Obama’s last minute kick at Israel….and US Citizens

A BIG SECRET?   Did you see THIS?  Obama released $200 million to the Palestinian Authority on Inauguration morning?   Going against the final approval of all of those in Congress?  INTERESTING is that I’d heard this news on Mark Levin and Googled afterwards “Obama $200 million Palestine January 23, 2017”.  Only this link came up;  no New York Times, no L A Times, no Globe, no CNN, no FOX, no Tribunes…..just the paper in Roanoke, VA!   THAT really struck me as odd.  Here is a snippet:

“Congress had initially approved the Palestinian funding in budget years 2015 and 2016, but at least two GOP lawmakers — Ed Royce of California, the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Kay Granger of Texas, who sits on the House Appropriations Committee — had placed holds on it over moves the Palestinian Authority had taken to seek membership in international organizations. Congressional holds are generally respected by the executive branch but are not legally binding after funds have been allocated.

The Obama administration had for some time been pressing for the release of the money for the Palestinian Authority, which comes from the U.S. Agency for International Development and is to be used for humanitarian aid in the West Bank and Gaza, to support political and security reforms as well as help prepare for good governance and the rule of law in a future Palestinian state, according to the notification sent to Congress.”

Wait.  “Good governance” in Palestine?  “the rule of law?”  Would that be continually lobbing missiles at Israel?

Nope, that hold placed on this bill isn’t legally binding…so Obama knew that and went ahead behind Congress at the last minute, but WHY?   You think Netanyahu might discuss this with Trump when they meet?    Uh…yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  1. I remember all the major networks being critical of the last Administration, particular with regard to 4th amendment protections [or rather, lack thereof], the use of drones against US citizens and collateral civilians, and his empty posturing over Syria.

Haven’t heard about the Palestinian deal until now.

  2. jerrydablade says:

This is real treason perpetrated by the out-going president. He should be arrested and put on trial, but he won’t even miss his tee time.

  3. bocopro says:

Hey, c’mon . . . they were runnin out of ammo. What’s ur problem! He said he’d side with them if the winds shifted in an ugly direction, didunhe?

As Roman Moroni would say, “Snikky bastidges.”

The problem with the mainstream media is that they’ve shifted the focus so that the story is all about them, not the news. William Randolph Hearst was the progenitor in that with his attitude toward Cuba in the late 19th century: “You furnish the pictures; I’ll furnish the war.”

  4. Kid says:

1st off, it just went through my mind as I was thinking about Sean Spicer’s press thing yesterday a few minutes ago, that all we heard from that mealy-moughted pack of rabid media dogs was Give obama a chance. Here’s a guy with no experience at anything and hey, let’s give him a chance, 4 years later it was still give him a chance – versus hammer everything and anything Trump related. Here’s someone who accomplished more before taking office than obama did in 8 years. They really are 3 yr old evil brats when you boil it down. It won’t change so I’m not going to spend a lot of time thinking about it.

I would not support sending money to any foreign entity other than as a loan and if they don’t pay it back under the terms, then they’re on credit hold and I would never send money to an islamic entity or any state that has serious human rights issues like N Korea.

Sending money to other other countries in my mind is supporting terrorism and socialism. Why would we ever consider doign that. Has to be money laundering.

  5. FB says:

He’s just the biggest trou du cul.

  6. geeez2014 says:

Ci…I watch everything quite often and don’t remember that, but I’m glad to hear that. I’m totally against drones of all kinds. Most channels had excuses for the red line neglect; I do remember lots of excuses for positions that were pretty important. We all have ‘alternate facts’….a true and very sad state of being.

Jerry..it was totally legal but unethical and very dangerous to israel. He apparently enjoys that.

boco “running out of ammo”..good one!

Kid, I do laugh at the “trump has no experience” memes;….Obama had nearly ZERO…what, state senator for 2 years and almost no bills , or NONE? Can’t remember which.

    FB….le plus grand, c’est vrai.

  7. Imp says:

“Congressional holds are generally respected by the executive branch but …”

Big But…he had his pen and phone. He never reached out to Congress as he had utter contempt for them. And like little children they never challenged their new god.

  8. Imp says:

And I have to add that I do believe that the godless liberals had their second coming…while the rest of us are waiting for the real one. He did claim to heal the sick and part the waves, didn’t he?

  9. “what, state senator for 2 years and almost no bills , or NONE?”
Didn’t even vote half the time, or “Present”.

  10. Kid says:

Ed, the way I understand it he only voted ‘present’.

  11. Baysider says:

More classless Chicago thuggery. Agree with FB.

  12. Imp says:

Speaking of chi-congo thuggery…is well on it’s way surpassing last years shootings and killings.

Have been blocked from my computer ALL DAY…just by accident I shut it down and opened AGAIN and VOILA! I’m back in business
hAVE 12 here for dinner tonight….will be on much later and read your comments.

    XXX Z

  14. Good luck with dinner. This is just another example of BHO and his utter contempt for the Constitution. He did this going out the door because he’s a gutless punk. He’s never had the stomach for negotiation or fighting for what he believes in face to face. He did and ran out the door like little kids who put a bag of dog poop on the front door step and set it on fire and run away. He’ll be all big and bold while in his shadow government bunker with his syncophants (his pronunciation) in the news media as he engages in a series of drive bys. What a punk.

  15. geeez2014 says:

I spoke too soon….am being frozen out now…every few minutes…damn…
hope to see you all tomorrow 😦

  16. Kid says:

    All the rain Z?

