  1. Tillerson seems like an extremely capable manager…I can’t find anything by which to oppose his selection. I’m just happy it’s not Bolton.

  2. John M. Berger says:

I vote YES. Along with Trump I’ve long advocated for more business in government and Tillerson fits that role. Apparently, in his >40 year career he has worked with/in many countries and has developed relationships, etc. that may prove beneficial. I wouldn’t object to Bolton filling a ‘second’ spot in that office; I don’t know where that stands.

  3. bocopro says:

Well . . . though he personifies the “drain the swamp” motif which DJT so often professed, he may be just a bit TOO much of a left-handed monkey wrench.

Senate confirmation is no gimme here, and I wonder if his nomination isn’t just a ruse to take heat off some of his other picks, a bone to the Alt-Left dogs as it were.

Could he do the job? Donno. The chumminess with various dictators with established patterns of being unable to work and play well with others has to be a major concern. Would he honestly and faithfully pursue whatever The Don’s policy toward Russia and Saudi Arabia and hordes of other miscreants becomes? Donno.

My question is why he’d even consider doing it. I mean, in today’s world, your success at gummint jobs at the policy-making level is measured not so much by your triumphs as by the depths of your failures.

Russia is paranoid; always has been . . . always will be. And Putin is a KGB-trained thug whose prime motivation is resurrection of the Soviet Union with all those comfy little buffer states along its western frontier. He simply can’t be trusted, no matter how strong the good ol’ boy relationship with Tillerson might be.

Ergo, all that said, my vote is something I learned from the smartest man in the entire solar system:

  4. Kid says:

Let’s see madeline albright or Tillerson… Hmmm.

I want successful people in important if not all positions to be filled. I don’t know the guy but his resume seems to fit the job description pretty well. He surely knows about alll the oil producing countries and those all seem to be near the top of the general pain in the butt list.

The only thing I’ve seen negative so far in the “news” is that Exxon-Mobil could make some more billions with him in there. Well poo-poo-magoo. Like there aren’t always billions to be made all around any administration’s cabinet members and friends and interests.

Last I heard Bolton is set to be Assistant Secy of State.

  5. John M. Berger says:

As an addendum to my previous comment, in perspective: I’d have much preferred if the recent “negotiations” with Iran had been executed by [real world] negotiators, Trump/Tillerson, as opposed to the disaster perpetrated by career politicians, B.O./Lurch. I’ll assume that this needs no further explanation.

  6. Sparky says:

After much review, I think Tillerson will be a good choice. He’s familiar with dealing with foreign countries, since Exxon is so big it’s almost it’s own country in it’s own right. At least with President Trump, I think that if someone doesn’t perform properly, he’ll fire them. Period. That’s good enough for me. Time will tell if Tillerson was a good choice or not.

  7. geeez2014 says:

I agree with you all. I think this is a good choice.
Obviously, you all know how eager the Lefties are to get rid of this guy “too rich” “Too big oil” “No gov’t experience!” “Too friendly with Putin!” rubbish.

This country SHOULD want brilliant men who’ve done SO well for their companies and who say they now want to do that well for their country (he’ll be workin’ for US). I’ve never been the Bob Gates fan many of you are but I heard yesterday that it was he who brought Tillerson to Trump’s attention…they had never met before.

I do like John Bolton but know many think he’s far too hawkish. Still, I’d rather he be Assistant Sec of State than THE GUY of any department. I’ve heard him speak in person and he’s very bright.

JMB…WOULD that TIllerson/Trump had been in on the Iran negotiations!

What ALL OF US need to know is that some deals we think should happen will NOT happen for reasons we will never be privy to…sadly, Ryan’s reputation among very rightwing cons has suffered because they feel he should be able to wave a magic wand and MAKE US HAPPY. Well, Trump’s going to find HE can’t do that , either, and some of us will be disappointed….negotiations of the kind Trump will be involved with will have details they simply can’t share…..and we have to realize that and trust that he did his best, the best possible, not exactly what WE or HE wanted….

Bocopro…the people backing Tillerson…Gates, Cheney, Condi (who I have a story about which has almost turned me totally OFF her, but..) and other pretty heavyweight people are convincing me he’s the guy. Gates knows Tillerson, suggested Tillerson ….I’m hoping that’s a good thing.I’m NOT a Gates fan but plenty of good Cons are, so…………

    “let us pray!” 🙂

  8. geeez2014 says:

Kid, re the Exxon gazillions which can be made while Tillerson’s in office….that’s a good point.

