What a way to start the week! FABULOUS!

I LOVED THIS ARTICLE MAYBE MORE THAN ANY I’VE READ.

The link is worth reading but, sadly, the original WSJ article is blocked (it’s fabulous and longer than the link I had to substitute above).  If you do subscribe there, you might find it…under “Hillary Staffer attends CPAC conference”

I believe the article I finally had to post because the WSJ article won’t open again for me doesn’t include this, which I really loved:

“Where some saw a circus, I saw a big tent. I spoke with Jennifer C. Williams, chairman of the Trenton, N.J., Republican Committee and a transgender activist. Twenty feet away, I spoke with a religious leader who opposes same-sex marriage. While a panelist touted capital punishment, several attendees crowded the Conservatives Concerned About the Death Penalty booth. Hours after President Trump recast Oscar Brown Jr. ’s song “The Snake” as an ugly anti-immigrant parable, several influential Republicans were asking me, a naturalized citizen, how they can support my startup.”

ENJOY!

(thanks, Cleve)

  1. The free and open exchange of ideas is most often frowned upon by the Left.
Thus the Soviet inspired term “Politically Correct” speech.
    Annafi Wahed better watch out.
If her friends read this, she could end up ostracized by her crowd.

Reminds me of the snowflake “journalist” who went with great trepidation and contempt to a shooting range and was introduced to target shooting: “That was fun!” he said upon leaving.

Then that verse in Johnny Cash’s “Boy Named Sue” lyric after the “I’ve fought tougher men, but I really can’t remember when” line

“Now you just fought one hell of a fight
And I know you hate me, and you got the right
To kill me now, and I wouldn’t blame you if you do
But ya ought to thank me, before I die
For the gravel in yer guts and the spit in yer eye
‘Cause I’m the son-of-a-bitch that named you Sue”
Well what could I do? What could I do?
I got all choked up and I threw down my gun
And I called him my Pa, and he called me his son
And I came away with a different point of view . . .”

    And of course Mikey:

See . . . the point is that les leftistes couldn’t survive without the staunch right which provides revenue for them to fritter away on unicorn feed and pixie dust and defends their right to remain as ill-informed and demanding as they like. Conservatives, on the other hand, could get along quite nicely without 90% of liberals. (Gotta keep a few around in case things get boring)

  3. From the article:

She concluded that the stereotype of conservatives is that they are very closed-minded, but what she came across were people who “listened to my arguments before defending their own positions.”

    Love it!

I’ve heard the argument that the GOP needs a larger tent … you know, to welcome minorities, sexual deviants, or whatnot. Why must the GOP widen the tent? Well, to get more votes, of course. But then, how does a principled individual accept behaviors that insult his or her core beliefs? Anyone willing to give up who they are, what they believe, how they comport themselves in society -all for the sake of enlarging the GOP tent, become unprincipled. They lose their soul. They become immoral. Is this really what the GOP should do-become a mirror image of the DNC? Just asking …

Mustang, hard to imagine every Republican must be white and straight and believe exactly as you believe. Minorities shouldn’t be welcomed? The tent is open to those who may not look like us but who obviously share most of the ideology.
That Republicans were willing to be kind to someone who thought she’d be hated is a good thing. That perhaps she’ll influence others not to buy the crap our media constantly gives, that we’re hateful and non inclusive, is also a good thing.]

Ed and AOW! Of course that’s the fear!! And if you Google, you’ll see HotAir does a hatchet job to her opinions. A very smarmy, sarcastic and unhelpful piece…of COURSE she won’t be liked…a no brainer!!

Bocopro…Good one! Yes, we don’t need THEM as much as they need US, that’s FOR SURE.

Mal, the Left hates this….working together isn’t part of the thinking of a lot of people…on both sides. And, sometimes it feels like the Right has to give in to fit this hideous culture America’s drowning from…..Mustang’s right there………..must WE accept and accept..?

BUT, to work together,k something sure has to happen…and the Left is doing everything to work against it.

The left of course does not want non-Conservatives to think Conservatives are by majority decent open minded, non-racist/etc people. Not to say the GOP is Conservative.
We’re on step 4 and just around the corner from numba 5…..

