Maddow’s ratings now better than FOX’s….

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS?     Here’s part of the story in that link:

“Maddow’s surge is being fueled partly by her day-in, day-out criticism of the Trump administration. There is an increased appetite for the liberal arguments she has been making for years.

“There’s a reason Rachel is beating Fox and CNN,” MSNBC president Phil Griffin told CNNMoney in an email. “She’s a talented storyteller who’s helping her audience cut through all the confusion coming out of Washington. She’s connecting dots in ways no one else is.”

Maddow is known for flouting the conventions of cable news. She delivers long, informative monologues that sometimes last for 20 minutes.

Her fans say she’s providing necessary scrutiny of the Trump administration. Her critics, on the other hand, say she’s become a left-wing Sean Hannity, single-mindedly obsessed with anti-Trump stories.

While those debates rage on Internet forums, the ratings speak for themselves.”

The story also says some of the more recent better ratings are O’Reilly not being around. This might be more a loss than we’d thought.

She’s rating best with THE YOUNG VIEWERS…..THIS is the brainwashing (called “cutting through all the confusion coming out of Washing DC” by her fans) that the young LOVE…it’s like going to university classes and then getting the same stuff by Maddow.

Do you think TUCKER CARLSON can attract younger viewers?  Could Jesse Watters have done a better job than that?   Do you think Jesse Watters can bring younger people to FOX?

The Left is REALLY working to KILL THE CONSERVATIVES and it seems to be on track.  Meanwhile, Trump’s hammering for JOBS…Does that speak to young Americans?

What do you think about this whole Maddow situation?  Let’s not just slam her (oh, so easy and fun!), let’s talk about how FOX can cope…thanks!

  1. Another question is whether Fox wants to counter with a conservative point of view (which I think Tucker’s choice indicates) or counter with a more liberal slant (as many feel the younger Murdochs want)?

Caught Maddow’s show a coupla times just outta curiosity. Based on limited observation, I saw her as a glib, articulate, well-read, nimble-minded flibbertigibbet.

IOW, a well-educated, brainwashed Ricochet Rabbit with a finely developed knack for metaphor, allusion, and argument structure.

Her problem seems to be that the great majority of what she knows is simply incomplete, skewed, or freakin wrong.

The Fox pendulum is returning from the Oort Cloud of broadcast conservatism toward center with every indication of picking up speed toward the opposite end of the infotainment galaxy.

Like many other leftistes, Maddow has a Skinnerian/Pavlovian knee-jerk reaction to anything not safely nestled in the Prog Book Of Chants, but no viable solutions or alternatives to DJT.

I mean, really . . . do they genuinely believe that a career criminal/congenital liar would be better than an accomplished, experienced CEO behind that desk? Or a barely disguised communist who would be 80 years old before he ran out of other people’s money with his pie-in-the-sky programs at the end of his first term in office?

Look . . . I’m 76, and I accept that my short-term memory is going . . . going . . . and I frequently can’t remember by dinnertime what I had for lunch. I’m nowhere NEAR as quick and keen mentally as I was 30 years ago, and I’d really like to see some serious consideration for age limits on SCotUS and PotUS as well as term limits on Senilators and Reprehensibiles.

As for TV news and infotainment programming, I’d like to shut ‘em all down for about 18 months and provide news the old-fashioned way: headlines at breakfast and dinnertime with morning and evening newspapers giving FACTS with special sections for editorial opinions, somewhere around section 4, right after the funny papers and sports.

‘Storyteller’ is a polite euphemism for LIAR, which Mad-cow is. She needs to be sent to her room without dinner, after having her mouth washed out with LYE (very apropos) soap.

Mal, please…when that happens, IGNORE IT. I’d forgotten to change the publication date on this when I wrote yesterday’s post instead…

    ED is exactly right…thanks, Ed.

Bocopro..shutting them all down for 18 months sounds like utter bliss to me.

I had to laugh this morning, reading a headline article about how TRUMP PUSHES BUTTON ON HIS DESK AND THE BUTLER BRINGS HIM A COKE!! You can well imagine how nasty the innuendos were. IF you continued reading…the very last line said OBAMA USED IT, TOO! Fancy THAT?! But who reads till the end? Very effective nasty leftwing ‘journalism’.

