NORTH KOREA

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING TO HAPPEN?  Care to weigh in about what the chubby little jerk with the odd haircut might do?

Is TRUMP the guy we want in charge NOW?  “North Korea’s GOT TO BEHAVE?”…..and has Trump turned into the new Obama who bashed Bush all the time?   Trump can’t mention much without reminding us what a failure Obama was on that subject, which deflates from the importance of what Trump’s doing because it’s such cheap shots after you’ve heard them 10 times.  Ugh!

Do you trust Mattis to take care of this without us getting hurt?

WHAT DO YOU THINK MIGHT HAPPEN IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS?

same old stuff, just a different color

China’s posture in Northeast Asia has traditionally been to keep competitive foreign powers at a distance. South Korea and Japan are China’s rivals in the region, and Beijing has absolutely no desire to see either of them engaged in a war along its northern border. From the Chinese perspective, North Korea is an ideal neighbor: it is essentially like having one’s own pit bull at the front door, keeping away any unwanted intruders. Pyongyang is hostile, xenophobic, and militant, all qualities to be valued in a guard-dog. China is not about to jeopardize its security by doing anything meaningful to “rein in” its depraved border gargoyle.

However, Thais are worried about this stuff….

  2. Mustang says:

I agree with you that the chubby jerk is a dangerous man, but quite easily swatted. What we must not take our eyes from is the much more worrisome Turkish movement deeper into totalitarian Islam. I will admit some fascination in the contest between Turkey and Iran, vying for dominance in the world of crazies, but Turkey is easily a place where he next world conflagration could originate.

  3. Trump is reminding a hostile media that he inherited a mess.
Trump is the ONLY guy we have, so he better be the right one.
    Next couple weeks?
Hope fat boy has his accidental death premiums up to date.

  4. Any kinetic action on the Peninsula is going to be ugly quickly. The only real hope is an internal coup…..but that’s a remote hope. I agree with Mustang that the Erdogan/Turkey situation has farther reaching ramifications in a part of the world that’s already a hot mess, and with far fewer clean targets to strike.

  5. Mustang is correct. As Turkey becomes more totalitarian they become a threat. The “peaceful” religion of Islam is rife with dictatorial leaders. Sharia is the most dangerous form of religious zealotry and Turkey is flirting with it. There is a decided lack of “moderate” regimes. Throw in NK and you have a lot to worry about. if this jerk gets a missile capable of hitting Hawaii it’s going to be game on. I do believe we have the military technology to tame NK, but who’s up next? This jerk is a grave threat to SK and Japan. That makes him a grave threat to the US.

  6. bocopro says:

Li’l Kim was raised in a bizarre environment ruled by a psychotic paranoid. He was a neglected child of privilege living in a gilded fishbowl surrounded by starving peasants and general officers who never witnessed a battle but wore dozens of medals.

For him to grow up to be anything OTHER than a schizoid, paranoid, sadistic neo-Nero would be as miraculous as he is disturbed. He is a sociopathic narcissist believer in the mouse-that-roared theory of economics.

Phat Un has a consuming need to prove himself powerful and manly by demonstrating the polar opposite to the truth of his weakness and inadequacy, an alpha-male wannabe who delights in pulling the wings off trapped insects.

Trump is a true alpha male whose primary motivation is don’t-piss-me-off braggadocio. He prides himself on his habit of thinking outside the box and going boldly where no man has gone before.

He sees Kim as a deranged little nuisance who needs to be whacked, just as Clemenza did with Paulie. His take on it all is that China doesn’t want a full-scale war and has had quite enough of NorK’s Katzenjammer behavior.

DJT believes that South Korea, Japan, Australia, and virtually everyone on that side of the pond will go along with just about anything he does to quiet Xi’s yapping little Shit-Zu . . . short of nuking Pyongyang.

What I hope is happening here is that our forces have in place all the necessary hard- and software to disrupt the telemetry of anything Phat Un tries to launch.

I suspect we do, and I also believe that DJT has become convinced that repeated humiliation of the little self-indulgent little gnat will eventually result in a military overthrow of his genetically diseased dynasty.

  7. bunkerville says:

Fat Boy is nuts and young. I can’t believe that China wants NK to go Nuclear. China takes the long view. We think that 4 years is a long time. I agree as far asTurkey. It was badly handled thanks to Obama in part. That is where the eyeballs should go….

