Obama and Wiretapping and a very interesting tidbit…

Everybody’s screeching about the FISA Court and the FBI and Obama and Trump, etc etc.

My question is this:  Could Obama, or the DNC along with him, have privately had special highly-paid people wiretap Trump’s offices themselves, no FBI, no FISA?    Could all the FBI, FISA investigations clear Obama, only to leave him innocent again of doing something like his gov’t did with the targeting of Conservatives through the IRS and the James Rosen scandal that never really saw the light of day, etc.?

A TIDBIT:  I had lunch with a friend very involved in the production of  a highly watched show on the History Channel.  He told me that one of their camera people, a woman, told him that she’d worked on The Apprentice and has been beleaguered in NYC by media, finding her and asking “You worked on the Trump thing…did he harass you?  Did he come on to you?…etc”.   They are trying to find ANYTHING they can on Trump.  We know that, but it was fascinating to hear it second hand.

  1. Doubtful. Trump has Secret Service protection from around OCT 2015, if I remember correctly. That would include regular electronic sweeps of Trump Tower and Mar-a-Lago.

But what is still unknown, is whether or not the FISA warrant that DID occur, was directed toward Russian originated landlines or cell communications. When we talk broadly of ‘wiretapping’ both are applicable.

  2. It appears that Watergate style plumbers were not necessary, FISA itself was enough.
That and a corrupt admin such as the Obama one.

  3. Adrienne says:

This is starting to remind me of Spy vs Spy in the old Mad Magazine issues (eons ago.) As I’ve already stated – did Odumbo’s puppet masters tap the Trump Tower phones? Yes. Next question.

  4. Kid says:

I agree that his land line phones at least were tapped by private technician(s).

Just saw this …it made me laugh because I can’t imagine what’s so bad about taking lines from a press release if you want to tout the same technical information from the White House? So WHAT if the WH “plagiarized” AND, the TIME MAG article continues… “….plagiarism has cropped up among Trump’s team before ..”
Honestly, there is NOTHING they won’t dig into and SLAM HARD, reminding America that Melania “plagiarized” from Michelle Obama’s speech…as if someone couldn’t come up with the same words on her own?

CI, couldn’t the Secret Service in their sweeps have found a wiretap?

Ed, this is getting a little too serious, isn’t it…on many levels. I just hope and pray they find, demonstratably, that Obama DID do this, and on his own…..there were so many things during his admin, which his surrogates say was “scandal free”, in spite of the IRS targets, etc..

Adrienne….If the Obama people DID do this privately, they knew nothing sticks to him, that the media’d NEVER buy any of the Republican pundit’s protestations…..it simply doesn’t matter anymore what the Right says. The left wins. And, since they didn’t win this election, they’ve found ways to win in getting Trump to look as bad as any president possibly could, with help from him, sadly, on some levels.

  6. ….couldn’t the Secret Service in their sweeps have found a wiretap?

That was my point. Had there been physical – landline taps in place……the USSC would have found them. I’m not sure this is going to end well for the Adminsitration.

CI…at the worst, this accusation made without evidence will be the beginning of an end I sadly predicted days after he took office, because of the words he used in Tweets and jumping to conclusions, etc.,: at the best, he never makes accusations without proof again. Fat chance.
If he’s got some evidence, it needs to be out yesterday.

In Trump’s defense, becoming President has to be the most daunting thing possible; and yes, he has been rumored to have said he didn’t realize all it entailed (he made comments like that which the Obama folks said after he’d been to the WH the first time with Obama….Obama acted nice, Trump said “he likes me!” but Trump is too nice to have realized THIS MAD IS A SNAKE SO BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY), he has said he didn’t realize how tough it’d be to ‘fix’ Obamacare, etc etc. I get all that….it has to be astonishing to get in office and learn the ugly backroom dealings of our politicians, etc….
BUT, the learning curve has to be over really soon……..and I’d have thought that if we’re struggling with getting the grip we’ve actually admitted to trying to get, we keep our mouths shut real tight when it comes to accusations, when we don’t enough on any subject, etc.
Spicer, Conway, the Trump kids, all seem to have had very little effect on him.
He needs to turn presidential ..and FAST……

Something isn’t working, either his own personality, or advice he’s getting, and I’m thinking Trump’s working on fixing it. Let’s hope.

