I did my post yesterday on FEELINGS and how misleading they can be, how you can count on FACTS.  It got me to thoughts on FEELINGS and FAITH.

We may not feel our faith every day (trust me), we may face doubts from time to time (trust me!), we feel let down by something and wonder “how could God let this happen?“, we lose a job, we lose a loved one, we face troubles….doubts creep in, as if God is our butler and he didn’t come through.  Let’s face it;  WE ARE HUMAN.  When we hurt, we blame, we feel less sure.

BUT FAITH ISN’T BASED ON FEELINGS.  Faith is based solely on THE WORD in the Bible because we (quite literally) have nothing else to represent, interpret that FAITH.   No evangelist’s sermon, no other book, nothing….there are translations, interpretations, characterizations, explanations, you name it…it’s there in Christianity;  Oswald Chambers, Billy Graham, the great C.S. Lewis, the Popes, so many, many in the field.     But NOTHING is THE WORD, the FACTS, the real knowledge.

So, when we feel hurt, depressed, saddened, anxious, fearful…when we start to wonder where God is, it’s to His Word we go.  This is one part of why study is so important, so you know where to go for what you’re experiencing.  Sometimes, just opening and reading will lead you right there, oddly enough.   But is it really ‘odd’?

Rely on your FAITH, not OUR FEELINGS!

2 Corinthians 5:6-7 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight.

Amen.  It’s not what we see, not what we feel, it’s what it SAYS.

Have a wonderful Sunday…….

You’re right, FEELINGS will (and do) lie to you. FACTS don’t. And it’s a fact that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. He died for our sins and rose again on the 3rd day that all may know eternal life. We put our faith (fact) in Him. 🙂
We’re off to Sunday School and Church. Steve is doing so much better. His left leg, where the vein(s) were removed, finally quit hurting so bad.
Hope your day is blessed! ❤

My grandmother, who talked with Jesus every day, liked to say that faith is what gives you the strength to take that first step on that first ice on the pond in November.

My grandfather, a bit more of a pragmatist, said that faith is what keeps you going when you don’t know the answers.

My mother, who never went to church in her adult life, said that faith in tomorrow is why we take the trouble to grow gardens.

I usedta have faith in The American Way, but it’s gettin a little ragged on the edges these days.

    Bocopro, ah feels yer pain!

Bocopro, those are sweet versions of FAITH! Thanks…

Mal, it’s sad, isn’t it? We all ‘feels’ the pain in America today……that’s why FEELINGS are fleeting and faith in facts helps us so much!
