LeBron v Trump…….take your corners and come out fighting! But come out together…

THIS ARTICLE is a good one…LeBron James and how President Trump uses race.

“James did not hesitate to call out President Donald Trump for his penchant of using race as a wedge issue in his politicking.”

Can anybody remember a time when Obama used race as a wedge issue in politicking?  Sure you can!  A lot of them!

Trump didn’t distance himself from David Duke during the 2016 campaign and that was wrong.  LeBron gets that right.   But for LeBron to consider Trump racist for supposedly jumping to conclusions in Charleston, Ferguson, etc., when Obama started a LOT of this whole RACE THING we’ve got goin’ by jumping to his  own ridiculous and biased conclusions in the Henry Gates break-in which prompted that stupid ‘beer summit?’

Actually, it’s a shame LeBron says he won’t ‘sit across from the president at a table’ because his interview isn’t all bad, in my opinion.   Here’s a large part of that linked article…I want it here so all of you see it:

Do I know that Trump’s “both sides” reaction in the wake of the white supremacist violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, was born out of some sort of inchoate racism? No, I don’t. But what I do know is that equating peaceful protesters with white supremacists emboldens those who hold bigoted views. It affords them some semblance of credibility; the President said the counterprotesters were just as responsible as we are for this violence!

And, I don’t know that Trump’s baffling unwillingness to distance himself from Klansman David Duke during the 2016 campaign — Trump initially suggested he wasn’t familiar enough with Duke to offer an opinion about his endorsement — is the result of a deep-seated racism within the President. But I do know that by not forcefully condemning Duke from the get-go, Trump allowed the likes of Duke to appropriate his message and his campaign for their purposes.

The point here is that by playing in the swamp of racism — and weaponizing race for political gain — Trump has created a racial climate in this country in which people who hold those toxic views feel more empowered than ever to voice them without fear. Actions have consequences. If you talk about race — from Charlottesville to Colin Kaepernick to the Golden State Warriors — the way Trump has, there will be an element of people in the country who use those words as cover for their hateful views. If the President can say it — or suggest it — why can’t I? goes the thinking. If he’s not willing to condemn us, then why should we apologize for what we think and believe?”

Z: I agree with some of this… I can see how LeBron would think like he does.  BUT, I also think politics is ugly and Trump may have ignored Duke because Duke DID bring in supremacist votes….Obama ignored Jeremiah Wright’s horrible rantings and ravings in his own church every Sunday because it played to the Black RACIST votes!!  Right?

Ya, no side’s innocent of playing this way.  I even hear Libs on TV saying it was a shame Trump uninvited sports teams to the White House, when it was the team members still coming were down to about two!!  How would that have looked?

Do you think Trump and LeBron could make a difference together?  I REALLY DO.

  1. Do you think Trump and LeBron could make a difference together?

I have serious doubts about that. Isn’t LeBron a member of the Cult of Obama?

  2. Kid says:

LeBron could make a difference because a lot of black folks pay attention to him. Some of the problems with that idea is that he is a hands up don’t shoot incite person. DJT will never convince LeBron that mike brown got shot becuase he tried to kill the police officer with his bare hands.
A grand jury didnt find any reason why the officer should even be put on trial.

He doesn’t understand that Trump had to cancel the GSW White House visit because too many said they weren’t coming and so what do you do, hold a big portion of the day schedule open in case some of them show up? Course not. Cancel the meeting and plan something else.

That he doesn’t understand some of these basic things makes me doubt that he’d suddenly come up with some positive message about DJT. There was a black guy working here a couple years ago. Stand up guy, college grad, has a family, works hard. I drove him to work for a year or so when his car broke down as he lived about a 10th of a mile out of the way from my place to and from work. We talked about a lot. He ran Everything through the race filter.

Last time I tlaked to him he said he’d like to have obama be the president forever. I’d put LeBron in that same category. I don’t see either one of them changing.

This Black race thing is getting so yesterday. I would suggest it would be in their best interest to get on board, get what they can, because the train has left the station for the new BBF Hispanics and Muslims… All Aboard…

  4. CHUCK ADAMSON says:

if you think Pres. Trump has or had any liking of David Duke, you are as dumb as a box of rocks. Trump disavowed Duke multiple times. You think a man, like Trump, would ever consider involving himself with someone so toxic The thought that Trump is such a poor judgement of a person, is laughable.
The only reason it became an issue is the Media thought they had a GOTTCHA. THE MEDIA STILL CLAIM THE SAME A YEAR AFTER THE INCIDENT. There are those who hate our President so much, they will say ANYTHING, if it reflects poorly on him. Lebron is a BASKETBALL STAR, NOT QUITE AN INTELLECTUAL GIANT, JUST AN ATHLETIC GIANT. Yet you give his words the same value as our President. Shame on you!!!

