9th Circuit and Trump

I hoped I was wrong, but the 9th Circuit, which is hearing Trump’s appeal regarding the Muslim vetting, is the most liberal circuit going….I kept thinking “that’s impossible…why that circuit?”

Can someone explain this to me?  Do cases get PICKED by those bringing suit?  Did Trump PICK this 9th Circuit or do you get assigned “the next available circuit judge?”

He can’t win with the 9th?  Why’s anybody think he can?

Please explain.  ALSO:

Can anybody explain how a football player’s feet can not hit the end zone even for a split second and he still gets the two point conversion?  I watched the replays so closely and figure there must be some rule I don’t know!

Thanks!

I’m not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, but I think it’s is based on where the plaintiff files the suit. In this case, I think that was Seattle, ergo 9th Circuit.

Kid is right. The ball is the thing to watch. The body only if he steps out of bounds or a limb touches the ground, like his knee. We’ve seen where the ball carriers body goes out of bounds while he stretches the ball over the goal INSIDE the line, scoring the TD.
(31 unanswered points. I still can’t believe it!)

This is the next action planned i had mentioned:
An official site for the event calling for a “24-hour occupation of public space in protest of the Trump administration’s refusal to Honor the Constitution of the United States of America,” was created. The strike also has a social media presence with a Facebook event that has 23,000 interested and 14,000 committed to attending. The strike is thus far tentatively scheduled for February 17 — the Friday before President’s Day — that may have originated with with writer David Simon, creator of The Wire. He tweeted about the idea last Saturday, two days before Prose’s piece appeared in The Guardian, reports SFist .http://f17strike.com/

We sure miss you, but we just might have another of your ilk on board now.

  8. Just to reinforce, the ball has to break the plane of the goal line, without any portion of the players body touching the ground, excepting the feet. Knee touches before ball breaks the plane…player is ‘Down’.

CI…the PLANE of the goal line….I see. Thanks….
Kid and Mal, good information, too…..I get it now.

Mal, yes, today is Reagan’s birthday…..I wish he was 60 again and ready to RUN! 🙂

Juvat…Based on the plaintiff location…I see. Yes, 9th Circuit is West Coast, more’s the pity.

Bunkerville “Trump administration’s refusal to Honor the Constitution of the United States of America,” This, by people who don’t have a CLUE of what’s in the Constitution.

@Mal..IMO I say the game was rigged and fixed big ( Yuge ) time. The way it looked to me was all the Falcon players were paid off by Brady ( Net worth +198 million ) to throw the game and him into the history books. I thought I was watching a rerun of Rocky 3!

IMP, years ago when I was watching football, I remeber a game where the Buffalo Bills were down just shy of 4 touchdowns with 5 minutes to go. They did 3 or 4 on side kicks and came back to win the game. You remember that one? Best game I’d ever seen. 20+ years ago.

    Shortly after I lost interest.

Kid, I believe joy and excitement, success, also drive events in the world and that’s what drove the Super Bowl.
Did you think the Buffalo game was rigged?
    Sounds like it was FABULOUS!

It was an exciting game for those still addicted to sports.

Rigged? I did not think so at the time, but that was a long time ago, where today I believe much IS rigged – so don’t know about that one and don’t care to speculate.

Kid, well said…..accomplishment, yes. I just can’t imagine the utter joy Brady obviously felt to have won for his very sick mother if he’d cheated. My brain can’t work that way. Happily.
Mr. Z completely went off the Grand Prix bicycling because of the drugging and could barely watch Olympics anymore…and he’d been a HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE fan and was quite a good athlete but felt like you did….rigging didn’t work for him.

Z, I’m completely off of the Spooooortsssss and have been for a long time, and I can’t imagine anything more boring than the olympics. Mind numbing stuff there. I’d rather watch drunken rednecks trying to play golf.

Then in a 4-4 SCOTUS tie, the ban is “banished” as the 9th circuit decision WILL stand.

Imp & Mr. B. I don’t believe even Brady has enough money to have them throw the game. The Falcons are all wealthy pros, too. We’ve seen before how the emotions of games quickly switch, usually the result of one successful play or score. But I agree it sure looks fishy sometimes, doesn’t it?
