAD), I know what I’d have said IF my job wasn’t in the mix….I’m thinking suits like this will keep the number of men’s advances might stop…at least for now. I’m thinking Katie Couric’s so cutesie and untalented that she probably DID play along with advances or HOW COULD SHE GET HIRED? (smile)

Speech very good. Populist and platitudinal. It may not turn many black votes, but it’s a serious address when he nails the Dem leadership squarely for failures. Nobody talks about that. As an “outsider” he can truly claim charge the insiders with their crimes against the people. The bit about Hillary’s “stamina” and “endurance” was brilliant. I like his style of winding up to something, then he drops his voice and soft shoes it. I used to go crazy hearing Al Gore winding up like an ‘ol fashioned southern revival meetin’, bellering away. This one’s pause, and drop in volume is effective.

Imp; all I’m saying is that, considering this has happened MANY times that I’ve noticed (waiting for applause when it’s not coming), I’d hope he’d catch on. And they need to stop writing that on the teleprompter….But, hey, I’m not reading it, maybe they haven’t written it there but he thinks what he just said deserves a round of applause. I don’t know. I only know, from watching hundreds of speeches, that once there’s no applause coming spontaneously, it AIN’T COMIN’….keep talking.
And yes, the media’s even worse than they were on Palin, which is REALLY going some…remember? Gad, you look at the homepage headlines, down the line, and they’re all anti-Trump…sometimes you see a less unflattering headline and then see it’s FOX’s!