  5. geeez2014 says:

Chuck, I have no idea who you are or how your comment made the blog without going thru moderation, but if you think I said anywhere that Trump agreed with David Duke, the box of rocks line doesn’t fit ME. Trump disavowed Duke after he stumbled over a question about him. That doesn’t mean he agrees with anything about Duke or his followers.

Bunk…BBF? All aboard the gravy train……$$$

Kid, yes, LeBron could definitely make a difference…and you’re right, he’s a BIG Obama fan, of course. But I think a conversation could help…in private….you make several good points. Glad you agree with me…how could Trump let the team come when approximately 3 were actually coming?
I just can’t believe how much worse this whole race thing became during Obama’s presidency; I can’t help thinking it’s purposeful, Kid.

    AOW….talk helps.

Kid, don’t want to disable my ad blocker so I can’t read that article; I SURE LIKE THE TITLE I SAW, HOWEVER! Is this getting much press coverage? I’ll look around…THANKS FOR THE LINK.

Z, the race division was definitetly purpposeful and I’d say there were 2 reasons: Hurt the country by setting race relations back pre-1960 and to try to get the blacks back on the democrat voting plantation. They want black people focused on white people and race issues, not on what the democrats are Not doing for them.
Now we have the war on white people, heterosexuals, and Christians.

OT: Can you believe “dem senators” are actually trying to sell the idea that Kavanaugh will cancel elections and make DJ Trump King ?? How stupid are democrats anyway? Will we ever know.

  9. Kid says:

Z, You can disable it for that site only, and you may as well because the site doesn’t look any different to me with or without ads.

Anyway, here it is since it isn’t very long:

A black pastor who’s a longtime supporter of President Trump is saying that Mr. Trump is more “pro-black” than former President Barack Obama, the nation’s only black president.

Pastor Darrell Scott of Cleveland, co-founder of Mr. Trump’s National Diversity Coalition, is one of several dozen inner-city faith leaders working with the White House on prison reform and other initiatives to help urban America.

“This is probably going to be … the most pro-black president I’ve seen in my lifetime,” Mr. Scott said Wednesday in an Oval Office meeting with the president. “This president actually wants to prove something to our community, our faith-based community and our ethnic community. The last president didn’t feel like he had to.”

Mr. Scott said of Mr. Obama, “He felt like he didn’t have to prove it. He got a pass. This president, this administration is probably going to be more proactive regarding urban revitalization and prison reform than any president in my lifetime.”

During the meeting, Mr. Trump discussed the administration’s prison reform efforts, including a bipartisan prison reform bill passed by the House in May.

Bunkerville..thanks…it took me a while to remember what BFF was and now there’s another :-)!!

Kid, “Hurt the country by setting race relations back pre-1960 and to try to get the blacks back on the democrat voting plantation.” Absolutely NO doubt about it…no doubt. And Obama made this work…very well.

I am wary of this Black pastor thing mainly because I don’t want to hear how “more Blacks are imprisoned” because they’re BLack and not because more Blacks get in trouble….
I wonder what this reform bill is?
I love the idea of urban revitalization.

LeBron James has opened a school …He’s not only paid for the school but is also paying for training for the parents of the kids to get good jobs, ..and tuition to University of Akron… He also gives each kid at his school free bkfst and lunch…and a bike, because he said his bike was what got him to safe places like community centers after school when he was a kid.
This is a terrific thing…giving kids a CHANCE….and helping their parents, too. This kind of revitalization is a really good thing….

  11. Kid says:

I believe this is the bill. Quick read, but looks to try to get people back safely into society when possible.

Good Stuff from LeBron. The first rich black person to put his money where his mouth is as far as I know !

  12. geeez2014 says:

Kid, THANKS….that bill looks like an excellent one. I’m sure there are people in prison who’d really not do what they did again, but feel hopeless….and this is a good thing.

Ya, I thought it was really good, too. Actually, Magic Johnson, too, has done a lot for the Los Angeles community….he’s built businesses in the Watts area, etc., and employs a lot of minorities….pretty good stuff.
But, you’re right; that VERY VERY rich part of our communities could sure do more….put their money where their whining mouths are!!!
They got lucky, let them make kids get lucky, too……..(so to speak, of course :-)HA!)