BUT, it dovetails this TRUMP WITCH HUNT….it’s as if only NOW the Left has finally figured out WHO TRUMP$$$ is….what did they THINK Trump was going to do, sell everything off the day after his election?

To the LEFT: “These people are STINKING RICH…..they’re doing this to help our country and, yes, stroke their egos (can’t deny that), they’re rich, which comes FROM being brilliant, working REALLY hard, and succeeding….What’s the down side to their doing that FOR US???”

WHO ON THIS PLANET DIDN’T KNOW TRUMP WAS RICH? and NOW it’s discussions about what he’ll do with his company? And nothing’s sounding good enough for a LOT of people…..

“RICH LIVES MATTER!” (COME TO THINK OF IT!!! Maybe we should have some peaceful marches for them?!! HA!)
And, if you don’t like that, lefties, you tell US where you’d be if it weren’t for rich employers, okay?

  9. Kid says:

Just a favorite thing the left likes to of course They know a lot of people want some of that money for nothing. Bernie Sanders was very popular.

Rich Lives Matter. I like it. 🙂

  10. fredd says:

Donald Trump could have picked the first name at random out of the Des Moines phone book to be Sec. of State, and that random nobody would do way less damage to our country than Hillary Clinton or John Kerry did in that post.

Rex Tillerson will do a bang up job. Despite John McCain’s and Marco Rubio’s panties getting all bunched up thinking about the prospect. Not to mention those pathetic democrats who for some unknown reason managed to hold their senate seats.

  11. geeez2014 says:

fredd, that made me laugh out loud!! I’ve been thinking lately it was only last week John Kerry even surfaced…he keeps a VERY low profile… very funny!
    Calling Des Moines………!!

Rubio needs to keeep quiet, we don’t need people fighting against Trump. I expect no better from McCain but do of Rubio. Or did.

Kid, RICH LIVES MATTER…I wish I had called my blog that now 🙂
Ya, it’s sort of the same BS the Left gave cops in the Sixites/Seventies and why thinking people countered with “If you’re in trouble, call a hippie!”

We can say “if you need a JOB, call a poor person”…make sense? No CALL A CORPORATION!

  12. geeez2014 says:

big articles today on how ELTON JOHN and GARTH BROOKS won’t perform at the Inauguration festivities….the writer says the Trump people are offering money AND appointments if they perform. A Trump spokesperson says nobody’s ever offered money or appointments, but if that’s the truth, the damage was done by the ‘fake news’ they were.

Sad that EVERY SINGLE THING Trump tries to do is SO badly insulted….WE don’t care who performs, most people don’t, but the left LOVES to report those who WON’T are BIIIGGG stars who’d have gladly performed for Hillary and were on the record for that.

The fun’s never going to stop. I remember saying that when Bush was elected and I saw the insults every day, but his was chicken feed compared to what Trump’s getting. They are MAD at his win, they are JEALOUS of his success, they are FEARFUL that this country just MIGHT become great again and that “great” in this case doesn’t include end of term abortion, no corporations, no churches, climate change regulations which would have stopped businesses from succeeding, LGBT people coming before heteros, etc ETC etc……….they need to get a grip and work for THIS COUNTRY, not their selfishness in pushing it even quicker than it will go into as kind of socialist nightmare.
And it WILL, because I heard yesterday that 1 in 8 professors across this country are leftwingers, many even identifying themselves as MARXISTS. So, when the older profs die off, this is what we’ll have: 100% MARXISTS.

Let’s enjoy Trump and his America-loving, Constitution-respecting, realistic people while we have them.

  13. cube says:

I think Tillerson is a good choice. Certainly better than previous ones, namely Albright, Powell, Clinton, Kerry. I like it even more with Bolton at second base.

  14. geeez2014 says:

this is the kind of UTTER CRAP we’re going to be hearing for at least the next 4 years. The Left is SO UGLY and SO busy making sure as many people hear as much NASTINESS AGAINST TRUMP and his family as they can.
It’s like the media’s the NEW PROFESSORS….1 out of 8 University profs espouse Conservatism…a scary percentage of young professors self label themselves as MARXIST…the older profs are retiring, the Marxists are there to take over.

And SO our media is now like the universities…nasty and ONE SIDED, NEVER EVER allowing anybody the right to THINK but they MUST ACCEPT THE PROF’S WORD.

media/universities= the end of AMerica. Just like Communism warned us about “We’ll take over in your schools and press”.

VOILA. “Listen up, you IDIOT liberals, and realize what you’re doing!”

