IS IT OUR JOB? Russia, Guatemala and Saudi Arabia…Let’s talk!

First…please continue to pray for Jersey Jack!  He had some surgery yesterday and infection must be prayed against.  Thank you from Tom and his wife!   She texted that they’re SO appreciative of all of your prayers…

  • Do you think economic sanctions are the proper way for the West to treat Russia because they’ve poisoned people?

  • Do you think a wife who’s suffering from domestic violence in Guatemala should get asylum in America?

  • Is it America’s job to change how Saudi Arabians treat their women?

If we took time to think about it, we’d realize just how little the people in other countries give a damn what we think of their systems, their laws, their customs.

Attempts to modify their behavior by condescending tongue-clucking, holier-than-thou hand-wringing, and economic or political “time-outs” will be about as effective on their cultures as a lecture on decorum to teenage boys by Miley Cyrus.

  2. Kid says:

    No, No, No.

I guess on the sanctions we are supporting the UK for some reason. We should take George Washington’s advice in his departing speech and not get so entangled with foreign countries, especially since they’ve mostly now infected themselves with the cancer of islam.

  3. geeez2014 says:

EXCELLENT RESPONSES, Bocopro and Kid…I feel that way, too.

I also welcome any response that says “Yes, we should…” I like to hear other opinions.

Actually, BOCOPRO, not only do they ‘not give a damn,’ they’re not too happy about it, particularly in Saudi Arabia, and I honestly don’t blame them ONE BIT.

The Brits can take care of their own problems, in my opinion.

  5. Mal Telloian says:

Population-wise we are still a small country so needn’t be concerned with the politics or well-being of other countries. In times of disasters like earthquakes, floods, erupting volcanos, tsunamis and the like, we should and do assist, but thats it. We simply can’t take care of the world. Period.

  6. Kid says:

Z, How about this one. My lunch pals just told me they have a neighbor who has a family member living in Peru who comes here for eye surgery at Cincinnati Eye Institute who then bills it all to Medicare.

  7. geeez2014 says:

Mal, I think, generally, the horrid weather occurrences are when we come i to help…ONLY.
My husband said he was amazed at the things Americans do for other countries….even here, when he hears of neighborhoods bringing casseroles, etc., for sick neighbors, etc., he said he’s not heard of that even in Germany…..I doubt that’s a RULE (we women know more about those things than a man would have, probably) but he definitely hadn’t heard of thousands of Teddy bears sent to foreign children to help, either. He LOVES this country, that’s for sure.

KID>>>.HOW? HOW HOW? Is this family member a Peruvian or American? You say “living in Peru”, I wondered if it’s an expat? If not, that is FRAUD, in my opinion.

My own friend is a naturalized citizen from Romania….when her nephew, 35 years or so ago, had heart problems back in Romania, she wrote and wrote to congressmen, etc., and they paid for EVERYTHING: Americans picked up the airline trips (including the young boy’s father), for a trip from LA to JOHNS HOPKINS, and the whole surgery, and trip home! Honestly! $$$ all paid for by us, for a foreigner. I still can’t get over that. Ya, my friend is ONE PUSHY WOMAN but it worked!!!

  8. geeez2014 says:

Omarosa is a word I’d NEVER use in my blog, and VERY VERY rarely use in public….she is the WORST of the WORST…..but an ADULT NEVER calls ANY woman a DOG, let alone a Black woman; what was he THINKING? Yes, color shouldn’t matter, but how’s about just throwing red meat to Trump haters? “See what a jerk he truly IS?” that’ll help our country’s congress survive the midterms!
STOP STOP STOP… MORE…he’s written HORRID stuff on her and she deserves it, but SHOW SOME CLASS! How about this from Trump instead:

“Omarosa is someone I enjoyed on The Apprentice and I thought she’d do a good job at the White House. It is my pleasure to promote people I feel could step up to new and important positions. Apparently, it was too much for her, and there was a gossip problem, and a trust factor to the point that Gen Kelly had to let her go. I am stunned at the tape recording she’s done, which show our trust concerns were valid, and have to trust that Americans know I would never use the word she’s accusing me of having used. Omarosa, good luck with your book, but I’m afraid it’s going to do you a lot of harm in the long wrong, it’s not book earnings which reveal a person’s character”.

AND AND AND: Do you know Mueller’s asked Omarosa to work with him?
WHAT? Trump’s saying the N word (possibly), or anything SHE’D know, is valid to the RUSSIAN COLLUSION thing? HOW DAMNED FAR IS THIS MUELLER GOING TO GO?
Does he really think she taped some collusion? WHAT THE HECK?

