Best humor I’ve seen re the virus is a parody by Grimes & Co.

If you can’t get this one to play, just google “grimes coronavirus bohemian rhapsody parody.”

It’s by far wunnadabest I ever seed.

I can’t imagine anyone in Nawth Murka with functioning auditories not having heard Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

And if you don’t appreciate the workup (which does, I’ll admit, work a little too hard for an ending), then maybe you oughta see your primary care manager, ‘cuz you definally got a fevah!

  2. Many people are buying guns.
Given how people normally react to each other in close confinement, maybe people will be very polite to each other, now.

i CAN’T HELP, BUT, THINKING THAT THOSE WHO PUT THIS PARODY TOGETHER, MUST HAVE HAD A REALLY, A GREAT TIME, PLAYING WITH THE WORDS. CAN YOU IMAGINE BEING IN THE ROOM WHERE ALL THE IDEAS FOR THIS, WERE BEING DISCUSSED? WHAT A HOOT, THAT MUST HAVE BEEN. WISH I WAS THERE TO WITNESS THAT BACK AND FORTH BANTER,ON WHICH WORDS TO USE AND WHERE TO USE THEM. SO CLEVER, AND REALLY GREAT PRODUCTION. THOSE GREAT VOICES WERE, ALSO, SO PERFECTLY, ON POINT.

    SIDE NOTE:
I saw Queen play this song at the Santa Monica Civic Center, back in the 80’s, when “The Bohemian Rhapsody” was the only song anybody had ever heard of, from them, and they opened the show with it, Freddie Mercury was standing behind a white, door sized panel and back-lit. 1st words were “I see a little silhouette of a man, scada mush, scada mush can you do the fandango”. he then burst thru the paper panel and the concert was, rocketed, on it’s way..I remember thinking, well now the played their best cut so what else do they have. Boy was I surprised, how many great and timeless songs they had, Been a Queen Fan ever since. Giver me shivers thinking back, just had to share it with you.

Bocopro, do you read my posts? Hoping you found them fun. Got a cold, don’t think I have a fever.
Had seen this and MANY very cute parodies; I think the humor of the thing is what’s keeping us going, huh?

Ed, guns? You must be delighted!!

Hi, Bunk….I was told the old people line at Ralph’s was from7:30 -8…I got there just before 8…everybody’s inside; Absolutely no different than at 3, which REALLY ticked me OFF because I didn’t sleep well again and could have had another hour or two if my alarm hadn’t gone off to get there and shop safely. Which I did not do.
Nuts all OVER the place and NUTS TO THE STORE 🙂 BUT, I am better stocked than I was yesterday.
Gad, I have a slight cold and was SO scared I’d have to blow my nose or, GOD FORBID, SNEEEEZE IN PUBLIC! 🙂 I could see everybody ducking for cover!! HAAAA

CHUCK: I LOVE LOVE LOVE stories like that, thanks for telling us. Imagine to see Freddie in person and yup, WHAT good music. Did you see his movie a couple of years ago? I heard it was marvelous. you MUST.
“Like being married but with a cough” just slayed me! 🙂 haaaaaaaaaaa!

So glad my hubby doesn’t have to go through this. Or seeing our country fall apart (As you know because of Alex, he was German and probably loved our country than many Americans do)…He died unexpectedly early…we thought we’d have another two years, according to the experts…but Cedars Sinai took water off his lungs and I’m certain they punctured a lung so he didn’t wake up the next morning. Ugh. ..still hard to think about. Anyway, a month or two before he died, he’d been quite tired a lot of the time and a friend said she was going to the Tea Party event at the Fed Bldg on Wilshire…Mr. Z says to me “We’re going TO!” “WHAT? You’re exhausted!!”
We had to go….we parked not far away, thank God…there were at least 800 people there….we start walking toward the crowd and he flags a bit , says “You go ahead…I’ll get there” AS IF I WOULD..but I’ll never forget his saying that. We got there and HE WAS ALIVE. The man who’d walked so slowly suddenly saw Americans with flags, people honking and waving going by, some political celebs, SUCH enthusiasm….and HE WAS ALIVE! I’ve never seen anything like it. He really did love America………
By the way, Chuck…you know Alex, right? He was just published in the premier German car magazine…he and his 4 Audis..the classic being the one he took back last year, the first Audi of its class and year (1971, I think? ) in America. WHich is now in Munich!!

THIS IS THE TRUTH FROM MY STEPSON IN GERMANY: GET KLEENEX…SAY GOODBYE TO GERMANY :-(, a country I LOVE very much:

“It seems extraordinarily bizarre, but it is the reality in Merkel year 2020: the current entry bans at Germany’s borders due to the corona crisis explicitly do not apply to so-called asylum seekers. The Federal Ministry of the Interior confirmed this happily on request. Germany has been controlling its borders with France, Switzerland and Luxembourg since last week. No foreigner can enter the country without good reason. There are exceptions for goods traffic and commuters – and for first class people in Germany: asylum seekers .”

Skud…Ya, I saw a video where a guy goes into a 7 Eleven and pays with sheets of TP…thank goodness for HUMOR.

What’s terribly UNfunny is what I just commented with above….I’m heartsick. How the HELL stupid can Merkel (who is in quarantine protecting herself, of course) GO?

“Bocopro, do you read my posts?”

Well, yeah . . . but there wasn’t a whole lot to read in this’n, so the question is a bit puzzling.

Sometimes my reaction is sorta oblique, non-traditional, askance . . . resulting from a lifetime of trying to look at things from different perspectives than those of the rank & file.

Occasionally I have nothing of interest to say, so I say that, especially if someone else has already voiced what the topic dredged up in my sometimes turgid thought pool.

Boco; ya, this wasn’t a good example………..Just had to tease you.
And yes, I warned the friend who wrote that terrific rant which I posted the other day that people may not comment at all because when they agree with everything, what’s there to SAY?
So true. Thankfully, some of you DID chime in so I felt good for him to have been acknowledged!!!

Sending you a hug, you great thinker, you!

Growin up the only child in a house fulla adults in the 40s, I got my full share of teasing.

Then I hooked up with a fiery southeast Asian/Spanish mestiza, and I can assure you the teasing never abated.

Of course raising two daughters provided me with all the eyerolls and and wheedling and sarcasm and manipulative doubletalk a guy could ever need.

You ain’t gittin no virgin here.

My daddy had FIVE daughters…you want to talk teasing! 🙂 He killed us with horrible puns… if we were ironing he’d say “You got a pressing problem?” Having fish “just for the halibut?” etc..
I told him that’s why I moved OUT! ADORED that man. By the way, he had FAR better humor but he could get CORNY! I’ll bet you can sling some corn, too! ???
