Wall to Wall……….similarities?

DID YOU SEE THIS?      It actually made me laugh.

How many of you see any similarity between the Iron Curtain “Wall” in Berlin, and “The Wall” Trump wants to build?   I don’t mean physical similarities but similarities in the whole geopolitical truths behind both….are they the SAME to YOU?

Let’s talk about it.  It intrigued me.

AND…OFF TOPIC, but important;  See this headline?  Designer of Melania Trump’s Inauguration Gown Shocked by ‘Consequences’

It accompanied this link: https://www.yahoo.com/gma/designer-melania-trumps-inauguration-gown-shocked-consequences-154413956–abc-news-celebrities.html

I post it here because, from reading the link, you’d THINK that the designer who did work with Melania suffered, right?  We know many designers boycotted her.  Well, the truth is he’s besieged by business!  THAT’s the truth in the article, but most people only read the headlines….THAT is how badly we’re being LIED TO.

ANOTHER THING...AFTER (I said AFTER!) you comment on my post, if you haven’t gone to Kid’s blog since Thursday, you must go there to see THE most fabulous, clever, hilarious POST!!!!  You will NOT be sorry!  (AFTER you comment here … heh!)

  1. fredd says:

Completely opposite intentions, the Berlin Wall and Donald’s Wall. One keeps folks in, the other keeps folks out.

  2. jerrydablade says:

What Fredd said (I’m saying that a lot 🙂 And Donald’s wall will have a big, beautiful door. And we won’t shoot wall jumpers first and ask questions later. In fact, it would only be like the Berlin Wall if Mexico paid for it, or something.

  3. How many of you see any similarity between the Iron Curtain “Wall” in Berlin, and “The Wall” Trump wants to build?

    The motivations differ(ed).

BTW, what does Mexico do on her own southern border?

  4. geeez2014 says:

Thanks, everyone; I was stunned that anybody’d see a similarity other than it’s a wall. Seemed SO dishonest, misleading, typically “get Trump to look worse” ….We must remember that most European journalists just take OUR articles, translate them, and pawn it off as their own. Not sure if their editors are that uninformed or it’s just an accepted practice. ALL LIB.
Plus, they barely have conservative media there…They DO, but it’s mocked, too.
In Germany, people are kind of secretly uniting thru blogs (believe me) but they’ll be called NAZIS by the world’s media just for the attempt to save their beautiful country…wait for it. it’s actually always happened every time they’ve tried to keep refugees out or done any slightest thing that’s PRO GERMANY.
And, of course, all countries welcome LEGAL immigrants…..that’s another misnomer…the Left hears “extreme vetting” and they’re all about XENOPHOBIA, KEEPING THE NEEDY OUT, etc…..it’s astonishing, the kind of world journalists want to strip their children of….the kind of world they want to put their poor children into, worlds that won’t even KNOW the beauties of the French, German, American, Swedish, etc…cultures their ancestors created and flourished in.

I AM FIRST AND SECOND GENERATION and I’m so glad I did get to live through maybe the last generation where my legal ancestors adored America, felt grateful to be here, raise their kids here, thrived here……..depending on the gov’t to make sure others, too, were vetted and then accepted. Heck, my parents helped relatives come in and had to show they could afford to support them should they not get jobs! What a different world.

  5. geeez2014 says:

AOW…I’ve looked into Mexico’s southern border…..I was told there’s a wall there….but I’m not sure there is. There are only ‘sections of fence’…the pictures we see are sometimes an Israeli wall, not Mexican. That’s a lie we’ve bought into to back our “MEXICO HAS A WALL TO KEEP GUATEMALANS OUT” wish. Not true.

HOWEVER, folks, when Googling I discovered that Mexicans WANT a wall down there…and I’m thinking maybe Trump’s doing some deal that would include THAT wall along with OUR wall…..very very VERY clever! HA!
My friends at GeeeZ, I DO believe I might have found the carrot Trump’s offering in order to get OUR wall………..will we help them financially? Will we use the same companies to build, thereby lowering the price? Will we provide the plans, the labor? (well, not labor…!!!)

