Do you think that anything really could have been done earlier in fighting this virus had the impeachment nightmare not gone on?  Lots of people are saying Trump was too busy with that to have paid much attention to rumors of a strange and dangerous virus.  So it’s the Dems fault, they infer.  Think so?

ALSO:  Did you hear that Adam Schitt (oops! I’m SO SORRY!.  No, I’m not!) is considering having hearings over how Trump’s folks have been handling this crisis?

TELL ME THIS ISN’T ABOUT THE ELECTION!    Also, since the Trump ratings are high on the “How do you think Trump’s handling this thing?” question, isn’t it a bit STUPID for Schiff to even consider that action?

And now the media’s lying and saying Nancy Pelosi is going to altruistically overlook a task force of her own in making sure government checks get to the people when, in reality, she discussed overlooking the mistakes Trump was making with that, not just reassuring Americans they’d get theirs.   #$()*&@#$(@*&$#(@#&$(*

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT ANY OF THIS?

No . . . a variant of the SARS or other seasonal contagions wouldn’t bother the political preoccupation of our “leaders” until the entire coastal megalopolis structure was completely engulfed in a tidal wave of corpses.

As to Schiff, he’s delusional in his blinding obsession to evict the nonconformist DJT and replace him with a properly indoctrinated progressive liberal.

He’s completely manic with his idée fixe compulsion to impeach the brash Noo Yawkuh who interrupted Her Rotten Heinous’s coronation and apotheosis.

Schiff needs to be evicted from the solar system on an intercept course for the galactic SMBH (supermassive black hole) at Warp VI in a ship piloted by Pelosi with Schumer in the engine room and Nadler in the bilges.

We in the NY/NJ have had years of the Cuomos starting with the late governor Mario King Cuomo I,and for the past several decades Andrew King Cuomo II. It seems that New Yorkers cannot live without being under the thumb of a self serving arrogant corrupt anti-cop anti-governor in Albany not unlike we in New Jersey who demand our state house occupant be occupied by porcine offal.
I mention Cuomo since he has been campaigning for president on the back of the virus. And while he and mayor Bill Big Bird de Blasio, senators Chuckey Cheese Schumer and Kirsten not even worthy of a nickname Gillibrand fiddled and did nothing to prepare the world’s number one target for terrorist attacks this Greek chorus blames Trump.
The left wing media broadcasts King Cuomo II’s corona diatribes daily while ignoring DJT other to tear him a new a-hole each and every day.

As for Schiff and Pelosi were they to mate they would produce a drunken pencil necked weasel. These two sniveling wretches are the epitome of what’s wrong in the land of fruits and nuts and taco huts; as well as in Washington DC. Seemingly though their constituents can’t get enough of either one as they promote the breakdown of law and order, cities rampant with crime, gang violence, the homeless and streets laced with fecal matter while they wallow in the halls of congress propagating falsehoods to support their unsubstantiated claims for the need to impeach the president who stands for everything they hate.

The following from Investors Business Daily:

Ethics: As Democrats demonize Wall Street CEOs as the “greedy” fiends of the financial crisis, they’ve lined their own pockets — both before and after the crisis. Nancy Pelosi’s just the latest example.

The then former House speaker allegedly gamed financial reforms to boost her personal stock portfolio. The brewing scandal is complicated, but here’s the Reader’s Digest version:

After a Pelosi staffer left to lobby on behalf of credit-card giant Visa, Pelosi delayed bringing to the House floor a bill to end lucrative “swipe fees” for Visa and other credit providers.

The bill couldn’t have come at a worse time for Visa. It planned to launch an $18 billion public stock offering, so stalling Hill action became a priority. The San Francisco-based company curried favor with Pelosi by pumping cash into her re-election efforts, earning its CEO a rare one-on-one meeting with the speaker.

At the same time, Visa offered her husband a VIP cut of the IPO. Paul Pelosi jumped at the offer, buying 5,000 shares at the $44 initial price. In a couple of days, the shares soared to $64. Pelosi later bought 15,000 more, raising the total value of his investment to about $5 million. In the end, the legislation Visa fought starting in 2007 was forestalled two full years.

Publicly, Nancy Pelosi has been a frequent critic of the financial industry. The commission she impaneled in 2009 to investigate the root causes of the crisis summarily indicted Wall Street honchos, while exonerating guilty Democrats, including several who had their hands in the subprime pot. Among them

Franklin Raines, Fannie Mae’s CEO through 2005, who helped plunge the government-sponsored mortgage giant into the subprime abyss, while cooking Fannie’s books to score fatter bonuses for himself and other Clinton Democrats on its board. Despite holding 20 hearings and 700 interviews, Pelosi’s commission never found room for Raines on the witness list. One of the prime suspects in the crisis got off scot-free.