  17. geeez2014 says:

No, it was fine the worst day of rain! But, hadn’t been with less rain.
ZERO rain today. 😦 It’s working again now…it’s just a typical thing that happens about every two weeks. Darn

  18. Bob says:

I just hope that the Palestinian trick is the last one he has pulled. It is worth a LOT to be rid of Obama.

One thing I must caution folks about is this idea that infrastructure spending is a great big job machine, and will have lasting economic effects. I don’t believe that’s the case. If you are going to resurface/rebuild roads and bridges, all you are doing is buying a lot of steel and concrete, and creating a bunch of temporary construction jobs.

If you are building needed NEW roads and bridges, there will be NEW businesses and housing, which does create longer lasting benefits. With infrastructure spending, the effects will be spotty at best. At least, that’s my opinion.

The biggest kick to the economy will be the lowering of business taxes. That alone has the possibility of creating millions of jobs.

  19. Kid says:

Bob, Agreed. As I’ve talked to small business owners, it is taxes and regualtions that have killed them.

  20. geeez2014 says:

But Bob, the stuff will be resurfaced, rebuilt….safer. I don’t see the down side but I’m eager to hear more about why you feel that way. It’s not a very Republican thing, it’s rather like Roosevelt’s CCC and WPA, etc etc, but I think that ‘getting to work’ helped a lot after the depression..?
People create steel..jobs. People install the steel..jobs. they get paid, they get training…their towns get more in taxes because the workers spend…….so then what? Where’s the end, the bad side of that?

Kid, how’s that relate to infrastructure? I do agree with you; from what we hear more small businesses are closing than opening. not good.

  21. bunkerville says:

Just a reminder of why we are thankful that this criminal has exited stage left.

  22. Bob says:

When you resurface a road, you are not creating an atmosphere for new businesses to be created. The steel and concrete will be bought from existing companies, and the contractors for the most part are existing. New construction jobs will be required, but these are jobs people lost eight years ago, and are by nature temporary. That resurfaced road or bridge will not carry that many NEW customers, mostly those who have been using those roads for a long time. So, NEW businesses will not necessarily be created.

Steel, concrete company, and construction jobs will be created, but they will last only so long as the projects last. To continue the boomlet in jobs, NEW companies have to be created, and that’s where regulations and tax structures come in. Redoing old roads will not do the trick.

Yes, there will be lots of temporary constructions jobs created, but the supplier industry jobs longevity depend on the economy actually growing with NEW businesses being created along with new construction. I don’t think it is a foregone conclusion that rebuilding infrastructure is what people expect. After all, look the failure of Obama’s almost Trillion$ stimulus and infrastructure program.

    But, that’s another story.

  23. bunkerville says:

Trump just put a stop to it.

  24. Imp says:

@Bob…Here comes an unexpected downside in the energy markets:

Robots Are Taking Over Oil Rigs

“The robot on an oil drillship in the Gulf of Mexico made it easier for Mark Rodgers to do his job stringing together heavy, dirty pipes. It could also be a reason he’s not working there today.

The Iron Roughneck, made by National Oilwell Varco Inc., automates the repetitive and dangerous task of connecting hundreds of segments of drill pipe as they’re shoved through miles of ocean water and oil-bearing rock. The machine has also cut to two from three the need for roustabouts, estimates Rodgers, who took a job repairing appliances after being laid off from Transocean Ltd.

    Uh Oh…..watch out President Trump.

  25. geeez2014 says:

Bob, I don’t totally agree with you..>Safety is a biproduct of redoing things correctly, if nothing else…maybe not an economic boon, but something.
Also, I think it is beneficial to fix things, training new people on how….and that industriousness begets industriousness. We need WORK….
But I totally respect and understand your points….

Kid…ROBOTS are taking over EVERYWHERE….I don’t know , frankly, what people will be really GOOD for in 20 years….our cars are going to drive us (I will NEVER EVER have a driverless car, by the way), robots are doing so much…I can’t stand SIRI (however you spell ‘her’ name), I see now that there are things that stand on your counter and turn music on or defrost the freezer!!
I can’t stand it. People will be just…useless. Horrifying. People need physical WORK, to THINK…instead they’re downstairs in the gym at their office on a treadmill….and I think that treadmill metaphor’s a good one……….round and round , just going NO freakin’ WHERE.

My today’s post finally posted….I’d written the incorrect date, late after having had 14 friends here…SUCH a great night and dishes done BY ME in 20 minutes….Can’t wait to downstairs and find my clean kitchen, pots and serving bowls only having to be put away! HURRAH!

  26. Kid says:

Z, Japan is frantically working on sex robots now too… Anyway, they’re working on AI robots that can build other AI robots. That should take care of the people problem.

I’d never have a self-driving car, but I wish most people in Cincinnati would get one.

SIRI is just a personal assistant. I like her. Mine has a sexy british accent.

I would never have anything in the house connected to the internet outside of computers and the cell phone.

  27. Imp says:

@Kid…I like her too…..she’s smart…doesn’t require sleep food or maintenance. Yet I take her out everywhere I go. And she has some great info on places toast when I ask her for recommendations.

  28. Imp says:

*****places to eat…dman spell check! lol

  29. Mal says:

Well,, we’re finally rid of the guy now. I’m surprised he didn’t do even MORE damage before leaving. What a mess he has left for Trump! I have confidence he Trump will handle it…..and MORE.

  30. Kid says:

Mal, Get with the program sir. This is ALL Bush’s fault !

  31. Kid says:

@IMP, But yea, you live in a place where there are good places to eat.
