The media and Trump…….

TRUMP IS RIGHT….the media will kill any of his accomplishments.   Of course, the writer of the article proves him right 🙂

Lots going on about “first 100 days”…I didn’t know that’s been a kind of ‘test’ for presidents since FDR, did you?   I find it stupid and hollow…as if anybody cares what a president can do in only 100 days?  Took Obama 8 years NOT to close Gitmo as he promised…anybody notice?

What do you think Trump would have to DO to get the media to stop ‘killing’ all of his accomplishments?  Other than Executive Orders, what legislation HAS gone well?

ANY?   let’s talk!

Ahhh, the Fourth Estate, sailing along majestically, imperviously, wielding the prestige and power she stole from the displaced clergy and nobility at the end of the Feudal Era.

Today the press in its various guises arbitrarily sets standards for us ignorant masses in morality, propriety, and “coolness.” Those who resist are slapped silly and forced to comply or be excommunicated from the body politic.

With live TV the latest weapon of mass destruction in their arsenal, the media raised JFK to the Camelot Throne, then destroyed his successor for no other reason than his refusal to play by their rules; they didn’t like him and he didn’t like them.

Setting themselves up as the elites in the power void created by banishing the clergy and the nobility, the press donned the discarded robes of Lords of News, Behavior, and Importance.

When Nixon, despised by those self-proclaimed lords, shoved their liberal darling McGovern into the Ditch of Disregard, they were outraged. Their spite was boundless, and they thrust Watergate as both shield and sword into our faces until he was ejected like bilge water from a tramp steamer.

Now at their peak, the new nobility, quite like a newly installed dictator in a banana republic, set the agenda for public discussion, “progressive” legislation, and political organizations . . . protected from criticism or reprisal or even laws by the sacred force of the First Amendment.

Put another way, the media had freedom to say and do whatever they liked, whenever they liked, however they liked, and for as long as they liked, and anyone who objected was some kind of rube who didn’t understand the Constitution.

Trump not only rejects the self-possessed moral authority of the media but gives it the Bronx cheer and middle-finger salute. He gleefully ignores their rules and contemptuously throws the gauntlet back in their faces.

A strong minority of American adults, somewhere just under 50%, approve of his new-broom approach and drain-the-swamp strategy, both of which target the entrenched elite, who are the darlings of the mainstream media.

DJT steadfastly refuses to apologize for lip slips or tweet strumbles, preferring instead to double the bid and raise the bet. He is by nature brash and impetuous but by no means indecisive and certainly not a loafer. He is a patriot, if a somewhat careless and injudicious one, which is a great relief after the past 8 years of indecision, profligacy, racism, and apology we got from his predecessor.

Trump Derangement Syndrome is pandemic in the media, the universities, and the right-and-left-coast megalopolises. Short of a cure for cancer, paying off the debt, reducing Dyslam to cult status, and making Kim Phat Un behave like a good little boy, DJT will never satisfy the leftistes or atone for the primal sin of disrupting Her Rotten Heinous’s coronation.

History will, however, very likely elevate him to hero-warrior status, kinda like a NYC Rocky, for slaying the media Jabberwock and causing the pendulum to begin its return toward the center.

  2. If Trump doesn’t like the “100 days” theme….perhaps he shouldn’t have invoked it with his predicted successes so often during his campaign. Trump brings this on himself. No sympathy. None.

  3. The whole concept of judging a newly-installed executive by his first 100 days is rather silly. The first 6 months is often a period of acclimation on most jobs although with most new hires it’s the period during which they annoy Everybody by how much they’re trying to show their expertise.

  4. Ed – I’d go further and say that any arbitrary time frame, while an Administration is still in power, is ridiculous……and fodder only for the bored, the blind partisan and the mouth breathers.

  5. jerrydablade says:

I agreee… “the hundredth day is an arbitrary benchmark,” but shouldn’t he have won the nobel peace prize by now? Great topic, Z. Looking forward to the responses to the last question.