    End of rant 🙂

  15. Kid says:

It’s time to divorce the left. Irreconcilable differences. Though things like these reviews (haven’t looked ) are often made by soro’s paid goons. They hit comment sections of articles, etc all day long making them look more numerous than they really are. The left are Fascist though.

  16. Mal says:

I trust Trump’s decisions. Certainly more than Obama’s, for sure! If Exxon profits from any of Tillerson’s decisions, so be it as long as it doesn’t adversely affect the U.S. like Hillary did. Our country is like a huge corporation with 350 million “stockholders” and as such, needs extremely sharp people at the top to keep it healthy. In that regard, I believe we are on the right track.

  17. geeez2014 says:

“Larry Lessig — an anti-Trump Harvard University constitutional law professor and co-founder of “Electors Trust,” which provides “free and strictly confidential legal support to any elector who wishes to vote their conscience” — says at least 20, and perhaps as many as 30, Republican electors are considering rejecting Trump.”

Can you IMAGINE the flack ANY anti-Hillary law prof would get for free legal support on how electors don’t have to vote for HILLARY!??

Of course, he bases all this on CONSCIENCE.. how could ANYONE with a conscience vote for a man like Trump, right?
    Imagine saying THAT about HILLARY!??

  18. Imp says:

This nutty professor’s fantasy isn’t going to happen. Nevertheless, if it did, it would cause massive chaos and likely violence in the streets. I would join his supporters in the streets if this handful of appointed insiders tried to steal the election that Trump won fair and square.

Is it legal to try influencing electors? I mean, once the election-election is over, are political parties allowed to “campaign” among the electors to persuade them to vote a particular way? Especially to persuade them to vote against the choice of the people they’re supposed to represent?

I’m not an election wonk but I can’t recall ever seeing, in my lifetime, either party considering the Electoral College to be anything more than a formality – a group that basically rubber-stamps the electorate’s decisions. Did I miss something?

Again, this a new, dirty trick being played by the DemonRats? It’s hard to persuade a million people to vote your way. It’s much easier to persuade (or bribe or intimidate) a single elector to vote your way.

I’m thinking electors should be legally off limits – sequestered, basically – once the votes are counted. Too much room for corruption if they’re left open to threats and blandishments from the parties and the media.

God…I so hate liberals….please …no bag limit if it starts.

  19. Imp says:

I can see it now…drive bys at Starbucks.

  20. Kid says:

IMP, I’m convinced there is nothing they won’t do and that includes killing people. I hear soros is trying to pay them off too

My first targets would be media actually.

  21. Imp says:

    Media too insulated and isolated.

  22. Baysider says:

I know nothing about him. But, let’s see, John Kerry – – Tilleraon? This can’t be too hard a decision. So glad it’s not the Hildebeast!

  23. Kid says:

IMP, that’s why it will take someone with my skill set.

  24. Kid says:

“Hildebeast”, now there’s a term of endearment I support ! heh

  25. Kid says:

IMP, Russains. Also funny. And “The Russians hacked the election”? If by that they mean, they (or anyone) caused a bunch of factual information about the cheating, lying, pieces of human garbage that are the clintons, the DNC, and the entire democrat party to be released to the public then Ok, but geez obama say that.

Long Live Wikileaks. And both parties. Educate these snowflakes, cupcakes, and buttercups who these barely human people are. Would do A World of Good.

  26. geeez2014 says:

Imp, as I asked the other day, what if the Republicans were whining about how their electors hadn’t realized HIllary was for late-term abortion…so Rightwing lawyers were asking to convince them that they need to not vote for Hillary after all? NEVER HAPPEN. YOu can’t suddenly say “Oh, something has happened since the election, so now you can change your mind!”

I’m getting a NOSE FULL (as they say in Germany) of the leftwingers…Just put on CNN for 3 minutes…I dare you! Good one on the Starbucks drive bys.

Kid and Baysider…I like Hildebeast, too, but am trying to find a NEW one! Something that fits the LOSS 🙂

  27. geeez2014 says:

painful to hear Trump tell all the tech bigwigs today in a meeting that “you must like me now” because their stocks are up. Oh, God.
Honestly, I think he’s Sally Fields in drag.

  28. geeez2014 says:

I think TUCKER CARLSON’s new show is great; he’s very hard hitting, informed, etc., but have you others who watch noticed how he beats dead horses? Sometimes he’s so ideological (in the right way..hurrah!) that he says things like “show me where the Russian hacking influenced voters”, insinuating that it doesn’t really matter that they CAN hack and get even classified info….
He does that about once a show…taking a point to the rather ridiculous.