  8. Kid says:

N Korea? Anything but a ground war. Trump is the right guy until he isn’t. I don’t see anyone of the other candidates on either side that would have been willing to deal with N Korea who is threatening a nuclear strike and actively working on the hardware to get it done becuase they’d be too afraid of confronting China and Russia.

We will have sufficient reason to act sooner or later if the crazy fat kid doesn’t change course.

  9. FB says:

The biggest issue is for South Korea and the region. Because let’s be honest North Korea could be wiped off the map pretty quickly if we had to. Hopefully they’ll find a way to undermine this regime like we did with the Soviets. I’d rather see them drop free food to create chaos in this country than seeing the neighbors getting nuked.

  10. fredd says:

My hunch is that the Obese Un will succumb to a tainted serving of chateau briand, or some bad caviar. The Chinese have had it with this fat little kid making them look bad, and will take matters into their own hands.

  11. Bob says:

Nothing good is going to happen in North Korea. The Kim’s have been building their war machine since the original Korean conflict, and see themselves as the same people in the same war ever since.

We have kicked the can down the road for decades, and are now looking at the end of that road. The end will be when North Korea has the ability to strike not only others in the region, but the mainland USA.

Fortunately, we now have a President that can play fat Kim’s game. The Un should realize this. The Donald knows how to call bluffs, and will do so with Korea. I would hate to see more war on the peninsula, gut it may be unavoidable

  12. geeez2014 says:

Mustang and others; I believe Turkey is a big problem, too, and was kind of stunned that Trump called to congratulate Erdogan on an election most Turks feel was rigged…….I was really disappointed, though I suppose certain protocol must be observed.
It’s stunning to see pictures of Turkey only a few years ago…modern dress on women, etc., and now so many burkhas…..we almost had Turkey but they bought into the hardliners, or were forced to. And then there’s Erdogan in his Western suits while the women are covered. Hypocrite. But, of course, as an Armenian, I struggle with most things Turkish.

    BOB…Not sure what “playing Kim’s game” means…

SO MANY OF YOU FEEL CONFRONTATION IS UNAVOIDABLE? WOW. The sad thing is WE ARE SANE and the little putz is NOT.

ALL OF YOU WHO THINK UN WILL DIE? NO WAY. NOOOO way. Not unless there’s been a secret movement from within building and growing in which almost all his guards, etc., are in on it.
Still, I think that’s the only peaceful solution…

FB…I actually like your idea of the West dropping food on No Korea….until you’ve really studied the nightmare there, or read THE ORPHAN MASTER’S SON, you can’t understand HOW BRUTAL, HOW AWFUL N Korea really is.
He just killed his brother, an uncle, and others……..this man is CRAAAAAAAAAAAAZY!

Bocopro, I love how you put this “For him to grow up to be anything OTHER than a schizoid, paranoid, sadistic neo-Nero would be as miraculous as he is disturbed.” But I think we’re past caring how he got there, right? I like what you wrote…I hope you’re right

ED “Trump is the ONLY guy we have, so he better be the right one.” I can’t TELL you how often I think this and HOPE HOPE HOPE that’s right…..praying hard!

ALL OF YOU: RE TURKEY….REALLY? With a nutcase putz like UN threatening NUKES you think Turkey is THE PLACE TO WATCH NOWWWWW???

And DO NOT FORGET: WE ARE TIED TO TURKEY IN VERY WEIRD WAYS …WE REALLY PUSSY FOOT AROUND TURKEY BECAUSe OF AIR SPACE, ETC.;.. They have US by the……

  13. Mal says:

Trump being unpredictable may work in our favor, too. Let’s continue making our enemies a bit confused about him. Personally, I believe any of the other 17 candidates (including Hillary) would’ve been more transparent with their agenda. (We keep hearing “what is Trump’s agenda?”) I continue hoping he is getting good advice from his people. Unlike his predecessor, he won’t go it alone on these decisions so hopefully, we have the best minds at work.

  14. geeez2014 says:

anybody else ever notice how many ‘experts’ in this field; politicians, scientists, news people, etc., say NUCULAR instead of NUCLEAR? It never ceases to annoy me!!

  15. geeez2014 says:

Mal, I totally agree…though I have heard Trump does NOT listen well ..from one of Pence’s top guys whose wife is a friend of MY friend…..HA! Not very close a connection but a very reliable one. I keep hoping that’s changed since I heard it
Ya, he’s definitely confusing…and I think that could be good or VERY bad depending on the situation and who’s involved!