  6. geeez2014 says:

Jerry, I’m afraid there aren’t many answers to my last question. Yes! Why hasn’t he won the Nobel yet? it’s a WONDER, isn’t it?!!

CI….Trump DID invoke the 100 days….and still I think they ought to lay off him, and you know I’m no big fan.

Ed, I think this president’s ‘going out of his way’ to show how much he doesn’t know 🙂 Yes, it’s a time of getting used to the job and this guy hadn’t even any political experience…..has even SAID he didn’t know how tough this job would be. I KNEW, YOU know, how could HE not have? Did he do no research going into this whole thing?

Bocopro “Now at their peak, the new nobility, quite like a newly installed dictator in a banana republic, set the agenda for public discussion, “progressive” legislation, and political organizations . . . protected from criticism or reprisal or even laws by the sacred force of the First Amendment.” You watch CNN, too!!? !!! “History will, however, very likely elevate him to hero-warrior status, kinda like a NYC Rocky, for slaying the media Jabberwock and causing the pendulum to begin its return toward the center.”

YOU REALLY THINK SO? That gives me some optimism!

  8. Baysider says:

The first 100 days = hit the ground running. To me that means you get your agenda in motion, lay out your program and set the table for a path to your goals. Makes sense to me.

  9. Kid says:

    Agree with Baysider.

Trump will be able to do nothing to get the media to behave. Legislation? That’s up to a still swampy republican congress. Vote some rino’s out in 18 and see if the others notice.

  10. The only significant legislation to be proffered at this point, was the abysmal healthcare bill…..rebuked largely by the Freedom Caucus. Since I’m not a Republican, I have to ask… the FC rino’s?

  11. geeez2014 says:

    CI, thanks So much!
Actually, the FC is more Republican than centrist Republicans …
They rebuked it because it’s not truly Republican.

Kid, you ‘agree with Baysider’? 🙂 I think we ALL feel that way, sadly…She’s right, you’re right…we all are right. The media’s OVERBOARD …today, a headline is “The handwriting’s on the wall for Trump presidency”…i.e. impeachment.

Baysider..that’s exactly right…takes 100 days just to get one’s wits about him and get a huuuge organization on line…and even then 100 days is optimistic!

  12. cube says:

Not surprisingly, the same way the MSM could find absolutely nothing wrong with obama, they find absolutely everything wrong with Trump. I urge Trump to do what he was elected to do and not worry about the haters. They’re going to be there until mini-hillary or another worthless dem is elected.

  13. Mal says:

Well, there is nothing he or anyone can do to stop it, Z. It the left can’t be convinced or even swayed with facts then nothing will. They’re that stubborn.

  14. geeez2014 says:

It’s highly important to listen/look at leftwing media..CNN, all networks, WaPo, NYTimes….so important to understand just what Trump’s up against. I think a lot of big Trump fans don’t realize HOW bad it is…I’m talking 24/7. It’s good insight on what’s happening….
Sadly, Trump apparently pays attention and how he finds time is beyond me…why he cares quite so much is also beyond me..and he needs to stop commenting on it because they only kick it back more insultingly AT him for having done so)….

Don’t watch LONG (you’ll kill yourself!) but watch a little….do it ONCE…that’s quite enough. Because it’s 24/7 of what you’ll have just seen…anywhere.

The answer to my post is there’s nothing Trump can do to combat the media, but I really hoped you’d have some funny answers like WORLD PEACE, NOBODY’S HUNGRY ANYMORE, NOT ONE PERSON….:-)
Think anything like THAT’d do it?

    Probably not…

  15. Baysider says:

I’m not sure Trump is DOING what I said. BUT THINK OF THE ALTERNATE. Yes, yes, the shadow of the Hildebeast should remind us how lucky we are for the moment. Her agenda was long in place and all ready to steamroller destruction over the American constitution. It’s still there – waiting, waiting, waiting for the hole the media shock troops punch through to make a new path for its next standard bearer.

Look at the BATTLE we face. Berkeley is giving Milo and Coulter the same treatment rabid racists gave to little kids integrating schools in the civil rights era. Only THIS time the media is behind the ‘racists.’