Not doubtful. Wikileaks/Assange asserted today that the CIA had “lost” control of it’s hacking tool arsenal. If you own consumer products… hackers have microphones. If you lost you’re hacking tool kit… the sky’s the limit

Samsung Smart TVs are vulnerable due to a Weeping Angel hack that puts the TV in a “Fake-Off” mode. The owner believes the TV is off when it’s actually on, allowing the CIA to record conversations in the room and send them through the internet to a covert CIA server.

Remotely Hack Smart Phones: Infected phones would send the user’s geolocation, audio, and texts. It could covertly activate the camera and mic of the phone. A special division was devoted to hacking iOS products, like iPhones and iPads. Android phone were also targeted.

Bypassing Encrypted Apps: The CIA used techniques to bypass encrypted apps. WikiLeaks listed the following: WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram, Wiebo, Confide, and Clockman. The smart phones would be hacked first, and then audio and message traffic was collected before encryption was applied through the apps.

Targeting Microsoft, Linux, and OSx with Malware: The CIA’s efforts also focused on infecting Microsoft Windows users with malware. Microsoft was targeted via viruses injected through CDs/DVDs, USBs, data hidden in images, covert disk areas, and other types of malware. Malware attacks were also aimed at Mac OS X, Solaris, Linus, and more.

Phones Running Presidential Twitter Accounts: Interestingly, WikiLeaks wrote that “specific CIA malware revealed in Year Zero is able to penetrate, infest and control both the Android phone and iPhone software that runs or has run presidential Twitter accounts.” As WikiLeaks mentioned, if the CIA can hack these phones, so can anyone else who obtained or discovered the vulnerability. When WikiLeaks obtained the hack, it had been distributed to others too.

Router Exploitations: Hundreds of router exploitations are listed in the document.

The CIA Can Misdirect Their Cyber Attacks to Look Like Someone Else: According to WikiLeaks, the CIA collects attack techniques ‘stolen’ from malware produced in other states including Russia via a project called UMBRAGE. The CIA does this for many reasons, but one use they can do is leave behind fingerprints that misdirect attribution, making it look like their cyber attack was done by someone else. (Note: It’s unclear at this time if the misdirection is WikiLeaks’ interpretation of one thing the CIA could do, or if there’s a specific place in the document where the CIA mentions this use of UMBRAGE.)

FJ: this is hideous information but important.

I’ve written this before but need to republish; More than 20 years ago, I heard a bigwig from either the CIA or FBI on TV…PBS….a lecture on our intel capabilities. He was horrified because he said “our best and brightest applicants at CIA and FBI were from Harvard, Yale, Princeton…etc….today, none of them (NONE) come from there. Today it’s mostly guys who can’t get a job. And NONE (NON!) pass the lie test for theft, drugs, etc. NONE” He added that he was terribly worried about the effects of what this means to us in the future.

I think we’re living the future he predicted. We keep hearing our intel in such confusion…”lost our control over hacking?? and other things??” Just like TSA people, who are WAY more important than most people think, are probably not patriots and would probably take one million dollars to let a terrorist on a plane….(not like EL AL employees who are proud and loyal Israelis…),,,

All ANYBODY wants today is CONTROL….not the GOOD OF AMERICA. Not by a long shot…

  10. He was horrified because he said “our best and brightest applicants at CIA and FBI were from Harvard, Yale, Princeton…etc….

Notice though, he said applicants. The IC is facing a shortage of qualified candidates who have experience, a Bachelors [minimum] and can pass a CI Poly [minimum]. I can’t speak for 20 years ago….but it doesn’t seem to be as dire now.

Of course, 20 years ago, the military was still just overcoming the effects of the Vietnam era, where it regards qualified candidates and drugs.

  11. geeez2014 says:

CI, when a business can’t find good “applicants” the future for that business is pretty dim.
Glad to hear you don’t seem to feel it’s that dire now. I’m quite sure they still aren’t getting candidates from Ivy League colleges….he said he could see the educational indoctrination had affected the students at those schools, talking also about ROTC offices which had been on, or very near, campuses for years being forced to move some distance away.