  6. Mrs Grundy says:

Trump is a nationalist, not a globalist. A nationalist protects his nation’s people from unfair competition from abroad, especially in the labour market. We don’t need neoliberal globalism once it reaches a level which destroys established economies. Our market is more than large enough to sustain and grow America’s economy. The world needs access to OUR markets. We don’t need theirs (annual US trade deficit $500B+). And from now on, the world will pay the USA for access to our markets through tariffs on Imports.

  7. Mal says:

Fredd’s comment is spot on. I hadn’t thought of it that way, but its true. As for Mexico saying it won’t be paying for the wall, they have begun already when they lost the revenue from Carrier A/C and Ford, and that’s just the beginning. It never was meant as being a check made out to us. The “payments” will be continuing, too, I’m sure.

  8. There are no similarities of course. Anyone who would proffer such is either a fool….or pursuing an agenda. That said, I wish we were going to be spending the billions on manpower, sensors and surveillance…..rather than obsolete construction.

  9. Kid says:

Just another attack from the mentally diseased left. Expect millions more.

  10. Imp says:

Athens had walls that kept the Spartans at bay for decades. China had a wall that kept the Mongols at bay for over a century. Virtually every major city in pre-industrial Europe had walls that kept cities safe for years from invaders. History has shown that walls work.

““President Trump is right. I built a wall along Israel’s southern border. It stopped all illegal immigration,” Netanyahu wrote on Twitter. “Great success. Great idea.”

Earlier this week, Trump used the Israeli wall as an example of why he wanted to build a similar wall for the US.

“A wall protects. All you have to do is ask Israel,” Trump said during an interview with Sean Hannity this week. “They were having a total disaster coming across, and they had a wall. It’s 99.9 percent stoppage.” HT BB.

The exception is the brick walls in the fawning, hand wringing, silly & absurdly delusional demrats and libturds brains.

  11. Imp says:

And Fredd….our wall doesn’t keep us in. My former East German neighbors, born in 1968 know all about that too. We have some fascinating dinner conversations about their life in the old GDR. Another country that was a prison and used the word…”Democratic” as a title.

  12. Baysider says:

The wall? The Berlin mayor is pathetic. Obviously a leftie. He knows damn well the Berlin wall divided a city, not fenced off troublesome ports of entry into the country. In contrast, look how well it worked in Israel. If Hillary Clinton can have a wall around her home, and Barack Obama can have a wall around his home, why can’t America have a wall around its home?

And grrr to these headlines. SInce most of us don’t read past the headline, that makes the editors that write them far more influential than the story writer. Hugh Hewitt answered Katie Curic’s question about “what will Congress do if the Democrats regain control in 2018?” with they’ll impeach Trump. They’ve already written up the bill and are waiting for their chance.” The HEADLINE? Hugh Hewitt Predicts Trump Impeachment.

  13. geeez2014 says:

Imp’s right..it’s keeping the Mexicans IN THEIR country…and OUT of ours….not US. And yes, Imp, the GDR folks know that story all too well. Imagine the Berlin mayor not understanding enough to have said this wall is similar to OURS? It’s agenda, it’s buying into the American lib media. Mentioning Israel is hilarious if Trump thinks he’d win more OVER to the idea now…there are so many liberal Israel haters today, aren’t there.
    But he’s 100% right.

CI, sometimes one has to spend a lot of money to send a message; this wall is nothing any American truly wants on its landscape, I don’t believe, but short of some genius offering a plan showing how many many millions CAN be spent simply on effective manpower, surveillance and sensors, we need the visible of A WALL, sadly.

Mrs. Grundy; I think a LOT of Americans believe China’s got it all OVER us because of all the export TO US, look at all your clothing labels…much of it’s MADE IN CHINA, and so much more….BUT, plenty economists agree with you, that they’re NOT in that great shape, that they need US to buy or they’re screwed.
Maybe when WE start implementing MADE IN AMERICA again, under this president (hopefully), we can cut China adrift …..