We don’t want Russians hacking but to suggest that it’s only bad if it causes something bad isn’t smart, in my opinion?

  29. Baysider says:

Well, we could back to Shrillery. ??

  30. Silverlady says:

‘Yes’ to Tillerson. I hear he’s a very tough negotiator, which is what we need after 8 l-o-o-n-g years of being bamboozled, walked on, & given the shaft..

Re Elton & Garth, I wouldn’t go 5 feet to see either one, even for free. Brooks is a fool, as so many of his fans were Trump supporters, unlike the Elton snowflakes.

You can bet George Soros filthy paws are behind this toying with the electors, as well as any other disturbances. i finally realized what/who he looks like. The very evil mastermind under the hoodie hunched in the chair in STAR WARS. And John Kerry-Heinz looks like Lurch from THE ADDAMS FAMILY.

  31. LL says:

Tillerson will prove himself to be one of the very best Secretaries of State in history.

  32. I thought Tucker really was missing the point about the hacking,
It’s not ONE Thing you can point to (as he was asking for), it was the aggregate.
The result of all the hacking was to discredit Clinton.
    Was that intended? Of course.
Did that lead to her losing? Of course?
Was the ELECTION hacked? No! Only influenced.
    Thank God.

  33. Kid says:

Baysider, anything would be an improvement.

All – I just find it interesting (and worse for me actually) that no one ever said Ronald, or Bill, or Al (gore) or John (kerry) Or says Donald, but it seems everyone says hil……

It seems a term of endearment. I shows respect for someone who doesn’t deserve any. It breaks from my first point above. I just find it damn interesting and of course…other things..

  34. Kid says:

Ed, I really don’t think the Podesta emails had any effect at all. I don’t think a single democrat voter read them, searched the, or even cared what was in them. This whole ‘hacking’ thing is a big pile of nothing. So, it fits the democrats edoesn’t it. Big pile of nothing.

It’s a sham excuse that the dems lost because they are a worthless pile of dung. They are in fact a pedantic, pontificating, pretentious pile of bastards, belligerent young and old farts and worthless steaming piles of cow dung in search of a valid excuse for why they ran a dead squirrel with no new ideas in an evironment starving for a new idea and lost. I don’t even think a dung beetle would squish them into a ball and roll them away.

  35. Imp says:

Thanks for the enlightening smelly video Kid…from it I have concluded two things…that klinton voters and podesta are the dung beetles…and of course killary is the ball of shit….in a pantsuit of course…that’s how she fools uswith that disguise. But look close when she turns around…..the flys swarming are a dead give away.

  36. geeez2014 says:

Kid, but I have met people who are Dems and truly WERE turned off by the Hillary email thing….very much so. Still, you’re probably right…they either ended up voting for her anyway or just didn’t vote; they certainly probably didn’t vote for Trump!

Ed…exactly…I think a lot of us thought Tucker was off base on that..

Silverlady and LL…we can only hope Tillerson’s the one. He seems like a home run to ME.

  37. Kid says:

IMP, and the killary ball is not round it is square or trapazoidal making that much hard to roll even on an even playing field with no mysoginists in sight. May I add that it was only about 12 months agao that I even head the word mysoginists and frankly still dont kinow what it means other than something negative about women – or females.

  38. Kid says:

Z, there were still 68% of the snowflake cupcakes in the tank for the satanic ejection beast at the time of the election. Mostly what I was thinking of when I made that comment. But sure, there were no doubt a few clinton lovers who may have gotten a little bit of an education from that. I don’t think enough to have made a difference in the vote tally however.

  39. geeez2014 says:

Kid, you’re right…no difference in the vote tally, they’re not THAT smart 🙂

This cracked me UP “…it was only about 12 months ago that I even head the word mysoginists and frankly still dont kinow what it means other than something negative about women – or females.”

You are SO RIGHT…we have all SORTS of terms we never heard until leftwingies started going insane on us! MYSOGINIST.. …..MICROAGGRESSION!? …SAFE ROOMS? OMG!!

  40. Kid says:

    Thank you Z… 🙂

  41. Kid says:

PS Z, I’ve heard the nouns describing male and female sexual genitals more in the last year and a half than in all of my life put together twice, and I’m 64. And I’m not fond of it.

  42. Baysider says:

Too bad the left wasn’t so worried about what the Clintons were doing with their foundation as they are about Trump and his holdings (which are FAR MORE TRANSPARENT).

  43. geeez2014 says:

    Baysider; AMEN TO THAT!!!
