If you are a believer, I’d like to know what kinds of things confirm your belief?

Are there things you think about and believe “Only GOD could do THAT…”?

I like COINCIDENCES but I don’t really believe in them anymore.  That is, I don’t believe they ‘just happen’………Then, the other day, I heard there is no word for COINCIDENCE in Hebrew, one of the languages of the Bible!  I found that fascinating!  I’ve called them GOD-INCIDENCES for the last few years.  Sometimes, I do think “WOW, that had to be GOD!”

I just searched for a COINCIDENCE image and found that Einstein agreed!!  WHO KNEW?

Have a fabulous Sunday!

  1. That Albert Einstein himself believed in God …. only God could do that, Z. What a wonderful post you’ve shared this morning. You can’t know this…. but I really – REALLY – needed it this morning.

I’m bordering on despair today …. worried about our country and troubled by the vicious attack underway in DC. Your post here reminds me that there are much bigger powers than those we mere mortals have. Thank you for that.

I’ll tell you a little story about my sister, Cindy, and her 60th birthday trip we planned for over a year to Hutchinson Island, Florida, which is one hour north of West Palm Beach. Her 60th birthday was March 1st, 2018 and Cindy, my youngest sister, Chris, her best friend, Yoda (Linda) and I all planned to meet in Florida to celebrate her special birthday for a few days. We paid for everything ahead of time.

Tragedy struck 4 days prior to our trip… our ex-sister-in-law, Christy, lost her battle with brain cancer, glioma, and died. Christy and our brother, Ray, had one daughter, Brittany, who had recently married and this loss hit her terribly hard, as you can imagine. We went back and forth for a couple of days and ultimately (sadly) decided to keep our plans to go to Florida.

On the morning of her funeral (March 1st) in Michigan, the 4 of us, got up before dawn and went down to the beach and had our own memorial sunrise service as the we watched the sun come up. We lit candles and each of us said something … then we all said the Lord’s Prayer together. Afterward, we released flowers into the ocean and watched them float out to sea. It was the closest to God I’ve ever felt. And I feel that way everytime I’m at the beach and watch the sun come up over the ocean. Only God can do that. It’s absolutely affirmation of His presence and existence. God in all His Glory. So magnificent, beautiful, peaceful and reassuring.

Hope you have a wonderful day, Z and all of your Geeezers! Thank you again for this post today!

There are so many things I could write about knowing that God loves me and has saved me and I am in His life. I’ll just write what happened yesterday. I was at my yoga class and decided to leave 10 minutes early. When I came home, I heard this piercing noise which I thot might be a smoke alarm. I rushed into my bedroom and there was my 21 year old speaker to my computer smoking just ready to erupt into flame. And I could smell the burnt wiring. The terribly loud noise was from the speaker as it was biting the dust, I guess. I quickly thot, “should I get the fire extinguisher”? But I turned it off and unplugged the speakr first and the smoke began to recede. Good thing I didn’t use the extinguisher as a friend said you don’t spray water on electrical equipment. Had I been five minutes later, it would have erupted in flames for sure. My two little cats went into hiding, and didn’t reappear for about an hour. Don’t know how long that piercing noise was going on but it must have traumatized them for sure. I praise God that I left 10 minutes early. And that I got home in time to stop my speaker from bursting into flame. A coincidence? I think not. God has our backs!

FW, thank YOU for sharing this……Sorry about the loss to your family but thrilled that you felt God while honoring Christy, poor thing…and still do at the beach, etc.
I’m so glad you were touched by this post.

As a matter of fact, I heard this ‘coincidence’ line about there being no word in Hebrew for it Thursday morning, and realized I wrote my post without thinking of it, THEN it came to my mind and I knew it was a perfect addition to asking about what makes us confirm our beliefs!?!! HOW and WHY did I think of the COINCIDENCE line I’d heard?! And then to Google an image for it and to find EINSTEIN said THAT? Talk about a REAL GOD INCIDENCE!!!

Thanks so much, FW…..God is HERE.

Your question brings to mind several emails I received recently from a friend regarding Angels and their existence, esp. Guardian Angels. They had so many instances of folks that have experienced seeing them it makes one stop and wonder. I believe we’ve all heard about folks that have temporarily died, then revived, during with time they experienced something so beautiful they didn’t want to return, but were told they had to because it wasn’t their time, etc.
    Twilight Zone?

All I can say is I don’t believe all of this life on Earth came from a pool of chemicals or fish walking out onto land.

It’s like that idiot concept that a room full of monkeys and typewriters could bang out war and peace word for word given enough time. No they couldn’t. Simple as that.

As far as deciding whether something is coincidence or miracle is a bit tougher to get a handle on for me. I’ve been personally involved in things that could be labeled miracles, but I don’t believe they were. How about a pickup truck with a boat trailer and boat attached ram through the guard rail and land on a small outcropping and come to a stop rather than traveling another few feet and falling several hundred feet down ? (An image I’ve seen but can’t find but surely we’ve all seen things like this where it’s less than an inch between life and death.) Physics of the situation or miracle? I can’t call it. Eye of the beholder.

I believe I saw that same example, Kid. Everyone was standing around with puzzled looks on their faces, wondering “how the heck…………….?”

So yesterday I was in charge of music for a Retreat…..SOmething told me days ago to pick a song…When I introduced it, our speaker who followed our singing said “Amazing…how’d you know? We had that song at our wedding!” This happens ALL the time… ALL the time. I pick a song with certain meaning and our lecturer emails back”Perfect, that’s exactly what I’m speaking on…how’d you KNOW?”

SO SO many times…that’s no coincidence; that’s just so everything runs right 🙂

Kid, I think plenty of things seem like miracles but are just things going right…I agree. I think it’s largely in the eye of the beholder, until it happens so much…or when your faith’s become stronger and the fruit start appearing. Very weird. Very nice.
