Deneuve Nails it…..And I believe she is right

I have always found Catherine Deneuve gorgeous….maybe a bit too gorgeous to be truly interesting-looking is what I’ve often said.  Yes, THAT gorgeous.

I’ve also been told while living in Paris, that she is very kind and friendly when you see her.

But I never thought she was THIS SMART, THIS BRAVE.

Having complimented her for that stance, must I really add that I feel swine like Harvey Weinstein and other truly horrible men who put women at risk in really ugly ways MUST be confronted and STOPPED?  But do I think this has turned into a situation where men won’t even compliment a pretty dress or hair do?  Yes, and I think that is WRONG, almost inhuman.

THOUGHTS?

She came up with a term I’m plagiarize and use: “faux puritanism.”

Man, that skewered it and lit it up in a blinding strobe for me.

But I gotta tell ya (a snippet from today’s rant) that we will continue to hear the sounds of one entertainer’s hand slapping another’s back for reading words someone else has written along with the more subdued fumbling of producers’/directors’ hands groping wannabe starlets’ nether regions.

Nothin’s gonna change in Hollywood . . . especially the levels of holier-than-thou condescension and sense-of-entitlement hypocrisy.

  2. I read this yesterday and thought that what she is really defending is not the right to flirt, but a culture of sexual libertinism.

  5. We’ve now reached the point that not being a part of #MeToo makes that non-participant a pariah to be vilified. Sheesh.

I’m surprised that Weinstein is the poster-boy for piggish behavior rather than Bill Clinton, which appears to prove that most Americans have the memory of a gnat.

I just read that Rosie Odonnel’s twin brother Kalid Sheik Mohammed (supposed 9-11) mastermind is complaining about being sexually abused by Gitmo Guards. Thought that was hilarious in a certain way.
Well, good job Gitmo guards !

FIRST, THANK YOU, EVERYBODY…..I had forgotten the link! It’s there now, but I am sitting here smiling that you were kind enough to read my post and LOOK for what the HECK I was talking about! I’m actually kind of touched!
    The link’s there now! GEEEZ!

and all good comments….I think Deneuve and anybody who speaks about this is courageous because this has to STOP. Obviously sickos like Weinstein and Charlie Rose and Lauer, who demand sexual favors and won’t take ‘no’ for an answer need to be castigated, but….
And that’s the thing; WOMEN: LEARN HOW TO SAY NO!!! And don’t put yourself in those situations that could put you in Weinstein’s BATHROOM!! 🙂

    KID, “O’Donnell’s twin” that’s hilarious…and WHAT A STORY!!!! Go, GUARDS 🙂
By the way, imagine coming on to THAT FACE?!!!

Yeah, I read about this too. “But do I think this has turned into a situation where men won’t even compliment a pretty dress or hair do? Yes, and I think its WRONG. almost inhuman.” Agreed. We have become a country of extremes and carry things too far, like we have with sexual harassment, which tends to diminish the original legitimate complaint like with Harvey Weinstein.

    @Mustang,

“I’m surprised that Weinstein is the poster-boy for piggish behavior rather than Bill Clinton, which appears to prove that most Americans have the memory of a gnat.”

Yes not only that but Clinton seemed to be treated by some hypocritical liberal Women as nothing more than some sort of cute rascal. If anything, that just lead to embolden more “piggish behavior” and certain acts of sexuality were no longer considered “sexual” (I don’t have to explain that do I?). Liberalism drifts farther from common sense and truth daily! Honestly some commentary I hear from the Left sounds like pure Si-Fi !

@JMB. I am compelled to say that when people are forced to defend their fantasies their dialogue can get very abstract and seasoned with anger.

I agree with Ms. Deneuve. The dance between men and women has been going on since we were put onto this planet. It’s not going to stop and it shouldn’t stop. What has to be prosecuted as a crime is rape, stalkers, and men who retaliate to a ‘no’ answer, etc., but not the sometimes inartful fumblings of a man who is attracted and doesn’t do a very suave job of it. I wish I had a dollar for every time I turned down a proposition. I’d be a lot richer today.
