Ya, this probably takes a little guts to post, but I sometimes find guts in me I wasn’t sure were there, and it often has to do with the subject of race because I am passionate about it.
I look at ALL SOLDIERS, BLACK AND WHITE, AS AMERICANS WHO ARE FIGHTING FOR OUR COUNTRY, OUR FLAG, AND OUR SAFETY. I think most of you feel this way, too.
I also think of ALL COPS, BLACK AND WHITE, AS AMERICANS WHO ARE FIGHTING FOR OUR COUNTRY, OUR FLAG, AND OUR SAFETY. Why should we ever remove a flag from a coffin? And why shouldn’t that flag be honored when it represents the love of soldiers who died for it?
What bugged me so much about Kaepernick’s whine about why he won’t stand was when I recognized incessant stupidity of someone who’d support the ridiculous claim of “Hands up, don’t shoot!” when that never even happened.
Kaepernick has a point in the fact that some cops have acted too spontaneously, too dangerously, and innocent people have died, but he hasn’t a clue about the important details; that many whites die in altercations with cops, too….that there’s very little racism in law enforcement….that nearly every court case for a cop (in Baltimore, for just one example) has proven him innocent…..that if black kids weren’t breaking the law so much maybe cops of both colors wouldn’t be quite so ‘on guard,’ ….etc.
Insulting a country shouldn’t ever be welcomed or even put up with and, while I know other young jerks like him are following suit, I’m heartened by the fact that more disagreed with him than I’d have thought or even hoped. And what about the fans most of whom reacted very badly to his not standing!? THEY ROCK!….PARTICULARLY THIS GUY! HURRAY FOR HIM! HE has more sheer guts than Kaepernick does.

Well . . . one might say that blacks are roughly 13 percent of the US population, yet they commit almost a third of all rapes, a third of all assaults, around half of all robberies and nearly half of all murders. Nine of ten black people murdered in this country are murdered by other blacks.
AND . . . “Hands Up —- Don’t Shoot” is a myth, sold by racebaiters such as Sharpton. Very few uniformed policemen get up every day with the overpowering need to go assassinate young black men, but many young black men get up every day with the intent to go kill a white cop.
Kaepernick is a tool and a fool. He has no monopoly on being misled or brainwashed, but as a privileged, insulated, half-white millionaire who is doing “his people” no good at all in the PR department, my advice to him would parallel Col. West’s: Siddown & shaddap ’til you know what you’re talking about, but do so in Nigeria, or Kenya, or Chad, or Somalia, or Libya.
My opinion is that it never would have come up if Soetoro and Holder hadn’t taken such interest in setting back race relations in the US by at least 50 years. Their behavior in the Professor Gates, Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and other cases threw fuel on the “Fry ‘Em Like Bacon” and “Whadda we want? Dead Cops!” outbursts and gave moral support to the Black Panthers and BLM movements.
Does he have the right to his protest? Sure. But it appears he’s focused his energies on the wrong target: it ain’t the cops, it’s the Soetoros, the Mooches, the Sharptons, the Mosbys, the Holders, the Farrakhans, the Nagins, the Rangels, the Jacksons and half a century of “Great Society” fraud designed to keep blacks on the plantation through entitlements that force them to vote Democrat and perpetuate the oppression.

I think Kaepernick is a tool for supporting a racist movement, but his actions don’t dishonor me as a veteran. That sentiment would grant a status to Kaepernick that he hasn’t earned.

Race relations are much worse than when Obama took office. We are at the point because of deliberate plans laid out and funded by globalists and carried out by societal vandals.
Of course we have racism in this country, of course bad things happen and sometime cops take a life that should not have been taken, but let’s put it in context. Have thing gotten better or worse since the pre-Civil Rights era?
Where else on earth can a black person be successful, safe, prosperous and a full member of a well-functioning society and advance economy?
There will always be at least one egregious instance of racism, inequality, bigotry and unfairness for the activists to point at to keep the flames climbing. Our nation is in the grip of insanity, on many levels.

Colin Kaepernick has dishonored himself, the San Francisco 49ers and the NFL. The fact that his team and the National Football League have not strongly pushed back against and objected to this stupid, spoiled, entitled ingrate is outrageous and has sullied the entire sport. It may be Kaepernick’s right to be an unpatriotic asshat, but the 49ers and the NFL don’t have to respect, support or encourage his disrespectful conduct.

CI and SF…if you’re inferring Kaepernick was consciously used by some racist movement, I doubt that strongly. and I do believe there is that aspect of this situation , as the image shows, where Black soldiers can be thought to have been dishonored by a Black ballplayer who won’t stand for the flag.
There is absolutely NO DOUBT that race relations are worse since Obama….He has literally NEVER talked about coming together; he’s never talked about Chicago’s murder rate or how many Black kids are killing each other. Oh, sure, someone will find a link that says “See? Obama DID say that was wrong?” But almost NEVER, and certainly not a meaningful HARANGUE on Black youth, particularly, on getting schooling, good jobs, avoiding unwed pregnancies, etc etcetc…
A leftwinger like Obama simply can’t allow himself to expect the best out of Black America, expecting them to do WELL……..he’s so into that “Soft bigotry of low expectations,” but we all know he could have used his position as a great goal “Look what I DID as a Black person…YOU CAN DO” NEVER EVER HAPPENED…Black kids only see an angry Black president ever since the Harvard break-in of that professor …

OFF TOPIC, I have to laugh as CNN gets it so wrong again; Trump said our generals are reduced to rubble and the left is saying he’s demeaned the military…when he very clearly commented that this administration hasn’t listened to its generals…..same as when he said our military was in bad shape a month or so ago and blamed it on Obama, but the press interpreted for American voters that he was insulting our soldiers.