  9. Kid says:

The eye patient is definitely Peruvian. Don’t know about the person living here or if special requests were made. She is back in Peru after the procedure and probably the months of followup checks.

  10. Kid says:

    Z, I was wondering why you hadn’t brought up amarosa yet… 🙂

Mueller? I believe she was approached by the left 10 seconds after she was fired and is being paid by them to lie, and that she will lie to Mueller, or he will tell her what to say. Trump had better not let himself be interviewed by Mueller. Guaranteed Perjury trap.

With the information coming out, there is no doubt there is NOTHING they won’t do to get him out.

  11. Baysider says:

If you have a domestic problem it’s not the job of the richest nation in the world to let you in. There are police, courts and FAMILY locally. If those don’t work, why not? Is it OUR JOB to fix them? No!

Can we be an “example with pressure”? Yes. Look, when you think of the pressure put on the Soviets for Soviet Jewry you know that international opprobrium gives you some levers. It kind of worked both ways – this is a 2-edged sword. We don’t have to approve. We don’t have to ‘step in’ to change. But a relentless drumbeat does not hurt. Look at how the left is wearing down the underpinnings of the Republic. Why shouldn’t outsiders do that with women’s status in Saudi Arabia?

  12. geeez2014 says:

Baysider, I don’t care a darn about Saudi Arabian women…if they want to help themselves, they’re very welcome to. They certainly could.

I don’t agree about Russia and poisonings…… you think Putin’s suddenly going to think he’d better behave now? His economy is the pitiful size of Italy’s, most people don’t know that….his BIG show-off drumbeat is for HIS people, not for us.
Poisonings are actually inner-Russia dealings….let his people stop him.

Kid, yes, Omarosa is running on Democrat fumes..$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Mueller, though? The ONLY thing she could possibly help him with, legally and within the confines of his supposed ‘case’ is if she was in on Russia meetings …IF there is collusion, I’m thinking Trump wouldn’t discuss it with OMAROSA 🙂
UNBELIEVABLE that he’s asking to talk to her and she’s already saying “Happy to comply!” $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Did you see that Strzok has raised almost $200,000 on GoFundMe? THAT many people believe he did RIGHT? Or that many dollars hate Trump enough to think ANYTHING against Trump works for them, the bastards.

  13. Kid says:

I heard Stroks page got the 250k in a single day and now he’s upped it. Was told. I don’t look.

IMO Mueller is operating far and wide from ‘russian collusion’. My idea is he would get amarosa to say some things about why Trump fired Comey that ‘proved’ obstruction for example, then pop out obstruction charges against DJT and start the impeachment. I’d bet money on it.

Gulliani believes Brennen (muslism Trump hater who resigned as head of CIA on Trump Inauguration day) has been the leader of this whole Trump movement. There is more at stake here for the criminals and democrat party than we will ever imagine. They’re not playing by the rules.

  14. Bob says:

“Do you think economic sanctions are the proper way for the West to treat Russia ,,, ” Unless we want WW3, sanctions are appropriate.

“Do you think a wife who’s suffering from domestic violence in Guatemala …” No. Although we all empathize with these cases we cannot be responsible for curing the world’ s ills whether they be cultural, social, or economic.

“Is it America’s job to change how Saudi Arabians treat their women?” It’s not our job BUT we have a moral responsibility to push such backward societies to not only improve, but attach some sort of penalty (like immigration policy) to their actions.

Z: I don’t believe this stuff is complicated. Taken individually, and compared to our world position, there is only so much we can do. The appeal of President Trump is that he is not afraid to engage with complex situations, knowing that there is always a solution where we can benefit. He is the best I have seen at this approach.

I know you probably grind your teeth everyday with Trump’s tweets, but he will never stop. What we have to do is to hope that he eats less and less shoe leather over time. He will probably wound himself over and over but as I hate to say, he is what he is.

  15. geeez2014 says:

Kid, someone has something to hide…the other day on the early morning FOX show, “Fox and Friends”, Giuliani was on (and he rarely does himself or Trump much good when he goes on any show lately) and was blabbing and blabbing about everything under the sun relating to how awful this Mueller ‘witch hunt’ is…Steve Doocy asked him, clearly, at least 3 times, “Then WHY doesn’t Trump DECLASSIFY and let it all come out”… He TOTALLY ignored him….and he heard him, believe me…..something weird there, for sure.

No, the first day Strzok got $100K….is it up to $250 already? Says a lot. Sickening.

MAL: Ducky commented to me asking me to ask YOU how America helped Puerto Rico after their hurricane…which, of course, they did, but the liberal news paints it as if we are doing absolutely nothing.