Henry Cisneros, Clinton’s housing chief who strong-armed Countrywide Financial into signing “fair lending” contracts that exposed it to billions in risky subprime loans. Cisneros later joined Countrywide’s board. (Pelosi’s son also worked for Countrywide.)

Rahm Emanuel, who served on Freddie Mac’s board, where he pocketed $320,000 before making millions working for an investment banker in Chicago that brokered high-cost subprime loans to minorities.

Barney Frank, who was one of Fannie’s and Freddie’s biggest protectors — and beneficiaries of their political donations — on Capitol Hill. Frank landed a plum Fannie job for his gay partner, Herb Moses, whose work involved relaxing Fannie’s restrictions on home loans. Frank previously led the House committee charged with oversight of Fannie, which also gave at least $25,000 to Frank’s mother’s charity in Boston. His glaring conflicts of interest were never investigated.

Chris Dodd, the ex-Democratic senator who scored not one, but two sweetheart Countrywide mortgages, while protecting Fannie as head of the Senate committee charged with oversight of Fannie. Countrywide was Fannie’s biggest customer.

Dodd and Frank did more than any other lawmakers to cover up the risks Fannie and Freddie took meeting government-imposed affordable lending quotas. Yet they got to write the law to supposedly stop the next financial crisis — one that doesn’t even lay a glove on Fannie and Freddie, who together held or guaranteed almost half the subprime and other bad loans in the system when it crashed in 2008.

Maxine Waters, senior Democratic member of the House banking committee who defended Raines by arguing that reining him in would only hurt lending to lower-income and minority households

After the subprime crisis, Waters allegedly swung $12 million in federal bailout money to her husband’s ailing minority bank. Regulators cited One United Bank for poor lending practices and excessive executive pay and perks — including providing its CEO a $6 million mansion and a Porsche SUV. The Waters at the time owned more than $350,000 in One United stock.

It wasn’t the first time Waters used her power to advance the interests of the bank. In 2002, when her husband first became a shareholder in OneUnited, the bank (then known as Boston Bank of Commerce) tried to purchase Family Savings, another minority-owned bank in Los Angeles. But when the thrift turned instead to a suitor in Illinois, Waters tried to block the merger by contacting FDIC regulators. Her efforts paid off. The thrift ended up merging with her husband’s bank

Waters remains one of Washington’s most outspoken critics of “greedy” Wall Street bankers — whom she says conspired with Republicans to create the crisis.

But Democrats ought to look in the mirror. Their colleague Jon Corzine wasn’t just tied to Wall Street bankers. He was one — and one of the worst.

As a Democratic senator and governor of New Jersey, Corzine decried income inequality and Wall Street pay. Then he joined MF Global Holdings and bagged a $14 million compensation package — including $2 million in guaranteed bonuses, regardless of performance

It took Corzine just 18 months to run the Wall Street brokerage into the ground with risky bets on euro zone debt. Just hours before filing for bankruptcy, Corzine continued paying out executive bonuses, mimicking the actions of Wall Street CEOs he had criticized during the crisis
The list of financial “greed” and sleaze on the left is long. What a bunch of hypocrites.

As a kid in the late 40s I lived on the edge of town with the closest structure to the house being a Marathon gas station. Price in those days was under twenty cents/gallon. And a new car was in the $1400 range.

Minimum wage was W-A-Y under a buck an hour, and a kid could mow a lawn or two on a Saturday mornin, get a quarter or so, go to the LIdo (movie house on the wrong side of town) in the afternoon, watch a double-feature shoot-em up with Hopalong Cassidy or Lash Larue or the Cisco Kid, have a coke and a box of popcorn, and then go across the street to Leopold’s bakery and get a dozen day-old plain donuts for a nickel.

Go home broke, but a good day nonetheless.

I bought a 1969 Chevelle SS 396 for $3495, out the door. I had a pocketful of combat pay and wanted to pay cash, but the dealership had a rule that it couldn’t hold more than $2000 on site. Made me walk to the bank (2 blocks away), open an account, deposit the sale amount, and sign the account over to ’em.

In 1958 or so, I took a girlfriend downtown Indianapolis to see a premiere. Had bailed hay that week and had a lotta cash. Took a Jackson bill with me, watched the movie, had burgers, fries, and shakes on the way back to our home town, and had a Hamilton and some loose change in my pocket when I got home.

