In the last year, Trump’s used Paul Manafort, Corey Lowendowski and Chris Christie as kinds of consultants to his campaign. Manafort and Lowendowski were probably on payroll, Christie was probably not, I don’t know. But, I was thinking; I saw Christie speaking very favorably about Trump the other day; I saw Manafort raving about him at the Inaugural Ball, and Lowendowski’s on various news shows speaking very highly of Trump. Christie says he didn’t take a job with this administration because none of the jobs he was offered beat that of governor, he didn’t sound the least bit bitter.
Do you think they’re just covering themselves so they look good and remain eligible to Trump or other campaigns, or DO YOU THINK THIS CONTINUING LOYALTY SPEAKS WELL FOR TRUMP AND HOW HE MAY SEVER FORMAL TIES, EVEN REPLACING THEM WITH BETTER CONSULTANTS, BUT HE DOES IT IN WAYS THEY REMAIN FANS OF HIS, WHICH I THINK SAYS A LOT ABOUT HIM.
I’m not sure where Rudy Giuliani, who has got no appointment at all stands in all this!
Thoughts? Do you think they’re still loyal to Trump because he inspires that kind of loyalty or is it all self-interest? And what about ol’ Rudy?

Guliani, like Christie, was offered positions he did not want.
They’re both grown men.
Neither is unemployed.

Both.
And Giuliani’s “cybersecurity firm” is probably raking in big bucks as the President’s “informal” advisor on cybersecurity.

I don’t know their hearts, of course, but Giuliani seems sincere whenever he speaks. As for Christie, I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him. Lowendowski I don’t know about him at all.

Except for Trump, who is getting better every day at all things political, these other guys are politicians at heart. And a talented politician never burns bridges, unless your name rhymes with Don McClain. (I am speaking of John McCain for those of you like me who got a public school education)..

Ed, oh, no…..it looked to most people that Giuliani and Christi were picked over, no doubt about that. To be offered positions one doesn’t feel are good enough couldn’t have felt very good. But they are both not going to worry about their next meal, that’s for sure!
Mrs. G…I hope so. I like Rudy. And, if he can’t keep his mouth shut better than “he told ME it was a MUSLIM BAN” then maybe he’s better running his OWN company :-0)
Sparks…I agree about Christie, that’s for SURE. And I, too, like Rudy…..Corey has a ton of kids so he’s getting money somewhere….he’s been a CNN Consultant since he got canned from the Trump train campaign….he stands up for Trump better than most of the CNN Republican patsies they use there.
fredd, you think T’s getting better? I keep hoping so, then he doesn’t… McCain (funny line about school, sadly) does burn bridges because he doesn’t need that job and probably won’t run again$$$$

Can’t argue with the comments above. Trump seems to be one of those guys who can tell you to go to hell in such a way as to make you look forward to the trip.
Until he died a few years ago of runaway self-indulgence, I had a long-time friend (Navy guy I met in about ’64) who had just about every bad habit imaginable. He was profane, obscene, abrasive, overweight, crude, brutally honest at times but a masterful B-Ser, sexist, racist, and on occasion blasphemous.
But people liked him, sought his company, listened to his abuse, watched him break all the rules, and tolerated his coarse and raunchy persona for the entertainment value it brought with it. He was like a hybrid of Don Rickles and Andrew Dice Clay, but he was basically an honest guy and a good friend who sometimes needed your help and sometimes didn’t smell so good. He also was a particularly good drummer who often played with some well-known groups at various places in California.
Jack was a Navy Chief (E-7), not a superstar but good at his job, and I can see him chewing out a goldbricking or lollygagging sailor for some shortcoming or infraction and at the same time encouraging the kid to do better next time. He just had that charisma, that aura, that made you know he was dressing you down or cutting you off for your own good.
Could be summadat aura in DJT. As for Giuliani, he apparently believes that Trump is exactly what this country needs at this crucial juncture and will back him up for free. Christie . . . ehh, not so much — professional politician is about the nicest thing I can say about him.

Fredd..”Donald Trump has also CHOSE to…” this, from the U of Syracuse Prof FOX likes to bring out to tick Conservatives off….Richard Fowler. He must have gone to public school too.
Betsy DeVos wants people, in the future, to know to say “CHOSEN”….I guess that’s wrong?

I have to agree with what most of you said above about it being both. I mean, why not? Its called covering your a- – and politicians are known for that, right?
I liked Bocopros comment about Trump having the ability to tell you to go to Hell and make you look forward to the trip!