BOB: NO WAY. Sanctions on Russia aren’t my question, really…sanctions for poisoning Russians in other countries is my question. I TOTALLY BELIEVE IN SANCTIONS ON RUSSIA for problems they have caused us or other Western countries, but I do not believe economic sanctions are appropriate for poisonings we can’t even really prove (tho it’s pretty clear)
    That’s what I believe, anyway.
I don’t think we have any RIGHT to tell Saudi Arabia what’s right and what’s wrong, but I’m not totally averse to working behind the scenes…..I just think we need to stop financial aid or big sanctions, or finger-waving, at countries who have their own outlooks in the world. It’s not our business.

  16. Bob says:

Bayside: Imagine my surprise when I right-clicked on your word, opprobrium, and the following popped up.

Opprobrium is a death metal band from Metairie, Louisiana.

Apparently, all we have to do to threaten other countries is to broadcast heavy metal music.

  17. geeez2014 says:

    Bob, that is HILARIOUS!
The other night, FOX had a terrific interview with a rapper named PITBULL, who I’d never even heard of before….he said he’s so famous that when you Google, HE comes up before the dog :-)k
I say “terrific” because I don’t know if any of you saw it, but that guy is BRIGHT. (and conservative!! HURRAH!)

BOB…and BAYSIDER…I was also just thinking that it’s not our business who Putin kills, BUT BUT…..his people are tired of Putin and if our sanctions hit THEM hard enough in their pocketbooks, they COULD get angry enough to actually do something against his regime?
    Just a thought.

  18. Kid says:

The reason I said No on sanctions is I’ve never seen any proof presented. I also think if Russia did it the people would be dead and not alive.

  19. geeez2014 says:

    Kid, EXACTLY.

I ALSO wanted to discuss the idea of Trump suing Omarosa again….apparently, according to the brilliant Andrew McCarthy, confidentiality agreements don’t count in the WH…nobody does it…and a Grand Jury Subpoena overrules it. Period. And someone’s either advising Trump to do it anyway(Giuliani, probably), or Trump’s threatening just to scare her. Unreal

  20. Kid says:

Sure makes sense on grand jury exception but didn’t know about WH ND not being valid.

  21. Bob says:

Z: My wife and I watched the Pit Bull interview. The guy has an idea every minute, and is like Trump with his energy level. The guy is cool.

  22. Mal Telloian says:

Tell Ducky we did as much as possible, but with most of the island cut off due to the roads and bridges being destroyed we had no way beyond bringing ships full of supplies to them. Beyond that, I don’t know. I feel confident we did the best humanly possible. We always have and do.

  23. Mal Telloian says:

I remember that after several weeks, about 80% of the island was still w/o power due to inaccessibility. It also didn’t help that Puerto Rico was so far out in the middle of the ocean.

  24. Kid says:

Mal, I put Puerto Rico and New Orleans about the same, only as you say PR was harder to get to and to dock with also once there.

Louisiana under the direction of governorette Blanco and others before her spent federal money aimed at upgrading levies on booze and hookers. Once Katrina hit, Blanco wouldn’t let the Natl Guard in for 3 days and FEMA wasn’t going in without the guard. Hence 3 days without support. And the locals did jack nothing to help themself even with days notice of the coming hurricane. In the 9th ward and don’t get out of the way? not even walk to higher ground??? …………..
And no local support before or after.

Very similar with PR. No one prepared. No one stocked even a few bottles of water. none of the money we sent them beforehand went to improve infrastructure, ie electric grid.
After it hits. No local support. Truck drivers who go all profiteering to drive supplies inland if the supplies can even be offloaded.

Why did we associate ourselves with PR anyway ? Democrats i guess, it is a perfect lair for democrats.

  25. geeez2014 says:

Kid, experts say nondisclosures just haven’t existed….I heard another reason why again today, but can’t remember it. Anyway, his lawyers ought to know this. Trump’s been badly advised or won’t listen. Looks like a dope right now insisting on something not in the realm of reality. I just Googled and can find only leftwing media on the thread, sadly, and they’re all horrified at it, but they’re not wrong, apparently. Not this time, anyway 🙂

And yes, Dems don’t give a darn that PR, for example, hadn’t prepared, or that it was very difficult to get to at the time, with help. I remember hearing that.
I also remember CNN reporters finding the saddest stories they could find, for about two weeks of nonstop coverage…anything to slam Americans.

Bob, he DID remind me of Trump’s energy…I thought he was incredibly bright, positive, amazing….sad he won’t marry any of the mothers of his six children, but I’m sure he’s not a deadbeat dad$$$!!!

