What Does a Country DO with People Almost (?) as SILLY AS THIS?

The New Green Deal….even USA TODAY seems in favor of what they know about it.

What scares me is that the Right is laughing about how she wants “no more air travel, salaries for those who don’t want to work, etc.”   A man who helped her write this ‘Deal’ says those aren’t in it.  If they aren’t, please make the Right STOP because people will not pay attention to what it DOES SAY if the media has them laughing and mocking the Right so hard for misrepresenting it that they don’t notice the true mess it is.      Get it!~?   THOUGHTS?

It’s about the sell. Tell ya what, I can give you this here automobile for only $25,990 … but time is running out. I’ve gotta raise the price tomorrow. In marketing, they call this the take-a-way. Now we’re seeing this same strategy at work within the climate change group, a majority of whom have no clue about the actual science of climate change, and who know even less about the history of the earth. “Climate change deadline,” and “looming tipping point.” And the arrogance of thinking that eggheads in the USA, with no control over what other countries do, can actually do something about this “phenomena.”

Still, there is nothing wrong with talking about our problems —once we agree that there is a problem. There’s no crime in having an imagination that could lead us (as did Buck Rogers) to greater challenges and solutions in taking care of planet earth. Let’s do that without extremism (as you suggest) on either side of the political aisle. Naturally the AO-C solution is long on vision and short on details, but this is what happens in Congress and responsible representatives are right to be skeptical about the likely result of pouring tens of billions of dollars into programs that may be doomed from the start. Let me be brutal here: we did that with our education system (poured in billions) and what did we get for that? What we got was AO-C in the thousands, which in my own view, is not a good return on our “investment.”

In the linked article, authors talk about the phrase “Green New Deal” and how Thomas Friedman envisioned the government (taxpayer) backing basic research, setting standards, providing loans and grants, and implementing incentives to help us become better stewards of our planet. How has that worked out, so far? Yes, the government (taxpayer) offers a lot of money to research colleges and scientists, but what have we gotten for these expenditures. Well, we’ve ended up with dishonest college administrators and scientists who, in learning how to play the game, have milked the taxpayer for an awful lot of money. What did we get for that? We ended up with politicized science, party-ownership of research findings. It is dishonest because well-educated scientists conspired to skew data to that it gave them the results they were looking for … such as temperature increases, sea levels, and the sky is falling tomorrow afternoon at 3 pm. Who wants to fund projects like this when we cannot trust the people who are giving us data and projecting the future?

Every American (not just conservatives) ought to be skeptical of the Greenies. Long on emotion, short on science. One day, the American people will realize that along with forests, money is an endangered resource, too. How much have we spent on wind-generating power? How much has it contributed to our energy needs? The contribution has been miniscule, and meanwhile, the USA power grids are in serious condition and no one in Congress is even addressing those issues. Why not? Kid knows a lot about power generation, and so far as I know, no one has ever answered his questions on this issue.

  2. Z,
Early screen shots seems to show that those items are in AOC’s Green New Deal.

Certainly, the FAQ’s page about the Green New Deal was deleted. It used to be there. I saw it with my own two eyes! It is preserved HERE. Snippet: We set a “oal to “et to net-zero) rather than zero emissions) in 10 years because we aren’t sure that we’ll be able to fully “et ri of fartin” cows and airplanes that fast…

Y’know . . . the woman DOES have a brain, and it actually works. If you listen to her respond to challenges or discuss her ideas, you’ll see that she’s not slow or dense or moronic or any of that.

It’s just, as Ronnie Raygun said about libs, she simply knows so much that’s dreadfully wrong. And I think she skipped way too many history classes on her way to that degree in economics.

Anyway, she’s hopelessly ignorant and high on pixie dust, but her brain works fine — it’s just fact-deprived the same way diet soft drinks are calorie empty.

If I met her and had a pizza or somethin with her, I think I’d prob’ly like her. Might wanna slap her uupside the coconut from time to time, but still find her fun. Kinda like a toddler that you buy an expensive, complicated toy for and she ignores it to play with the box it came in.

Check this clip and you’ll see that she can pursue a thesis, structure ideas, maintain focus, and even make sense . . . in a bizarre sorta way:

    Thanks for the H/T Mustang.

Yes, we should be building Thorium/Molten Salt reactors all over the place.

