FIRST VICTIM OF WAR

I BELIEVE I’VE NEVER SEEN BETTER ILLUSTRATED HOW TRUTH IS THE FIRST VICTIM OF WAR UNTIL NOW, AT LEAST IN AMERICA.    (ODDLY, THE FIRST SOLDIER ON THE FIRING LINE IS FROM ‘BILD,’ THE GERMAN NEWSPAPER THAT’S RATHER LIKE THE NATIONAL ENQUIRER.)

SO, MY PURPOSE OF POSTING THIS IMAGE, IF YOU’RE STILL READING, IS THIS;

HOW DOES THIS GET FIXED?   AND WHAT CAN WE DO TO SEE THAT IT IS?  HOW DO WE GET TRUTHFUL MEDIA BACK?   because…………

Those of us who understand that we must protect our history must continue to do so out loud. Our history, both good and bad must be protected. While we made mistakes as as a country, we have built a country that is the envy of the world. Our economic system has lifted millions from poverty. Our justice system has ensured human dignity and civil rights and has become the protector of the people. We have defeated tyranny in every century of our existence. Our Constitution is the best on earth. It is the only document that limits government’s power in favor of protecting individual liberty and puts it all in writing. The Bill of Rights is ground breaking in making a contract between the government and the people. We must continue to be loud in our praise. I believe the majority of Americans still believe. Sometimes they are not loud, but they are out there.

I agree with LaOT. Pretty much the only course open to us besides mobs and violence is to keep telling and supporting the truth. As I have always said, even this blog progresses toward that goal.

I do my little part almost everyday by trolling the Yahoo news stuff, and others, throwing the BS flag on millennials and dumber people is my approach. I do it without rancor, and try to lead them into actual discussions. Usually after the first comment, I am classified as old and need to take my meds. I always agree. It is my job to impart wisdom to the witless. I don’t think it is working, but it can be fun.

All we can do is keep on keeping on.

My daily rant touches on this. Here are the first 4 paragraphs:
    ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Back in the 60s or 70s (I was out of country during many of those years) a spoof spy comedy show was popular on TV.  One of the tricks of the trade it parodied was the “cone of silence” where operatives could talk with their supervisors without fear of being overheard.  It always seemed for one reason or another to only confuse things, according to the guys who told me about it.

Today people such as Nadler, Schiff, Tlaib, Gillebrand, O’Rourke, Booker, Cummings, Pelosi, and others are apparently spending way too much time under the “cone of nonsense” and coming out with their brains scrambled.

The problem with the brainwashed liberals is not so much that they believe the propaganda the’ve been piggin out on but that when they’re shown how flawed their ideas, how impractical their plans, how catastrophic their policies will be, they refuse to believe it and automatically revert to the indoctrination they’ve been immersed in for decades.

It’s like trying to cure alcoholics, or morphine addicts, or pedophiles . . . truth and common sense mean nothing.  Pictures, examples, statistics mean nothing.  All that matters is the mantra, the resistance, the anti-Trumpism, the unrelenting harassment of anything one step right of far-left thinking.
    ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
It’s like Ron White has said: “You can’t fix stupid.” And Nadler’s needle is stuck on it, along with most of the MSM.

  4. My method: never shut up, never give up fighting the good fight. Frustrating, though.

As for the mainstream media, they can neither be reformed nor redeemed. 😦

America’s media has always had a partisan bias. Always. If you think it is bad now (and it is), take a look at some earlier examples of the fourth estate, particularly in its attack of President Washington and members of his cabinet. Beyond our refusal to buy ultra-leftist news rags, or our refusal to watch CNN, MSNBC, etc., there is nothing we can do about this insipid behavior except, as already said, speak in a loud voice while pushing back. We don’t have to resort to personal attacks; all we must do is speak the truth … and then try to deal with the standard leftist retort “who’s truth?” To the left, all truth is relative.

What L.O.T. said. Agreed. Our mistake was knowing liberal anti-American professors were being hired at the university level back in the ’60’s and not doing anything about then. It all started there. Those are today’s voters. Our only hope is that enough of them are smart enough to understand the perils of accepting all the B.S. being aired by the media. It appears they are because they did during the last election so maybe theres still hope. Also, the Radical Fab Four are unknowingly assisting us in that endeavor.

Ed, you made my sad point. The Free Beacon is a CONSERVATIVE paper…..Conservatives DO what they can to get the truth out. We all have countless examples/links of that.
    The LIbs do NOT…not usually.

