Saw this about 2 weeks ago in another forum. Quickly produced a screed decrying the loss of dignity and privacy for the heteronormals in favor of the less than one percent of mentally or biologically gender-confused individuals, then dumped it with similar alacrity before anyone saw it.
Of my several grandchildren, one is gender confused and one is completely asexual. All agree with me that sometimes you get a bad hand, but you just gotta play the cards you’re dealt and not change the rules in your favor for the other players — ante up or get out, don’t interrupt everyone else’s party because you don’t like pizza.
Bottom line was that we seemed to survive quite nicely for millennia when Ma Nature’s assembly line produced a blivet that wasn’t quite up to milspecs, but now the overwhelming majority must make sacrifice for the very group which has the highest suicide rate on the planet and constitutes a bigger discipline problem than a thousand years of he-in and she-in after Taps in the Supply Locker.
Usedtabe that people with abnormalities simply coped. They didn’t demand special treatment. People with warts, 6 toes, webbed fingers, baldness, left-handedness, green eyes, or a longing to cross-dress and even snuggle with individuals equipped with similar plumbing did so privately and didn’t make a big deal out of confusing 6-year-old girls in public restrooms.
Now, however, in the world’s biggest social-justice experimental lab we’ve concluded that it’s all for one and the one is the nonconformist, whether he-she be gender, gluten, or gnostic. Damn the culture, full quirk ahead! And let the taxpayer beware.
Made me think of Stevenson’s tidy little poem “Requiem”:

I’m not in favor of ‘transgendered’ servicemembers [if that does indeed come to pass] serving in the Armed Forces. To many health and functional issues, that don’t contribute to the national security of our nation. However, on a slightly different tack, I do foresee a day when gendered separation and facilities will begin to be phased out as redundant and duplicative.
Military society will adapt; they’ve always done much better than society at large.

I should for context, that [speaking of the Army at least] communal showers and toilets [especially] aren’t nearly as ubiquitous now as they were in the past. Post Basic Training, most barracks resemble college dorms….and when deployed [excepting truly austere environments], trailers with shower stalls are the norm.

It works the other way around too, you now. Men having to get used to women in the showers in close proximity. My son has served aboard a Danish submarine where that is the case and it was problematical.
I think this is part of the left trying to make us more European and overcoming our Midwestern American social norms and mores.

Boropro…perfect poem. I think we were better off with more gender-specific JOBS let alone showers.
I personally don’t know a woman, young or old, who wants to take a shower in a stall next to a man she doesn’t know, or is ogling her, etc iF anybody thinks this blending of shower rooms is going to keep only to women and transgenders, they’re dreaming.
I know that there have been many pregnancies in the armed services…and the mliitary has to pay, has to take time to placate all involved (some pregnancies have occurred to pretty new brides from nice guys back home, not by these guys back home). I hate to think how much our tax dollars pay to settle those situations.
I am still of a mind that men are better in combat roles and women should be freeing them up by doing the desk jobs they’re far better suited for, physically. And yes, I KNOW some women are buff and ready, and I KNOW there are fabulous fighter pilots who are women, etc….but I believe those are anomalies….and we’re still trying to stick a round peg into a square hole. Which is probably not the best analogy to use in this case, but. (HAA!!)

This brings to mind what I heard from guys returning from the war during WW ll. They said when they were out with some ladies in Italy, when needed, the ladies would simply turn into an alley, squat, and relieve themselves, to which surprised our guys. It was part of their culture and the Italians thought nothing of it.
its the same thing with the Muslims and their women having to be covered up. It all depends on your culture and how you were raised.

Mal, I had a young lady on my USAF team, who if necessary, would ask me to pull the truck over so she could pee. Just like we did, behind a tree.
We did not expose ourselves to each other.
I have seen public urinals mounted on walls on side streets in Italy.

Ed and Mal…I hate to say this but, in Paris, men in 3 piece suits urinate against a building…not often, I only personally ‘sort of’ saw it once, but I heard it’s not that unusual. Amazing.

I totally agree…this is what ANIMALS DO. I will get BIG blow back for my following comments, but I mean it: ANIMALS breast feed while taking some apparent pleasure in exposing their breasts to children and other strangers…ANIMALS show their pregnancies in ‘public’ as our young women do now with shrink-wrap fabric stretched over nine months of growing baby….if ANIMALS could talk, they’d call pregnancies “BABY BUMPS” as some people do now, demeaning it to a stupid BUMP….
I will restrain myself over children born without both a daddy and a mommy….I know that’s touched most of our families….thankfully, not mine, there for the grace of God…but…
ANIMALS reveal naked bodies as they bathe themselves…human beings were good with that before the Fall, then shame came in; something we’re sorely LACKING today.

I met LeoTerrell (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leo_Terrell) today….I parked at iHop to meet a friend for lunch and he parked next to me….he got out and smiled and I said “Aren’t you…?” and he said “Yes!” And I said “it’s nice to meet you…even if you are a leftie” (as we both walked toward the restaurant). He said “I am NOT a Leftie, I didn’t vote for either in the election, I’m an Independent!” He said he agreed with me that the OJ parole was probably right…and that it shouldn’t at all be based by the murders. Not legally, anyway.
He said he’d been watching for 3 hours from some nearby studio…I’m not sure where…and I said “I saw Geraldo on Fox insistent on bringing up the Nicole/Goldman murders and how inappropriate I thought that was now, regarding this parole, legally, that’s not right’ ..
Terrell said he agreed with me. By the time we got into the restaurant I have to admit I said “I’m sorry, I did recognize you from FOX and other channels but I forgot your name” And he said “Leo Terrell…” then he stuck his hand out and asked for mine..said it again (it starts with a Z and is NOT Zelda or Zoe) and said “Nice to meet you!”
I said “I needed your name so I could brag on you at my blog! And he laughed and parted.
He is one heck of a nice guy, I have to say. Kind of fun to have that happen!
SO WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE OJ PAROLE? Anybody watch him this morning..? It was quite a performance, sincere or not.