  16. geeez2014 says:

Baysider….Right….It’s warming to remember SHE LOST SHE LOST SHE LOST…and the downslide in America would have been quick and catastrophic…

I keep stupidly thinking “Well, NOW university kids will wake up…imagine denying speakers in AMERICAN SCHOOLS?” Heather MacDonald was treated the same at Berkeley and what used to be quite Conservative Claremont…even she as surprised as they whisked her out the back door.

Excellent point about the same treatment as little kids in the civil rights era and how the media’s complicit now. Swine.

  17. geeez2014 says:

By the way….my Easter celebration dinner at my uncle’s home included a Professor of Middle East studies and theology from UCLA. We talked about the Milo situation and, as fairly conservative as this guy says he was, he said “But why have someone like Milo who’s only a provocateur?” I thought “What? that’s free speech? Only if it’s not provocative?” 🙂

He also denied the leftwing-edness of most profs…saying in his department they do like differing views and also said I was wrong about how many Jews don’t support Israel. Methinks this guy’s in an Ivory Tower.

  18. Baysider says:

Milo IS provocative, but what about Mario Salvo, you guys at Berkeley?

  19. Kid says:

Z, I’m all checked out on the left so don’t need to or want to watch the left. They are balls to the wall anti-America which is all anyone needs to know.

Baysider, Yes, communism along with islam is willing to wait thousands of years. You don’t defeat them (unless you destroy them), you battle them 24/7. We’ve got to get education back. When people can see the evil, the evil will go hide and be impotent. They are the opposite of hiding today.

  20. Kid says:

Cube, Agree, Trump needs to plow on and let the ignants roll off like wter on a duck’s back. But I also don’t have a problem with him putting out resistence either. SOME people will see that and think, gee does he have a point. Gotta start somewhere, and the talking heads have little power these days.

  21. Baysider says:

The media is STILL after Reagan’s accomplishments. And they credit Newt Gingrich’s (Contract with America) to Clinton (who signed Gingrich’s bills under great pressure, knowing he’d get the credit).

  22. geeez2014 says:

Kid, I obviously disagree but I get your stance…! I agree that Trump needs to plow on and putout resistance…sadly, his resistance isn’t what I’d call full of dignity and class…THAT would speak VOLUMES and that’s all I’ve TRIED TO SAY HERE for MONTHS to no avail……but he has got a bit better in the retorts, THANK GOD.’s only free speech if it’s liberals speaking. And it’s BUSH’s FAULT, dontchaknow.

  23. Kid says:

Z, to me dignity and class is akin to Diploooooooooooooooomacy. I hate diplomacy. Diplomacy is lying in tuxedos. I want real. I’m ready for real. Even if it is uncomfortable at times. It’s been very uncomfortable the last 8 years at least with the silver tongue teleprompter Jesus. I want real and again, in this environenment real is going to be unsavory and uncomfortable. 🙂

  24. Dignity is not lying….pathologically. Wake me when we have dignity again.

  25. geeez2014 says:

Kid…please…I want dignity. He could NAIL THEIR EARS BACK JUST AS TOUGH WITH DIGNITY….even TOUGHER, actually You’ll remember that Reagan did that beautifully.
My business partner used to hear me talking to vendors who let us down on a project and he’d say “you could fall in the storm drain and come out smelling like a rose”…because I gave them HELL and did it …beautifully 🙂 I think that’s MUCH more powerful than the crap Trump hands out in his stupid Tweets.

    CI….wouldn’t that be wonderful?

  26. Kid says:

I don’t have any problem with Trump’s tweets. Do you subscribe?

  27. geeez2014 says:

yes, as I said below, he’s toning them down finally…doesn’t sound as much like a clueless schoolyard bully.
But I also don’t want him saying “I told the Prime Minister of China that he’d do better if he …with Korea” etc. He talks to the public like they’re buddies and he’s confiding…this is the businessman part that doesn’t work as president.