Here are the Six Steps to totalitarian rule and control of society

1.) Verbally attack, demonize, dehumanize. (Any right-wing voice on TV, radio, internet)

2.) Physically attack – beat heads – through “protests” and “demonstrations”

3.) Go after people’s money and livelihood: Attacks on Prominent Talking heads and conservative websites through doxxing, demonetizing, shadow-banning, blocking, etc.

4.) Silence those that dare to speak out. See YouTube – Facebook of hundreds of conservative voices

5.) Jail the ones that won’t conform to narratives. See hate crimes.

6.) Kill anyone that opposes. See Communism, National Socialism, etc.

Imagine censoring PRAGER? As if they say ANYTHING truly offensive? They do NOT. MY GOD, this is getting so freakin’ OUT OF HAND…

I like the idea of the message getting out that we’re not racist hate-mongers and that we are people who, as Wahed said, “listened to my arguments before defending their own positions.” That’s a great message.

I’m all for a bigger tent as long as those who join don’t expect us to change our platform to accommodate every ill-advised democrat position. We might as well be democrats if we did that. The trick is to engage them to re-think bad policies and accept better policies.

Z, Yes, I’ve read twitter bannings, suspensions for conservatives. A guy at work reported a facbeook comment physically threatening Trump and got suspended for a week. Just reported, and he tells me libtards post things full of profanity against people on the right and nothing happens to them. old zuckenberg is dangerous for America. Well like the warden in Cool Hand Luke “If this is what America wants this is what America gets.”

Z, I feel like you are totally misrepresenting what Mustang said. Where did he say that everyone “must be white and straight” or that gays, Muslims and Mexicans need not apply? I don’t pretend to speak for anyone but myself, but the way I read the comment was that we should never compromise our core values as constitutional conservatives. At least that’s how I think of it. For example, I really haven’t anything in common with an atheist abortion apologist.and wouldn’t get warm fuzzies if they came to my birthday party.

Jerry, Mustang wrote it’s wrong “to welcome minorities, sexual deviants, or whatnot.”
Straight versus gay (sexual deviants)…White versus “minorities”… He doesn’t want the tent enlarged. Jerry..How would you translate “minorities”?

Of course I agree with you, and Mustang WAS also very strong and correct in saying we should NEVER compromise our core values….but we can’t keep gays out if they share our core values.
I believe Mustang has looked on homosexuality as sexual deviancy and that’s what he meant…not just pedophiles, necrophiliacs, etc!

Cube is right…and probably speaks for all of us….I LOVE what she wrote here “I’m all for a bigger tent as long as those who join don’t expect us to change our platform to accommodate every ill-advised democrat position. We might as well be democrats if we did that. The trick is to engage them to re-think bad policies and accept better policies.:”

    BRAVO!

Kid, we MUST do something about this….anybody on that at ALL in our gov’t? I have heard a little but not much; we just keep letting them get away with destroying America in these ways.

I can’t speak for Mustang either but I think some slack is in order. Let me say it this way. In a comment section, I commented that “it is reported that only 10% of blacks had integrated”. A black female replied and talked about how she and her friends are having their hair straightened so as to better integrate(jist of it). I replied, “No! Integration only means being educated or learning a trade, working and making a better life for you and your family and supporting America’s basic culture of liberty and freedom. I could care less if you have an afro or not or otherwise express your black culture any other way you want. Meaningless to Conservatives and we appreciate many of the things black folks bring to our country in the form of arts, foods, music, etc, etc”

I can’t imagine Mustang would feel any different than that.

as far as my own feelings, I don’t want to be confronted with transgenders, gays, atheists, and others that come into this conversation. I don’t want them dead, I just don’t want to hear about them or have a Conservative based political effort celebrate them outside of telling them do what you want, just leave us out of it. They are not participants in a healthy society. A healthy society is a male and a female raising children to be contributors and productive to the American way. THe best way on the face of the Earth. The shining city on the hill. Mankind’s last best hope (for freedom and liberty) Not so shiny these days, but let’s see how it goes.

    I totally get that..

I lean more to the side of the writer, and Cube, when I say this article made me feel that at least ONE liberal realized we’re not the close minded, unwelcoming nuts the media paints us out to be….. and that’s a good thing.
