The basic philosophy of Saudi fundamentalism is that human males are so utterly incapable of controlling themselves where women are concerned that the sexes must be separated by physical distance, religious dogma, obscuring shrouds, and mindless suspicion.
Ethics, morals, and values in Saudi Arabia are so alien to the American mindset that for us to deal with them reasonably would be like arranging table settings for a pack of hyenas at an antelope road kill.
Saudis are the epitome of flashing teeth and flashing knives. They’ll smile while slitting your throat and justify it by your being an unclean infidel. Where we honor integrity, honesty, friendship, and justice, they promote deceit, deception, dishonor, and greed.
Saudi Arabia is a fervid supporter and mass exporter of Wahhabism, aka religious extremism, intolerance, and misogyny. It is a puritanical zealot which believes all things, including friendship and loyalty, can be purchased with oil Riyals. It is the classic “My way or the Hi-way” state governed by a corrupt, damaged, incestuous “royal” mob.
Planet earth would be a far better place if Riyadh, Mecca, Cairo, Tehran, Qom, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Ankara followed the example of Carthage, as in Cato’s “Carthago delenda est.”
For us to believe they will ever consider us “friends” or that we can trust them socially, economically, culturally, or philosophically is indeed insane. No other nation states are as untrustworthy as Saudi Arabia – except, of course, the equally loony Iran and the psychotic NorKor, and a few in sub-Saharan Africa, and China, and most of Central America . . . and I’m not too sure about Indonesia.

I don’t know what the answer is to Saudi Arabia or Islam, in general. They inflict misery, suffering, violence & subjugation wherever they are in control. The HATE is impossible for mere mortals to change. For this we must turn to God & pray for miracles.

I hope we don’t have to go to war against Iran. We’ve sacrificed too many American lives and wasted far too much money trying to bring peace to the Middle East. I think Saudi Arabia should fight their own battles, sacrifice and PAY for it themselves.
The only time Saudi Arabia acts friendly to us is when they need us to fight for & protect them. They seize every opportunity to screw us over when they’re not being threatened.

BOcopro…right…and our biggest mistake is thinking all people think like we do……and we keep doing that; it’s like poor Trump believing ‘love letters’ to him from Xi and Kim and saying how good they are to their people and blah blah……THEY DO NOT LIKE HIM! They are SMART and CUNNING and are playing our media against him, too. Their letters say one thing, their actions, sometimes a day after the letter, are quite different. HELLO??
Back to MUSLIMS: As my Uber driver, an Armenian from Iran, said to me the other day to my question “Did you trust Muslims when you lived in Iran? Many people won’t trust them at all, surely some are nice…” He said “I haven’t met one yet who is trustworthy….not ONE.”
He went on to discuss something I’d suspected for a long time:
I said “What about the Christian Muslims?” He said they ‘convert’ because they can get papers to get the heck OUT of Iran or other Muslim countries easier….that they’re really NOT converting.
I personally have a Persian woman in my Bible Study group who is from Iran and is more Christian than maybe all of us rolled together….I believe her family was Muslim, but she and her husband and very modern four sons who live here are NOT….they’re actors, great guys.
SO, yes, there are many exceptions but not that many in Iran, according to him!

I hope we don’t go to war, either…….LET SAUDIS LOSE MONEY AND YOUNG PEOPLE…..we owe them NOTHING.

I have no idea why we suppoprt Saudi Arabia. Never have. Maybe we needed oil that bad at one time when we built the infrastructure but we sure don’t now.

By the way, did you hear a Middle School teacher in North Carolina told her class that Mike Pence should be shot in the head? The article says it has “caused controversy”…”CONTROVERSY?” That’s IT??? And nearly every article says the teacher “allegedly” did this…I’m thinking if students heard it, it’s not alleged anymore.

As usual, Bocopro turns on his magic fingers and articulates things is ways only he can. I looked up the phrase, “Carthago delenda est”, even going back to my first year Latin lessons to learn the obvious, that Carthage is to be destroyed (ended?). In this case I would like to say “Persia delenda erit” , Persia shall be ended. How about the song-worthy, Bomb Iran?

Z: My wife and I used to really like Cokie Roberts. However, at some point she went to the dark side and her opinions became less penetrating and more progressively dogmatic. Her day was Hele Boggs, (D) Louisiana, and she was steeped in the dogma of the church of the liberal mind from childhood.

Well, like Kid pointed out, we did the original drilling in the Middle East, but I’m wondering if we would’ve had we known what it would lead to. If we hadn’t, eventually someone else undoubtedly would’ve.
Oil moves the entire world economy. When the price of crude was pretty stable at $2 / barrel, the prices of everything was stable. In April, 1973, they created a “shortage” until they raised the price to $10 / barrel, then another “shortage” again in 1978. Remember the long gas lines at the stations? The prices of everything, from homes, food, utilities, etc. rose along with oil because everybody is impacted by gas. Even if we went completely solar, we would still need oil byproducts for asphalt paving, plastic, etc.
The Muslims all know this and use it to their advantage. Trump is doing the right thing. If he doesn’t, who else will? It should never have gotten to this point and been addressed long ago.
Will we end up in a war? We sure hope not, but more than oil is involved. Religion is, too, if you want to call what they believe in a religion.

Mal and L&OT….Yes, we needed their oil badly at one time and yes, we financed their drilling…this is why my Mr. Z used to say SO OFTEN “WE got them their oil, now they’re completely messing with us as they’re so rich they can’t even count it..” He was NO FAN.
I think Mal has a point….Iran’s just ASKING for it, but I honestly find myself questioning Trump’s intel or his interpretation of it anymore, sadly, and I’m not sure HOW we’ll know IRAN FINANCED THE YEMENI DRONES.
If it is Iran (and I’m sure Yemen hasn’t the money, though they say these drones aren’t THAT Pricey, then what?
What if they continue hitting the oil hard? What if they hit US? I don’t want war, FOR SURE, but I sure don’t want our East Coast hit…………and yet, our Leftwingers will believe Iran ANY DAY over Trump…they’ll freak OUT if he hits them unless he shows absolute proof IN WRITING.
One of OUR biggest problems now is our media hates America so much they’ll do anything but support it, believe it, be truthful about it….that’s REALLY SCARY.

A few things to remember (from time to time)
• The Middle East is a sewer, has always been a sewer, and will always be a sewer.
• There is no place in the Middle East that is suitable for having a war.
• Semites have been at each other’s throats for thousands of years. There is nothing we could do, or should do, to change that.
• It might have been a good idea, if the USA was going to develop autonomous weapons, to keep them a secret. It will not serve America’s interests if some third-world cesspool ends up using our technology against us.
• The Saudis did not do enough thinking before they mired themselves in Yemeni affairs. And, by the way, the Saudis are also behind the civil war in Syria. Perhaps now, with their oil fields ablaze, they’ve gotten their comeuppance.
• I know a Marine who served as a military advisor to the Saudis. He has nothing good to say about these people, which tends to reinforce my own beliefs.
• If there is one thing we ought not forget, it is that the Saudis were behind the attacks on 9/11. Beyond their oil production, to hell with them.