Watching a clip on the Townhall last night, I saw Hillary walk up to the rather steep step up to the ‘stage’ ..Matt Lauer came to the edge, shook her hand, and very clearly helped PULL HER UP through that handshake to the dais….I found that fascinating….particularly that it hasn’t been commented on. It was a very clear PULL UP. ..instead of waiting for her to step up and then shake her hand.

Jesse Jackson is one of the Godfathers of the race industry, but there are literally hundreds of groups, nationally and locally who exist on racism [perceived or real] and are paid to do what they do, usually through donation [or shakedowns].

My understanding is that the 49ers have the right, as his employer, to insist that he stand for the National Anthem.. Code of conduct you might say., & if he doesn’t, let him ride the bench for the season. I wonder how many other teams would be lining up to pay him such an obscene salary. As for his whining about ‘racism’, & his support of BLM protesters, that dangerous movement is being funded, at least in part, by the very evil George Soros. C.I., I understood what Trump meant by the statements he uttered. He could’ve phrased them differently and I only wish he had so as to dispel the kind of meaning you and others derived from them. Last night, he did attempt to explain the comment about knowing more than the Generals, which was a poor way to state his intended meaning. He was referring to those that caved in to Obama’s orders despite knowing they are wrong for our country. Trump did support those officers that have resigned over this and I believe if elected he would seek their input. Despite everything, I still have faith Trump will surpass all expectations ………..IF he gets elected!

Mal – I had to post my last in a hurry, if you’ll allow me to expand upon it. I don’t buy it, because the initial statement and last nights ‘amendment’ aren’t logically related, at least in accordance with his own words. “Knowing more” about the enemy than the field of career military officers is not in any way the same thing as disagreeing with military officers who have followed the CiNCs direction [to the extent that POTUS directs military strategy]. Now granted, Trump has been a walking contradiction, whether verbally or Twitter trolling….so which Trump is the real McCoy?
Further to this general point, the right wing would rightly excoriate [and has done so to a certain degree with Obama, though his action are less provable] if Hillary indicated that she would chair field grade officers en mass, for disagreeing with his military policy. Trump is many things….and many things can be overlooked. But when we’re dealing with a narcissist and an authoritarian….this should cause grave concern for every Citizen.

Since I so frequently purloin material from other sources, I kinda got in the habit of posting links or pics to save myself the trouble of paraphrasing and attributing.
I’m simply a compulsive talker, a doubly retired guy with some kinda need for self-expression, even if the data or thesis is plagiarized.
Just love to put words through their paces — marches, waltzes, cha-chas, stomps, tippy-toes, jitterbugs, and the occasional macarena or Marx Brothers episode.
LOVE to parody songs and classic poetry, but a buncha people told me several years ago that that sorta thing gets old after a while, so I post it sparingly these days.
My typical daily rant just automatically runs to around 1200 words, so unless Denny or someone posts them on a blog, they generally go to about 30 people only.
Also like to write novellas in which I allow the characters to grow organically. HATE storyboarding and refuse to do prelim outlines. MUCH more fun to see how things turn out on their own — precisely the opposite from what I told my students in creative writing classes.
Of the more than a dozen lengthy novellas I’ve pumped out (a couple were over 70,000 words), I’ve burned 8 of them in a barrel in my back yard, page by page, in a sort of ritual catharsis. Why? ‘Cause they told me things about myself I’m not entirely sure I want other people to know.
Good that I know those things about me, but prob’ly dangerous for certain others to become aware of about my inner self.
Never have destroyed any of my poetry, tho. Just don’t bother people with it. Milady seems to appreciate the stuff I work up for her . . . or at least she SAYS she does.

If were I an FBI agent, I would despise James Comey. He has humiliated the FBI and all its employees. The institution will never be the same, at least not for decades to come. The FBI is no longer an instrument of justice. It is the reverse. It is an obfuscater of justice and an enabler of the rich and powerful. How depressing and disgusting. God help our republic.

CI, I don’t know what QUDS force is, either…I think Aleppo is a bigger faux pas. Trump doesn’t know a LOT of things…how can ANY politician know everything, particularly when someone’s as new to this as he is? Johnson’s been governor… He seemed SO loaded it was scary.

Z – Trump has a standard line in his Iraq narrative, about Iranian influence, and Iran “taking over Iraq”. The IRGC, or Quds Force is the primary military formation in Iraq right now. This he should know.
But at the time, I cut him slack and didn’t make a big deal of it, contrary to how people are lambasting Johnson over Aleppo. Everybody has a mind blank from time to time….even when Trump wasn’t aware that Russia had invaded Crimea [I could keep going , but I won’t].
Conversely, had Mike Barnacle simply said Syria, since the nation [not a particular city within it] is an aspect of US foreign policy, he would have answered appropriately.
