Charlotte, NC PROTESTS

What’s your take on the unrest in Charlotte?…. I can’t watch anymore.  Must it be on every single cable news show all night long?

It feels like a lot of angry people looking for a good excuse to feel powerful and tough.  I TOTALLY get really bad things happen between cops and citizens, and I am sorry that female cop didn’t tase and shot instead, but things have to change, we can’t have that happening anymore and we can’t have these ridiculous and dangerous protests anymore.

Ben Carson’s talking about “everybody getting together to talk.”   How’s that going to help? Who do you think will be come out ahead of that conversation?  One Black woman on The Kelly File reminded Americans after Carson spoke that ‘Who’s he to say anything, he’s a guy who tried to hit his mother with a hammer..’….does she know how long ago that was and what a stellar life he’s led since?  So how do we reason with that?

What are your thoughts?  HOW CAN WE COOL THINGS DOWN BETWEEN COPS AND PARTICULARLY BLACK CITIZENS?

As I’ve said hunnerts o’ times, when a stray cat comes to your back door and you give him some food and attention, you’ll have a helluva time getting rid of him. Similarly, if you give an ignorant, unemployed professional victim a microphone, you’ll have a helluva time shutting him up.

Don’t romanticize criminal behavior. Don’t give them a platform. Just report the facts: “An unruly crowd of poorly informed troublemakers vandalized businesses, obstructed traffic, and made general nuisances of themselves last night in Charlotte. Several instigators were arrested.”
    Period.

Putting vandals and racebaiters on camera just encourages them. It’s like the 2-yr-old who discovers that a screaming tantrum is very likely to get him a cookie, or ice cream, or whatever else he wants, so he pursues the ploy until he’s rewarded. Ignore him long enough and he’ll realize he’s just getting himself hot and sweaty with a sore throat and go take a nap.

Basically speaking, when a Jackson or a Sharpton or another Jackson or even a Soetoro says “We need to have a conversation about race,” what it means is “We want to tell you how it’s going to be while you sit and listen quietly . . . and take notes.”

And when a Sowell or a Williams or Cosby any other reasonable black suggests solutions such as blacks helping police reduce crime in inner cities or blacks staying in school to get some education or black teenagers not having babies until they get married or black men not fathering children they can’t support, they’re called Oreos or Uncle Toms or “big-house n——s.”

Gotta tell ya . . . as a young man I was very liberal and championed the underdog, often those friends who happened to be Mexican or black. I’ve been married to a lady for over 50 years now who is not Caucasian; our children are halo-halo, and proud of it. But those people burning and looting businesses, destroying city property, throwing rocks and bottles at LEOs . . . they ain’t scorin any style points with me, and I betcha that goes for a whole lotta folks in Flyoverland.

Well, the blacks don’t want it to change (more of them than we think) and the democrats don’t want it to change since they love the division. I think about half the shootings I’m aware of were justified and half were just plain murder. I think any reasonable person thinks there are a lot more incidents than we know about. This will never be over.

It’s 2016 and suposedly only 10% have integrated into ‘American’ society? The rest don’t want to How many African names did you hear in 1970? I never heard a single one.

I wish that I could answer that question with exactitude but I can’t.
All I can see is massive unemployment, substandard education and lack of parental guidance in these communities and the adverse results of such. Accordingly I can speculate that events we are witnessing will have a negative impact on law enforcement’s willingness to get involved in these areas. Further, law enforcement recruitment may even suffer, as well. Sorry I can’t be more optimistic.

Bocopro: You said it so well and the way it USED to be: “An unruly crowd of poorly informed troublemakers vandalized businesses, obstructed traffic, and made general nuisances of themselves last night in Charlotte. Several instigators were arrested.”

I keep watching the protesters and vandals and think “Why are we giving such credence to these people? This isn’t the way to protest and get things done!” And, they’re jeopardizing MORE lives! Well said, Boco.

Kid, I don’t think African names have helped integration but I think a LOT more than that small percentage live normal American lives….even if their names do sound like pharmaceutical products, let’s face it. A BLACK COMEDIAN once said that and I had to laugh with agreement…

Imp “They’ll be the same morons 100 years from now.” Some will…because they’re young enough to have idiotic young parents who never gave them any hope, any promise, any good advice…then we got a Black president who did ZIP to help AT ALL. The only Black teens I know are so clean cut and good and fun and smart that it’s hard for me to relate sometimes to the punks I see on TV.

JMB: That part is REALLY scary…. Finally, Harlem and other Black ghettos have gentrified a bit; are we going to go back to even worse slums? We’ve got so many kids who aren’t educated and don’t have jobs………Heck , some spokeswoman for the Black Caucus said ‘I AXED THEM’ yesterday…AXED? Has she never READ THAT WORD? that’s sad…….

  8. The Charlotte riots are manufactured, paid for by supporters of Hillary Clinton. The same paid agitators have shown up all over our country to stir up mobs & cause riots, looting & violence. This is all by design to prevent the poor & minorities from learning the truth about our government’s failing policies. And they don’t care who gets hurt in the process. We must end the tyranny of the far Left, they only care about retaining their power. Everyone but them & their cronies are far worse off! Hillary Clinton wants to continue with the status quo.

