The man who tried to kill soldiers at the Louvre, carrying a machete and yelling “Alahu Akhbar!” is said by his father to be a peaceful man with no terrorist leanings.
HERE is an article about it, one which omits the fact that all onlookers said he did yell “God is Good” in Arabic as he attacked.
What caught my attention is the fact that the father asks “DOES HE LOOK LIKE A TERRORIST!?” If that isn’t a telling comment, I don’t know what is.
He probably doesn’t LOOK like a terrorist, but another news article says ““His tweets show a radicalized person. He supports the Daesh and other extremists in Syria,” said the official, using the Arabic acronym for the Islamic State group.”
I am hoping more news reports that his father says “He doesn’t look like a terrorist” because I think that’s the point ALL of us have been making about keeping Muslims OUT of America until they’re vetted WELL, etc….
I think we can all say ..”Wait! He loves his wife and son and his parents, he works in a law firm, he’s a very nice guy but he tried to kill soldiers with a machete and yelled “God is Great” in Arabic…but he doesn’t LOOK LIKE A TERRORIST?” AND I think we can all say “I REST MY CASE.”

You’re right. The entire article never mentions his izlamofascist rage chant. He kinda looks like a potential terrorist to me. But so does his father… and so does Bruce Springstein for that matter, wearing that keffiyeh lately. I’m in favor of waterboarding them both to see what they might know. Any way, that IS the point that you can’t always tell a terrorist by looks. Give this time. I’m sure Robert Reich will blame those right-wingers for the sporadic machette attacks.