One of the very funniest moments I’ve experienced with my Chinese student who lives here was when he’d ordered thru Amazon some very high-tech lamp…..it finally arrived and he was so excited; he started putting it together and realized parts were missing and other parts didn’t fit together as demonstrated in the directions. He was right. He asked me to come check and help and it was hopeless without the missing parts and not expensive enough to pursue replacement…(plus, just TRY that on Amazon!…they usually send a new one and tel you to keep the old one)..ANYWAY, I noticed it was MADE IN CHINA (as was HE!) and said so “Look, Chris!! It’s MADE IN CHINA…what did you EXPECT?!” He startled, looked surprised, then BURST into laughter with me 🙂

  14. geeez2014 says:

BAYSIDER! I saw those headlines, too! About TRUMP being IMPEACHED! Cracked me UP!!
You have insight into the German situation because of your tenant AND you’re so damned SMART, to boot!…wasn’t this AMAZING? We just can’t underestimate the effect of our leftwing media on Germans. I saw big name German journalists simply translate and print in Germany when I lived there…I often wonder if the editors who pay the big bucks even know they’re paying for translation, not a well thought-out article by a German!?
The Herald Tribune, sort of ‘the’ English-speaking newspaper sold in kiosks around Paris was SO liberal, too. David Ignatius (an Armenian, as a matter of fact) was either editor or big contributor to that and I so resented it even then, before I had become so politically savvy….I recognized it THEN. but I had to buy it because heck, it had Calvin and Hobbs, and it had THE NY TIMES CROSSWORD PUZZLE for my respites in French Cafes, with an occasional cigarette and a French delish coffee and Paris walking by the windows….heaven!

  15. Kid says:

PS, the wall will disuade many central Americans from even making the trip.

I also head 35 ? billion, close if that’s not the number, gets shipped back to Mexico by illegals here. We should put a fee on sending cash back to Mexico.

  16. …sometimes one has to spend a lot of money to send a message…

I’m concerned about effectiveness , not narrative. The modus operandi of the Left is optics.

  17. Imp says:

@Kid..yea…or ding Western Union too with a xfer fee.

  18. geeez2014 says:

CI… As I said, this isn’t just narrative…a wall is a strong symbol that people will come in legally..that’s it. Trust me, I’d much rather those billions be spent on better, more effective sensors, surveillance, etc., but it won’t.
Maybe it’s time we fought with optics, too.

Kid, yes, for YEARS, Central Americans have worked here…and sent their untaxed earnings “home”…that’s just a fact. -no qualms; they’re playing us and Trump’s finally doing something about it.

BY THE WAY, FOLKS: You’re probably all hearing that some people from those ‘extreme vetted’ countries have been stopped at airports! WHAT DID ANYBODY EXPECT! ?? We must tell the country that an Exec. Action matters even if Obama didn’t sign it…even if Trump DID.
One guy, a muslim who’s worked for us for years and has a good VISA, is a Trump supporter and isn’t bitter at all, I think his name is Derwish? BUT, the lawyers got him lickered up and they sued for him. I’m glad he’s out.
This is what VETTING is, lefties….we stop and ASK and make SURE THEN we release, get it? This “NO MUSLIMS” crap is just that; Muslims who can prove they’re safe are allowed.
Gad, I wish we had Israel/El Al’s protocols. I wish we COULD have their protocol.

I’ll never quite understand why so many Americans are happy to put ourselves in danger.
I know many of you don’t agree with me, but most Muslims do NOT mean us harm……still, I myself would rather be safe than sorry.

I was thinking again this morning how, had Muslims marched together against radical islam’s terrorism…starting on 9/12/01, we’d be in a much different place today. I SO WISH THEY HAD.

  19. geeez2014 says:

Imp; that’s what I heard happens around here….Western Union sends it…

  20. geeez2014 says:

ANOTHER QUESTION: Why question Trump’s motivation for checking into fraudulent voting in this country? Yes, he’s thin skinned and said he’d have won the popular vote had fraud not occurred, but how about the fact that it DID occur? As Frum just said on FOX, Obamacare probably wouldn’t have passed had Al Franken’s election been legal…remember it was shown later that illegals had voted and pushed him over the top; they needed his vote, it was a hair close vote for the ACA and he could have been THE VOTE….Frum made a good point for that.