  12. Baysider says:

You’re right – it’s a good point well taken. It recalls an interview I heard with an entertainment reporter, a woman, who covered Trump in the entertainment world for 10 years. They were looking for anything juicy to sell news, and never came up with anything on him. Apparently he’s very normal and has unremarkable ordinary habits. She dismissed most of these claims as bunkum.

  13. -FJ says:

I’d be staffing my CIA w/combat vets, NOT Ivy League snowflakes.

  14. Z – Most that I know of….and nearly all of my colleagues, are military veterans, many retired after a 20+ year career.

  15. geeez2014 says:

    CI…that’s very reassuring.
By the way, if you read fiction, are you familiar with Lee Child? I LOVE his military ‘who done it’ novels…am reading one now…I think I’ve read nearly all of them. For a Brit to apparently ‘get it right’ on American military, uniforms, arms, protocol, etc., blows my mind!

FJ…they weren’t snowflakes then! They were MEN back in the day.

    Baysider, good to know!

  16. Baysider says:

To follow up FJ’s thought, read bill gertz’s new book iWar. It will scare the peewadden out of you. Very sobering. I can only “hope” part of this is our own disinformation tactics in play or we are IN TROUBLE. And I think we are, considering the obama administration HID major damaging hacks Iran was doing while he was negotiating away any nuclear safety shield with Iran.

  17. Z – I didn’t know who Lee Child was until I Googled him just now. He’s definitely made a name for himself with the Jack Reacher series/movies. Though I read a ton of military history, I normally don’t read mil fiction. But maybe on my next deployment, I would give his stuff a try. Thanks!

  18. Imp says:

Tom Clancy or Robert Ludlum Couldn’t have dreamed this up. Let’s make a new movie with Matt Damon fighting the dastardly black CIA ops…..We’ll call it “Matt takes on draining the swamp”.

  19. Funny how patriotic Americans [military & intelligence] are now vilified because they’re the targets of the ‘chosen one’…….

  20. Kid says:

Absolutely dislike Tom Cruise, but the Jack Reacher movies are good enough to watch twice.

IMP- it’s apparently a very large swamp.
Trump, Cruz, Gowdy. I have no confidence in the rest of them. Maybe some of them are worth a damn.

  21. geeez2014 says:

CI….I think CHILD is head and shoulders above most…I hope you enjoy it. I dragged my book just now to the car wash and it was all I could do to close it to get my car! They were laying out a task and I’m thinking “Oh, MAN, this is going to be GREAT seeing what happens!” He’s fabulous.

You mean Trump as “chosen”, right? And you think HE vilifies the military?

Imp; Matt Damon IS the swamp

Kid, I’ve never seen the Reacher movies…the books are so good, tho.

Baysider…I don’t think most of us need a book to know just what trouble we could be facing….I’m trying to stay positive….it’s HARD 🙂

  22. I see shades of 8 years ago……just the parties have switched. I key in [as might be expected] on his catalog of comments regarding the military and the intelligence community. Say what you will of Obama’s perceived attitude towards both….he has never said what Trump has.

I’ve never seen the Reacher movies either…but I’m willing to give a book a shot. Who am I kidding, it’s such easier to grab the flick from one of the Soldiers who has Gigs of stuff on their hard drives. My how war has changed….

  23. cube says:

Legally, believing a thing is not the same as proving it. I understand that, but I can’t deny my spidey sense going bazonkers over these wiretapping allegations. Look at the list of people already accusing obama of wiretapping them. Don’t stop there, look at his history with the IRS, et al… Trump talked about crooked Hillary, now it’s time to look at crooked Barry.

  24. Kid says:

Imo, here is the problem with Trump.

Cruz and Gowdy are focused on making things better for America/Doing the right thing.
The rest of them unless someone makes a case for some repub congressmen have been bought by whomever and they are nothing more than self-serving sacks of * McCain and his butt buddy Graham stand out.

Trump was elected becuase he is Not a poltitician. People who haven’t voted in years or decades came out and voted for one last chance for an America what Congress han’t sold down the river for their own enrichment.