Ed, I’m hoping that FOX can attract younger viewers because we’ve all known for a long time their demographic is older…..
Young people are basically ONLY getting LIBERAL LIBERAL LIBERAL…on the internet, on the news, in their classrooms…….and they are taught not to even have the curiosity to seek other opinions. They’re just taught “If it’s different than THIS, it’s HATEFUL REPUBLICANISM”

THIS MUST BE CHANGED AND IT COULD BE IF CONSERVATIVES FINALLY THOUGHT ABOUT IT AND TALKED ABOUT IT LOUDLY IN PUBLIC…OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
I think the ridiculous fascism of the left’s not allowing conservatives to speak on campuses MIGHT be working a bit to show people how utterly unthinking, uncurious and unAmerican that is.

  9. Rachel Maddow is an over-educated, sock puppet. I around these people all day. Most liberal ideologues are like parrots, they speak what they hear. She sings from the same sheet of music night after night. Liberals love to listen to her lullaby as it puts them into the deep sleep of self-righteous peace. Carlson on the other hand loves to spar with liberals and you can watch his face as they talk and see that he almost regrets what he’s about to do to them. It’s fun to watch in a gladiatorial way. My only hope is that there is no shortage of pomposity in the country for him to skewer. Maddow is like a college professor who drones on for a class period after which you need to stand to get the blood flow back into your butt. A real learning experience.

Law and Order….There is no WAY Maddow would have bright conservatives to joust with…imagine her arguing with Heather MacDonald or Ann COULTER? Or Madcow Malkin? or PIRRO, the spitter? OY!!

Bunkerville…really? I’m glad to hear Tucker’s beating them out….I agree about the younger audiences not having money to buy from ads..

Nobody EVER questioned (but me) how O’Reilly caused FOX to lose EIGHT-EIGHT advertisers…..if anybody believes they HAVE 88 on every day, 88 DIFFERENT ones, I’ve got a old set of encyclopedias I KNOW You’d love 😉

Cube, I agree…just reporting on the facts. I think Tucker might do better and better; he’s started with very high ratings, so I’m hoping he brings people in. Something about O’Reilly REALLY captured peoples’ imaginations..even as pompous as they’d say he was…they loved him.
His stature, his books, his huge charity stuff, and you never knew what he might say about certain topics.
I have always liked Tucker Carlson so I’m eager to see where he goes. I know one thing; he’s apparently extremely happily married, which is a good thing because that boy can NEVER EVER hit on ANYBODY and work at FOX…they’re WATCHING 🙂

Interesting….the media must like Trump’s tax cutting plans because they’re now writing how OBAMA WANTED TO DO THAT, TOO, BUT NOT QUITE AS MUCH.
Oh, yes…anything Trump does that the leftwingers approve of will be OBAMA DID IT FIRST 🙂
Of course, the media ALSO hasn’t hesitated adding things like what I heard earlier today “…this tax cut will help real estate firms LIKE TRUMP’S…” Yes, yes, it’s not about America, it’s being done by Trump just so he can pay less taxes!

Do people REALLY BELIEVE THAT STUFF!?

Lol. There will be not hitting upon anyone ever in the Fox studios, that’s for sure. That said, do you honestly think that CNN, MSNBC and the other alphabet networks don’t have similiar problems? I’ve been in work situations where men got a little randy, but never in the kind of sexually abusive and aggressive situations Bill Clinton perpetrated on unwilling women. Yet one is acceptable and one is not. I don’t support either, but the hypocrisy is beyond belief.

I totally agree with you…this is “GET FOX”…..And, of course, their media won’t divulge THEIR dirty laundry. And the hypocrisy is NUTS…you’re so right.

“She’s a talented storyteller.” Yes she is. Making stuff up on the fly or getting an orgasm from a normal tax record of Trump’s. She’s pathetic and her IQ is fairly average.

I also think that a lot less people watch Fox but that’s based on my behavior since I catch things on youtube now.

It makes sense that leftist who were sleeping under Obama are now watching more MSNBC. Likewise I was watching more Fox with Obama as president and now less (mostly b/c I cut cable.)

And good point..it does make sense more leftists are watching now that they’re SO shocked.