Mustang, of course there’s always been bias….but NOTHING LIKE THIS…And, of course, we didn’t always have internet, etc.

My point would be to add that IT’S WHEN EVERY STINKIN’ REPORTER GOT A BYLINE….I’ve said this many times before and I believe I’m correct in suggesting it was when we even learned the name of the weather girl that the weather got more dramatic! HA!, that’s pretty good, if I do say so myself! ANd true.

In the days of better journalism, people actually REPORTED THE NEWS…only big news people like Cronkite, Rather, etc., got BYLINES…….that meant those were their opinions, usually…..
not anymore…EVERYBODY gets their name, so EVERYBODY wants to out dramatize the next writer so BIAS comes SPRINGING FORWARD in the attempts to notoriety and bigger $$$.

    BOCOPRO…good stuff….you are SO RIGHT.

AOW, you have always fought the good fight….(you don’t have your radio show anymore, right?)

L&OT “We must continue to be loud in our praise. I believe the majority of Americans still believe. “…BUT, under a certain age,
we don’t. Maybe we adults do, but our children are systematically taught the negatives without any context. in other words:
    It seems that:
    ONLY GEO> WASHINGTON HAD SLAVES
ONLY AMERICA DIDN’T CARE ABOUT SLAVERY
THE CIVIL WAR WASN’T REALLY ABOUT SLAVERY (the new meme)
DEMOCRATS GOT THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT PASSED (they fought it, this is a lie or kids believe)
REPUBLICANS DON’T CARE ABOUT CLEAN AIR OR WATER
    ALL CONSERVATIVE NEWS IS LIES

    We all could go on……………..

BOB, yes, I think that’s all we can do. I sometimes comment at Yahoo and I’ve tended to get more and more CONSERVATIVE in my comments…I used to hide a little and kind of ‘smartly’ make comments where you’d wonder which side I’m ON so that people took me more seriously…I don’t anymore….I mock the Left with facts, etc….and I AM HAVING FUN!

BOB is RIGHT…Sadly, all we can really do is KEEP ON KEEPIN’ ON!!

Oh my gosh, bp, how many times have I quoted that ‘cone of silence’ vis-a-vis the media. Good analogy! We’re in a war and can’t sit passively on the sidelines. That means being informed of and promoting what’s true. Our manner is important! (NOT this: https://nationalstraightpridecoalition.org, scroll down far enough to the clinker that impugns the rest of the truth).

Prager always says “truth is not a leftwing value.” He’s careful to add that doesn’t mean they’re all liars, but don’t recoil from lies when it’s the weapon that works. The diehards, the antifa brownshirts will not be won by truth, but millions in between will. That’s why Google is doing what it can to squelch Prager’s 5 minute videos. They ARE winning over many young people. And not just conservatives who need a voice, but lefty student leaders domestically and overseas. So we can start by supporting the tip of his spear with our $$$ and using that info in our daily conversations with others.

Baysider, ANTIFA literally makes me laugh….ANTI FASCIST? Yet THESE are the people who, while I don’t use this term loosely or often, are THE FASCISTS….they’re the definition of fascism, they’re against FREE SPEECH, THEY BELIEVE IN HURTING PEOPLE WHO DON’T AGREE WITH THEM, ETC…They’re the ones keeping our students scared to speak out if they have a different point of view than the far Left.

But,as usual, Wiki says FASCISM “…is a form of radical right-wing, authoritarian ultranationalism[1][2] characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition and strong regimentation of society and of the economy[3] which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe.[

    RIGHTWING…those were the days….NOT ANYMORE!

Well, here is how Abraham Lincoln dealt with a lying press.

Lincoln loses patience: Papers closed, editors arrested
By mid-May 1864, Lincoln’s patience with the oppositional Copperhead press had begun to fray. What triggered Lincoln’s wrath was a bogus item that appeared in two Copperhead newspapers out of New York — the Journal of Commerce and the World. The papers ran a fake story that reported a presidential proclamation to the effect that the Lincoln administration was about to draft 400,000 men. According to Tedford and Herbeck, “Lincoln ordered the two newspapers closed and their owners arrested and imprisoned. The Independent Telegraph System, which had transmitted the story, was seized by the military and its transmissions stopped.”

We are now in a civil war and the stakes are as high as they were then.
