CIVIL WAR IN AMERICA?

Our pal Mal asked if I could print this here and it’s pretty interesting so …here it is! (thanks, Mal)

Dr. Jack D. Minzey died Sunday, 8 April 2018

Jack was head of the Department of Education at Eastern Michigan University as
well as author of numerous books, most of which were on Education and the
Government’s role.   This is the last of his works:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Civil War
How do civil wars happen?
Two or more sides disagree on who runs the country. And they can’t settle the question through elections because they don’t even agree that elections are how you decide who’s in charge.
That’s the basic issue here. Who decides who runs the country? When you hate each
other but accept the election results, you have a country.
When you stop accepting election results, you have a countdown to a civil war.
The Mueller investigation is about removing President Trump from office and overturning the results of an election. We all know that. But it’s not the first time they’ve done this.
The first time a Republican president was elected this century, they said he didn’t really win. The Supreme Court gave him the election. There’s a pattern here.
What do sure odds of the Democrats rejecting the next Republican president really mean? It means they don’t accept the results of any election that they don’t win. It means they don’t believe that transfers of power in this country are determined by elections.
That’s a civil war.
There’s no shooting. At least not unless you count the attempt to kill a bunch of Republicans at a charity baseball game practice. But the Democrats have rejected our system of government. This isn’t dissent. It’s not disagreement. You can hate the other party. You can think they’re the worst thing that ever happened to the country. But then you work harder to win the next election. When you consistently reject the results of elections that you don’t win, what you want is a dictatorship. Your very own dictatorship.
The only legitimate exercise of power in this country, according to Democrats, is its own.
Whenever Republicans exercise power, it’s inherently illegitimate. The Democrats lost Congress.
They lost the White House. So what did they do? They began trying to run the country through Federal judges and bureaucrats.
Every time that a Federal judge issues an order saying that the President of the United States can’t scratch his own back without his say so, that’s the civil war.
Our system of government is based on the constitution, but that’s not the system that runs this country. The Democrat’s system is that any part of government that it runs gets total and unlimited power over the country.
If the Democrats are in the White House, then the president can do anything. And I mean
anything.
He can have his own amnesty for illegal aliens. He can fine you for not having health insurance. His power is unlimited. He’s a dictator.
But when Republicans get into the White House, suddenly the President can’t do anything.
He isn’t even allowed to undo the illegal alien amnesty that his predecessor illegally invented. A Democrat in the White House has ‘discretion’ to completely decide every aspect of immigration policy. A Republican doesn’t even have the ‘discretion’ to reverse him. That’s how the game is played. That’s how our country is run. Sad but true, although the left hasn’t yet won that particular fight.
When a Democrat is in the White House, states aren’t even allowed to enforce immigration law. But when a Republican is in the White House, states can create their own immigration laws.
Under Obama, a state wasn’t allowed to go to the bathroom without asking permission. But under Trump, Jerry Brown can go around saying that California is an independent republic and sign treaties with other countries.
The Constitution has something to say about that whether it’s Federal or State, Executive, Legislative or Judiciary, the left moves power around to run the country. If it controls an institution, then that institution is suddenly the supreme power in the land. This is what I call a moving dictatorship.
Donald Trump has caused the Shadow Government to come out of hiding: Professional government is a guild. Like medieval guilds. You can’t serve in it if you’re not a member. If you haven’t been indoctrinated into its arcane rituals. If you aren’t in the club. And Trump isn’t in the club. He brought in a bunch of people with him who also are NOT in the club.
Now we’re seeing what the pros do when amateurs try to walk in on them. They spy on them, they investigate them and they send them to jail. They use the tools of power to bring them down.
That’s not a free country.
It’s not a free country when FBI agents who support Hillary take out an ‘insurance policy’ against Trump winning the election.It’s not a free country when Obama officials engage in massive unmasking of the opposition. It’s not a free country when the media responds to the other guy winning by trying to ban the conservative media that supported him from social media. It’s not a free country when all of the above collude together to overturn an election because the guy who wasn’t supposed to win… WON.
Have no doubt. We are in a civil war.
This war is between conservative volunteer government and a leftist Democrat professional government.
    Agree completely. The left declared war on America a long time ago.
