  1. bocopro says:

Quips and quotes about politics and voting abound in Murka. Here are a few of my favorites:

It’s not who votes that counts; it’s who counts the votes. (attributed to various people, including Joe Stalin)

Truth is not determined by majority vote. (Can’t remember where I first heard it, but it’s a basic truth)

Don’t vote. It just encourages them. (Billy Connolly, Scottish comedian, storyteller)

Every two years the American politics industry fills the airwaves with the most virulent, scurrilous, wall-to-wall character assassination of nearly every political practitioner in the country — and then declares itself puzzled that America has lost trust in its politicians. (Charles Krauthammer)

  2. Lot’s of philosophical writings over the years [especially from the Framers], about electoral participation in this Republic…sadly the ones cited by bocopro are more realistic these days.

  3. I’m having with #3 as stated on the graphic.

Until 2012, I did not have that problem.

  4. Bocopro,
It’s not who votes that counts; it’s who counts the votes. (attributed to various people, including Joe Stalin)

Can we even trust the voting process now? IMO, no!

  5. bocopro says:

Well, AOW, remember the Leftista slogan: Vote Early . . . and Often.

  6. geeez2014 says:

    Bocopro…this is not in America…and it’s 1774, which I found pretty fascinating.
    Some things never change.
your quotes are good…and very, very sad.

AOW…when we see what the people on the other side are doing, and it’s getting worse and worse…how can we feel open hearted to them?

  7. geeez2014 says:

Off Topic; I just heard that America DID send wire tranfers to Iran in the last 14 months and Bill Hemmer interviewed Kevin McCarthy about it, who did the dumbest job answering his questions of anybody I’ve seen….he made no sense, he seemed outraged, then didn’t fill in the spaces with ANY information.
Did they NOT send that huge cash we all saw recently?
Are these transfers even MORE money than was owed?
WHY did Obama say wire transfers were impossible because we had no banking relationship with Iran?

  8. Mal says:

For months, I have been fearing what Obama might do during his last days in office, and he appears to be doing it. I also fear he is simply waiting till after the election to really pour it on. I only hope whoever gets in can and will be able to reverse it. I wouldn’t put it past him to xfer even more money to Iran under an excuse it was “owed” to them. That man is so despicable!

  9. Imp says:

This is interesting…DT is live now in High Point, NC and behind him are hundreds of voting age millennials! Whereas before, killary had children behind her at a recent speech…I mean 12 to 16 year olds.

  10. geeez2014 says:

Mal, you definitely called this right. By the way, if you MISTAKENLY give citizenship, apparently you can’t TAKE IT BACK? WHY NOT?

Imp; he’s at a college…aren’t those kids marvelous? I emailed Kid just now that Hillary and Bernie kids look like the Woodstock bunch, Trump’s supporter kids look so clean cut and enthusiastic! What’s happened to High Point’s manufacturing is shocking….in my business I dealt with tons of manufacturers there and they’re barely there now….

  11. geeez2014 says:

Clinton leads in Florida again….his lead shrank. Ya, it’s better than it was, but…
If it wasn’t for that jerk Johnson, we’d probably win.

  12. Sparky says:

I like the 1774 election advice. Too bad we’re not a white society anymore. (Face it, it’s true.) Politeness has flown out the window along with grace, kindness, manners, and telling the truth.
@Z ~ Gary Johnson is a burned out dope head. He really needs to drop out of the race! If he truly loved America, he would. So that means he won’t.

  13. Mal says:

Z, I believe taking back citizenship once it has been given would be next to impossible, unless they were convicted of a serious crime, like treason. Also, how could you get money back from Iran once given? Ask for it? HA!

  14. Mal,
The word despicable isn’t a strong enough word!

  15. Bob says:

John Wesley said a lot of worthwhile things. This is one thing I like about the Methodist Church. Everyone is welcome as long as they believe in the basics of salvation. We can always work on the rest.

  16. geeez2014 says:

Sparky, I just sub’d an English class of Freshmen who blew my mind….Clean cut, adorable, kind, smart, quiet, fun….they shouldn’t pay me because it was so much fun…75 minutes with 15 year olds was FUN! (it isn’t always!) … it gave me HOPE for our country! Yes, it’s a Christian Prep School, but a lot aren’t Christian…they’re just SO GOOD….. so adorable!
And yes, every time I see Johnson, I think “he is SO LOADED”…who flips the peace sign as a ‘goodbye’ to an interviewer? GARY JOHNSON.

Mal, that seems insane to me if it was a real MISTAKE.
The president totally lied…am eager to see if CNN has covered it at all…..FOX did, of course.