  26. Kid says:

    Z, We’ll see.

How about the moslem vermin. Dead 3 yr old, other kids starving, living in squalar being trained to shoot up schools, multiple wives. Judge lets them out on Signature Bond ! Our justice system is infected like a bad bowel disease and our AG is out to lunch.

  27. Mal says:

    Like Kid said!

  28. geeez2014 says:

  29. Kid says:

To inflame it a little more, Counter balance this with what went on a Waco with Gen Wesley Clark in charge and Janet Reno and bubba clinton running the show.

  30. Kid says:

Thanks Mal. Honestly, I think things have gotten so corrupt, so evil, that it is beyond the ability for people to even recognize it. They can’t find a way to believe it or the shock is so hard it is like your brain goes comatose from the shock and you start thinking about ice cream sandwiches to try to recover. I really believe it is that bad.

And I suspected it was when osama was in the white house all those years too.

  31. Kid says:

Reminds me of the scene in Kurt Vonnegut’s novel Breakfast of Champions when Kilgore Trout tells the main character than he is the only human on Earth and ll the other beings are actually robots programmed to randomly do all manner of things just to how he will react. I sometimes cast myself as the main character.

  32. geeez2014 says:

Kid !”….you start thinking about ice cream sandwiches to try to recover.” You DO have a way with words. Love that…

I HONESTLY think that we’ve believed in this country for so long that we thought any weird stuff that was going on, and it WAS, couldn’t be real, couldn’t be serious, people would wake up!
But, we were sleeping, stupid and naive.

I also DO believe that the Russian who’s on video saying America was in huge trouble and how, was correct…years ago. Kruschev promised us we’d destroy ourselves from within. Then the Sixties came. Sex, drugs, rock’n roll..which was GREAT, but which couldn’t have been worse for America…ignoring promiscuity ( who wasn’t in those days?) , ignoring drug use, hippies, welfare which destroyed families, teachers with commie leanings…

We were told we were too conservative, too Christian, too unloving, if we didn’t accept EVERYTHING.

and now look what we’ve got.

  33. Kid says:

63 was the turning point. When they killed JFK and LBJ was in. From my view being 11 in 63, things were great up to 68 when the Vietnam war really got rolling.
LBJ moves social security form the lockbox to the general fund, steals it all and creates modern day slavery in welfare/wic
    Then major events were
    – the draft and college riots, 4 dead in Ohio, drugs brought in by the feds to calm the restless natives
    – women’s lib movement to begin the breakup of the family unit
    – jimmy carter comes along and hijacks public education
    – demoralization in all areas from art to music to sex morals
    – things percolated through the 80s and 90’s with education being silently shifted to communist indoctrination
    – 2000 came along with GW Bush and the media went complete military leftist
    – 9/11/2001 and America would never be the same, patriotic act, TSA and the 5 ton thumb on the necks of every American in the name of security that never arrived and still hasn’t
    – GWBush starts an absurd war with the talibanin Afghanistan that will never have a definable end, then breaks open the middle east like a pinata full of scorpians which in hindsight has done more harm than good
    – We should have nuked mecca and medina as soon as it was verifiable jihadists perpetrated 9-11 and told the world what if any of the vermin try something like that again we will see to it their people and culture will cease to exist.
    – from there, PC, militant PC, nonexistent concepts like islamaphobia
    – massive invasion by migrants, legal and illegal and demonization of anyone who objected and none of the objectors were in government. Those clowns were all too happy and comfortable doing their money feeding frenzy while serving the corporate and other masters
    – massive subversion and invasion of our federal infrastructure from IRS to FBI, to CIA, to NSA, to DOJ. Big moves during bubba clinton’s time
    – Nafta, free trade with China, floodgates opened from China, and 90% of all products in the US from China, massive US $$$ heading out never to be seen again.

Lots of peripherals of course and I may have missed a major event here or there.

At this point the country is like a shivering baby afraid to offend a pervert breaking into a girls room stall on the excuse that he feels like a girl.

DJ Trump and family come along and commit themselves to re-inventing an exceptional, non-apologetic, capitalist America. Is it too late? Details still being written.

  34. geeez2014 says:

Kid, MAN, this is a MIGHTY list…and excellent…glad you included Kent State, because that was quite a picture…hippies bending over their dead friend glaring at the cops…

That sort of encapsulated the Sixties, in a way……..

I sure wish you could write the details you mention at the end; and write them how you’d like to see them written.

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post, come to think of it! :

Kid, you said you were 11 in ’63. Hmmm. I was 35!

    AAAAAARG! ;o)