  16. geeez2014 says:

BY THE WAY, FOLKS: I thought Trump said only immigrants with criminal backgrounds would be rounded up and now we’re hearing a lot of non-criminals are being sent back on ICE planes??? Separating them from their children. Odd.

  17. geeez2014 says:

ALSO; I saw a guy almost in tears on the news this morning saying “They don’t treat us humanely”…and I’m thinking “you DO know you’ve broken our laws, right?”

  18. Kid says:

They need to take their kids with them.

  19. geeez2014 says:

Kid, if it were ME, I’d have to think long and hard about leaving MY kids behind…better life or not.

  20. Kid says:

Z, I tried telling you what a Genius Trump is. His biggest problem is he talks like a New Yorker.

  21. geeez2014 says:

Kid, trust me, I WILL NEVER CONSIDER TRUMP A GENIUS. EVER!!! NEVER!!!!!
I can’t say I like admitting this but I think he just gets lucky once in a while (I mean politically, of course)! I hope TO HEAVEN i am WRONG and he IS a genius!

  22. geeez2014 says:

OUCH! AND NOW ALASKA’S BEING ASKED TO UPDATE SURVIVAL STUFF IN CASE THERE’S A HIT FROM NORTH KOREA..>THIS, I believe we DO NOT need that little jerk to hear.

  23. Kid says:

Lol. Well kids shouldn’t drink either.

Also you see the commercials with people suffering horribly form the effcects of smoking? That’s the small minority. Some people smoke all their life, probably will get cancer, certainly have lung issues but there aren’t that many people walking around with holes in their necks to talk through.

Articles like that (I found it elsewhere as I refuse to click on yahoo) are agenda based to some extent.

  24. geeez2014 says:

Kid, the alcohol comparison never wins with me. Pot is STONERS, BIGGER DRUGS,…in my opinion, it’s just not the same as alcohol in many ways.
Booze is huge in Germany, for example…pot isn’t. We don’t see the wrecked kids in Germany as much as we see here….beer is known, it’s part of life..as is alcohol in America…healthy drinking..parents having cocktails. Some overdo…that’s a big problem.
    DRUGS? Whole different word..DRUGS………..
Time we finally realized what I personally saw in friends who started smoking pot in the Sixties….not all, but MANY lost their oomph…lost their ambitions….as described in the article.
    What agenda??

  25. Kid says:

The agenda for the anti-smokers is to convine everyone that if they smoke they will end up with a hole in their throat or one other I remember, half of their face missing. Totally mischaracterizing to get everyone to quit smoking. Not a bad idea – but still lying to get their wish. I hate misinformation especially when it’s that ridiculous. Sure some people end up like that but I have never personally seen or heard of one.

I disagree on the pot thing but you already know that, so..

Shouldn’t California be giving the same warning as Alaska? I think its closer.

  26. My friends and peers who turned to marijuana after leaving the military, to cope…..have uniformly fared much better than those who’ve turned to alcohol.

  27. John M. Berger says:

    @Mustang,
“I will admit some fascination in the contest between Turkey and Iran, vying for dominance in the world of crazies”
While I don’t like the direction that Turkey seems to be heading, is it possible that they can be useful in holding Iran at-bay? I have no idea but if anyone that I know does, it’s you.

  28. geeez2014 says:

CI, I’m happy for them. I’m sorry they need any dope to get them through life.
Kid…smoking’s caused so many deaths I can’t argue the overly dire examples.

  29. geeez2014 says:

If anybody’s still seeing the blog this late on the East Coast, please pray against the pain Imp’s experiencing…thanks.

  30. Bob says:

Z: I’m not sure what Imp is facing, but will pray, nonetheless.

Kim’s game? Kim is doing the same thing his papa and grandpapa did. They hold their breath, make threats, and then they get what they want from the rest of the world. Trump is able to play that kind of game which not of our President’s ever has, with the exception of Truman and Eisenhower. Somebody has to call the fat boy’s bluff, and I believe Trump can do it, hopefully without causing a war on the Korean peninsula. We have seen the Kims do their threat dance since the 1950’s, and they would get away with it because they knew that the USA had no appetite for the kind or war they threatened.

If fighting breaks out it will take more than a few cruise missiles. It will take soldiers on the ground.