    Well, if not a civil war, which has to be the grandaddy of all oxymorons, then a divorce. And for the same reasons — irreconcilable differences over who’s in charge, who has the authority to make decisions, who should spend the community income.
    All I know is that I saw my doctor for a physical today. Every lab test well within standard limits, including cholesterol and all those things. Sugar a touch high, 118, which is sneaking into the pre-diabetes range, but not exactly scary.
    Except for slightly elevated B/P (chronic), which today was 153/84, and kidneys that are filtering at around the 46% effectiveness point, I’m healthy as a horse.
    I’m fairly confident the B/P is nothin but doc smock shock — spikes every time I go over there for a physical. And having kidneys “which look like they belong to a man of 90” isn’t exactly surprising based on my lifestyle as a young man and the fact that I’m sneakin up on 80.
    I have no problem with a national divorce. Put all the liberals in Mexifornia, the Latinos in Florida and Texas, the blacks in Gamal (Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas), and everybody else in the heartland, and see which one can turn itself into a Zimbabwe or Venezuela first.
    Can’t upset me today, and I ain’t gonna live more’n just a few years anyhow, so bring it on. No fun livin in a house where half the residents hate you. Not partic’larly enthusiastic about a war, but my mother was divorced and I turned out o.k. Movin is better’n shootin.
    One thing, tho — who gets all the toys . . . you know, the bombers, the boomer boats, the carriers, the tanks, the missiles, the satellites?
    Been talking about a divorce for a good while now. I’d say give them the North Eastern states and Northern California, Oregon, and Washington. We’ll keep Camp Pendelton, and Texas and the center East coast will give good access to the oceans. In order to get the libtards to self deport to libtardia, we’ll simple cut off free money and stuff for able-bodied people of working age. 6 months to learn a trade on our dime as a loan and your cut off after that.
    Lets firm up the constitution so for example, we have more than a comma telling us we can be armed. I’m smelling the fresh air already.
    Hey Bocopro, be careful comparing your kidneys to a guy 90! That smarts! ;o)
    Actually, I don’t even know my numbers except BP is 120/80 (or less), cholesterol under 200. With no prescriptions. Just lucky, I guess.
    I thought this guy nailed it explaining the current “democracy” we’re suppose to have. Have you noticed how the left seldom speaks civilly? They resort to yelling, screaming, and violence. That says volumes about their credibility. And unlike the GOP, they stick 100% together. No flakes like Flake from Arizona to weaken the party. Unfortunately a civil war isn’t an impossibility. I only hope we don’t become like a 3rd world country that resorts to violence instead of the voting booth to achieve their desired outcome.
    Bocopro….so glad your numbers are so good! No Cholesterol meds? No BP meds? Really?
    You said “No fun livin in a house where half the residents hate you”……I was subbing yesterday and we got to chatting about climate and Kavanaugh, etc…….I tried to avoid it but they insisted I give input. Mostly, I just ask questions back without revealing too much, but MY GOSH, particularly the GIRLS (girls of high school age are ALWAYS, at least in my many years of experience) FAR more militant and assertive than ANY of our boys..ANY. The way these girls painted their opinions, they give all their information SO forcibly and with such surety it blew my mind again……”THIS IS THE WAY IT IS..!” One said “I heard a woman saying that global climate change wasn’t real …and she REALLY MEANT IT, this is SO SAD, she HONESTLY thinks that!” I believe this was in response to my having said something earlier within earshot of this girl. She’d moved her chair into ‘my group’ (the kids were finished working privately and had moved into chatting little groups) and she was going to TEACH ME. Bugged me BIG TIME.
    One boy said there was nothing wrong with sex in public because it was only Christian values which would stop that and not all are Christians. I reminded them that private sex with someone you love is so far more than they can imagine that he’s dead wrong on this, faith or no faith.
    Pretty shocking stuff at my private Christian high school! (He is not a believer, many are not, by the way)
    “No Cholesterol meds? No BP meds? Really?”
    Oh, yeah . . . big time meds. Lipitor, metoprolol, losartan, sular, 81mg aspirin.
    Also take a garlic gel every evenin with fish oil, and in the morning I use a cinnamon supplement as a hedge against diabetes onset.
