Both Obama and Hillary have now advised “resistance and persistence” to their Democrat constituents. Now that might not read “GET THAT JERK TRUMP” to you, but it does me. What kind of an ex-president and ex-Sec of State, Senator, First Lady, etc., would promote RESISTANCE when you know that has involved injuries, fires, blocking free speech, etc.? Do they even think twice about how far that could go? Do they care that it could do such damage to our collective psyches, our communities and to our country? Do they even care? HERE is what Hillary’s saying…here is a clip from the link: “The challenges we face as a party and a country are real,” a smiling Clinton said. “So now more than ever, we need to stay engaged in the field and online, reaching out to new voters, young people and everyone who wants a better, stronger, fairer America.””
HERE is Obama telling people in Germany: “I suspect that there’s not a president in our history that hasn’t been subject to these protests,” he answered. “So, I would not advise people who feel strongly or who are concerned about some of the issues that have been raised during the course of the campaign, I wouldn’t advise them to be silent.” Oh, he feels so big and important as an ex president mouthing off in European against our elected president, doesn’t he?
His nastiness continues:
“If we are not serious about facts and what is true and what is not. Particularly in an age of social media when people are getting their information in soundbites and snippets … if we cannot discriminate between serious arguments and propaganda, then we have problems,” he said.
I think some presidents have had protesters…I think Trump’s have been over the top. I admire Obama’s rhetoric; makes him almost sound fair and even-handed……I wish Trump had a tiny bit of that way of speaking, just a tiny bit; saying things that really slam the other side but make it sound like you’re complimenting them…typical Obama.
I can understand Obama and Hillary, staunch Leftwingers, hating Trump and Conservatism; I can’t understand their knowing that Trump was legally elected and at least deserves a chance to win over all Americans. Or, maybe they do?
When I think of the dignity Bush showed even as Obama blamed most everything on him……

We as conservatives didn’t need a former president or failed candidate to tell us to resist the Obama Administration. We knew to do it and we did it.
We held and attended tea party rallies.
We got out the vote to the best of our ability and we blogged and spoke on the radio, often vehemently.
We had lawmakers who vowed to block all of Obama’s proposed legislation.
We just didn’t riot.

They.
Don’t.
Care.
As far as they’re concerned, the ends justifies the means.
The ends they have in mind = the totalitarianism of Progressivism.
They will do or say ANYTHING to make sure that Progressivism overtakes our republic. They are true believers and, at the same time, are determined to hold onto power.

Geezer! So you believe yelling “Lock her up!” in peaceful, large gatherings is close to burnings, destroying buildings, having past presidents encourage potentially dangerous marches in the streets? 🙂
I would not compare what’s going on now with the Tea Party in most aspects. I remember cops saying that, after the Tea Party events in parks, the parks were cleaner than when they got there. Mostly mature adults holding placards and listening to speakers, waving flags. Not much printed profanity, not jumping to conclusions as much as we’re seeing today. Not a great comparison to the possible lawlessness promoted by Obama or Clinton.
AOW: I’d like to see articles by GOP journalists calling for protesting Trump….Please link.
Ed, I watch the protests now and see women wearing cloth uteruses on their heads, holding up “F*** TRUMP”, suggesting they thought of blowing up the WH, and I don’t see a huge similarity to the Tea Party movement. Or how about spreading fear that Trump wants to hurt women, is Anti-Semitic, …points that have never even been suggested?
CNN is STILL mischaracterizing the Trump/Russia connection this morning! Doesn’t matter WHAT Rience Priebus OR the FBI men are saying , CNN KNOWS PRIEBUS TRIED TO “PRESSURE” THE FBI. CONTACTED THE FBI…No, the FBI contacted HIM.
Amazing world we’re living in.

Both of these liberal pinkos (Hillary and Barry) are politicians before anything else. They saw how effective the Tea Party was in opposing Barry and his boneheaded (my word) ways.
They think that this is the way back for their party- just do what the Tea Party did: hold rallies, carry signs, etc. Worked for the Tea Party, right? Except that takes work, and their consituency is not really into work, or at least free work. So to mobilize their own version of the Tea Party, they have to pay people to show up to their riots, uh, er, gatherings.
Lots of crucial differences between the Tea Party movement, and the losers of the last election (pinkos, Marxists, socialists, anarchists, communists, and a bunch of other ‘ists’ that don’t come to mind right now). The Tea Party never burned cars, smashed windows and blasted pepper spray into their opponent’s faces and dumped garbage and filth everywhere they showed up, But Hillary and Barry don’t get the differences.

“Rumana Ahmed is a Muslim. She wears a hijab. And she has been working at the White House since 2011. Under President Obama, she was promoted to work at the National Security Council from the Office of Public Engagement. Since then, she has served as an adviser to President Obama, particularly in how he addressed and considered American Muslims…”:
Wow. “How he addressed and considered American muslims?” He needed a Muslim to tell him how to address and consider Muslims?

BY the way, I never ever approved of LOCK HER UP! I cringed every time I heard it. She probably deserves locking up for several things, but I do not approve of Trump ever having started that…if it was he who actually started it. If he didn’t, he certainly kept the meme going, which I think might have even lost him votes among civil, dignified Republicans. On the other hands, it probably attracted voters, too. It’s no way to run a campaign.
But he did win!

I’ve felt for the officers that are being ordered to allow these commies and their minions to wantonly destroy property. I’ve told my students that they have a right to peacefully protest as one of the five great rights in the First Amendment. However, when protest devolves into destruction of property it becomes criminal. I want them understand that peaceful protest is ok, so long as you have a good idea what you’re protesting, but they have no right whatsoever to destroy property. As I watch these anarchists and commies commit crimes without feeling any pain for their criminality, I remember the good old days when the police were allowed to enforce the laws. And more importantly, we were allowed to defend ourselves.

Z,
Check out this information about Michael Gerson: “The Republican Party must resist Donald Trump above all.”
Granted, Gerson wrote that particular column before Trump became the POTUS. But his recent columns continue to excoriate Trump on a regular basis.
Peter Wehner writes (and Tweets) along similar lines, with one of Mr. Wehner’s themes being that Trump is mentally unstable.
Both Gerson and Wehner worked in the GWB White House.
