I would find something for old timer Sarah Palin… her voice drives me crazy….but I still remember her acceptance speech at the time that old fool McCain made a run for it. She brought energy to an otherwise moribund activity. It would be nice to reward her.

Bunkerville….her voice is HORRIBLE…!! You are so right. Plus, when she said “I’m just a soccer Mom” (as IF) and then had a big campaign stop in a small town, at the other side of the town from where Romney was holding his, she lost it forever for me. And then she said she was traveling in a big motor home but had trouble finding the money for gas!?
I was so excited when McCain picked her for VP but lost my enthusiasm about as quickly as she lost whatever humility she’d had. Her acceptance speech was a good one.

I got a kick out of Bocoro’s “nobody’s” too, Z. As for Sarah Palin, one may not like her voice but we can’t overlook her ability to govern. When she was picked as Veep for McCain she had her state of Alaska debt-free plus a nice surplus. She had also negotiated an annual payment of something around $1,200 per person by the oil companies drilling in her state. THAT should be what is important, not her voice, looks, or the fact she likes Moose Stew. We need and should have more common people in D.C. because politicians have become like the Hollywood elite.

Mal, she was a good governor, very true. I think the things I called out were disgusting and showed a level of integrity I wouldn’t reward, though.

BINGO! And that’s precisely how the Founders saw it — educated, reasonable, experienced, temporary civil servants who met from time to time to solve problems and settle disputes, then went back to their private lives never intending to make gummint a career or become rich by it.

THIS is why I advocate what Germany does for their campaigners; everybody gets the same amount of funding to run as long as they reach a proven threshold of popularity. And yes, I know Republicans don’t like that anymore as the other fantastic, helpful thing Germany does (other than voting on a weekend so more can vote, which I’m FOR) , and that’s an ID CARD for all….you vote, you swipe your card, and that card is now null and void and can’t vote again.

YOu guys should hear Shepard Smith of FOX right now “The president says this, though THE TURKS say otherwise…FOX cannot find anyone else who agrees with Trump. The Turks say they shared video with the US of the journalist being hacked up.”
Apparently, Smith feels that because the Turks are so specific about the killing of the Arab journalist, they must be right and Trump, as Smith always infers, is STUPID and DEAD WRONG.
You really almost have to laugh at the way he does this EVERY TIME>

By the way, I believe Arabs are raised to lie so BELIEVE ME, I think that, if Trump is really believing Arabia, he’s being TRUMP THE CHUMP………If he has doubts but is playing a geopolitical game saying THE KING VEHEMENTLY DENIES IT! (Who would ADMIT IT?!!) ….If he’d just not talk about it, it’d be going better. Something like “I sent Pompeo to discuss this with Saudis” might have sufficed.
Poor Trump blabs what seems to be like EVERYTHING he does…..no president’s ever done that and it never serves him well.
I would not believe the Arabs on this, but the way Smith on FOX hideously disparages Trump ALL THE TIME (tho Admittedly, I don’t watch him …the TV just happens to be on and I’m doing something else and am too lazy to get up and change it…except I WILL NOW!), is REALLY awful.

Palin, like Trump, comes as a package and not part of the swamp. Ya gets what ya pay for. No one is perfect, so on that note, the bad stuff they say or do is far outweighed by the good, which is why we want them in the first place. I’ll take both of ’em over smooth-talking Obama and company.

I just heard Trump promise a million dollars a while back to Elizabeth Warren if she’d take the test and it proves she’s an Indian. He’s denying he said that now and it’s on video. I wouldn’t mind if he just said he did say it but she really hasn’t proven it, but…

Ya, the DNA test is silly….she’s less an Indian (interesting people are using that very unPC word today…a good thing) than most Americans, as it turns out, statistically! And she should NEVER have used the ancient heritage to check off MINORITY on college apps….but it does show a BIT of Indian…and he DID promise it.

I can’t think of anyone presently in politics that I respect, so my choice of cabinet officers might be a little different.
