William Booth“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.”

Copyright & Fair Use Statement I hereby assert that the purpose of this blog is educational/informative in matters of politics and faith. There is no commercial purpose to this blog. There is no revenue generated from any material posted here. I am not in competition with any news source, including any other on-line journal, and I have no interest in interfering with any person’s ability to earn an income as an author, journalist, photographer, or artist. This website contains some quotations and excerpts from copyrighted material. These uses fall well within the copyright doctrine of “Fair Use.” Section 107 of the United States Code, Title 17, specifies the conditions under which, “the fair use of a copyrighted work . . . for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching . . ., scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright.” It provides four considerations for determining fair use: (1) The purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes, (2) The nature of the copyrighted work, (3) The amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole, and (4) The effect of the use upon the potential market for, or value of, the copyrighted work. The use on this website of other material involves “criticism, comment, news reporting, scholarship or research” (a) The “purpose and character” of the website is not “commercial.” (b) The overwhelming majority of the material is the author’s own research and work. It is in no way a mere collection of others’ copyrighted works, nor is any material competitive with those sources. (2) The “nature of the copyrighted work” quoted is often “news” or “faith,” categories given lesser protection in fair use cases than works of fiction. (3) Most uses involve excerpts rather than entire works. Because the adverse financial impact on copyright owners is central to the purpose of copyright law, and the analysis of alleged violations, it’s relevant to note that, under factor (4), (a) no one in search of the quoted material would substitute this blog or book for the original source, (b) it is highly unlikely this website (or any material created from it) will ever have more than a de minimis impact on any of the copyright works’ potential market, and (c) to the extent it might do so, it would be far more likely be a positive, rather than a negative, impact (by drawing attention to the work, crediting it, and providing a source where it may be found). Finally, to the extent any copyright owner may wish, consideration will be given to all reasonable requests that copyright material be removed from this website. I will always endeavor to provide proper attribution to the source of another person’s work if I know it. If I do not know the source of incorporated work, I will state “source unknown.” I will happily credit any previously unknown source if their identity is made known to me in “blog comments.” -GeeeZ
Prayers for CI (not on the government dime ☺ ).
As for Bible Studies on the government dime…
Congress’ First Act: A Resolution to Pray
On September 6, 1774, the first act of the first session of the Continental Congress was to pass a resolution to open its next meeting with prayer. This prayer included reading Psalm 35 and the following words:
O Lord our heavenly Father, high and mighty King of kings and Lord of lords, who dost from thy throne behold all the dwellers on earth, and reignest with power supreme and uncontrolled over all the kingdoms, empires, and governments; look down in mercy, we beseech thee, on these American States … desiring to be henceforth dependent only on thee; to thee they have appealed for the righteousness of their cause; to thee do they now look up for that countenance and support which thou alone canst give; take them, therefore, heavenly Father, under thy nurturing care … Be thou present, God of wisdom, and direct the councils of this honorable assembly … that order, harmony, and peace may be effectually restored, and truth and justice, religion and piety, prevail and flourish amongst thy people … and crown them with everlasting glory in the world to come. All this we ask in the name and through the merits of Jesus Christ, thy Son, our Saviour. Amen! (Journals of Congress, via Morris, pp 246,249f; Federer, pp 136,137; Barton, p92)

Thoughts and prayers for CI. Texas can be a dangerous place because folks there carry their shotguns, deer rifles, and assorted hand weapons with them in their pickup trucks just in case somebody with a Notre Dame or University of Oklahoma bumper sticker crosses their path. Things haven’t been the same since they passed all those laws against drinking and driving, and closed the drive-in liquor stores.
Seriously, my God be with CI and know that the Gheeezer’s are thinking about him

Thank you CI. Whether we agree with each direction of the military by our leaders, your very presence stands in the gap between a peaceful life for us, and those who want to get our stuff. Bottom line. So thank you, blessings to your family, and safety/success in your deployment.

CI – Absolutely. CI has some control over events, as his family does not. It is harder, certainly at times, to be sitting at home hoping the doorbell never rings.
Pay no attention to the ‘special people’ Z. Or laugh at them as they have nothing to stand on to cause any change in that situation. Let them suffer and I for one enjoy their suffering.

