Sunday Faith Blog

Today I want us PRAYING FOR TRUMP, which means PRAYING FOR AMERICA:  that the tariffs work and don’t hurt farmers, that North Korea stops the game it’s now playing, that the Donald Trump diaper balloon in London pops on something sharp before he arrives and has to see it, that meetings with Russia go well and Trump doesn’t trust Putin too much (let’s not have another Geo. Bush experience),  that the American people start to realize what our media’s trying to do (I believe they are waking up), that the Dems keep up the socialism thing and we keep showing how ridiculous their drumbeat really is, that Trump finds solid, smart people to take positions in the White House and that they find the LEAKERS, that ….well, you all know….

On the subject of OPTIMISM, HERE is something Kid emailed me, a website that’ll feel like you’ve gone to the river for a cold drink of water……..such a RELIEF.  I hope this helps your mood..  It does mine!

“The LORD is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble, And He knows those who take refuge in Him.”  Nahum 1:7

THIS IS FASCINATING…the faith of Judge Amy Barrett…….hmmmm

bunkerville…I’m hoping we’re dead wrong about Kavanaugh, actually! That the rave reviews he’s getting from legal minds on TV the last two days who have/had nothing to do with the Vince Foster investigation (young and excellent law profs who know him, etc.) or the Deep State, are right and he’s an excellent candidate! FINGERS CROSSED!! OPTIMISM!

For those of you who haven’t seen the information I allude to in my post and comment above, please see two pieces Bunkerville wrote on her site about Kavanaugh ….it’s interesting stuff.

Am hearing Kavanaugh might be ‘a little more concerned what DC thinks of him rather than doing the right thing…..more like Roberts…” let’s hope not

You guys don’t know my dear friend CC (sadly for you!) but she emailed me this email and said “This guy could play Jack Reacher!” and she’s right…ooolllalala! (She reads GeeeZ but doesn’t comment…encourage her :-))

I LOVE this commercial and I think you will, too!

  6. Mal says:

I must admit I don’t know any of these candidates and am relying solely on Trumps vetting of them in making his final decision. Again, perhaps I’m placing too much faith in his ability and wisdom, but given his track record, I feel pretty confident he will make the right choice. Time will tell.

  7. Mal says:

    ……………………and a little praying can’t hurt, either!!

  8. Kid says:

Good list Z. I read someone made a big SadiqKahn balloon to counter. Something like the balloon wont affect Trunp any more than sine kid yelking sn insult.

  9. Sparky says:

With ya all the way my friend. Also, our Church and other Christians across the Country are stopping to pray every evening at 9 PM EST for President Trump and our Country and what’s on your list. PLEASE spread the word and join us. The only way to stop the Socialists / Communists is TO PRAY on our faces to Jesus Christ our LORD! HE is our only hope. ❤

Sorry, didn’t quote correct Scripture: 🙂
II Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

  11. Baysider says:

I pray a LOT for the president, his family and wisdom. I’m reading Three Days in Moscow now. It’s about Reagan. He wasn’t concerned what DC thought of him, but did what he knew was right (we’re at the “Tear Down This Wall” speech). I stopped to pray that this will be the kind of judge Mr. Trump picks. Lord knows, this is the moment for which we put him in office. May we have the Lord’s mercy!

  12. Baysider says:

    And the commercial is 👍

  13. geeez2014 says:

Baysider, did you see the links I posted in a comment above about Kavanaugh, from Bunkerville’s blog?
I’m not hugely interested in reading the Moscow book, though I LOVE Baer, but I remember hearing the writer of the TEAR DOWN THIS WALL speech…charming.

Sparky, such a good verse for these times, isn’t it. I love it. Revival is crucial. But…

Kid, there’s also the fact that Trump said “…he would have slept with Princess Diana in a radio interview recorded just three years after her death, but he joked that he would have had the British royal get an HIV test first. :” there’s more but I can’t stand it.
That might not have thrilled the Royal Family.

