Sunday Faith Blog

Can I put anything here on my faith blog today but PRAY FOR FLORIDA?

Yes, I can;  DON’T FORGET TEXAS AND LOUISIANA!   They’re not even remotely close to that nightmare being over….not even close.   And I can ask for prayers for an amazing family, down below….

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”  Romans 12:12

Also, I humbly ask for prayers for this family, and for the memory of this astonishing mother who gave up her life for her child……Pray for the motherless children and widower who’ll miss her forever.  Pray that sixth child,  “Life Lynn” is her name,  survives even though she was only over a pound when born, and pray her daddy will remind her how much her mother loved her and happily gave up her life for her……….God bless the DeKleyn family.   Meanwhile, girls are aborting babies because they’re “inconvenient,” as Obama put it.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”  John 15:13

Have a beautiful Sunday…….be grateful for all you’ve got……

Thank you for your prayers. It looks as though we’re going to need them. It’s 4 o’clock in the morning and I’m up and it’s quiet. Hell will be upon us before too long.

Please stay safe and prayers to all the good folks in harm’s way. And good point, Z, on not forgetting those in TX and LA. A horrible season, this, and we aren’t finished yet.

  4. It occurs to me that some people might say that this is a situation where a woman could have an abortion to protect the health of the mother but when you think of it this woman wasn’t even assured that the cancer treatment would save her own life but she knew that the birth would save her child’s life.

Cube, we’re praying for you all!! GOOD LUCK!!

Jerry, no, we’re not…and what a start to the season! the pix on TV are amazing.

    AOW….isn’t that the truth.

Ed, yes…it wasn’t guaranteed. Chemo was a guarantee, apparently, that her child would die.

By the way, this lovely mother had the same brain tumor type that John McCain has…..
And a VERY special, dear friend’s mother died of this…within days of diagnosis 20 years ago. They have better treatments now, but I’m astonished to see McCain traveling, etc.
This young woman was just diagnosed in April and just died.

Brother! This hurricane looks worse than I’d imagined…and it’s not 100% there yet. And the damage left behind looks like it’ll be worse than I’d imagined…..hours of what we’re seeing on TV will do such damage! I knew it’d be BAD winds and water, but………………wow.

400-mile wide storm. In local terms, that’s like from here in LA to San Francisco!

To quote from our lyrical prayer chair’s plea for our friend here, father “You who placed the sun, the moon and the stars in their places and cause rain to fall upon the land, You who speak to the raging sea and cause it to be still, do stretch forth Your Gracious Hand” and protect our friends and their neighbors through this terrific storm. God knows.

What puzzles me about these storms is I keep hearing where we’re having the worst storm in 59 years or 82 years, etc., but if we are truly having global warming, wouldn’t it be the worst on record? Otherwise, we would simply assume this is all part of a periodic cycle. That doesn’t mean it couldn’t be both. I’m having a problem being convinced either way.

Mal, I know what you mean…..the lib news is saying “Worst EVER”….others are saying “in 25 years, etc.” I often find that funny….”if it happened 100 years ago, how’s it global warming NOW?”

Baysider, she sure can write a prayer request, can’t she..

Pray for IMP, CUBE and BUNKERVILLE..I think Bocopro sounds safer than I’d feared…and our buddy Bob’s in Georgia, but that’d be a less strong situation and we’ll worry about that when it gets there!
Imp says the winds are UNBELIEVABLE…….and I had 2 emails, the difference between ‘windy’ to “man are there WINDS” was only about 45 minutes!

Happy for my friends with two beach houses at Jacksonville…I’m thinking they’re not going to get the brunt of this, as originally thought. I hope not!

As far as worst hurricanes on record I’m curious but, not so much as to look it up, as to whether they’re the worst hurricanes to make landfall as opposed to those that just died out in the middle of the ocean.

JUST FYI, and I’m sorry many of you won’t be back to see this…..sorry !!

At church today, there was a couple who are missionaries living in Sub Saharan Africa…mostly West Coast….they used to live there for years but now live in Spain and still support young missionaries in Africa and the Middle East.

They said today that 10-20 years ago, you’d get maybe 2 a year deciding to follow Christianity…….today, with the Assad stuff in Syria and ISIS, they’re hearing hundreds of Muslims are converting….one missionary told them “You can’t believe how good Assad and ISIS have been for those souls!”

I’d hoped something like this was happening but it was good to hear it IS happening….maybe it’s only a few in a HUUUGE group of Islam, but it’s a start. AND if ‘some’ actually mouth out loud that they’re not Muslims anymore, which is a dangerous thing to do, we can only imagine how many more have that in their hearts but are afraid to talk about it.

It was a fascinating thing to hear them talk…

Ed, good info about Jacksonville….scary since my friends’ homes are smack on the ocean.

The thing we know about this hurricane is its SIZE is apparently unprecedented….I think all Florida cares about right now is that which has made landfall and is wreaking havoc as I type!! have you watched some of the news video?

  14. Okay I was curious and I looked it up. Here is a list of hurricanes greater than Irma, but perhaps not in Damage Done.

  15. I have watched some of the news video but frankly I think of it as the Malaysian airliner coverage. I don’t need to see every last minute shift and change in the pattern.
And that is very encouraging to read what those missionaries said. I know a guy who is a missionary to S●m_lia and it is very slow going.

As I said above, he may not live long at all. I was a little surprised that Jake Tapper would say “I hope this isn’t our last interview…a lot of people want to interview you.”
I found that a little insensitive, don’t you?

Ed, I don’t know if “is this the worst?” is very important. It’s very, very clearly a really big hurricane covering a very vast swath of land and waterfront.
And no, I don’t think the world’s news has to entirely STOP as it somehow has according to the television cable channels. Ridiculous. I mean, it’s terribly important and going to do the state of Florida obvious damage…but….I believe in 24/7, there’s time to talk about the folks trying to rebuild in TX and other important stories.

And yes, it’s slow going…..but that’s apparently changing.

Ed, could you please remind me where I said this hurricane is caused, or is bigger, due to climate change? It’s a fact that it’s bigger , as was Houston, because it sat over warmer waters for a while….

Imp, Cube and Freethinke are hunkered down in their homes sending me emails ….real tough stuff outside their homes…But wait…am I defending my opinion that this is a bad hurricane? WHAT?
By the way, it’s since 1921 that Tampa was hit with this big a hurricane.
As I said above, if it was that big then, how does one hang this on climate change…and where did I ??

The only point I frequently make about climate change n (as I said above, at 12:46) is how it’s believers are going beyond acceptable to ‘fix it’…we can’t have the restrictions we have because they’re not helpful and they’re destroying our economy. That’s my take on climate change, folks. Never have said anything different.

Am watching Steve Bannon on 60 Minutes and am I glad I put it on….first, when did Charlie Rose start sounding like Blanche DuBois on Streetcar Named Desire? He’s never EVER had quite the Southern accent he’s using tonight…making me giggle…”where’d THAT come from?”

Bannon’s very first TV interview…he’s WAY WAY smarter than I’d thought he was and a HUGE Trump supporter still…and everyone who hates the media should have watched this because you’d be HAPPY FOLKS at how Bannon’s pinning Rose’s ears back…
Also, it’s THE singular most biased bunch of questions I’ve maybe ever heard from an interviewer, too, which is going some. SO hateful, SO accusatory…astonishing.

Tomorrow, Rose will get kudos and they’ll cherry pick Bannon’s comments and make him look like a total moron; Wait for it.

    He is NO MORON

For that matter, depending on where you are, they all are bad.
