NAVY VETERAN…………….so??

The one thing most news venues include before a name or other details of a perpetrator of a crime are given is military duty.   Here is a piece on the Times Square situation…..and the part that’s right up at the top:

“A driver plowed into a crowd in New York’s Times Square midday Thursday, killing an 18-year-old woman and injuring 22 others, police said.  The motorist, a Navy veteran, tried to flee the scene, according to police, but was tackled by a traffic agent.”

  1. Much like their erroneous use of the term “sniper” [which professionally grates me], news media will look for any aspect of sensationalism….in the guise of providing the public as such detail as possible.

  2. Check out the photo at the bottom of this post.

Who is that “family member”? And what kind of beard is he sporting?

Richard Rojas himself seems to be a whack job. His discharge from the Navy was “other than honorable.” I wish that we knew the details as to why.

  3. CI,
news media will look for any aspect of sensationalism

    No doubt!

They will add or omit whatever they need to drive their statist agenda. An opportunity to provide a dig against our military. Worse is when there is actually a terrorist killer still at large yet the media won’t even disclose race because its somehow inflammatory.

  5. John M. Berger says:

WHAT, “a Navy veteran”! How about a NAVY REJECT?

  6. “The mayor said major sites in the city will get additional police coverage from anti-terror units.”
“That stretch between 42nd and 43rd Street is always the most crowded. The fact that that’s where he ended up going through was probably the most devastating place that he could’ve gone,” she added. “And it’s terrifying because I’m here all the time. It’s just scary to know that that can happen, and it’s surreal to know, and it feels personal.”
But it’s not thought to be terror-related.
It’s just terrifying and anti-terror units are being deployed.
He may be a former member of the Navy but he is a current notary public.

  7. John,
WHAT, “a Navy veteran”! How about a NAVY REJECT?

He’s actually now saying something like how he’s a vet and needs help and couldn’t get it and wanted to kill people.

Ed, “Notary Public Terrifies Crowd”….yup! good one…

  11. Veterans, police, teachers, or any religious, are people the media love to malign. Left wing agitators, any minorities or women’s radicals, and Dems in general, are all protected. Of course, fake news stories are strictly off limits for reporting purposes. I watched a show on the Duke Lacrosse fiasco and it was infuriating.