ONLY read this if you can take it…this horrible accident is one I only post FOR PRAYERS, not to make anybody as unhappy as the facts made me…I can’t stop thinking about the mother…. just read and pray or just pray, thanks: https://www.yahoo.com/news/dad-finds-children-mother-law-190000787.html\
Kid, I wouldn’t kid ourselves…if you’re responding to the Bible Study in the WH with your second comment, they could very well get it thrown out of the “PUBLIC BUILDING”…of course, Reagan had them, and other presidents, but it’s TRUMP they have to hate the most.
And yes, I think it’s harder at home. How about the world wars without email, no phone calls…not hearing from a husband for a year? Unbelievable fear, 24/7.
FJ…LET”S HOPE SO!
Baysider…I hope you’re doing well.
Bob, very funnY!
Ed, a friend just got back from TX, near Ft Worth…where he and some friends went to the rodeo….he told me there was a singing of The Star Spangled Banner, then I'[m Proud to Be An American….flags all over, then a Christian prayer……and everyone was cheering, loving their country and their God.
Like it used to be everywhere…..let’s see how long TX can continue like this with the libs moving in there in droves.
Sadly, too, our textbooks are largely written/published in TX, and they’re turning much more liberal, too. (financed by largely Arab governments, by the way)

Z, They had snail mail in at least WWII, and it was air mail. Tons of letters between my Mom and Dad those 4 years.

Wow Z – I am truly honoured! So much so that I’m at a bit of a loss for words. That, coupled with me having a short break in a very long day……as much as I enjoy discussions on the roles of government and religion, I’ll hold my fire other than to say that I certainly have no issue with WH staff holding an informal and voluntary bible study.
I really appreciate the prayers and well wishes!

Kid, they waited weeks and probably months between letters…that would have killed me. I know there was snail mail….Some guy on Batan during the death marches wasn’t getting much mail! Lovely that there were ‘tons’ of letters between your folks! Do you have any of them?
And ya, I know there’s no separation in the constitution….but look how successful the atheists have been getting chaplains fired, etc., in the military! The Ten Commandments out of public buildings…etc I’m still surprised Moses is on some walls in Congress!

Mail to/from POW camps was likely poor if at all. But between non-POW and home I think it was pretty good. Someone with experience could clear that up. I don’t have the metrics but I think it was pretty decent between Europe and the USA.
Yes, they have ahd success because – activist judges. You go judge shopping you’ll always find one to accomodate which is why the SC was so important and still is.

Kid, would you admit communication wasn’t as fast as it is now and women waited weeks to hear their loved ones were okay? I know people who did…but yes, mail worked…if there weren’t raging battles or death marches, etc.
SC or not isn’t helping…10 Commandments are OUT.

Z, I don’t know. Had to be depent on plane space availability and scheduling. Probably a very variable answer.
Well, As long as we keep fighting the swamp, silly comments by Trump be damned, there is a chance. Trump is fighting a war wtih democrats, their media, most republicans. I give leeway. It’s America’s last chance. 10 Commandments could come back. The lunatic fringe is not that hard to beat if you want to. We have lately been giving in to PC, to blacks, to BLM, teo the Black caucus. Let’s put our boots back on and tell them to put up or shut up. They bring nothing of value to America and if they feel persecuted let them show it in indisputable terms. They all get much more than us normal folks and thet can all go to hell as far as I’m concerned.

🙂 MAIL STORY. How likely is this?
In the exodus from the Philippines in 1941 Col. Wendell Fertig’s plane went down on the wild and woolly island of Mindanao from which he organized and ran an ersatz resistance group during the war.
He gave a letter for the army & his wife to 2 buddies who escaped by small boat and – unbelievably – slipped through the Japanese net and the waves to make it to Australia. He told them to deliver that letter to army command with the intent they’d forward a portion to his wife. They didn’t. Instead, they just dropped it in an ordinary letter box. In Australia. In early 1942! Months later she got it in San Francisco and was able to pin his location for the army because of a private code between them.
Z, I’m ‘well’ – sooo much happening. We should share over a hamburger.

Oh NO!~ FOX is going to miss Bolling…he was a good one but I’m sure he’s done now, too..Ailes, O’Reilly, the Left tried it with Hannity but didn’t succeed,. and now who’d have thought it’d be Bolling, who’s supposed to be SO happily married, according to his remarks.
So sad.

Z, who knows about Bolling. Not I, but this is their favored method for silencing the right.
I have no idea what went on, but I will tell you this – I have had women in the workplace taunt me, tease me, waggle in front of me, and if I had responded to that, I could easily be substituted for a Bolling in this story. Just a little perspective from the other side. Not saying that happened.
I will tell you though at one place I worked, 4 women left and told me they could no longer work there knowing they couldn’t have me. Yea, I thought it was ridiculous too buit still.

More specifically, it is easy for a guy to think a woman is just fooling around and tossing loaded comments out there, and it is then easy for the guy to think, sure I’ll play, it doesn’t mean anything – all in fun then Whammo, you find yourself in court.

Btw – they don’t. clinton may have bleached-bit her server but every on of those emails travelled over the internet and believe me – Someone Has Them on backup