    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-09-22/who-behind-riots-charlotte-police-says-70-arrested-protesters-had-out-state-ids

    http://dailycaller.com/2016/09/22/charlotte-naacp-president-it-really-doesnt-matter-if-he-had-a-gun-video/

Oh really? Does a man with this victim’s criminal & prison record of assault and battery with a deadly weapon have a right to have a gun? I don’t think so. I’m sick of this nonsense! Citizens who’ve been pulled over do not have the right to threaten the lives of law enforcement officers, if they do they should expect to be shot.

Read about the criminal record of this unfortunately now deceased “family man.” He assaulted children and the women in his life. And he threatened his victims while armed.

    This from another source:

“One source, who asked CTN to refrain from using her name to protect her identity, told reporters that Scott fired a handgun at San Antonio police officers when they attempted to detain him in February 2005 after noticing that he was driving erratically. (Scott had a history of drunk driving, according to court records).

Allegedly, as the officers approached Scott’s black Ford sedan, he fired two rounds from the driver’s seat and then sped away. Neither of the officers was hit, and they proceeded to give chase and detain Scott several blocks away.

While Scott did leave the gun in his passenger’s seat when he attempted to run on-foot, he did, according to our source, assault one officer by punching him in the face.

Scott was released from Texas state prison in 2011. ”

So he had a history of shooting at police officers, folks. And yet those protesting would have us believe he was not a threat and had a right to own a gun. 3 nights of rioting, looting and violence because an armed criminal refused to drop his weapon and lost his life because of his bad decision. This is just sad.

KId has hit on something. Black people will not listen to calm and measured reasoning. They have been hearing that stuff for all their lives, and their parents lives.

Somehow we have to get past the looting and lawlessness, and address the basic problem. I have commented many times that I am sympathetic to black people who are afraid of and doubt the police, because I have seen police abusing black people before. It is nothing new. Even though most of the killings were “justified”, it is as if black people have a Pavlovian response that the deck is stacked against them now as it has been for decades and decades.

We have a societal issue. We are pouring garbage and sewage into our culture, no shared values or mores. Charles Murray writes about it in Coming Apart. We’ve always had our Belmonts and our Fishtowns, but what’s different now is that Belmonters actually celebrate a cleaned-up fetishization of Fishtown’s broken culture and takes not action to try to help the Fishtowners clean up their act.

We also need better police screening and training. It takes a special set of skills to be a cop–not everyone can do it. One questionable shoot, like the one in Tulsa, and the activists make it out like that’s the norm when it is not.

The other factor is George Soros money. Soros is a bat-winged international supervillain, and he is ‘investing’ his money all over the globe to sow chaos so he can profit from it.

Bob: “Black people will not listen to calm and measured reasoning. It’s fascinating to watch the CNN Black panelists vs the FOX ones….all articulate, all well educated, …but such differing viewpoint.

SF…she should never have shot….yes, ONE questionable shoot and it’s HELL TO PAY…and it’s all of law enforcement who must be shot by loons across the country……

  18. Z, I have an employee who is a highly-educated, wonderful woman. She’s an asset to our company and a nice person. I spend a lot of time with her every day and I enjoy it. And she happens to be black. She raised a daughter who is also highly-educated and productive. She and her daughter both have husbands who are also highly-educated and productive, law-abiding citizens. The police around here have pulled them and their husbands numerous times for no apparent reason. They were not speeding, their license plates had not expired, they were not driving erratically, they had no lights out – nothing. After they’ve pulled over the officer asks for license, insurance and registrations. These two ladies live in fear every time their husbands are late coming home from work, afraid something has happened to them. That is the flip side of this. We DO have a problem with cops pulling over law-abiding black citizens without probable cause. You’ve heard the term “driving while black?” It’s happening every day. That’s not right either.

Race relations have only worsened over the years and will continue to do so, despite our efforts. Before WW ll, very little was ever heard because Blacks and Whites lived apart in separate neighborhoods. If ever there was an incident, very little was made of it because there was no TV or 24 hour coverage of everything nationwide. As everyone keeps pointing out, if the media would take away the rioters platform, it would help tremendously……..but that ain’t gonna happen, folks. Too much $$$$$$$$ for all media and TV is no different. Blacks and Whites were more polite to one another before, also. Living in Louisiana, though brought up on the East & Left Coasts (Los Angeles area, & there during the first Watts riot), born in Texas, I see a lot of blacks of all ages & types. Far & away the women are the most likely to get up in your face & be bellicose. It is a matriarchal society, & becoming more so due to the Welfare system of encouraging absentee fathers & the birthing of multiple, multiple offspring. Many of these women walk around with an invisible chip on their shoulder, but you can tell it’s there. Occasionally I’ll look at the births listed for the hospitals in Monroe, La., & at the Charity Hospital the unmarried far outnumber the married parents. Also, a large percentage of no father listed at all.

They said they did at first but not anymore, which thrilled me…I told them I was glad they’d felt uncomfortable…it’s important we speak openly and truthfully.
In the next class I had to show that clip to, it was more full of Black GIRLS, and I didn’t open my sweet little mouth; I let them do the talking and they were fine, but if I had said anything like I did to the class that had no Black GIRLS? HELL TO PAY…I learned that there a few years ago.