Imagine being Trump and going against that. These sacks are now fighting for their comfort zones, their lives in many cases. Picture evil creatures fighting for their last breath. This is what we have here. And it’s not just Congress. It’s the media. It is the gaggle of “scientists” who have been sucking off the 2.4 billion (last I heard) climate change government funded teat. It’s socialism around the world doing everything they can to either keep their straw stuck in America’s side or trying to stick their straw in.

If you are for a Patriotic America, if you are for an environment where most are the solution rather than the problem, where government works For The People, You’re in such a minority, it is insane to even believe ‘we’ still exist. How can that be that we still exist? We are so outnumbered it’s insane. We have no one working for us – not the media – no where near even a minority in Government. I’m amazed we are still alive.

This will probably make a good post.

  25. geeez2014 says:

Kid, it’s pretty obvious Trump has a kind of tender ego when he goes wild over a lot of things, which he’s totally entitled to have but when you say “Imagine being Trump and going against that.”..I feel that, too. I worry about his hanging in there. I know everybody probably thinks he’s strong and stalwart and “NO PROBLEM” but I have to admit I think he’s those things and I think he needs a lot of adulation and this constant running him down can’t feel good. I’m actually hoping some of his staff shields some of the kinds of things I see, for example…

cube…Yup~ I mentioned that earlier…..the IRS lies, and other things…NOTHING stuck to Obama because of the media, Americans new PRAVDA

  26. Kid says:

Z, Put another way, we (America) have hit the lowest depths of leftist progressive depravity. Anyone countering that is going to have to be always going against the grain and for that will constantly be criticized by people on both sides. We’ve gone too friggin far. Only those of us with critical thinking skills are able to discern that the American government has devolved into a self-serving piece of S* requiring new and often uncomfortable paradigms and language and events to somehow pull us out of this tailspiin into PC multi-cultural bullS*.

It’s not going to be pretty. It’s not going to be PC. It’s not even going to be presidential. It’s goiing to be Ugly.

btw – I sent a tweet to DJT saying that our HC system desperately needs TORT REFORM. That is the first thing it needs actually. It appears the house bill to replace obammycare falls short of what many of us hoped for. Crap.

Hey, but the beast isn’t in the WH and we may damn well end up with a 6-3 supreme court. I’d have taken that Nov 7.

  27. Kid says:

Z, How does any sane person react when he is attacked by the celebrities, the media, the democrat POS’s and the RINOs ? It’s like being a Marine in a foxhole with 25 guys surrounded by 150 million POS’s gunning for you. Seriously, You’re going to somehow project “presidential’ ?
    Nyet.

  28. Kid says:

Imagine…. You have these vile POS’s attackign you, your kids, your wife. And somehow you’re supposed to project a Cary Grant image? What?

  29. geeez2014 says:

Kid, we ain’t seen NOTHIN’ yet….wait till the next Supreme Court Justice is up for appointment…that’s going to be , maybe literally, a blood bath.

and ya, if you can remain dignified and presidential, which Reagan did when he was constantly attacked, you become one of THE best loved presidents of all time.
Though I admit it’s worst now, it was pretty bad for Ronnie and Nancy…. You don’t have to project Cary Grant, just SHUT UP and let them wonder what you’re thinking..”why’s he not responding???” yup.
Now Schwarzenegger seems to want to get some free publicity, saying Trump “loves him”….

  30. Kid says:

Well, I Love Trump and the Terminator too. You mention things are different now, but I think the difference between Ronald’s time and Donald’s time is Light Years. Maybe more. This is all out war with evil morons on one side and us on the other.

  31. Kid says:

    I’m dreaming of a
    6 to 3 Supremeeeeeeeeeeee Court.

Just like the Ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen and libtards have to shut the…. hell………… up.

  32. geeez2014 says:

Kid, you’re probably right..it is FAR worse and if anybody sees that, it’s me…you’re right.
I just looked at a news homepage and every headline is so hard to read: TRUMP TWEETS BRING HIM CLOSER TO IMPEACHMENT! HAWAII FIRST STATE TO CHALLENGE NEW TRAVEL BAN! DEM’S NEW REASON FOR TRUMP TO RELEASE TAX RETURNS! etc etc…

I hate to think what those returns have in them…….it’s like the Obama birth certificate thing.

and, as for your lyrics? Cute, but don’t quit your day job :-)!!+