Bob, I can say plenty about some Methodist pastors’ ideologies, but I wouldn’t blame Methodism for it…and I try to make it a habit not to put my two cents in on any Christian denominations… But when I heard “the main message of God is LOVE” that about did me in… (WHAT??? and THAT said in a large group of Christians and Jews after 9/11! All my friends just rolled our eyes!) But, yes, we can always work on the rest…but please don’t mischaracterize the faith!
I loved this list…being SO OLD!

  17. Imp says:

@Z…what subject did you cover? The elections?

  18. geeez2014 says:

Imp? Subject? As a sub? English. Oedipus the King…Sophocles….

  19. Imp says:

    @Z….ahhhhh….Trump it was then…LOL

  20. Think Lucky Luciano.
    From http://immigration.findlaw.com/citizenship/can-your-u-s-citizenship-be-revoked-.html

Although rare, it is possible for a naturalized U.S. citizen to have his or her citizenship stripped through a process called “denaturalization.” Former citizens who are denaturalized are subject to removal (deportation) from the United States. Natural-born U.S. citizens may not have their citizenship revoked against their will, but may choose to renounce their citizenship on their own.

This article covers the grounds for having one’s citizenship revoked, the basics of the denaturalization process, and defenses to denaturalization.

    Grounds for Denaturalization

Falsification or Concealment of Relevant Facts: You must be absolutely truthful when filling out paperwork and answering interview questions related to the naturalization application process. Even if the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) fails to recognize any lies or ommissions at first, the agency may file a denaturalization action against you after citizenship has been granted. Examples include failure to disclose criminal activities or lying about one’s real name or identity.
Refusal to Testify Before Congress: You may not refuse to testify before a U.S. congressional committee whose job it is to investigate your alleged involvement in subversive acts, such as those intended to harm U.S. officials or overthrow the U.S. government. This requirement to testify in order to maintain citizenship status expires after 10 years.
Membership in Subversive Groups: Your citizenship may be revoked if the U.S. government can prove that you joined a subversive organization within five years of becoming a naturalized citizen. Membership in such organizations is considered a violation of the oath of U.S. allegiance. Examples include the Nazi Party and Al Qaeda.
Dishonorable Military Discharge: Since you may become a naturalized U.S. citizen by virtue of serving in the U.S. military, your citizenship may be revoked if you are dishonorably discharged before serving five years. Reasons for dishonorable discharge, which must follow a general court-martial, include desertion and sexual assault.

  21. geeez2014 says:

Imp…I wasn’t sure what you meant by ‘what subject did you cover?’ You DID mean at school, right??
It reminds me, tho, that there was a vocabulary bit of reading they had to do aloud which covered clothing and one of the sentences was something about how clothing indicates politicians, too…and so I asked “How’s clothing indicate politics?” And one of the boys said “like TRUMP T SHIRTS!”?? Some kids giggled but I couldn’t tell if it was snarky giggling or good giggling, darn!

Ed, thanks….They were able to obtain citizenship by “using different names or birth dates in applications. The discrepancies weren’t caught because their fingerprints were missing from federal databases.” They lied…so the citizenship ought to be illegal anyway.
And, by the way, do you KNOW how hard Germans and French and other countries have to work, and wait, to become citizens?
Is anybody asking about THAT? Instant citizenship? HOW????

  22. geeez2014 says:

TRUMP: Some pretty bad charity information is coming out. Pretty damning, sadly.
MY GOSH, the Leftwingers are doing ALL THEY CAN in EVERY ARENA to SCREW TRUMP’S CHANCES>…..I don’t believe I have turned on CNN in 2 months without a GET TRUMP story on…they’re OBSESSED. Then you switch to FOX and they’re covering some international important news, or something about the economy…….you switch back to CNN GET TRUMP GET TRUMP GET TRUMP! I’m thinking even leftwingers are coming to a “ARE YOU KIDDING? AGAIN?” moment.
    I can hope.

  23. I may have said this elsewhere, Oh, at Sparky’s.
They are bringing in the muslims and only muslims, to dilute our Christian heritage.
    That is demonically inspired.

  24. Bob says:

Z: If you read John Wesley I think you would like him. Of course, today some Methodist Churches are going ultra-liberal but that is not what Wesley taught.

  25. geeez2014 says:

BOb, thanks for that…I’ll give some of it a try….yes, it’s the ultra-liberal, NON Wesley stuff that’s indicative of Methodists today, sadly. Lutherans are going that way, too…….except their churches are shrinking so small, so fast, (due to the leadership, by the way), that at least Methodists are lucky to still exist in some strength..i thinK?

Ed….I just don’t get it…..what can it be other than demonic? What a toehold the dark one has got on our country. Some bought into it, others have not. Fascinating on a million levels, honestly.