  14. kid says:

I certainly hope we’re not to the point of actually being afraid of putting a Christian up for SC judge.

    That’s be ridiculous.

  15. geeez2014 says:

Kid, isn’t that WILD? Remember Feinstein questioned Bennett about the ‘dogma’ of her Catholicism! Oh, yes, they’re afraid of Christians because Christians might be less in favor of killing babies, dontchaknow! AND, of course, many are Conservative……..can’t have that :-)!!

  16. Baysider says:

Yes! I read Bunkerville’s links. Disturbing. And I don’t especially recommend the Moscow book. I misunderstood it was all about the summits with the Russians which I was quite interested in. Nevertheless, it’s a great reminder that it takes a person with a firmly grounded philosophy to not be beguiled by being like by the DC glitterati (as, say, John McCain appears to be). Justice Thomas does not “do” the entertainment circuit. That may be because he’s more a loner, so it doesn’t mean you can’t be social. But if you live to get the invitations … uh-oh. Reagan had his imperfections, but stayed the course of his values without DC rubbing off on him. The book amplifies that, and called me to pray for someone of like mind for the SCOTUS (something like “Dear God, please take 30 years off of Janice Rogers Brown.”

  17. geeez2014 says:

Baysider, it is disturbing, and nobody’s talking about that AT ALL. There’s something Kavanaugh wrote about, I think, healthcare, that didn’t go well with Conservatives, but his fans are quick to ‘poo poo’ that…who knows?

Justice Thomas is the kind of man who gets a letter gushing over how amazing his autobiography is and writes back a hand written thank you on SCOTUS stationery…that would be ME. I cherish it.

Re Brown, anybody Obama nominates is questionable……..

  18. geeez2014 says:

The woman who was exposed to the nerve agent in England has died…WOW. And she might be totally innocent and just touched something…………scary times.

  19. Baysider says:

Obama and Brown? I’m sure he despised her. Well, she was one jurist I could vote for with enthusiasm (In Calif we vote for state Supreme Court justices). And I read many of her opinions with entertainment and satisfaction.

Re: that woman. We have no guarantees to this life. Very sad.

  20. geeez2014 says:

He did despise her……Black and not playing ball with his side?

Baysider! “no guarantees to this life” sure doesn’t negate the sadness, does it!! Totally innocent…VERY VERY sad.

  21. kid says:

Quick note on McStain. Before a week or so ago, I judged McPain to be a real POS. Then sometime last week I read he was the lead force behind the IRS targeting Tea Party/Conservative groups. Now I’m sure he is much worse than I knew to this point.

  22. “Remember Feinstein questioned Bennett about the ‘dogma’ of her Catholicism! ”
Barrett is a member of “charismatic” Catholic group “People of Praise”.
    Charismatics are catholic pentecostals.
Pentecostals, like myself, believe that God gives us personal direction, either through a relevant Scripture or personal revelation such as a prophetic utterance.
That can be a scary notion to a non-believer. It’s even scary to believers.
I can imagine that the fear on the part of some is that Barrett will follow the voices in her head, instead of the voices on the left. That was an attempt at humor with a bit of truth thrown in.
    I would rather see Kethledge.

  23. kid says:

I have to add that my understanding of the founding of our nation made an important point. Freedom Of religion as well as Freedom From religion. Any decent constitutionalist could never force a religious dogma on the nation.

  24. geeez2014 says:

Kid, and Barrett’s said exactly that.
Still, I don’t think we can leave our faith outside our voting booths, can we. Our pasts, our families, our faith, etc., INFORM us, and I believe it’s impossible to not be affected in some ways.
A Justice must have to work HARD to focus on the point and make a decision!
It was Freedom OF Religion the founders wanted…it’s aetheist types who interpret it as Freedom FROM Religion.. Our Founders wanted to be able to follow their religion, but believed all should be able to follow their own religious leadings…or not. So, folks can have freedom FROM religion….but they’ve taken it recently to mean our country shouldn’t have religion behind anything. that just doesn’t work. yet.