“During the controversy a conservative group called Minnesota Majority began to look into claims of voter fraud. Comparing criminal records with voting rolls, the group identified 1,099 felons — all ineligible to vote — who had voted in the Franken-Coleman race.”
It’s said that about 90% of that number of felons voted for Franken over Coleman.

  21. geeez2014 says:

“Today is not the time to erect walls between nations. They have forgotten that the Berlin wall fell years ago,” Rouhani said in a speech carried live on Iranian state television.”

Looks like Iran’s bigwig is just as dumb as Berlin’s mayor?

Iran’s now banning Americans from going to Iran… man, I’m going to lose money canceling my airline tickets !!

  22. I have to wonder if it’s passed through Trump’s mind, that the Republican majority Secretaries of States, apparently do not agree with his allegation….at least insofar as his wild numbers. There have been plenty of electoral studies, but there has never been evidence of voter fraud on the scale he believes.

  23. I’m not savvy on embedding pictures into comments, but for a little wall levity…..

  24. geeez2014 says:

CI…I don’t think the scale matters. Sec of States will never admit they had voting fraud in their states…there have been a few electoral studies and many HAVE shown problems.
The scale shouldn’t matter at all. But yes, his suggestion that 4 million voted fraudulently is probably wrong.

I think that link’s picture is not ‘levity’ at all, no offense…that’s awful!!! I can’t help to not think of illegals but our own border patrol and other law enforcement who now lie dead due to Fast and Furious and cartels, you know? I so wish the truth of F&F had been exposed to Americans.

  25. A guy called into the station today to talk to us and suggested a GoFundMe for the wall with Mexico.

  26. California had 800,000+ illegals apply for drivers licenses. Think they don’t vote?

  27. geeez2014 says:

I’m no WND fan but I’ve heard much of this myself and thought I’d post it here.

This year, I saw at least 20 people out of the 80 at my voting precinct vote PROVISIONAL BALLOT. Check this link out…maybe you can find in it somewhere (I hope one of you CAN!) how people are prohibited by going from precinct to precinct saying “I moved so I am not on your list, but can I vote?” “Sure, here’s a provisional ballot”…

  28. The scale of voter fraud matters to me, when federal dollars are going to be spent investigating it. Studies indeed have shown problems, but they’ve largely been ineptitude or technological malfeasance regarding voter rolls and eligibility. Update and standardize voting machines, mandate showing identification to vote, and ensure that States carry out the proper oversight leading up to elections; and the problem largely goes away.

If the States don’t have evidence of widespread fraud…..then it shouldn’t be a federal priority.

  29. Kid says:

    Ed, GoFundMe. That IS brilliant.

I don’t think anyone knows the level of fraudulent voting, least of all me, so I make no cliam but in one of the obama elsctions, some district ine Philly hass 125% turnout and all votes were for the dummy in chief.

  30. Kid says:

Voter ID. If they can get an EBT card, they can get a picture ID card. Fix the Supreme Court, and we’ll fix the voter ID problem.

  31. geeez2014 says:

EDDDDDDDD! I LOVE THAT IDEA…GoFunD THE WALL!” That guy must start a campaign! HIlarious.

Kid, someone told my sister that her 85 mother couldn’t get an ID card because she’d never changed her name when she married. There is no lower level to stupid. If you want something you can get it…I googled and found her answer to getting one.

IN Europe, people have AN ID CARD….you can vote ONCE and the card’s DEAD from voting again. But REPUBLICANS and Libertarians just hate the ID CARD idea..”BIG BROTHER”…as if we aren’t typing into BIG BROTHER right now as we comment???

Things change; time to grow up and get every Americans AN ID CARD. and vote ON ONE DAY as they do in Europe and ON A WEEKEND SO EVERYONE CAN VOTE. And STOP PROVISIonAL BALLOTS, the best legal fraud you can get. damn them.

CI, I can’t think of anything more deserving of high scrutiny, costly or not, than legal voting in America. With all the stories most of us have heard, and provisional ballot use I alone have witnessed being so widespread, I will NEVER feel that our elections are totally legal again..

  32. Imp says:

“Muslims who can prove they’re safe are allowed.”

And how do we do that knowing that they’re allowed to lie as long as it furthers Islame.