    5 minute primer

    Short version:
    – does not require high pressure water
    – 100% safe from meltdown contaminattion
    – easy to build
    – thorium incredibly more plentiful than uranium
    – ability to eat waste from conventional reactors
con: does not produce ouitput material to use to create weapons grade nuclear material

How many could we have built instead of these exploding, bird killing windmills ?
Tons of vids there, here is a short one.

Solar farms also kill massive numbers of birds.

To my knnowledge, AOC hasn’t emitted a single fact about anything so far. And yes, that was the real document that was put out on GND.

  9. Green energy is a pipe dream (sorry) at this time. We are years away from this being feasible. As a matter of fact we’d need to have a hybrid energy before a fully renewable answer is found. We can’t store enough energy in batteries yet. Charging stations require electric power. We still need fossil fuels to generate electricity. AOC and her ilk believe in the mantra, “ it’ll all work out.” It did for all science but it took time. Galileo said “nothing just is.” Science is never settled. We’re years away from renewables. The money from energy companies is being invested. They want be the ones who profit from the discovery of renewables.

Mustang…SO WELL SAID…You are so right. and yes, “Let’s do that without extremism (as you suggest) on either side of the political aisle. ” and yes!! “One day, the American people will realize that along with forests, money is an endangered resource, too.” WELL SAID!

AOW…sadly, Tucker backed off when the guy kept saying “That’s not in there” I believe you’re right…clearly you’re right…..but , many times, the Right interviewers are NOT as well prepared, and don’t respond in (un)kind with THE TRUTH. Thank you for this….what LIARS they are.
and yes, I had friends here last night and I said exactly that…..BE AFRAID because OUR KIDS ARE PRIMED FOR AOC…no doubt about it…they will vote for someone who’s promising them the world. For FREE!!!

Bocopro…I don’t think she’s stupid, I think she’s EVIL, she doesn’t understand America is not a land created only to be ready for her hispanic bros and sisters….ready to welcome, pay for, and learn Spanish from, that’s all. She’s so off on nearly everything she says but says it with great conviction. Also, when have you seen her exhibit ‘fun’ or humor? By the way, “it’s very painful to admit you had advantages” if you’re born with a silver spoon in your mouth? No, only from her socialist idiot rich friends. And she sounds like Minnie Mouse.

I guess it’s not hatred I feel for her, not at all (tho it’s close) but I feel FEAR, UTTER FEAR that someone with these horrid anti American ideas is SO POPULAR…even the Right is making her MORE popular by publishing so much about her (as I DID, come to think of it..damn!!) 🙂

RE ENERGY and KID…..My stepdaughter says that, in Germany, the CHINESE own a lot…electric, water…She is TERRIFIED because on her 7 year sailing trip, she saw island after island’s fishing now CONTROLLED BY THE CHINESE…The natives are starving, can’t make a living because they CANNOT FISH due to Chinese recent laws…IT IS A NIGHTMARE.
THE CHINESE………coming to our electric and water companies, too…wait for it. Then we need to be scared. One shut-off and then what?

I’m hoping people care enough about birds to even pay attention to all that.

Mustang said pretty much all, and Bocopro did a good job of describing AOC. I have said for a long time that nobody elected to the US House of Representatives can be completely stupid. They may not be genius, but they are at least savvy enough to understand and practice power politics, and that ain’t easy.

It is a huge mistake for everybody to jump into criticism of the Green New Deal. By arguing about airplanes and cow farts, you are accepting the basic premise that there is a huge crisis facing the world in so-called climate change. You have already lost the argument be being suckered into talking about tangential things.

There is no impending climate catastrophe caused by man-made carbon dioxide emissions. Period. The Right has allowed itself to become side-tracked from this basic truth.

Z: I have criticized Tucker Carlson before on your blog, He is not adequate.

Mal, that’s the thing…we were paying far more than other countries in the Accord, then we watch our emissions and the rest of the world doesn’t.

Bob, I said that in my post….the Right MUST shut up about ‘no airplanes,’ etc because the media’s managed to make us look stupid for saying that’s part of it (tho it WAS) instead of making HER look stupid for ridiculous ideas. They did this when FOX first went on the air “that stupid conservative channel that’ll never make it” (it has, but he hate continues)…about Savage and Rush, and about Trump’s constant silly ‘birther’ thing…he shouldn’t have gone there…no matter if it’s true or not.

I disagree about Tucker; mostly…he was wrong here, and isn’t always right, but he fights harder back than a lot of the interviewers do, don’t you think?