Ed, I need to be careful how I say this, but I have to admit her group gives me pause.
Yes, when we hear “voices in our head,” it doesn’t really put most of our minds at rest 🙂
I’m more for Kethledge, too, and now there’s Hardiman, I believe is his name.

    We’ll know tomorrow!

  25. kid says:

Z, we can’t leave any of our beliefs outside the voting booth regardless what it has to do with.

What you typed in regards freedom From religion confuses me as it seems to make both arguments at the same time and also simultaneously. I believe the country was founded on the principle that you need not follow any religion, only the laws of the land. I think you feel the same way.

Anyway, given this constant struggle betwixt good and evil, I favor Amy Barret. There are a great many things propagating evil in America beside abortion. moslems come to mind.

  26. geeez2014 says:

Kid, yes, founded on that we don’t need to follow any religions….the laws are what counts.
But I meant that we should be all free to practice our religions, as the founding fathers hoped….and that freedom FROM religion means almost a prohibition of religion, or at least Christianity, like the Left seems to prefer.

I like Barret, too, the group she’s in is ‘out there…’ Still, she has every right.

  27. kid says:

Life, Liberty, Pursuit of Happiness (without stepping on others) Seems pretty simple don’t it ? 🙂

  28. geeez2014 says:

Kid, yes. Not sure if you’re disagreeing or agreeing with me!
A sticky wicket is things like the 10 Commandments on Federal grounds, public grounds…should they come down (Freedom FROM Religion) or stay (Freedom OF Religion…)…

Sadly, ALL religions are welcome because of our founding fathers…I say ‘sadly’ only because one’s adherents want to kill us, so I’m thinking that’s not a religion and people who want death to ‘pigs’ (us) need to go! (islam)

  29. kid says:

We just need a definition of what a religion is. islam ain’t it.

    I think we agree.

  30. geeez2014 says:

so what about the 10 commandments….technically, re the Constitution, I’m thinking that if Muslims wanted to have the Koran represented in concrete outside a courthouse, they could do it………..”either it all stays, or it all goes” ??

Not that I’d be at all happy for that, of COURSE. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that; there was a bit of a purge a few years ago, but it seems to have gone away!

  31. But our country was founded in Biblical principles, not koranical, and the monument celebrate our founding principles.

  32. bunkerville says:

Thanks for the shout out….we supposedly had a couple of years to vett these fine folks…now everyone is running around with their true CVs and rulings and writings……think we drank the kool-aid.

  33. geeez2014 says:

Ed, yes, that goes without saying, or should. We must be girded strongly to stand up for what this country was founded upon……….All sides presented need to be discussed……and our founders wanted all religions safe to practice here. Don’t forget Obama’s quote, something like “We are no longer a Christian nation”…get ready.

Bunkerville, I’m not hearing of any surprises in the rulings, writings, etc….I’m sure they were vetted or Trump wouldn’t have been able to come up with the list he had before his inauguration.

  34. geeez2014 says:

ED AND KID, I posted this on today’s COMMENTS in case you didn’t come back here, but it really works with our discussion last night:

“The Constitution is clear that religious faith may not be used to prevent an American from holding office. But there is another faith now, a strident faith, that of the left and anyone who stands in its way is to be marked.”

Ed and Kid…pursuant to our conversation about Freedom of Religion…v Freedom FROM Religion, a cousin just sent this link:
It includes the quote above, and I believe that’s where we are today….You are MARKED if you say “But the 10 Commandments are what our country was FOUNDED upon!” etc.
It’s so wrong…it’s so dangerous……’s so Liberal (not in the classical sense)

  35. geeez2014 says:

Guys, if you respond…please respond there, on my post for today. Thanks!

  36. Mal says:

Our country may not have been found on Christianity, but it WAS founded on the belief in God. God and the Ten Commandments are etched in stone all over D.C. so that we never forget that.

  37. geeez2014 says:

I think 2 of our founding fathers are said to have been more Deist than Christian……but the huge majority were Christian.