  33. Imp says:

And yes…if they had that Million Muslim March back then…it would be a different story. But not one did. I think they’re all lTrojan horses anyway. IMHO.

  34. geeez2014 says:

Imp; I’m well aware how you feel and can’t blame you for feeling that way.
I just heard Derwish saying he was a Trump fan and didn’t like being stopped but understood….he’s just glad they finally let him free. This attitude probably ticked the ACLU off. I like that.
Extreme vetting has to be overly extreme to keep us safe. Some won’t make it. FINE.
Trump’s right…this is a different administration and vetting is going to be tougher.

  35. geeez2014 says:

Why is it only THREE MONTHS??

    This. +1

How does one “prove” their “safe”?

  37. Imp says:

The libs are totally losing their minds…..will they sponsor a possible terrorist? The AG’s of each sate have no standing….the POTUS has the last word on immigration and the country’s security.

  38. geeez2014 says:

Even FOX is suggesting that Darwish (Darvish?)’s release was due to the ACLU lawsuit…I don’t think so. How many ‘lawsuits’ get answered in 30 minutes?; I think he passed his vetting due to his good VISA and what he’s done for America….
Please tell me if I’m wrong; I’m happy to take note.

  39. geeez2014 says:

CI…let them ALL in…..there’s no way to prove they’re safe, so SCREW IT…Right? Just open the doors, Southern and European…let ’em ALL IN…..who cares?

Sadly, I do. And so do many others. So easy to say “how does one prove they’re safe”…do you really think anybody has the answer to that?
As Imp said THEY COULD LIE. EL Al has it MADE in Israel; they have a very low …like NONE…incident of terrorism on planes or at airports and they’re higher on that terror list than WE are, or have been…by (dare I say?) muslims. If El Al was also in charge of their physical borders, I daresay they’d have less Palestinian missiles lobbed every day into Israel, too.

Ya, VERY easy to say HOW DO THEY PROVE THEY”RE SAFE? that’s no reason to give up.

You must have some answers, you can’t be of the mind they’re unverifiable so let them in….try to describe what YOU would do about those who definitely want to harm our country.

Maybe I’m silly…I say WE come first and THEY can jump thru hoops to prove they’d be loyal to keeping our country safe.

  40. Wow. You could have just said that you had no idea. But YOU made the statement, not me. I’m in for of reducing immigration to levels even Trump likely hasn’t considered.

You’re absolutely correct…they can lie [just as I’ve argued when Trump proffered his asinine Muslim ban during the campaign]. So if we agree on that point, why state that they should prove that they’re safe?

  41. Vetting currently consists [generally] of personal interviews, travel history [through passport records] and law enforcement checks, conducted via international agreements with other nations and organizations such as Interpol. Where I’m curious regarding Trumps position on vetting, is….what is he proposing to add? I concur that the Israeli model [which adds behavior profiling to the list above] is better…but Trump hasn’t specified that this would be a part of his executive action.

  42. Imp says:

Wow..so now we’re “mean spirited” because we want to be safe and vet who comes into the country? Since when are we a sanctuary country for everyone on the planet?

  43. His extreme vetting might include waterboarding.

  44. His extreme vetting might include waterboarding.

Heh…that would certainly get immigration numbers down to where I’d like them…..

  45. Imp says:

  46. Mal says:

  47. geeez2014 says:

CI, you’re the one who asked how to vet them; which is the typical liberal mantra. Not me. So, yes, who doesn’t realize they can lie? But I’d have thought our intel has ways of showing they’re lying…the things you described are effecctive….
El Al has highly trained people who ‘can tell,’ How, I don’t know…but they sure seem to. Very highly trained. Trouble here is we have so many TSA, who aren’t well trained, from what we hear…people who just want their paycheck and to go home. Many not born here. In Israel, people are concerned for their tiny country and their families.

I believe we need a five year ban on ALL immigration.

Mal…you made me laugh out loud! Yes, offer a Muslim a plate of Pork! EXCEPT saying “I don’t eat pork” doesn’t make them evil, it only makes them a Muslim!!