    At a naval hospital you get a new HCM about every two years, standard Navy rotation practice. Over the past 20-odd years since my MI, I’ve asked each one of ’em about the benefits of garlic, fish oil, cinnamon, aspirin, and other OTCs such as glucosamine, chondroitin, turmeric, and several others.
    Bottom line is that the chondroitin/glucosamine is a waste of money, just as are multivitamins. “May as well flush a $20 bill down the commode every month for all the benefit they give.”
    Reaction to the other stuff is mixed: about half say that garlic, fish oil, and cinnamon provide measurable health benefits while the other half say that the benefits are negligible but they won’t do you any harm if you don’t overdo ’em.
    They ALL say go light on the aspirin, for a whole buncha reasons, no more than 81mg/day. And a lot of ’em endorse the turmeric, plus about 15 to 20 minutes of direct sunlight around 0900 or 1700 every day. For some reason, vitamin D deficiency has recently become a big deal in the medical community.
    I’ve cut way back on red meat . . . eat a small steak maybe once every 6 months or so, and NEVER any pork chops or sausage. Lotta chicken, always baked, grilled, roasted, or stewed, as in tinola (ginger/chicken/papaya/spinach soup), never battered or fried. Can’t remember the last time I had a burger or hot dog. Twenty-five years, prob’ly. Don’t like fish; ergo the fish oil supplements.
    Since I have a tendency toward anaemia, docs have told me to incorporate ham (never fried and with all visible fat removed) at least once a month into my diet. Green leafy veggies and iron-supplement pills don’t get my numbers up high enough.
    And exercise — gotta stay in motion. Best exercise for general health with a guy like me is “pushaways.” You know, push yourself away from the table before reachin for that second helping.
    Never imagined I’d live this long after the way I mistreated my body, especially with excess and self-indulgence. Already outlived both my grandfathers. Just lucky, I guess.
    Congratulation bocopro on a set of good numbers. I have only one kidney but it seems to be running OK.
    Z: I remember being enthusiastic about my opinions when I was in high school. The problem is that high school kids need to experience life before they can have mature opinions. Some people never grow up.
    Referencing the young lady’s opinion about climate change, let her continue to seek her own truth. You see, she is not far from being correct. There is too much hype by the climate change people, and even though the climate is changing (as it ALWAYS does) there is no reason to jump on the panic train. The Paris Climate Accords would accomplish no difference in eventual temperatures, and all that money would just be a wealth transfer from responsible nations to third world countries.
    Sea level changes are exaggerated. There is no connection between climate change and severe to extreme weather events (government data). Several coastal states noted to be flooding because of climate change have severe land subsidence problems. A good part of the east coast is sinking, as is Louisiana.
    Climate change is not a hoax, but threats of catastrophes caused by global warming are. Remember, never let a crisis go to waste whether it is real or not. The pattern should be familiar to most people.
    Bob, I couldn’t agree with you more on the climate change thing…and as the girls talked about different situations around the world, I kept reminding them that NONE of that was new…and as the Arctic is melting, the ANTarctic is colder and colder, etc….
    I reminded them what the media kept OUT of the sentence Trump used about pulling out of the Climate Accord…”…..(pulling out money)…but we DO want to work cooperatively with countries around the world to do all we can to protect the environment”….I reminded the kids “he did NOT say we’re pulling out of the agreement because Americans and I (Trump) just love to breath dirty air and drink dirty water 🙂
    Bocopro….you’ve outlived your granddads due to those drugs, probably! I am quite a bit younger than you and I’m on some of that stuff, too, sadly. All in the last 3 years or so!
    Yes, KEEP MOVING is the key…no doubt about it.
    Turmeric ate my stomach up…had to stop…as does Aspirin.
    Great input, everybody…as usual!
    I don’t have a lot of readers anymore (each post used to get from 80-100 (once 850) comments…but I DO HAVE THE VERY BEST! 🙂
    Ms. Z….it’s not the quantity…it’s the quality which 99% of the times is unimpeachable. And it’s the topic. I think we’re all angry, frustrated, worried and genuinely concerned about our country’s future.
    And we do suffer from burnout from time to time. As far as drug intake goes….nothing could be worse than the daily intakes of opioids 4 times a day for the last 2 years. I feel terrible for anyone here, who’s condition warrants so much pain that every day we might wonder if it’s all worth it.