OK. Did that non-stop political version of the Normandy invasion affect the administration’s (and Congress’ !!) ability to stay focused on business? Yes! This virus is an unusual event – an actual problem after 50 years of crying wolf about one crisis after another (including ‘2M will die from the bird flu’ and no one did). But the early stories were drowned out by the pot and pan bangers wanting to ‘get Trump.’ I think it was a factor.

As for the Buchanan piece, I remember how the bubonic plagues re-shaped history, opened the door to Islamic invasion of the civilized world, and provided the leverage to end serfdom. Bush and Sharansky were wrong about peoples’ deepest yearning for freedom. No doubt – it’s strong and deep. But not as much as the desire for safety. A lot of damage is already being done for safety’s sake, and this event will stoke the fires of many opportunists of the authoritarian variety. Peter, over 50 years ago I worked for FNMA (1967-68) when it was converting from a government agency to what it is now (a quasi-private/gov’t. corp.). They did this because up till that time FNMA only bought gov’t. loans (FHA & VA) and I was asked if I wanted to come aboard for the 11th District in L.A. because of my conventional loan background to aid in the transition (I was in the S & L field as a V.P., Loan Officer & Sr. Appraiser). FNMA was sold via stock purchased by the companies that sold to them (Banks, S & L’s, Mortgage Companies, etc). Congress always passed funding for FNMA because it was only one of two agencies of the Gov’t that made money (the other USE to be the U.S. Post Office!) and I wondered why would they want to sell it, but they did and you know the rest. It was sad to watch.

Craig, who sent this comment which went into MODERATION, is a liberal who I used to spar with.
Glad to see he’s still reading GeeeZ, just wish some of what we write here had sunken in.

“Hi Z, Peter mentioned Zappa’s appearance on Joe Pine. Joe was a far right provocateur like Morton Downey but before Downey. Joe also had a prosthetic leg. Legend has it, Joe asked Frank, “So, I guess your long hair makes you a woman”. Frank didn’t miss a beat and replied, “So, I guess your wooden leg makes you a table”. (CRAIG; THAT is funny)
Here is an interesting article on Pres. Trump’s response to Covid. Hope you read it.”

I can’t read it because I don’t subscribe to that publication…but I saw the title when I tried to Google it…. But IWOULD have read it, Craig; See, I DO read all sides. You should, too.

Um, Craig, even if any of that’s true that I see the article’s accusations towardTrump ( and you will be disappointed to know I’m NOT a huge fan of Trump rhetoric because I’m not used to politicians who don’t talk and act like seasoned snake oil salesmen like Pelosi and Schumer), but to infer that he dropped any balls on the virus is as stupid as suggesting he kept immigrant kids in cages……Let’s blame EVERYBODY if we’re going to blame, pal.

Gates warned us 5 years ago; pretty detailed warnings…..did Obama listen? Where ARE all those masks and ventilators HE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN TO ACQUIRE AND STOCKPILE? HUH?

Trump was TOTALLY blindsided, just as much as WE WERE….EVERYBODY ON THE FREAKIN’ PLANET KNEW SOMETHING LIKE THIS COULD HAPPEN…..GATES WAS SPECIFIC WHILE YOUR HERO OBAMA WAS PRESIDENT…GONNA BLAME OBAMA, TOO, CRAIG?

tHANKS for coming by…I feel people who NOW slam this president for having to clean up the messes of YOUR HEROES’ FAILURES are SCUM.

(WOW, that’s rough even for ME!!) Sorry, Craig, but honestly? YOU NEVER LET ME DOWN. Sad, isn’t it?

Kid, I’m MISSING A FABULOUS CONSERVATIVE AMERICA/GOD LOVING HUSBAND “@Z, you gotta wonder why God leaves critters like soros and the beast and takes so many others. soros should be put away for economic terrorism at the least. Geeez, come on guys:”

I SURE DO, KID. TRUST ME!!!

I’d watch your California video but it’ll piss me off…….I know too many fabulous conservative God loving rich Californians…am related to a few!! Also, it threw me because MONTANA AVENUE in Santa Monica is like THE expensive shopping street in W.L.A…like Rodeo Dr is to Beverly Hills, so for a sec, I thought that’s what he meant…till I read your comment 🙂

    ED…totally agree with you.

“Lotta Damn Sam” stuff are things going on that are so hurtful, and so don’t make any sense. Good people being taken out of the blue for no reason as in this example. Stuff that is very hard to deal with but you do it anyway because you have no other choice. Damn Sam.

Z, Yea, good response but I suspect falling on deaf ears or against a brick wall. The TDS people are hopeless at this point IMO and not worth the effort. Let them rot in their leper colonies hating Trump for another 4.5 years.