  48. geeez2014 says:

Now they’re saying “Well, gee, we’re afraid people might be unhappy if we change Obamacare…We don’t know quite how to fix it!” They didn’t THINK about that when they’d been hammering about getting a president who’d repeal it? My GOSH.

  49. …which is the typical liberal mantra. Not me.

Asking for clarification of statement is “liberal mantra?” Interesting.

I believe we need a five year ban on ALL immigration.

    Agree with this completely.

  50. Kid says:

My position is close all the mosques, declare islam a cult without religious perks in America. For starters. People walk around bears in Yosemite right? Every once in a while a bear kills someone. Why walk around bears. Course I don’t like swimming in the ocean much either with 8 foot plus long fish with lots of sharp teeth. Call me a puss if you want, I call it reasoned thinking.

Z, Well obamacare has lots of time bombs in it for 2017 and 2018 – sabotage by the dems is SOP. President Trump has said, we could let all those pre-defined implementations come to pass and make life really suck for Americans or we can fix it now and move on. If they don’t replace obamacare with something sensible (which is entirely possible), they’re screwed until the end of time. In fact, if they don’t deliver on – say 80% of Trump’s campaign promises – they (and we) are screwed until the end of time. Those invisible Trump voters who magically showed up in Nov 2016 won’t be found anywhere but on their couch in 2020.

Immigration? I’m of the same view as President Trump – Only bring people in who are good for America. In Cincy for example, we are Flush with Russians and others because P&G is bringing them in as cheap labor H1-B Visas. Screw P&G. Hire Americans and pay them, or how about we boycott P&B products. This has all gotten to the level of warfare, but it’s too damn bad, 85% of the population doesn’t have a clue.

We need American men making good wages, so if they have a family the woman can stay and support the children – in most cases. If you’re going to have kids, commit to supporting them. If you want to be a career woman, don’t have kids unless you have some other great support system. Aunt’s Uncles. Not daycare centers.

We need manufacturing jobs back so the low income folks have somewhere to work so they’re not on the street being gangbangers. Cut off welfare for able-bodied individuals, and watch how fast they’ll want to move to an environment where they get a paycheck.

Trump has all the right ideas, it is just that America has gone so far down the rabbit hole, that now we have people marching down the street dressed like women’s genitals without the slightest clue of why they are doing that. And black folks who hate all white people instead of demanding a higher standard and punishment for bad cops.

    For starters.

    This place is screwed up.

  51. geeez2014 says:

Kid, do you think Trump had taken much time in his election promises or he was shooting off the hip, reacting to the other Rep candidates, countering their policies, and now’s STUCK with his ‘decisions’ that he hadn’t really thought out?
I can’t imagine Priebus could have let him do that but Ryan’s digging in his feet on some of Trump and Priebus’ choices.
Heck, any of US could have won the presidency with the promises Trump’s made…with no way to PAY for those promises. Thoughts?

Yes, this place is WAY screwed up and our kids are so stupid they just add to it and drink the Koolaid.

  52. Kid says:

Z, Trump only seems radical because of how far left and anti-American we’ve gone.
If you watch old videos of Trump being interviewed by folks like Oprah (comes to mind) he hasn’t changed his tune for decades. These actionable items of his were not just made up yesterday.

We had a president who pardoned someone (grossly mischaracterized as a whisteblower) who released millions of documents that got Americans killed as well as people in conflict areas that were helping America as translators and informants. We have a former Secy of State who got an Ambassador (and 3 other Americans) killed at Bengazi because she needed to have them killed because of her and obama’s gun running stuff in Libya, and where she as SoS Sold Influence to foreign countries and those $ were put into the clinton foundation, tax free, un tracable. The clinton foundation has been disolved at the moment almost of her losing the election. Proof positive that the foundation only existed to sell political influence to anyone and everyone.

Consequences for these scumbag POS’s ? Nada.

We’ve gone so far off the rails, we need actions that will shock most people to get anywhere near back to where we belong.

  53. What Kid said….

  54. geeez2014 says:

Kid, you know, I think you’re right about why Trump seems radical. What the H is radical about protecting our country? What’s radical about bringing jobs back? What’s radical about bringing back our military and ending having our taxes pay for the contraception or abortions of others?
    These are RADICAL! gad