OJ did his time for the crimes that resulted in his incarceration. I think most of us put away for 1st time theft and flashing a gun would get the amount of time he got. Don’t read any sympathy into this just logic.

Kid, He didn’t flash a gun, according to the witnesses and, today, the whole situation sounded so lame…and no, NOBODY would get 33 years for having gone into a hotel room (he didn’t break in, as said) and supposedly not knowing that one of his buddies had a gun…he didn’t even know it had been flashed until later… it’s a long story, but the story he and the friend/eye witness told today, didn’t add up to more than 3 years, tops, in my book.
Of course, I left that thinking “how much is he going to pay his friend for that testimony!?” !!!

Thanks for the refresher Z. At this point I’d like to see the Goldman’s clean out his bank account, but he gets 25k a month NFL pension and apparently that money is untouchable.
Eventually he will pay. If you don’t pay in this life, I have often thought you pay in the next. Why I’ve never cried over hard times in my life.

Kid, right…that’s what I’d heard…for some reason, the NFL Pension is untouchable..>BUT, they say most everything other than that CAN be taken by the Goldman family…Kidman family, too, I suppose???
and he’s apparently going to be given some sports show commentating….and a movie, books…I’d thought an excon can’t benefit from crime, but he apparently can??
ALSO; i liked a letter he’d written that was read this morning…to some politician who had books and other educational things brought into the prison and OJ said he saw men’s lives turned around by getting some education; they were proud, they wanted to discuss things with OJ that they’d never knew existed, etc.
I hope and pray OJ gets involved with education of prisoners….history, literature…not just training for jobs, you know? Good stuff.

Kid, Mark Fuhrman is on FOX saying OJ absolutely lied about the firearms…some say he told them to bring them…and he totally lied about the belongings…they apparently weren’t his at all and they were returned to those who did own them! But that this looked like it was a done deal….that Nevada just wanted to get rid of OJ. WOW.
I did have to laugh when OJ said he’d lived a ‘conflict free life’…considering he almost beheaded his ex wife…PLUS, I think I’ve said here before Nicole Kidman lived in MY apartment building and I’d see him there frequently and my landlady said “that man hits her”…before I realized she meant OJ and Nicole (who I never saw back then but did a day or two before her death, at the Starbucks across from Mezaluna, the restaurant Goldman left before he was killed.
It’s SO WEIRD to hear FOX mentioning “BUNDY DRIVE ” again….I LIVE 2 blocks from where Nicole was killed, ON Bundy Drive. Even during Customs on Europe trips customs people would ask “did you live near the OJ killings?” !!!

Z, being that close to the situations is kinda creepy/wild. I never go into analyzing the OJ situation much. When the cops called him to tell him his wife was dead, and he didn’t ask “What Happened?”. I concluded he was guilty and didn’t follow it much after that. No one blindly accepts that his wife is dead and says I’ll fly back right away, or whatever it was he said. Denial, Anger, etc etc.

Kid, we didn’t feel creepy beyond the first 24 hours….we got used to the frequent helicopter overheads, too! When they sold her condo after she died, the new owners were allowed to completely remodel the front of her unit….which was weird if you’re into architecture as I am…Palm trees have grown to where the difference isn’t obvious anymore.
\SO many coincidences:
I took a long walk while the trial was in session and ran into the guy who testified to the time line. We chatted, it was interesting.
Mr. Z and I were coming back from lunch when the freeway chase drove by us…
OJ rented an office in my uncle’s law office years before so I saw him there.
Nicole lived in my building in the late 70’s and I’d run into OJ late at night…when he’d be leaving.
Her red Corvette was parked behind my parking spot but I don’t think I ever saw her.
I saw the first copy video of GONE WITH THE WIND at his house.
Bob Kardashian was a dear friend and his brother’s my uncle’s best friend today.
After the trial and before this latest mess in Vegas, I’d see him at my fave Mexican restaurant…the waiters told me he usually has to come around 3:00 so nobody’s there and he can eat in peace but I saw him at other times..
There are more coincidences that kind of blow my mind but I can’t think of them now…it’s like some connection I have never understood..other than I went to a Rose Bowl game only once in my life and he played for USC and I saw him then.
He really was a very nice guy all those times I saw him…..but who else COULD have killed them? As Leo Terrell said today “PASSION AND ANGER are a mean combo” after I told Leo I’d known OJ and how nice he always seemed.
It was disheartening to me, and educational, to hear the testimony this morning during the parole hearing, then hear this afternoon where he’d so clearly LIED and still got parole.
I STILL think that, per the criteria the parole board operates on, he deserved parole, though.

I forgot to mention Mr Z and I were sitting outside at Starbucks a day or two before Nicole was killed…a tall blonde girl, built like a brick house, by the way, walked in, out of a white Ferrari or Mazeratti or something?, and I said to Mr. Z “Man, what guy would have the nerve to ask someone like HER out?” She had quite a figure, tho her face wasn’t much….very imposing. And then, of course, I saw her pic in the papers….awful time.