ACUCHUCK: ..You wrote me this : “GEEZ2014–Firstly what difference does it make if you know me or not? I thought this comment section was for everyone,. Does it say anywhere, in your comment section, that my words must go thru a moderation process 1St? SOUNDS LIKE YOU DON’T WANT TO READ/PRINT WHAT YOU DON’T AGREE WITH OR AM I READING YOUR COMMENTS INCORRECTLY?”

    I didn’t go through the process of changing from Blogger to WordPress (which I didn’t want to do and put off doing for a very long time, warning my liberal commenters to please stop slamming my commenters) for nothing….it was because every morning I woke up to far leftists spewing in my comments pages as if it was their blog and I was tiring of it. So, I had to go to that trouble. It’s MY blog and yes, if I don’t want someone here, they’re not here….simple.;
You don’t know me or you’d know I welcome fair, smart opinions I disagree with. I disagree frequently about Trump with my very loyal readers.
This comments section is NOT for everyone…it used to be but it was taken advantage of.

    good luck to you.

  14. geeez2014 says:

CHuck just wrote “gOT YOUR RESPONSE LOUD AND CLEAR. FUNNY YOU FAILED TO EVEN MENTION THE LAST HALF OF MY POST IN YOUR RESPONSE AND THAT WAS MY ONLY REASON FOR COMMENTING. My point was the fact that all this BS about Duke and So Carolina was and is an excuse to beat up our president. Even a year later it’s their (the left and MSM) only way to connect Trump to racism. The more this stupidity get’s rehashed the more the Trump Haters will believe it. So Lebron is one of those who’s hate of our President his hate has shown itself in a myriad of formats including snubbing the Pres after NBA Finals. So even after that, the MSM and others, continue to give this disrespectful professional sports icon, a platform to create division.
I am an avid follower and love your blog and am happy to get the new posts almost daily. I just hate all the Trump Bashing all the time, so giving Lebron the time of day is not helping. Chuck”

Your comment was so critical that I focused on that…sorry.

I agree, this is all to connect Trump to racism……….definitely. But I think LeBron could also learn from our president, see he’s NOT racist, and maybe put America first and not Barack Obama’s agenda.

If you’re an avid follower and love my blog, I hope that you continue to comment and that you know you’re welcome here …it matters that my moderation thing isn’t working, that’s another reason I was testy.

  15. geeez2014 says:

AND, after all she said, he STILL persisted in “Do you, TOO, think we in the press are ENEMIES OF THE PEOPLE like the president said? Ivanka says we’re not…do YOU….? Do you think it’s good for this country or around the world for an American president to call the press ENEMIES OF THE PEOPLE!?”

  16. Kid says:

Well, here is what Abraham Lincoln said about the lying press.

Compare President Trump’s reaction to a hostile press to President Lincoln’s on May 18, 1864.

Whereas there has been wickedly and traitorously printed and published this morning in the New York World and New York Journal of Commerce, newspapers printed and published in the city of New York, a false and spurious proclamation purporting to be signed by the President and to be countersigned by the Secretary of State, which publication is of a treasonable nature, designed to give aid and comfort to the enemies of the United States and to the rebels now at war against the Government and their aiders and abettors, you are therefore hereby commanded forthwith to arrest and imprison in any fort or military prison in your command the editors, proprietors, and publishers of the aforesaid newspapers, and all such persons as, after public notice has been given of the falsehood of said publication, print and publish the same with intent to give aid and comfort to the enemy; and you will hold the persons so arrested in close custody until they can be brought to trial before a military commission for their offense. You will also take possession by military force of the printing establishments of the New York World and Journal of Commerce, and hold the same until further orders, and prohibit any further publication therefrom.

  17. geeez2014 says:

Hi, Chuck! Thanks for your moderated comment (Since it’s personal, I’m not releasing it here, of course)…but this is how I choose to respond; I don’t give my email to people I don’t know very, very well! SO, about Bob Hoffman, is that Bob the car repair guy? Mostly German cars, I think? Is that him?

  18. geeez2014 says:

Kid, and if our media isn’t giving aid and comfort to foreign enemies, I don’t know what they ARE doing….ANything to make the American president look HIDEOUS…..that’s terrible and one of the reasons I side with Trump (and Lincoln!) on this behavior.

  19. CHUCKUFAB says:

yUP THE ONE AND ONLY, BOB THE AUDI GUY. I had a VW business in Redondo in the 80’s and later a welding business in Hermosa next door to Bob. Great guy, speaks highly of you. Nice to know we have a friend in common. I’ll tell him you said HI.