Long time ago I occasionally tuned in to watch Hannity & Colmes. Got one thing from it — ONE:

I don’t listen to pundits any more.

Never watched O’Reilly (did read his stuff on line, tho)
    never watched Limbaugh
    won’t watch Coulter
    won’t watch Hannity
and I’ve never seen Tucker, except in excerpts somebody sent me.

Lemme say this about analysts and pundits and talking heads and “experts”:

We need a comprehensive, thorough, and deep study into the actual numbers of people who have changed their minds when confronted with evidence that contradicts their preconceived beliefs. And follow that one up with a survey of how many have changed their minds about politicians after arguing with total strangers about them on the internet.

Or, put another way, everything I know about B. Hussein Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Kamala Harris, Corey Booker, Maxine Waters, Sheila Jackson-lee, Elizabeth Warren, Nancy Pelosi, Joy Behar, Governor Northam, Justice Kavanaugh, Ruth Ginsburg, and Kim Kardashian, I learned against my will.

By the way . . . where the hell IS the Ginzborg?

Same with Coulter — admire her allusions and allegories and metaphors and the way she embeds ’em in her articles. Just don’t like watchin her talk.

From what I hear, Carlson is pretty good at explaining things, but is gettin too full of himself. Never saw him in action except in out-of-context excerpts.

Hope? Nah. Gave it up long ago. It’s either CWII or the asteroid. Onliest way the two sides could ever get together is if an alien invasion by the Tralfmadorians or somebody threatened us.

Here’s a Great example – I saw so many headlines on whatfinger.com the last week, to the effect that “President Trump could use the bla bla bla LAW/DOD/DHS/Excess $ thing to build the wall, he doesn’t need Congress”.

    Who cares.

Hey, Rep Gaetz is putting a bill forward to make sure Democrat operatives get investigated and suffer consequences the same way people who know Trump are (Manafort, Cohen, etc) Guess what the chances are of That bill getting passed in a democrat controlled house. Please, you idiot republicans, Please stop insulting our intelligence with you incessant 100% lip service BS.
We’re on to you (if not already) but surely after you passed 69 bills to repeal obamacare, but turned into submissive homosexuals when it became possible such a bill would actually get passed by the Senate and signed by the President. It’s disgustingly insulting.

The Wall is Being Built ! Trump Meets With Xi Jiningpining and seals a Trade Deal ! Yippee! Not even Major Kong can find a Nuke in N Korea ! Yahooooo ! The Hildebeast is Headed to Jail ! Hell, McCabe is headed to Jail ! Hell, Debbie Blabbermouth-Putz is headed to jail and taking Lois Lerner with her !

And I pity the generations who will never sit under a tree on a nice quiet afternoon or in a big ol’ chair by a fire on a wet soggy day or in the bowels or the signal bridge of a warship in the middle of an ocean and read Asimov or Rand or Heinlein or Faulkner or Clarke or Clemens or Vonnegut . . . slip thru that portal into the vast depths and wide reaches of another mind exploring strange new worlds and see whole universes never before dreamt of . . . ’tis the stuff of dreams with an awakening devoutly to be wished.

“Stranger in a Strange Land,” “The Nine Billion Names of God,” “I Robot,” “The Fountainhead” “Huck Finn” “Science, Numbers, and I” “Cat’s Cradle” . . . . . . .

Wonderful experience, that one-on-one joint quest for adventure and inspiration uncontaminated by directors or actors or special effects or sound enhancement . . . just the pure nekkid imagination of another more gifted mentality saying amazing things carefully crafted and never before said.

No high-speed pursuits, no prolonged crashes, no spectacular explosions, no gratuitous nudity, no disfigured corpses, no extraneous copulation, no blood . . . but I was ON that raft, and I WALKED on the Red Planet, and I HEARD the healthy laughter by Africans in those Southern kitchens, and I STARED into the emptiness of space between retreating galaxies.

And I wondered . . . and I learned . . . and I grew . . . and I’m not confident that humanity can retain its humanness without Shakespeare and Locke and Kant and Bradbury and Coleridge and Hemingway. And I sometimes feel like a Logan in that post-apocalyptic unreality, knowing that I have touched the sky and Sanctuary isn’t necessarily the paradise it’s supposed to be . . . the rainforest is, the desert is, the soil, the sea, the solitude is.