  20. geeez2014 says:

Check this out…start at 40:24 or so if you want to hear SARAH SANDERS SLAM ACOSTA, BUT GOOD! Hurrah!
He whines that calling the media ENEMIES OF THE PEOPLE looks bad to foreign countries…and I’m thinking “CNN calls our president a liar, regularly, and worse…and THAT doesn’t “look bad to foreign countries!?””

  21. geeez2014 says:

Chuck! You’re now officially at GeeeZ…and please tell Bob “Hello from Z and hello from ALEX in Germany…” Alex is my stepson; I’ve never met Bob but he knows my politics and that’s probably why he speaks highly of me, being a conservative as he is 🙂 Good to know you!

  22. Kid says:

Z, Yep, Sarah is extremely competent. Probably the best that’s been in that lion and monkey tamer position.

  23. Baysider says:

I’m sick to death of hearing this meme presented over and over in the media without the balancing opprobrium it deserves. It’s all part of the ‘plot’ to bury the half of the country that wants their republic back.

James needs to shut up and stick to his field until he learns how to think without running his mouth with toxic nonsense. Or be honest: “look, I’m partisan for the Democrats, loved Obama and would never have called him out for actually doing what I’m accusing Trump of.” Now we’re clear on his motives.

Trump used sport to divide us? Whaaaat? Who used sport to be divisive Mr. James? James may do ‘good’ on the one hand, then joins the chorus to divide and destroy the republic as a high-profile cheerleader. If we all have a moral bank account of good inputs and bad withdrawals, I’d say he’s OVERDRAWN.

  24. Baysider says:

I looked up the exchange with Lacosta you mentioned. It’s OBVIOUS the press is the enemy of the Republic, and that’s the people. He keeps mau-mauing her, and what a smackdown. Fabulous!!

  25. geeez2014 says:

Baysider, one exchange, today’s, is posted just above…. She did a great job.
(did you get my email re your phone call last night?)

I believe Le Bron is totally ideological…totally Obama-loving, etc…and I don’t know if he’s got the heart or head to actually even let Trump talk to him in order to do some good in this country (otherwise, I’d tell Trump to avoid him, he doesn’t deserve the meeting) but I think it’s well worth the try.
The sad thing is how we hear EVERYTHING that happens in and around the White House….

Gad, did you see the Tweet Trump wrote to Kim Jong Un? “Donald J. Trump

Thank you to Chairman Kim Jong Un for keeping your word & starting the process of sending home the remains of our great and beloved missing fallen! I am not at all surprised that you took this kind action. Also, thank you for your nice letter – l look forward to seeing you soon!”

I was watching some of the coffins coming to Pearl Harbor from NoKo yesterday…it was so beautiful, so well done. And I thought “What are the chances the NoKoreans even kept the remains? if this comes to nothing, CNN and MSNBC will be showing this forever…laughing at Trump for having believed Kim” Supposedly, it could take longer than two presidential terms to finally figure out who’s who…if they’re Anglo, if they’re American, if they’re “Sgt Jones”….

  26. Jersey Jack says:

“he’s built businesses in the Watts area, etc., and employs a lot of minorities….pretty good stuff.
Which proves that the majority of these supremely rich blacks are down and out hypocrites. I don’t see them lining up with their unpronounceable names, taking their millions, billions. 25,000 sq.ft homes with 10 car garages, maids, chauffers. home chefs and all of their bling brought to them by the sheer force of our capitalistic system….packing up and fleeing out of terror and taking all of it and fleeing to Rwanda, Uganda, Liberia. Hell…they can buy all of Haiti for a fast billion ( which I think the Clintons already hid the money from their “recovery” while still living under tarps for the past 10 years yet. ) But like all fake socialists, they can afford socialism. Go the hell Haiti and you can have your Obama team for life. They make me sick. They won’t go cause they know…there’s nothing on this planet run by Africans or failed latino countries that will ever be as successful as this one…in the future or not in the past. BTW…a hint..takewaters, cummings, perez, pelousy , shif and schumer.
However, we are on our way to socialism, to ruin, just to prove how stupid the popular voters in this country really are.

  27. Baysider says:

Missed it – the post and email. I actually scrolled up and down looking for it because I thought there was a video embed. But it was EASY to find online. These media jerks need to hear this kind of stuff. And citizens of the republic need to see them taken to task at last.

  28. geeez2014 says:

You didn’t get an email to Garden?

  29. Jean Worland says:

You gave valuable information, Zabelle. Thank you. Of course, it would be wonderful if they sat down to try to have a “meeting of the minds”, but sadly, it’ll never happen. (I would love for it to happen, but they both have too much baggage going on for it to ever happen!)
